The app is called "Star Live Wallpaper" on the Play Store, it was created way before the S8/Note 8 were released, but it serves this purpose well. It basically makes your wallpaper look like you're flying through stars in space, the live moving stars match perfectly with the stars already shown in the Note 8 lock screen wallpapers. You do have to watch an ad (or pay 59 cents) to unlock the ability to customize the background behind the stars though, support the dev!
1. Download the Star Live Wallpaper app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.zapto.lp.starlwp
2. Download the Note 8 wallpaper that you want, I've found that the one that I'm using in the video (first one linked below) works best with the stars effect:

https://cdn57.androidauthority.net/...hority-samsung-galaxy-note-8-wallpaper-10.png
https://cdn57.androidauthority.net/...hority-samsung-galaxy-note-8-wallpaper-12.png
3. Open the Star Live Wallpaper app and go to preferences
4. Set the number of stars to Medium, the speed to Slow and background to the Note 8 wallpaper that you downloaded
(Pro tip if you used the wallpaper that I'm using in the video: Select "Star color", select "custom", write "B5BBC6" to the text field and press "select". This makes the star effect more subtle and blends the stars to fit the background better.)
5. Go back to the app's main menu, and select "Set livewallpaper"
6. Set it as wallpaper to both, and enjoy!
I'm not affiliated with this app or its developer in any way, I just stumbled upon this app while searching for different live wallpapers in the Play Store, and realized that it can be customized to look like a Note 8 Infinity live wallpaper. Having a Galaxy device isn't a necessity either, the app works on any device running Android 4.0 and up.

Is there any way to change the wallpaper on my out-of-the-box gTablet? I can press the classic home screen and get to the wallpapers/widgets etc but can only see the stock images for wallpaper selection.
I do not have Gallery on this tablet but do have new photos on the gTab (Picasa and downloaded) that I would like to use.
Anyone know where does the stock wallpaper (non animated) photos live on the gTab? Thank you!
first off out of box rom kinda sucks, but if you like go with it .
to change wallpaper on most roms is just pressing and holding down on the current background till a window pops up. there you will see a wallpaper option. gl
You might want to check out dodal Wallpaper Maker (AD), available from the Android Market. This app allows you to create wallpaper from your own images. Works fine for me on the gTablet.
Gary,
the out of the box ROM does not have the Android Market. I would use the suggestion from numberattic or install a custom ROM to get to the market.
Wallpaper help. Thanks!
Hi --
Thanks to each of you for responding. I wish I had time or interest in rooting this thing and changing out the ROM etc. I had expected something a little more professional. I prefer the Classic Home UI and am not happy that out of the box, I get 4 or 5 cheesy wallpapers (either live or static) and no access to Market etc. Prob the average user of this thing will not experience or care about this, but . . . it's worth to me to shell out a few more dollars and not have to hack anything to get it to where it should have been in the first place when I bought it.

Yes, I can and did do what numberattic suggested as is standard with Android but on the gTablet this only allows access to the pre-installed wallpapers and provides no add'l functionality at all. Trying to get images I have loaded in "Photos" to work as wallpaper is also apparently not possible with any combination of mashing, pressing, tapping etc etc etc.

Is it possible to get the SGS3 Dandelion lockscreen on the SGS2?
I have installed the live wallpaper samsung dandelion for galaxy s3;it works for galaxy note but I have just discovered that works also for sg 2.If you want to install this live wallpaper click here ;http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1069205&stc=1&d=1337367259
I have got the live wallpaper installed but i was wondering if you could use it for the lock scrren aswell.
Thanks for the reply
Get Widget Locker from the Play Store:
http://bit.ly/MeUCC7
It's a lockscreen replacement that keeps your live wallpaper running. You can also adjust lockscreen brightness, so the LWP is always shining bright. And remember to set it to your task killer's ignore list (if you use one), else it'll keep getting killed.
if anyone knows of a better and/or free alternative, feel free to tell me.

I found a better way:
Get Go Locker from the Play Store (http://bit.ly/M7ryOv). Unlike Widet Locker, it's completely free. Not so customizable, but faster. The lag when unlocking the phone is completely gone.
Start Go Locker, activate it and set Background -> Launcher Background, so it displays the LWP on the lock screen.
If you like, install Fluid Live Wallpaper (http://bit.ly/LhvacK). It's a paid app, but well worth the money - the water effects are stunning.
Download the attached wallpapers (they're identical, I only reduced color saturation in No. 1) and set one of them as LWP background (via Live Wallpapers -> Fluid -> Downloaded Images).
That's it...

Hmm... About that GO Locker no lag behaviour... As far as I'm aware - lag when powering up screen comes from device waking modem up from deep sleep state.
Could you download CPU Spy (free) and check if phone gets to sleep while GO locker is used?
I know there are a few DNA wallpaper threads, but I feel this warrants a new thread...
I'm a wallpaper fiend and wallpapers for our phones are INCREDIBLY hard to find, so I just wanted to add some tips I've found for finding proper wallpaper for our phones that may not be immediately apparent.
First of all, I know this is pretty obvious, but any 1920x1080 wallpaper can be rotated 90 degrees to work for our phones. Also, all the stock Xperia Z wallpapers will work.
Google searches for "larger than 4 MP" come up with a lot of results: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en...p.r_qf.&fp=5394ff313a8b7984&biw=2133&bih=1016
Picspeed wallpapers can be used for rotating wallpapers 90 degrees as well as using static wallpapers without having to crop them: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.srsdev.wallpapers&hl=en If you open the Gallery directly, you can got to Set As and choose Picspeed.
Wallpapers for the iPad 3 are Very close to our required resolution, and this is a great resource: http://2048px.com/
If you find a wallpaper you like with a solid black or white background, you can make a 2160x1920 file in Photoshop and fill the background layer with black or white, If you drag the wallpaper you downloaded directly into photoshop it will place it dead center and you can easily create a correct resolution file. You can also do this with any color 1080x1920 wallpaper as long as you don't allow the homescreen to rotate.
Wallbase has a few 2160x1920 wallpapers: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5jaXRjLndhbGxiYXNlIl0.
Any system dump from a 1080p tablet will work as long as you rotate the wallpaper 90 degrees using the Picspeed or Photoshop method.
Please post any more suggestions/ links you find! Wallpapers for are phones are scarce and I feel we need an official thread going.
EDIT: Here's a zip file of all the ones I've tracked down. http://d-h.st/iLZ
Here are a few Star Trek PNG pics you guys may find wallpaper worthy...
Enjoy...
More Star Trek goodness...
Beautiful!

HI
I am new to this forum but previously been reading articles on this forum.
I recently bought Huawei G610 Android phone and it has 4.2.1 and it is NOT rooted. I am using stock ROM and i am happy with it.
I have come across some problems which i wanted to ask for help.
1. In Huawei theme mode (native) i cannot set scrollable wallpaper, when i try to set it, it asks for cropping and it gives me 2 rectangles. If i am using a native screen resolution wallpaper, even then it asks for cropping. These 2 rectangles are in such way that i HAVE to set an area for best option even with full extreme resized. It doesn't allow scrolling the wallpaper and there is no option in "settings>display" to have scroll option enable or disable.
2. I installed Go Launcher and it allows to scroll the wallpaper BUT again resizes like the previous stock launcher. It scrolls but in the area of 2 rectangles. I cannot set the full length of wallpaper.
3. In stock theme when i hold the "menu" button it shows the currently running apps. I choose to run the ones i want and close the rest. In Go Launcher when i click on "background running apps" it shows me a big list of apps running in background BUT again when i hold-press the "menu" button to see the background running apps, then it has the ones which i want to run but in Go Launcher it is showing even the play store, clock, settings etc running. What is this difference?
ZTE locker automatic download and apply background every screen on.
Is there a wallpaper app can do the same????
- Auto download QHD wallpaper
- Auto change every screen on.
Maybe give tapet a try in the play store. Very configurable,
If you don't mind Google, they have a Wallpapers app that is very similar to the ZTE locker.
Google Wallpapers (Play Store)
Muzei is pretty similiar, it doesn't refresh on every screen on though.
500 Firepaper by Chainfire is one that I use. Really good, configurable, and since it uses images from the 500px site, it's pretty fresh.

I recently wrote an app that does this pulls images from an RSS feed, I currently have just 2 NASA ones
