How to root an Energizer S500E - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello I have an Energizer S500E phone (Android 6, kernel 3.18.19+). Does anyone know how I would go about rooting it? I'm trying to connect to a wired LAN via a USB OTG cable and I'm told I need root access in order to enable Ethernet via USB.
Thanks in advance!

On another note, if you can get Magisk onto it, that might help you.

[Q] USB host adapter to tether to phone data?

Can I use the USB host adapter to tether to my android phone for internet access?
[edit]
Even connecting to a USB verizon modem would be am option?
Thanks,
Devan
You want to use a usb modem stick? Asked that b4. It seems impossible. It would be great though. If someone could dump or cook a rom from the 3g version to detect the USB modem in the wifi version, I would get rid off my cradlepoint router.

@peare: Are you referring to this thread? If so what was the outcome? The thread appears to have run dry with a request for dmesg. I suspect there is a similar problem with the phone tether needing an NDIS driver, I wonder if these could be installed on a rooted device without cooking the ROM?
It shouldnt be that difficult i suppose. I dont know linux, so i cant say anything. We need a line in wireless settings to point us to a APN. 3g model has a modem installed, I am inserting the modem externally. So whats the big deal? Some drivers and an application should do that for us.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 (AT&T), usb on the go cable, and usb 3.0 flash drive

Hello. I am new here. I've always used this site and forum for my android help. Never really got to making an account til I got a new phone.
So I got a Samsung Galaxy S3 from AT&T. I am thinking about getting a usb on the go cable from Samsung, so I can plug in usb flash drives.
My question is will usb 3.0 flash drives work? I have read many users posting that usb 2.0 flash drives work but have not really seen any for 3.0. I am running android 4.0.4 which I think is latest for my phone. I do realize that the phone will not be able to achieve usb 3.0 speeds, but what I am looking for is usb 3.0 from computer to flash drive. I want to be able to move files faster from my computer to the flash drive hence is why I want a usb 3.0 flash drive. I'm hoping that it will work with my galaxy S3 and the usb on the go cable, otherwise I'll be buying a usb 3.0 flash drive for nothing.
Thanks in advance for any help. If this has been answered before and there is already a thread, I'd appreciate directing me to it (I did a quick search but did not find one). Oh and if anyone has gotten it to work, if you can recommend any specific brand for the flash drive, that'd be great too. I'm thinking about sandisk or corsair.

any possible way to get this tablet up and running?

GTP7510MAYXAR wont connect to pc, usb not recognized. In odin mode it does the same. Pc doesnt have bluetooth either.
When inserting a usb female connector it does say usb connection, but the usb flash drives did not show. Tablet
also charges healthy.
I want to root this, install clockwork recovery, flash rom to jb 4.2.2, but without the help of that pc i am stuck on 4.04 stock.
Bought this from someone so no previous exp with this device.
Any way to root and install recovery with tablet alone itself?
Thank you for your time:laugh:
Maybe I'm underestimating your experience, but you can try this to see whether USB storage works:
Go to Settings -> Storage -> the 3-lined menu button at the top right corner -> USB PC connection -> Media device (MTP)
I wish this can help. if you have further questions we are here to help at any time.
Good luck!

Ofcourse i tried it hihi:highfive:
But i am starting to think its faulty hardware as no one has any idea about the issue
I actually bought mine in the exact same condition. It would not work on usb no matter what i did also a few other 'bugs' I thought it was a faulty cable but it turned out to be corrupted files on the rom.
Long story short, reatoring the tab to factory via ODIN fixed everything.

Well, you could use mobile ODIN or Rom Manager. However, you need to be able to pull the backup you're going to make before you install that custom rom off of the device. Using USB is a simple way of doing that. It's possible to get it off over WiFi, but you really should fix the USB.

USB tethering on TAB264

Hi,
I have TAB264 Yarvik. Only thing I need is to connect it to the RasPI and make USB tether. I test it on Arch Linux on my notebook. I can plug my phone with usb tethering allowed and than I am able to connect to the internet.
However, there is no such option on my TAB264. There is original ROM (4.2.2). I have installed some USB tether apps but nothing worked.
Do I need root or even new ROM? Or is it hardware dependent?
Thank you.
P.S. I can see the tablet in ADB if it helps.

[Help] Zipatile USB connection not recognized

I have a Zipatile wall controller based on Android 5.0.2
USB debugging is enabled, but when I connect it to a computer, it is not recognized, like nothing happened.
According to a post on the vendor's forum, the USB is configured to be in host mode and as such connecting to another host does not do anything.
Can some please help me to reconfigure the USB port?
ADB is accessible via network, selinux is disabled, but device is not rooted.
any help is much appreciated, thanks
So it seems I do not hit the right message as there are no takers.
Gladly will try to provide as much information as needed, but please give some pointers on what might help.
And thanks for taking the time to respond in advance
Hello Ileo,
did you succeed reconfiguring Zipatile USB port?
I am tired of Zipato platform... I think you know very well the reason since you have the same controller...
Maybe we should open a specific thread for this, I saw lot of people interested to this topic on Zipato community.
Thank you so much
