{solved} [help] (bootloop) boot recovery using odin !! - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey i have ruined my s3 volume + button now i can only boot odin mode with USB jig emulator , is it possible to boot recovery using odin flashable file ?! Help please !!i've tryed everything nothing works "couldnt find any flashable file for I9300 to boot recovery" i have bootloop caused from installing stock rom on it "stuck in samsung blue logo"
edit : solved it by creating a flashable file by combining cache.img from cf-root and recovery.img to boot recovery from odin , i have uploaded the file for people have the same issue like me

You'll have to replace the buttons..

There must be a way to boot recovery from odin , i had a siyah kernel file before for my s2 that boot to cwm

The s2 isn't the s3. There is no way to boot to recovery or download mode via odin. There is no way to boot into anything without one or the other of those 2. Bootloop is bootloop.
Vol- will get to download mode while vol+ does recovery.
If you had access to recovery you can use adb. If you had access to download mode you can use fastboot. If you have access to neither the cant can't do jack without a xtclip or similar expensive hardware.

I can boot to recovery using fastboot or at least clear data ? What exactly i can do using fastboot i can boot to download mode .. , i just need to clear data to get out of bootloop or at least a flashable file to clear data ...

well i have fixed it by combining two files in one tar file flashable to boot into recovery

[Q] phone stuck at boot screen

some time ago i rooted my galaxy ace and tried to install the clockworkmod for backup. i understood that i need to reboot to stock recovery mode to install it but i couldnt find the option to install clockworkmod by selecting the file so i chose to rename the clockworkmod file into update.zip and updated in the stock recovery mode. after that i couldnt get back into recovery mode again when i pressed power+home button
awhile ago, i accidentally pressed reboot to recovery in CWM and my phone is stuck at the samsung boot screen ever since then. any help?
Does you're phone keep booting into cwm recovery? ?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
Have you tried flashing with Odin?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
it doesnt keep booting, it just stays at the samsung screen. odin doesnt work. probably cause im not sure how it works.
to put it more accurately, once i renamed the clockworkmod zip file into update.zip and update thru stock recovery, i couldnt access both the cwm or stock recovery screen.
It's because u applied the clockworkmod as update.zip in a 2.2 recovery and after that u can no longer enter Recovery and when u choose "Reboot to Recovery" in CWM the phone just stuck in boot logo forever.
Solution: Download Odin and lastest stock 2.3 rom, Volum down + Home + Power and flash the rom though USB.
u can now enter the system and recovery again but everything will be lost.

Unable to boot into recovery and boot android

I know why it happened, it was caused by me as I wiped the factory reset without cleaning the cache. As every rom, kernel and Android version change configuration is unique.
Unfortunately, usually I'd boot into recovery and re-flash it there. But when I do, the CWM/recovery logo appears for a second and then continues to boot forever. Not in a boot loop, just stuck at boot. I've tried installing a different recovery, no change. It may be skipping that as it's stuck in first boot after a flash.
Odin3 will find my phone, but it doesn't seem to support zip files like CWM does.
Is there any way I can flash a rom, clean cache or anything, without the recovery?
Sorry for bolding my text, I know how tiresome some people find reading.
Odin recognizes. tar files not the zip files... Just download . tar file for your recovery and then flash it via Odin.. read a guide for that before doing that...

Unfortunately recovery doesn't always seem to work these days, I suspect it ignores recovery on first boot.

Sweet as, it's unbricked now.
I had similar experience
Was on devil kernel, reformatted to f2fs all workng.
Tried dual boot, was in 2nd rom
The internal storage was showing no free space, checked and I was only using 3G of the 12
System was not happy
Dropped into recovery and formatted /intsd
Recovery rebooted automatically and would not do anything,
Reboot, entered recovery, rebooted, etc,etc
Dropped into download, Odin flashed cwm recovery,
Formatted partitions back to ext4, restored nandroid.
All back to normal....
Leaving f2fs alone for now

[Q] ODIN 3.07 can't flash in CWM Recovery Mode in Samsung Galaxy Neo GT-S5310

I'm following step by step process to root my gt-s5310 using ODIN 3.07. Started from download mode and connect to the PC is no problem at all. ODIN finished with the GREEN PASS. When I tried to open recovery mode, only android recovery mode is open(but malfunctioning, going no where when I press the home button) that recovery mode also don't has "install zip from sd card" option.
My android version is 4.1.2 . Baseband version S5310DXAME2. Kernel version 3.0.15-1521875 [email protected]#1
Please help me to solve the issue. Attached is the recovery mode picture

After the successful flash of the CWM file in Odin, do you let it auto reboot? Many Samsung phones have a built in script that checks to see if the recovery partition has been modified and then reapplies the factory recovery file back to it. Try this: Have the phone in hand with fingers on button combo for recovery (most Samsung phones with physical home buttons are typically Home + Volume Up along with Power, but you won't need to do the ) and when it reboots, hit the combo for recovery and it should boot to CWM, then you'll be able to do a nandroid backup and install the stuff you want. If you want to keep the stock rom and CWM recovery, you'll have to get root access and remove the script.

That is stock recovery you need to download cm recovery in .tar format and flash with odin..If it does not replace stock recovery untick reboot then after flashing switch phone off or pull battery and boot into recovery manually
Link cm recovery >> http://d-h.st/YnD <<
The ROM automatically flashes stock recovery when you boot up, easiest way to fix is:
1.Flash it through Odin BUT uncheck F reset time
2.When it's done(be sure of it) pull off the battery then put it on and start it directly in recovery
3. CWM should ask you to prevent stock ROM from flashing stock recovery
EDIT: Sorry I didn't see the person above gave you a complete answer oops [emoji28]

Complicated issue with recovery mode

I flashed NightmareROM. I found myself do not like it. I decided to flash ArchiDroid (AOSP ROM). I found it required Philz recovery. I flashed it through recovery (CWM). I rebooted to make sure everything is OK. After making Nandroid backup, found myself cannot boot into recovery and cannot boot into download mode after factory reset., but I can boot to system normally. I installed CM installer. It detected my phone, and I was able to boot into download and recovery mode. I can boot into download mode normally. I flashed the latest version of Philz Touch Recovery through Odin. When I want to boot into recovery mode, by pressing the combination, I find myself rebooting normally. When I press the combination, then pressing home + up only after the first reboot, I can boot into recovery. Is there any problem? I did not try to flash something
Change to stock cwm or twrp and test. I'm guessing a recovery problem as I've had this in the past with philz.

Someone flashed it, and he said there is no problem. Could be there is a problem with bootloader?
Bootloader won't be the problem. I use cwm6.0.4.4 and flash any ROM any firmware without issue. Philz is only a recommendations not a must In any ROM/firmware
Flashd TWRP, still having the same problem

Use one of the many apps on Playstore to boot into recovery or use adb. I know PhilZ sometimes can be a bit awkward to get into recovery but the others should be fine.Have you also tried going back to stock and starting again this may solve your problem.
Download and flash cwm 6.0.4.4
Can't help with something I don't use 'twrp'
Question.. Can you boot into recovery or download mode? If not mobile Odin.
And..what ROM are you running now? Are you rooted?

I can boot into download mode normally. I can boot into recovery mode, but I have to press up + home + power, the phone will boot into recovery, but in less than 1 sec it reboot, so I have to press up + home only
That's normal to hold the three button combo or it WONT enter recovery or download mode. Holding the power button alone will just reboot the device as you can see.
