Unless and until you install a kernel with quick charge support, nope it's useless. And also even if u do, just rather don't get it, because the phones internals are not made to support it. :'(

Kernel doesn't matter, Mido has hardware protection limiting charging current to 2A.
U can implement QuickCharge 4 kernel if you want, but it will still charge with 2A.

Redmi 3 Pro with Qualcomm Quickcharge 2.0?

Hey... Got my Redmi 3 Pro last week, this is a fantastic device!
I read a lot about it before I bought it but there is one question left: does it support Qualcomms Quickcharge 2.0?
Read about it in another forum, they couldn't give an answer. Also there is a list made by Qualcomm about the devices that support Quickcharge, there are some Xiaomi devices but no Redmi.
Is there anyone out there who can say yes or no?
Thanks

Thank you... And how much faster is it? Can you tell me your charging time?

No.
So, yes and no like always.
Well, as far as I know, the thing is like that: the soc (snap 616) does support Qualcomm QuickCharge, but the device itself doesn't, because it isn't just about having a specific processor.. It requires also a certain level of quality in all the other components (and Redmi3, being a low end device, doesn't have it)
Redmi 3 only supports the "standard" 2A quick charge.. I have never tried checking the actual charging time.. I believe it is around 2,30 to 3 hours

What do you want? OF course it does not support! Just read about that phone before asking this question .... Do you really think it would have never been written? @volpe96 gave you a answer.

Thanks... The phones price tag is low end, the specs are midrange. When you look what devices Qualcomm Quickcharge 2.0 support, then the Redmi 3 Pro could also support it https://www.qualcomm.com/documents/quick-charge-device-list
Even the bigger brother the Redmi Note 3 supports it.
@MTK6589 If you don't want to answer then let it be. I'm no noob who buys a phone, crashes it and asks in different threads how to repair it. I read a lot about the Redmi 3 Pro, but that is the only thing that wasn't clear. You're very unfriendly in my opinion, don't know why!

I know the specs are midrange.. But the quality of the materials (probably) is not.. And i am talking about the USB connector, the battery, inner filaments, and so on.. Not every piece of metal is capable of tolerating a big current through it without being damaged

Could it upgrade to MiUi 9.0?

QC 2.0 or even 3.0 charging for Redmi Note 4X?

does the Redmi Note 4X (possibly with a custom ROM only?) support QC 2.0 or even 3.0 fast charging? The Snapdragon 625 "per se" does support QC 3.0 charging.
If not, does a QC 3.0 charger "hurt"/"damage" the RN4X?
Maybe if we have kernel source...

No, it won't hurt your phone. I use Anker charger which has QC 3.0 and everything works fine. It won't hurt you device because most of the chargers which supports QC, have many power outputs. For example, 5V/2A, 9/1.5A etc... In the case if your phone doesn't support QC, the charger will provide just 5V/2A, or as much Amps as the phone can take. Don't worry. When they made the chargers they made it universal and they thinked about that.

Going To buy Redmi Note 4X

Guys..
I'm going to buy Redmi Note 4x. And I'm new to Xiaomi.
I have some questions
1. What is the best SOT you got from Redmi 4x and also tell me what Rom you are using?
2. I heard that Audio recording is very poor in RN4x. Is that true? If yes is there anyway to fix it??
3. How about overall camera quality in Rear And front both Cameras ??
4. What if I Flash Lineage Os ? Then how will be the battery on Lineage Os?
Hope you guys will help me out.

1. I got 10+hrs once. Nowadays I get about 8-9hrs SOT. I mostly browse using Chrome, not pretty much, but I'm quite sure that you'll get most of it. It's depends upon the usage and yeah, battery life is almost same on MIUI & Custom ROMs.
2. There's a fix available I guess, check general section.
3. Camera is good on MIUI, but it's buggy on Custom Roms atm.
4. See point #1

1. And there is a another question. I'm gonna buy this from Aliexpress. most sellers have chinese version with global miui. Is there massive difference between chinese version and international version? I mean hardware changes??
I live in Sri Lanka. Does it support Network bands of Sri Lanka?
2. How about 5- 100% charging time with original charger comes with box?
3. Does this support Qualcomm quickcharge?

1. AFAIK, there's not much really.
Why don't you get the device from India then? (it's possible?)
2. 3hrs for me
3. Nope, not yet.

NFC??

Does the Poco F1 have NFC (at least in europe)??? I read somewhere that it doesnt have NFC, which would suck, since Google Pay just started here in Germany...
As far as we've seen specs, they all indicate it doesn't come with NFC, I guess it's a small trade they made for a cheaper phone (small for me since I don't use it)
No NFC. Read the reviews from Android Authority and GSMArena. The Verge also covered the phone.
I don't mind since there are no other SD845 phones under $399. They had to cut corners. NFC and IP cert are usually on the chopping block as far as features go...
No it does not have nfc
People in India don't need NFC. Because we barely use it. In the last five years I never used NFC. Maybe for Europe people their transport system has payments with NFC so they'll face an issue.

I never use NFC for payment. But using NFC for sending files (android beam) or transferring file from old phone to new one (if both support NFC) are pretty neat!
I am still confused. Many places say it doesn't have it but some websites (XDA included) state it does. Could someone verify?
Maybe its possible to Upgrade NFC with a NFC enabled Back Cover. WE need a tear down Video already!
The specs given initially on XDA included NFC. But it handy seems this was not correct - the post has been ammended to state "no NFC", consistent with other reports and hands-on videos I've seen.
I've never come across an external NFC device for any phone. Would be a handy device to have, though it would presumably occupy the usb-c, which in itself would be a PITA
Someone on another forum raised an interesting idea. There were the initial ideas that the F1 might have NFC. It was suggested that either the European version might have NFC or even that all versions might have NFC but that it might not be enabled in the Indian ROM.
To check this, if anyone has an F1, could they please install DevCheck from XDA or Play and just check on the hardware page to verify that NFC hardware is not present.
Thanks a million

Hi Sanjay, that's the case on my Hong Kong / international version too - i think naff47 is asking about the European version (if that's different from the international one - highly doubtful I'd have thought). I read from someone in the Netherlands that it had launched there (it's available on import from China pretty much everywhere), but haven't seen this confirmed.
Time will tell

Hongkong probably will be made in China, whereas mine is made in India.
Not too sure if there is any other manufacturing facility for our phone
Plus I don't think NFC will add that much to the cost that they will put it in selectively.
The only way to use NFC with the F1 is by getting Samsung S3 Fronier smart watch. That will connect to the F1 and the watch has NFC. I tested it and it works great. You need to use Magisk hide if you're rooted,
There is no NFC built into the Poco.

Great to hear you've found that setup works!
Just to check, have you managed to write to tags as well as read from them?
I won't be shelling out on a Samsung smart watch, but if that works, there's hope for other smart watches!

Who is gonna spend that much and that also in country like India.
but in India we use Mostly Paytm, PhonePe, BHIM UPI etc. apps which are UPI based apps so We don't need NFC must Have.
UPI is the standard way from Indian Government to Pay Digitally even with Low End Phones, and this phone is made accordingly!

support for quick charge 4.0 or 4+?

Guys MR Jai Mani in one of his tweets told that Poco fone supports Qualcomm quick charge 4.0.
But did say that the diffrence between 3.0 and 4.0 aren't that noticeable.
First of all wonderful to hear that it's supported.
But
1. Does anyone really know how fast does qc 4.0 work.
2. Why is this device not listed under QC 4.0 supported devices in the Qualcomm website. And any method to check if our device is supported?
Guys if anybody has any experience with qc 4.0 or may know of a way to watch a qc4.0 charging speed test, kindly provide the info.
afaik the main difference between them is more safer to charge at higher amps

Check twitter for Poco India or the posters they've been putting in the last two days, it says they support qc 4.0 and as an additional info they say Poco F1 is certified splash.

I was shopping for a QC 4 charger and found this - it seems (correct me if I'm wrong) there is minimal difference between the standards.
Don't suppose anyone can recommend a decent cheap compatible fast charger for the pocophone - I guess that would be qc3. I'm terrible for losing chargers and cables so I like to have a few spares.
Are all qc3 chargers and usb-c cables created equal, or is it like microusb, where I've had some that charge well, others that barely trickle?
Any suggestions?
Does anyone know whether the global version also supports QC4+?
Does europe version have QC 4.0+ and splash resistance?
AFAIK, the F1 supports qc4 (not 4+, though the standards are minimally different) and though it has no splash proof certification, it can handle a bit of rain and even (it's claimed) a dunk (though it has lots of moisture sensors inside, so don't tempt fate)

It seems pocophone f1 supports quick charge 4.0 and 4 plus as from the qualcomm device list
The qualcomm device list lists "Xiaomi Poco F1" but not "Xiaomi Pocophone F1".
Is it possible that only the Indian version supports it but not Global?
