[RECOVERY] [TWRP] [MIDO] Unable to install Twrp

The Fastboot installation process goes all fine but device boots into Mi-Recovery by default. Currently Using Miui 9 Dev Rom (7.12.21 | Beta). This happened after I flashed the stock Dev rom after accidentally bricking my phone while unrooting through SuperSu's Full Unroot Option.
Bootloader is unlocked. Help asap plz.
Using The 4Gb 64Gb variant.
Hi,
if you flash Global Developer rom using Fastboot method, you will always flash a stock recovery with it.
There is a great manual how to unlock your device on official CZ and SK webpage created by local admins.
Just go to miuios.cz (translate it to ENG using browser like chrome or others) create an account to be able see the links.
Then on the main page scroll down to Redmi note 4 and check
[NÁVODY] - základné /Bootloader/TWRP/MIUI/ROOT
there is everything you need to unlock device with software you need.
All credits to miuios team.

I think is a problem about installation process (I had the same problem with another phone), but you can still access twrp with your computer. Just use this command: Fastboot boot "twrp.img".
Update "twpr.img" with your own twrp´s file name.
Wait untill phone´s reboot (more than 15s.)
Then use it as usual
Good luck

I ran into the same problem after unlocking the bootlader:
TWRP would not install -> [Vol+] + [Power] started only the MIUI recovery.
But after some search, I found that you have to:
enter in a terminal "fastboot flash recovery twrp-x.x.x-x-mido.img"
enter after that "fastboot boot twrp-x.x.x-x-mido.img"
My Note 4 then started in TWRP.
EDIT:
Corrected step 2

After flashing twrp, directly from terminal boot to twrp and flash super su along with lazyflasher, after that reboot, when rebooted install official twrp app and super su app, and using the twrp app once again install twrp. That shld do.

How did you get ADB commands to work in Fastboot? Having the same TWRP problem right now.

ADB doesn't work in Fastboot... fastboot.exe does. And that can only boot into itself (the bootloader), not the recovery.
Anyway, I solved the problem. Mine is a 4X not a Note 4X. Damn you Xiaomi... they are exactly alike!

You are right, my mistake.
adb does not work and I mixed it up.
But I did test 'fastboot boot twrp-x.x.x-x-mido.img' in fastboot mode and it worked on my Note 4.

As others have reported, I had the same issue too. I was able to boot to TWRP with the fastboot boot command above, but it looks like after you boot to the stock ROM (mine was MIUI V9.2.1.0.NCFMIEK as far as I remember), the TWRP recovery gets replaced by the stock one. After flashing LineageOS (official lineage-14.1-20180331-nightly-mido-signed.zip), I can now properly reboot to TWRP with Vol+ & Power.
Thanks for the tip @tinaeire :good:
Why aren't devs mentioning this in the instructions right after the recovery flash command? I'll never understand. I guess it's more MIUI's fault for being so weird about the bootloader.
TWRP boots stable
Press VOLUME-UP and POWER together, when you feel the vibration release the buttons.
-> boots into TWRP
If you hold the two buttons until you see the TWRP logo flash up and release them at that moment -> boots to MIUI.
Did that with phone mentioned below, TWRP 3.2.1, and MIUI Global 9.2 Stable.
I am also facing the same problem, please someone guide me thoroughly how to root my xiaomi redmi note 4 snapdragon global stable version. i have successfully unlocked my phone but i can't start it up in twrp recovery mode. please tell me all the steps and files necessary.

Once you flash TWRP via fastboot then use command fastboot boot xxx.img
So, you'll be able to boot to TWRP, next flash magisk for MIUI, install lazyflasher.zip and reboot and check if TWRP sticks.
i have the same issue after flash the twrp and it reboot back to mi recovery instead. However i am using redmi K20.
Found out that the issue is the twrp.img file that you flash must be a correct one that your download for your device.
If it is not the correct file ( my case is using redmi k20 pro instead of redmi k20 twrp.img), i will always failed and stay at mi recovery.

Soft brick while trying to flash TWRP

Hello to all !
In order to install Lineage OS on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, I was trying to flash TWRP as recovery. I was able to run successfully command 'fastboot flash antirbpass dummy.img' to skirt anti rollback, then i execute successfully 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' command to flash TWRP, but no way to boot on TWRP.
I tried also to run command 'fastboot boot recovery.img' but while booting it stays stucked on MI logo.
While searching for a solution I inconveniently run command 'fastboot flash boot recovery.img', so now I'm in a bootloop on fastboot mode if I press volume down and power button, or MI logo if I start in normal mode.
I still have access to fastboot commands, do you know how I can do to fix it (and maybe a way to install TWRP correctly) ?
And I can not stop my phone, does it exist a command which allows to do this in fastboot or I have to wait for my phone to be without battery ?
Thanks in advance for your help !

I guess you have Redmi note 5 - codename: Whyred (Snapdragon 636 and with dual rear camera) so Redmi 5 plus doesn´t have ARB.
If the next recommendation doesn´t work you will find better guidance in the thread for your specific device https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro so is slightly different.
Flash again your stock boot image , reboot and check that USB debugging is enabled and start again the process:
Put TWRP in your sdcard and a copy with this name in your adb folder into pc, reboot to fastboot and first just boot to TWRP, don´t flash it in fastboot, use code
Code:
fastboot boot TWRP.img
then in TWRP flash TWRP file and flash dummy.img ARB. In the case that your counter is up to 4 here you will find the file to enable again fastboot mode https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/how-to/index-everything-anti-roll-t3816219

I will assume that you have the correct TWRP build for your device (do you have vince, or whyred?).
If you have the correct TWRP, then did you flash magisk or lazyflasher after installing TWRP?

Do like this: once you flashed type
Fastboot boot recoveryname.img

Mi A3 Fastboot Loop

Hello I'm stuck at fastboot loop with my Mi A3 after flashing TWRP
Here is what I did:
1. unlocked bootloader
2. downloaded TWRP from here: dl. twrp. me/ laurel_sprout/twrp-3.3.1-0-laurel_sprout.img.html (cant post links, sorry)
3. installed it with fastboot flash boot twrp-3.3.1-0-laurel_sprout.img
After that the reboot is always goes into fastboot
I found the advice to change the partition - it was B and I set it to A and it could load the stock recovery, so I tried to flash TWRP again and it went to Fastboot loop again, on both partitions. No I don't know what to do.
command 'fastboot devices' - shows the device.
but I cannot boot into recovery, I tried holding power and volume up buttons many times, it always boots into Fastboot (screen with bunny and robot)
Please help!

Flash the boot.img of your current firmware version in twrp to both slots and flash twrp installer.zip afterwards then reboot. Now you will be able to boot as normal and have twrp installed also

extract the official recovery from the global fastboot rom and flash through cmd to recover the boot, then wipe from the recovery and you will return to miui 12.1.1
what i'm trying to figure out is if i can go back to the previous version of android without risking to crash the device.
I ran the fastboot getvar anti command and the result was Anti: 2 but I am not quite clear what that means.
I am a new user at Xiaomi.

Before installing custom recovery and installing custom rom, it is recommended to backup.
You installed the recovery well, but in order to install custom ROMs you have to format and restart the recovery, then pass the ROM you want to flash and reboot system.

Good evening ..
For all those interested in downloading the official ROM version of the Xiaomi mi note 10 Lite, I have news for you, at least for those who want and have not tried.
I tried the method of saving the MiFlash folder on Disk C, in the same way I did with the global ROM of miui 11.0.8 fastboot, to the latter I changed the name of the folder to a shorter one (example Miui11.0.8), then boot in fastboot mode and run my flash running the ROM (Miui11.0.8) and the result obtained is that, I'm back on Android 10 with miui 11.0.8.
I share this information to give security to all those who had doubts about this and did not dare to try.
This data I extracted from various forums and pointed to it to give credit to all those who previously published it.
Remember that the bootloader must be unlocked.
Regards.
Hi everybody
I've got a problem...
Downloaded latest OTA update from "xiaomi.eu", agreed to install, the phone then rebooted in to fastboot mode and does nothing else.
Rebooted the phone with adb command "fastboot continue" and this went well...it rebooted the system.
Now every time i restart the phone it reboots in to fastboot mode and i have to "fastboot continue" again.
I am also not able to enter recovery because the phone always enters fastboot mode.
Reinstalled recovery (Twrp-3.4.2B_toco_by.alex.msk1407.img) via ADB succesfully, but when i "fastboot reboot recovery" it reboots back into fastboot.
I'm also not able to boot into EDL mode.
Any solution?
Thanks

Then flash new stock fastboot images of eu in miflash.

[SOLVED] I think I bricked my Mi 10 - Please help

Hi,
So long story short, I tried to get good phone for someone for a good price, I ordered a Xiaomi Mi 10 from China - But it came with a bunch of Chinese bloatware so I wanted to flash the Global ROM and have Google on there
I added it to my Xiaomi account, unlocked the bootloader (waited 168 hours), then followed instructions from a youtube video (
)
It worked well - I used adb to flash TWRP, and was able to install the Global ROM from xiaomi.eu using TWRP (version 12-11) (filename: xiaomi.eu_multi_MI10_V12.2.9.0.RJBCNXM_v12-11)
This worked well and everything went smooth, and I thought I was done, then I wanted to remove the device from my Xiaomi account, so I did remove the device from my account via Mi Cloud, and then I went to factory reset the phone, and then it just keeps booting into Fastboot.
I tried to hold buttons to boot into TWRP (volume UP and Power) but just goes into Fastboot, I tried to flash TWRP again via adb using "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" but am getting this error when I run "fastboot boot twrp.img" - FAILED (remote: 'Failed to load/authenticate boot image: Load Error')
Please let me know if there is anything I can do - even to get back to the chinese stock ROM
Thanks in advance
Hi all - I solved the problem by using the Global Fastboot ROM and MiFlash tool - I got a CRC error "update sparse crc list failed" but followed some advice to edit the "Flash.all" script and remove the 2 lines that contain "CRC"
Then the Flash process worked and the phone did boot into Global ROM
The xiaomieu stable version has a problem with custom recovery, so you grabbed fastboot.
if you want to use recovery, you need to boot recovery via ADB with the command fastboot boot recovery ....
Do not use on a stable version of xiaomieu recovery via the restart button to recovery
Actually, one can boot to recovery via restart button, but only after flashing the twrp 3.4.0 little turtle.
However, this recovery isn't able to decrypt the partitions, and could be used for flashing ROMs only from OTG drive.
The one that does decrypt and could be used in "normal" way is twrp 3.4.2.1206, but this one can only be booted as you said with fastboot boot recovery.img
