Multimedia files deleted from internal storage - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello! I have a severe problem. Have a Doogee Shoot 2 and all multimedia file (audio, video, photo) that is not saved on SD gets deleted by itself basicaly... I don't know what to do, any antivirus gives me any alarm but the multimedia keeps deleting it. I tried to use DiskDigger, nothing happen, Recuva on PC also nothing. I'm with Dumpster right now and the files deleted goes there but says that is impossible to open...

SGS2 internal sd card infected with virus :/

So, long story short: my internal sd card is infected with virus
The details:
Today I plugged my phone via usb to my laptop to transfer some files when I discovered that all of my folders have become .exe files. When I tried to open them, my antivirus software said there is a trojan, to be exact this one - Win32.HLLW.Napad.
Last week I was using my friend's usb drive in my phone with the option USB on the Go and maybe this was the source of the infection.
Anyway, the question is what to do now??? I am using Dr. Web on my laptop, scaned the internal sd card and found 61 infected files/folders. The problem is I can't cure them. The only option is to move them to quarantine. When I do that and plug my phone again, they are gone. BUT when I use file manager on the phone, the files and folders are still there.
After moving the files/folders to quarantine... and use file manager on my phone to browse the internal sd, their extensions are displayed corectly now. Before that all the folders were .exe. What does that mean???
Any suggestions how to cure/clean them cuz I don't want to delete any of them. We're talking about pics folder, data, music & etc. ??
Thanks in advance.
Try one of the many data restore packages via USB to PC.. sure a search will provide plenty available.
If not able to retrieve format the storage yes you will loose everything but hey presto problem solved, not that that virus 'if isn't false positive" would be a problem to device since not same architecture..
Then in future keep backing up images to computer or us online storage from phone...

[Q] Unkown files in .data\CacheManager created after a reset

The core issue is all data in the internal storage from my phone was deleted. After resetting my phone a new set of folders was created. Inside .data\CacheManager there are unknown files (See HTC_DNA_FoldersGoneDATACACHE.jpg). What are these files and could they be linked to the lost data?
Phone: HTC Droid DNA
Model: HTC643LVW
Android: 4.4.2
HTC Sense: 5.5
HTC SDK: 5.59
Storage: 16GB
Data Deletion Details
My phone was hooked up to my PC I deleted a folder Yahoo from an old app. I noticed my phone sharing its network to my PC and I disabled it. After unhooking and hooking it back up to the PC, (to make sure the network tether was not default) I noticed all the files in the internal storage were gone (~8GB). I unhooked the phone from the PC and reset it at 4:07PM 10/16/2014 the files did not come back but a new set of folders was created (See HTC_DNA_FoldersGone.jpg). The internal storage now looks like the previous link and is 38.4MB in size. All my contacts, messages, and apps are still there. I lost documents, media, and all app data stored inside the internal storage. 80% is backed up but what concerns me is why this happened. The only information I have is a single critical event that happened when the phone was unhooked from the PC after disabling the tether (See EventError.jpg).
Extra Details
The PC says the phone has 11.3GB of total space and 9.8GB available (See InternalStorage.jpg). And the total size of all files listed, hidden and visible, is only 39.4MB (See HTC_AllFolgerSize.jpg).
The phone it lists 16GB total, Apps 1.48GB, Other 4.7GB, Avalible 9.8GB.
What I have done
I have tried to use recovery tools to get the lost data but because the transfer protocol is MTP no Windows application can look in the phones memory. Even applications claiming to be able to recover data from phones has failed.
Attached are images related to the issue and the zip file is just all the images in a nice way for those who rather just download them all instead of opening them individually.
There are free apps on the playstore that can recover data. Its technically not lost until its overwritten, the system just sees it as free space that can be written on. I don't remember which one I used but I was able to recover 100s of photos and videos that I accidently deleted.

[Q] Issues after 4.4.4 Upgrade

Hi Guys,
After successfully updating to 4.4.4 (23.0.1.A.0.167) via pc-companion I'm facing several problems:
Somehow the phone seems to have a problem with reading and writing the memory.
The album app doesn't load any thumbnails and at some point hangs-up the whole phone until it restarts.
Same problem with the walkman-app (doesn't show any music, hangs-up and forces the phone to restart), same with video apps... you get the deal.
If I try to open the files via file commander, it only works in some cases: Pictures either get shown in the album app or file commander hangs-up and phone restarts, same with videos and so on.
Everything which somehow has to do with writing and reading the memory doesn't work, some other examples:
I tried to uninstall an app, phone hangs-up and restart, camera app doesn't take pictures and videos without hanging-up, opening storage under settings hangs the phone up in some cases...
I deleted the storage and cache of said apps but it didn't help.
I can't even connect my phone to the pc via mtp-mode anymore: pc-companion says connection failure. An external sd card is not used.
My Phone is stock D6503.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS english isn't my native language, so forgive me any made mistakes.
Repair via sony PC companion or use flashtool to flash a FTF (exclude data to avoide losing your internal storage)
Sometimes transfering files via usb causes them to corrupt (i.e updating from PC)
It's working now!
I pluged in a sd-card to transfer my files onto it and now it's all good again.
Maybe some files were corrupt and caused the phone to hang-up itself...Since I transfered them back into the internal storage and it's still working, it doesn't make any sense.
Anyway, close thread please.

Files not showing on pc

This is a first for me and I've tried Google with not much luck but after I rooted my v10 I've not been able to see the files I downloaded on internal drive. It happened right after instaling no name Rom hence the only 2 files that show we're the first 2 I downloaded but I've downloaded more since then but they don't show when conected to my computer. This includes pictures as well. But the files are very much there they show with any android file explorer and the only way I've been able to view them is if I pull them the internal folder and move them to the micro sd. I've never come across this issue before was wondering if anybody had any advice.

Photo and video recovery, please help

Hi, I lost my dog yesterday and have accidently deleted a few videos and lots of photos of our last months together, these were stored on the SD card in my phone. I have a Motorolo G3 running Android 6.0.1.
I have spent most of today downloading various apps to try and get my files back, DiskDigger was the only sucessful one but it was only able to recover thumbnail size pictures. I have tried Recuva which cannot see my SD Card when the phone is connected via USB with the USB file transfer option enabled. Easeus can see the phone but asks that I enable USB mass storage to recover the files, unfortunately I already have this enabled when I see the message.
Would rooting my phone help? From what I can gather I only need to root my phone if the files I want to recover were stored on the phones internal storage, I am mistaken?
Does anyone know how I can recover these files? There are a few very special photos and videos that I desperately want back.
Thanks
No ideas?
