Hello,
I have recently got an xperia X with a locked bootloader with unlocking not allowed. Does anyone know of a way round this or a way to root without unlocking the bootloader? Thanks
please give me your screen shot about that
in short, NO there is no way but
xperia x came on android 6, downgrade to android 6, extract TA.img (drmkeys), unlock the bootloader, upgrade to android 7.1.1, flash patched kernel, restore TA.IMG and relock your bootloader as if it was never unlocked
you will have ROOTED device, with locked bootloader!
i explain the above process in one line! but its a long method and takes sometimes 5hrs ( including internet downloading stockrom time)

Hello,
I have a used sk17i and the previous owner unlocked the bootloader.
Not sure what method was used to unlock it.
The problem I'm having is I want to restore the phone via SEUS, but when it asks to turn phone on holding down, SEUS does not see the phone in flash mode (flashtool does).
I presume I need to relock the bootloader for SEUS to start working again?
What are the steps to figure out what method was used to unlock it, and to relock it? (if it's the patched thing, how do I reverse it, if I need to flash the stock sk17i kernel (currently it's not a stock one), where do I get the boot.img?)
relock bootloader
I'm still find a way to get oem bootloader back..
seriously, no-one saved the original one ?
If you just want to restore to original SE's OS you can use Wotan Server for that. Its totally free, you just need to register at WotanServer.com which is also free. The Wotan Server client will download the firmware once you select the CDA. You can have any custom kernel os rom before using Wotan . You dont need to relock bootloader for this . I did this on my Xperia Mini . But if you want to relock bootloader for other reasons then the available method is for Xperia arc. This method is only if the bootloader is unlocked in normal method. If the bootloader was unlocked using setool, omnius, patch, etc. then this relocking method wont work, Which is risky . It worked on my Xperia Mini but I dont suggest it because it was posted for Xperia arc. And even though you relock bootloader you wont get the DRM rights back which means you cannot use apps like trackId, appextra, etc. All the best.
Ok, so i have my Z2 for a few months and i couldn't find any information regarding of benefits on
different ways to unlock bootloader? There is an option unlocking over a official site and unlocking
with flashtool, i kindly accept any advice.
Also, i had Desire HD, it had unlocked BL, eng s-off and everything else, but i only had to flash a rom and
thats it i can start using it. The process of flashing roms was a childs play, but on Z2 i have to flash boot.img
(i think thats kernel) over a fastboot and then flash rom from recovery separately, so is there a chance of unlocking Z2
the same way?
No difference between following Sony's guide or another method
edit-
the output is the same, just the method of getting there is different
i recommend flash tool because it makes Boot loader Unlocking easier
Unlocking by flashtool is just an automated way of doing it the official way.
It just enters the codes for you that Sony provides to save you typing them in. Flashtool is not an alternative method, it is the same method without having to type commands yourself
Hello,
Before i buy HTC, i ask a question. Is it possible to root and flash recovery without unlocking bootloader?
I have done rooting my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact through exploits and flash recovery.img without unlocking bootloader and without losing DRM

You can root and flash recovery without unlocking bootloader but the phone must be s-off.

Recently I have unlocked my Sony Xperia xz1 dual(g8342) to install pixel experience, but the experience was buggy so I decided to roll back to stock OS and relock my bootloader, I have moved back to my stock rom but has not been able to lock my bootloader using fastboot oem lock. It always failed with an error. Can any please tell me any other way to lock it's bootloader.
Sorry, once unlocked, you can never relock it again.
Hi.
Been a while since I where on XDA last, had first Xperia 1, and didnt wanna unlock it to root it because of the drm keys.
I can't find a proper post about this, and want to be sure if it exists.
I have read articles like:
Flashing a Xperia 1 iii without unlocking
[GUIDE][WINDOWS] Bootloader Unlock & Relock, Drivers, Magisk rooting, Firmware and GSI ROM flashing without TWRP
I don't want to unlock the phone...
drm key losing is a myth, relocking will just re enable those and bring widevine L1
