Hi!
I'm using MIUI 9 Global 7.12.21 on a redmi note 4 using Developer ROM. Everything works like a charm with TWRP and encryption and such, but, It happens to me that, once upgrades are downloaded (weekly in this case), since the upgrades require to reboot, instead of getting them applied, the TWRP recovery jumps into.
I've the feeling that MIUI upgrades are pulled into the device using the MIUI recovery bootloader.
Does this happen to anyone else out there?
When that happens if you go again to check for update you will see that instead of the small OTA package you downloaded the first time, now you can download the whole fastboot zip (usually around 1,5 gb). This will be directly installed via twrp. So what you can do is whenever you see there is a new update go to miui forum and download from there the fastboot zip.

Tried that out, but Zip verification seems to prevent the install operation to be completed. I also tried not to perform zip verification but break the process abruptly either way
Ok
you have to download the update zip on en.miui.com, flash it with twrp, and after, always in twrp, flash the lazyflasher-no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip for redmi note 4, you can find it on the forum or with google.
I do that, it works.

Issues with Rom Flashing... "Install update.zip signature verification failed"
Hello
I am new in the World of Xiaomi and MIUI
I bought a Redmi Note 2 and it had the Oppomart MIUI-Version ist 66.77.33.00 (LHMCNCH)I Stable on it. I am a german user.
I found out that the Rom was not official and it contained useless apps and I couldnt use root either. So I wanted to flash different Roms. After some tries and researches I could flash an inofficial german Rom. But with that I couldnt use Xposed Installer so I wanted an original Rom. I flashed miui_HMNote2_5.10.15_8097474ec2_5.0. But that seems to be completely for chinese users. You can choose english language but there is no google account and no google apps. No play store, nothing. just chinese browsers, chinese apps and the MI Store completely in, guess what, chinese.
And now I cannot flash any Rom. I tried to go back to other Roms, like the german miuidecuro_REDMINOTE2_5.9.24_5.0 that i used before but nothing worked. I keep getting an error telling me "Install update.zip signature verification failed" I wiped all data, made a factory reset but nothing worked. I would even be happy to have the oppomart version back. It was annoying but had at least the playstore
Please help me

Thanks. I never used TWRP. Do I have to download and install it on the phone as an apk file or on the Computer? Sorry I am new and when I google these things I only get more confused. What is the difference between the flashtools MiPhone2015731 and TWRP?
Is it possible to use Stock Android on the note 2 instead of MIUI?

Xioami has started to use licence or something for their roms. So multilanguage rom cant acceptable anymore on orginal system. Twrp is recovery mod for Android devices. Its very simple to install and use. And no you cant. Because nobody doesnt make any stable aosp or something rom. We are waiting.
mee to.
put rom file into internal sotrage, then update ok.
Visit TWRP by going to install and then there must be a hack because you have to do away
Ok. Is there a TWRP App for all phones or does it have to be for Redmi Note 2?
I download the apk, put it on the SD Card and install it from there, is that right? Can I flash the hermes rom from there for Europe?
I never did that so I really have no clue how to do that. The phone is nearly useless right now. I gotta fix this somehow. Thanks for everyone who helps

Hi.
Cant you install a rooted stock rom with stock recovery? Then you need the right TWRP for our phone.
Heres one place where you can find it. http://www.mediafire.com/download/6sf0fsm8vx2o948/twrp287.zip
First try flash it with Mi recovery.
If not you need to download an app from playstore "flashify" with it you flash TWRP. You need a img file so you may have to unzip the recovery.zip
I have flashed Xiaomi.EU 5.10.8 Weekly which is rock stable. You should flash Chainfires last Supersu and install Google Now Launcher if you like something more "stock" and have a appdrawer..
Thanks

Ok thanks I will try that. A few hours ago I managed to flash the xiaomi.eu european version of the 5.10.15. Can I stll flash Roms with that?
Another problem is that I cannot use Xposed Installer and google now launcher. Is that normal?

ok good.
Then i would go to play store an download Flashify . Unzip the TWRP zip, and flash the recovery.img with flashify.
You can also backup kernel and recovery with this app. Its very easy and straight forward.
When you got flashed TWRP , use a file explorer with root privileges and delete the file "recovery-from-boot.bak" placed in System folder. If not you may loose TWRP after reboot.
TWRP is vital so you can make an nandroid backup of everything if/when something goes wrong. And of course flash everything else.
About Google Now Launcher, flash last Supersu zip from Chainfire in TWRP. Then you get permission to change default launcher.
I dont use Xposed for now so you have to Google it.
Only thing i miss is "Reboot to recovery" option, but a lot of apps can do this.
Thanks

Hi.
Boot image here is kernel.
Im no big fan of Miui myself , but with the right launcher its quite ok.
I have tried a couple of the aosp roms here on Xda . Find them a little buggy, and battery life isnt very good either compared to Miui.
If/when Xiaomi release all needed sources, i think we will get good and stable Aosp and CM roms to flash too.
Thanks

Yes I don't like it either. But there are too many bugs in the Custom Roms. I just want a bug free Rom where I can use xposed

Just unzip the twrp zip. You can do it with a Root Explorer. Then you get a img file.
This img file you can flash with an app called Flazhify ( Google play Store, its free ).
Have you tried this?

Hi,
My phone came with 7.00.66 and it's not rooted. I tried to flash xiaomi eu roms via updater app, but it failed several times.
Also i tried to install twrp via updater app, but it also failed. Can you help me please. :crying:
I was thinking to do this:
1) flash official developer rom via updater app, and hopefully it won't show error, because it is official rom , and it is rooted (?)
2) flash twrp using this method
HOW TO FLASH TWRP RECOVERY VIA FLASHIFY
Warning: Redmi note 2 only (other phone need specific image)
Me and this forum are not responsable for any damage. Do at your own risk
1. download flashify app from playstore and give root acces
2. download img of twrp for redmi 2 note and put in your sd card (I prefer sdext root folder)
3. Open flashify, select "recovery image", find the img file you've downloaded
4. confirm flash, wait until it's done
5. you're now ready to reboot in twrp pressing "reboot now" from flashify.
you can also turn off your phone, press power and volume up and you'll be in twrp.
3) install xiaomi eu rom with twrp
Is this correct way?
Hi,
For anyone here using the xiaomi.eu rom please help. I tried posting on xiaomi.eu but i cannot create thread for some reason.
Im on redmi note 2 xiaomi.eu rom 5.11.19/20 and i got an update notification, this never happened before. I've been using xiaomi.eu rom since 5.10.22.
Seeing the size its not an OTA update, its says
MIUI 5.11.26 | Weekly | 690.78M
Other
Bug fixes and system optimizations.
So can i update using the updater app ? or should i download the zip and flash it in TWRP ?
And if i can use the updater app then will the next weekly update
Thanks in advance
Yes, it's an OTA update. It's big because xiaomi.eu release only full rom as ota update.
It's the same to download the rom manually and install via TWRP, but you can use the updater app.

Yes, thats normal for your to get it over OTA. And if you do manage to flash TWRP, do share with me, I had problem flashing the TWRP. Makasih.

Hello guys today i unlocked my bootlader officially on Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon, and now i want to install Twrp and flash Xiaomi.eu ROM but i don't have any idea how to do it.
I searched everywhere but i didn't understand any tutorials. I saw something about patching boot.img, what boot.img should i patch the one from the ROM that i want to install? And how to do it?
I will really appreciate if someone helped me....thanks in advance!

It's simple. You download the rom you want to have, copy it to your phone's memory, install twrp, reboot to twrp, flash the rom, (optionally wipe data), flash a file called universal_boot.img_patcher.zip
You can find this file in a thread about safe twrp as far as I can remember.

The easiest method I have found out is using Cofface TWRP. Just download the image file and use fastboot/flashify to flash it. No need for patched boot.img or anything else.
Download TWRP and flash it from fastboot... If you don't even know how to flash TWRP then you shouldn't be rooting and flashing roms and stuff.

Let me keep it simple for you.
1. Install adb and fastboot first on ur pc.
2. Go to twrp folder. Along with shift key do a right click, then click on open command window here.
3.Type adb reboot bootloader in command prompt
4. Now type fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
5. Fastboot reboot
Please ensure usb debugging is on under developer options.

Hi y'all!
I'm really having trouble flashing an official stable rom on my device. The rom archive is miui_HM3_V7.3.2.0.LHPCNDD_6a5e1bc33c_5.1.zip.
I downloaded it and copied it to a folder (downloaded_rom) on the internal storage of my redmi 3. After selecting it in the updater app I get asked whether it's OK to delete all data, because the rom I'm updating to is older than the one installed. My phone's miui version is MIUI 77. Stable 77.1.1.0 (LHPCNCK). The doble 7s seem odd to me and may be part of my problem (I bought the phone like that). Then, the device is rebooting and I can see some kind of progression bar for a couple of seconds on the botton of the screen but then it just reboots into android and nothing changed
I also tried to flish it via Mi PC suite. Here, after connecting the device in fastboot mode, I got the message that my device isn't supported.
I also believe that the bootloader is locked and I already got the "permission" from xiaomi to unlock it but I had no luck with this either. The Mi unlock tool is telling me, that the "current account is different from the account info on the device" which wasn't the case after I double checked.
Am I missing something here?
kind regards
lunatikk
yes.
because you are currently in modified rom (rom supplier or seller, etc, etc) you cannot update or do anything about it
flash the official rom using miflash method
after that you can update using updater program

I'll try that and report back. Thanks!
Okay, finally I managed to flash my phone with the newest miui.eu rom. What I did was:
- Flashing the official Xiaomi Rom (MiFlash package) via MiFlash (1st try in Win32 wasn't working. 2nd try on Win64 did the job)
- I had to update to the newest official stable OTA, because somehow, I wasn't able to unlock my bootloader with the older version.
- I unlocked the bootloader using the MiFlashUnlocker.
- Updated to the official MIUI 8 dev rom using updater app on my phone
- On dev rom I granted root acces to flashify and flashed the twrp recovery image on my device (which gets wiped from my device every time I reboot - anyone knows why??)
- Reboot into recovery and flash the MIUI.eu zip which is now running on my device.
Thanks for the help guys!
Hi.
I am having the same problem, with pre-installed rom: MIUI 77.1.1.0 Stable. The updater app obviously doesn't work (now i know why) and the MiFlash software doesn't seem to work either. It doesn't recognise the phone, browsing to the downloaded rom does nothing. Am i missing something?
Update, it now recognises the phone, but miflash is saying it can't find the file specified (0x80070002: Execute flash_all.bat)
Thanks for any assistance you can give.
Update 2. Just found out you need a different version of the Rom for fastboot. available from http://en.miui.com/a-234.html for anyone searching.
Okay so Miflash began the process when i had the Fastboot rom, but failed at about 2 percent as the device is locked.
Although i have permission the Mi unlock tool won't unlock my phone as it says the accounts don't match that on the phone, although i have quadruple checked them.
Research suggests it might be a problem with the custom rom on my phone, or that i need to be on the China Dev rom to unlock?
But i can't flash the China Dev Rom!!!
Is there any way to get my device to stock rom?
Sorted.
For the benefit of anyone searching, i followed the instructions here: http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=242867&pid=4510751
Just received the new update.
Thanks for notification, also just received it.

Backup everything on your phone.
From what I understand; if you flash an OTA zip you'll end up on MIUI without root or TWRP unless, whilst still in TWRP after the zip has flashed, you immediately flash TWRP's image again along with Magisk without rebooting even once so that both persist.
That's if TWRP let's you flash whatever file ends up in /sdcard/downloaded_rom to begin with. Flashing MIUI zips - typically only supported by OrangeFox if I remember correctly. And if I'm right MIUI updater will download the full rom instead of an OTA if it detects a custom recovery.
I'd advise backing up everything before going ahead. If you want OTA your best bet might be to go on your PC and do "fastboot boot twrp.img" instead of "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" then use the temporary TWRP to install the OTA zip and Magisk zip - that way it'll patch the stock bootloader.
I'd wait for someone with a little more knowledge though. I could be deathly wrong as I've only read this stuff and not updated MIUI with OTA before.

I think it's been withdrawn. It never officially came out of beta. They're still trying to fix a few minor Q bugs like battery drain and camera app issues; on top of that the development for MIXM in particular has been a bit behind - probably due to Chinese new year and/or Coronavirus. Though it's possible the MIXM (or Global) branch is compiled outside China; truth be told I have no idea why the Q update has been handled so badly for this particular device channel. The Mi9T Pro's development has been seemingly 'paused' as of late for Global users.
Reminds me a lot of my Redmi 5 Plus. Development was paused for much of the product's lifespan and they never fixed certain bugs on the device; just merged MIUI branch changes. Hopefully the same doesn't happen to the Mi9T Pro. It is a flagship-esque device and barely six months old (August 2019).

I had to download the OTA zip someone sent here and ended up manually updating. Tap a few times on the 11 in the updater until a toast message pops up saying that you enabled additional options and then tap on 3 dots and select Choose update package and browse to the zip you downloaded and select it.
Honestly I have like since forever used custom ROMs on my phones and this time I wanted to have the "stock experience", but if they keep delaying updates like this I'll just switch to xiaomi.eu weekly builds.
Since 31st of January Xiaomi suspended temporarily all updates due to the Corona virus outbreak.
How do i flash ota file manually on non rooted phone?
1. Be sure you have the correct OTA file
2. Place the OTA file in a folder of the internal storage named "downloaded_rom".
3. Go to settings/about the phone/systemupdate and tick the 3 dots on the right top
4. Then tick "choose update package" with this text or similar and go to the folder where you copied the Ota file and choose that file
Then let the Ota file update do it's work and after reboot it is done.

The option "Choose update package" doesn't show up unless you tap the 11 in the Updater a few times, because manually installing a .zip is an advanced (duh) option.
Was assuming that people here would know.
