Download the AmLogic USB Burning Tool from Tanix Website.
Then follow the same directions from Tanix Website (it's a different board, but same directions).
Be aware this erases everything on it.
thank you
im aware of how to update
that wasnt my question ? my question was how does the box receive ota (over the air) updates

According to TANIX Support, the box doesn't receive OTA updates, you need to update manually.
Has anyone updated firmware via TWRP? I've installed TWRP via booting into andorid recovery but it doesn't seam that TWRP has been installed after installation procedure: it just runs into TWRP and I can't boot into in TWRP in any way other that repeating procedure with pushing reset button with plugging the power cable...
Help
Hi
I've just received my box and made the firmware update but blocked my box. Now i only get a blue light on top. No display. No answer from the reset button trying to reset it connected to tv or connected to pc for the burning tool.
Any sugestion?
This BOX is very good
Tanix TX9 PRO:
Antutu 7.0.2 Score:
49816
CPU: 25718
GPU: 4686
UX: 15362
MEM: 4050
BTW... Xposed worked...
... TWRP 3.1.1.1 worked (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74831127&postcount=2)
I changed my TX9 box a bit. Firmware 04.01.2018 ...
Instead of the Tanix Launcher, I installed the ALICE UX Launcher.
I have Xposed installed + Gravity BOX to make the last tasks visible (double click the HOME button) and added a RAM bar. The clock is now in the middle and I have removed the battery icon.
I do not understand why these functions are not delivered directly.
In the ALICE UX launcher you can see and close the recently opened tasks on the left side, but if I press ALT + TAB on my keyboard, will the last tasks still be displayed there, even though they have been terminated via the ALICE UX launcher?!? !
And I also updated the KODI app to 17.6.
I was able to take Xposed + TWRP 3.1.1.1 + ALICE UX from the smaller Tanix Tx3 mini.

Did you install TWRP permanently? How so?
@Manimecker:
No, i can´t install it permanently. It is just a .zip file.

I upgraded my TX9 to 20180104 this way using the built-in application Update / Backup
Steps:
1. Download the archive with the firmware from
https://www.chinagadgetsreviews.com...-2-stock-firmware-tanix-tx9-pro-tv-box-3.html
2. - if downloaded file has .rar extension 710MB (usually contains 3 files: firmware .zip + recovery.img + factory_update_param.aml) - unpack from it an archive with firmware file (TANIX TX9 PRO ota 20180104.zip)
or
- if downloaded file has .zip extension (TANIX TX9 PRO ota 20180104.zip - 704MB) can be used directly
3. Place the file to TX9 internal memory (root or downloaded files folder - simply any place where you can find the file )
4. Run Update / Backup through the Applications menu.
5. Click Select, wait until box scans all the files with the .zip extension on your device
6. Select the file with the firmware from the list and click update (should be TANIX TX9 PRO ota 20180104.zip)
Next, the machine copies the files and reboots, after the reboot, the system will be updated.
7. After upgrade factory reset is recommended

Bump!
I always have boot problems. stick with the boot logo.
I have to pull the power cable and start again.
sometimes the system boots up to the launcher and stays there.
maybe it's related to xposed?!?!
does anyone else have these boot problems?
No problems with my box - stock rom 20180104

Hi,
A thread has been created and was deleted.. so, as I tried it out, here are the steps..
Disclaimer : I m not responsible and report what has been working for my case which was as well leading to no data lost, no wipe so far.
Note : Having an alternate recovery (TWRP instead of 3e) would avoid a successfull any future phone update done through the menu. Updates will then have to be pushed with SP_Flash_Tool
Thanks : doogeemobile.com / original xda thread by gramolitero
What could be needed : -> Same tools and steps as the Doogee X5, except the Scatted for MT6735 and recovery.img files.
SP_Flash_Tools and Doogee X5 procedure
TWRP Recovery file, in English
+ Attached Scatter for Mediatek MT6735
- Optional- Doogee X5Pro Rom
Steps :
- Download/Unpack FlashTools, run Flash_tool.exe as an Administrator
- Select "Download Agent" and input MKT_AllInOne_DA.bin
- Select "scatter-Loading" and search MT6735_Android_scatter.txt
- Select "Download Only"
- Uncheck all boxes
- Checkmark and change the path of recovery file to be replaced.
- Make sure the connection is made through USB in the options (See screenshot)
- Turn off your phone, remove the battery and replace it after some seconds (and don't turn on the phone).
- Press “Download” button to start and connect your phone into the computer via USB data cable.
- The process will start and a red progress bar will appear after color purple, yellow.
- And green circles in a new window is then displayed.. -> OK
- Finish !

Once this recovery has been done.
- Boot the phone with Power and Vol+ simultaneously.
- Select "Recovery" with VolUp key, validate with VolDown key.
- Plug the phone to the PC, and drop the BETA-SuperSu.v220 on the SD Card
- Install SuperSU then reboot.
The phone is now rooted.. place to Xposed, or any apps through the TWRP recovery.

Sooo, im from Canada and it won't work over here cause the Band Frequencies are not selected. I can see the right one I need to select, but they are blacked out. Will rooting the phone unlock those bands so I can choose the right frequency for Canada?
Love the phone, just whish I could use it here
rooting will not change phone's band freq
why is no custom rom for this phone. . .so sad -_-
Hold your horses boys. It's a new phone so it will take some time until there is a custom ROM.
Hopefully someone will port the CyanogenMod to this nice mobile.
Something else, has anyone tried the OTG functions? Can it read a thumb drive properly? I hope it has V4L2 drivers when I receive mine.
Does the twrp recovery actually work. I've flashed it to my phone and it doesn't work. Has anybody got any other links. Also the website where the recovery file is linked is blocked by windows
Worked perfectly, thank you!
If this helps anyone, I had issues getting the drivers installed, I followed this thread here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180436
It kept appearing and disappearing in Device manager, just click it as soon as it appear and then install the drivers. If it disappears it does not matter at that point

Notes:
These are built with kernels from the latest Beelink GT-King (Amlogic S922X w/ w400 reference board) and Beelink GT1mini (Amlogic S905X2 w/ u212 reference board) firmware, but will probably work on any device based on the same reference boards.
The signed .ZIP files are suitable for installation with stock OEM recovery, but they use platform test keys and so might not work on builds requiring release keys.
If your device uses Android Verified Boot, there are additional measures you must take to successfully boot with a custom recovery partition.
Some OEM firmware have a stock recovery auto-restoration "feature" that will immediately replace TWRP after you reboot to system. The easiest workaround is simply to reboot to recovery immediately after the flash by holding the reset button. You can also try renaming /system/recovery-from-boot.p.
This is unofficial and unsupported, so the usual caveats apply. Since we don't flash the bootloader, you should be able recover from any problems...but nothing is guaranteed.

Sounds like your box is using AVB 2.0.
Can someone please assist with how to root the U211 devices? TWRP works great, SuperSu 2.82 installs successfully via TWRP but when the system boots, it's still not rooted.
Any help is greatly appreciated here

Do you perhaps have the DDR4 (S/N: B922X) version of the GT-King? This one was build for the LPDDR4 (S/N:922X) hardware revision.

Just hold the reset switch in for about 20 seconds while connecting power.
Fastboot mode is more of a challenge on the GT-King, since it can't get enough power from the USB cable by itself. You've got to hold the reset switch while simultaneously connecting both power and the USB cable to the back port.

And what to do to install Magisk correctly. The root is already on the Android 9 device. Unfortunately, the Magisk installation by TWRP has failed so far. Have any ideas? (applies to device and Amlogic S905X2 HK1 Play)

My understanding is that Ugoos doesn't use the platform keys, and so the .zip file won't work with the OEM stock recovery. You should be able to flash the .img file, though, from TWRP or dd with root. (Yes, I know that's a bit of a chicken-or-egg scenario, so you might need to use Amlogic's USB Burning Tool or update.exe.) Also, look to see if they've implemented AVB 2.0, which can also be a PITA to work around.

Yes that is what it means, I think his REF to TWRP-9.0 pretty much explains its for android 9 aka Pie only.
But there are many other recoverys that do work for Oreo...

I am starting to think it is because of "update" !! Before update all worked well...For now only stock A95X_F3_SLIM_M-9.0.0-201910281143 version working... after update it screw EON ( did not tried HBO GO )...
My provider is different (it is SBB and code is working)
Flash Problem
I cant go past 1%!!!
non of this roms are for A95X F3 Slim...
Download files - Bitdefender Trojan Warning
When selecting the mirror links to download the files Bitdefender warns of a trojan risk as does Malwarebytes.
I updated the A95X F3 SLIM software and now the EON mobile application does not work, previously with the old software the EON app worked ???
How do I install old software back on the A95X F3 box, where can I get it?
The application normally loads from the google play store, but when the application starts it shows this

file is damaged and flashing not work
hello guys
I hope someone could help me recover my box,A95x f3 air its been dead for almost 2 months now.
the box is recognized by the computer and usb burning tool, the light turns blue, but the flashing stops at 3% showing this message Romcode/Switch status/Identify/Error result.
I tried different roms ,even asked the vendor for the stock FW,nothing helped, I tried the sd burning card maker method but it didnt help neither because the box doesnt even boot ,no video output.
I have read in some forums that the Uboot might be corrupted, but unfortunately my knowledge about this is very limited.
any help would be appreciated, thank you.

You have the usb tool? If not find it.. (DO NOT CONNECT THE BOX) start the tool, add the image file and click start.. Now, using a toothpick press the reset button in the a/v port and while still pressing it connect the box to your pc.. it will automatically start rewriting the firmware..
Have fun

DEVELOPER NOTES
Enjoy the final release of atvXperience for S905W.
This update includes the latest version of AndroidTV.
Currently the build includes various preinstalled apps:
Netflix, Amazon Prime, VLC, ADB over Ethernet, SuperSU, All Google AndroidTV Apps,
Puffin TV Browser, Chrome and a lot more.
As usual, this release comes with atvX apps.
There's a power menu so that you can easily turn off or reboot the device.
┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛
╔═━────────────────────────────────━▒ ۞ ▒━───────────────────────────────────────━═╗
IMPORTANT
Your device might not be able to boot into update mode so you'll have to go to the
power menu and select 'Reboot to update via USB' to change or update the ROM.
This release doesn't include 'Double Press for Recents' or Status or Navbar, you have
to navigate, just like you do in MiBox and other Android TV devices.
╚═━────────────────────────────────━▒ ۞ ▒━───────────────────────────────────────━═╝
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━▲━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
NEXT STEPS?
Well, idk. Maybe there will be an update so you're able to use Status/Navigation bar
and double press for home for Recent Apps but for now, the build is usable and can be
used as a daily driver.
Enjoy and Regards,

Hi, if you still have your box original ROM, you can extract the remotecfg (vendor/bin), remote.cfg, remote.tab1 ~ 3 (or how many there are from vendor/etc), boot into atv ,use something like root explorer to copy the new configurations into the rom, reboot and the remotes should (theoretically) work.

Yes, I am there too!
Fixed it yesterday, remote is working!
Thank you for your time.
Thanks for this awesome rom!
Everything is smooth.
.
But after I flash the v4 ROM, my gen game joystick couldn't control my X96 mini anymore.
Now I want to downgrade to v2FF, but my computer couldn't identify the tv box through Amlogic usb burning tool v2.19.
Is there anyway to let my gamepad control the tv box?

I had to downgrade my TX3 Mini to v2FF and i had the same problem, I fixed it juping the pin 6 and 7 of the emmc and plug the usb cable to the box and the burning tool showed up. I believe this version modifies the boootloader beacause my screen stopped working con V4

Just use a screwdriver untill pc detects the tvbox in flash mode. Then remove the jumper and just flash the rom with erase booloader and auto reboot checkbox marked.
later i post a image if you can`t find the pin or the emmc.
Hello,
Great interface! I installed it via USB Burning Tool and it booted really quickly.
However, my remote doesn't work with it, and neither does using the Android TV Remote app on my phone.
It also doesn't get picked up as a device by Google Home so I could cast video to it.
Is there some sort of driver I need to install for connectivity?
Thanks for the help!

Hi - on the home screen there is a power menu. Click on that and when asked to allow ROOT access, click allow. Select the option to reboot to update via USB (make sure your device is connected to your PC and your AMLOGIC TOOL is running with the image you want loaded) and hit reboot. It will now connect to your PC and start flashing. Alternatively you can open the Terminal Emulator app in the App Drawer and type "reboot update" to reboot into USB update mode.

After pressing reboot via usb, the box access recovery.
And the AMLOGIC TOOL still not detect the box, nothing happen.
Hey, I wanted to share with you people a little experiment I've been trying.
We have been seeing a lot of 9.0 ROM's come to our Amlogic devices and when I found out about the presence of the Project Treble on these I wondered about the possibility of booting Certified Images, like the Mi Box S, on my device.
So I installed DaivietPDA 9.0 for TX5 Pro ROM (which is the one I found to work best on my device, other ROM's such as ATVXPERIENCE should work as well), downloaded an OTA Image for Mi Box S 9.0 update, converted the system.new.dat.br to system.img, used TWRP to install the system and VOILA!!! IT BOOTED!! Everything is working perfectly, WIFI, Bluetooth, etc, etc. (Even with different wifi chips, since the vendor is untocuhed). One amazing thing I also noticed is that finally I was getting Play Store Certification. Also, don't forget to disable Chromecast app it won't work without certification, will just make your device slower.
It would be pretty interesting for someone with a AOSP ROM 9.0 who wants to get Android TV. I also thought about the possibility of booting ROM's from Android 10 devices like the Chromecast with Google TV but I don't think it will be possible since those devices will be using vndk29 while the 9 ROM's are vndk28 but I could be wrong, on the same thought I'm not sure if other Amlogic chipsets such as S912, S905X2, etc will be compatible as well as I don't own one personally but if someone could test, would be appreciated.
Anyway, I'll leave down bellow what I've used to get it booted and some screenshots (even though you're already familiar with Android TV UI). If you think I should do a more detailed tutorial let me know and most importantly I want to get some feedback from other people who try this.

Nope, widevine keys are hidden in bootloader.
gr8 work bro, actually i was searching for a certified ATV Rom and play store.
my device is x96 Max 4/64 aml s905x2 u212 running XTM_X96M4G_ATV9_V1_0 (XTMOD v1 custom rom).
the question is what about flashing the update directly without the Rom you used??
Ok Here's What I found playing with this, may be helpful for someone
I Tried Flashing From Many Firmware's (At least 8 Different 9.0 Firmware's Some Android TV Others Not TV) And Davietpda (Namely Version I Used: aml_upgrade_package_s905x-tx5-atv9-v6-fix-ce AP6212) was the only firmware to successfully boot into TWRP (other roms would fail to install TWRP with a error about permissions or if it did install it would not get past the TEAMWIN boot logo so couldn't try to install the system.img)
Using The Davietpda v6 firmware worked but i had no Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Or Remote Control (Only HDMI CEC & USB)
I Attempted To Repackage Davietpda Firmware With The Vendor Partition Replaced With one From an older davietpda firmware that my Wi-Fi & Remote Worked in (This Is Actually V1 of Davietpda ap6212 But NOT in v6 With Wi-Fi my Wi-Fi being AP6212a, The "A" variant seems to need different nvram)) This Was Unsuccessful
I Then Made A USB Burn Tool IMG with Only V1 Davietpda Vendor Partition and flashed this using USB Burn Tool
After Flashing The Image And Letting The System Try & Boot, it failed to boot and came up with recovery options, After A Factory Reset Here my system booted with working Wi-Fi Bluetooth & Remote Control
In The Time Since Posting This I Have Crafted 2 Base Firmwares (Not Android TV) To Flash Over, Then Created 3 TWRP Install Zip Files
● If Wi-Fi Already Works,
● For Ap6212a (The A Variant Needs Different NVRAM.txt) & Maybe Others
● Universal Version That Should Install Over Treble Enabled Firmware (Using TWRP & This Is Untested)
without sounding stupid what boxes would your method work with?

ok another stupid question, why not just install the base firmware directly first??
Not a stupid question at all that's how we learn and I'm not sure what you mean by this but I assume this is what you wear looking for awnser wise, the firmware is only released as an OTA update package so needs files & partition layout from a base FW to update to

wifi drivers from android 7 wont work in android 8+ due to newer kernel, drivers would need to be compiled for 4.19 kernel (not android 7 3.14)
