I have the worlds most annoying software update notification, but it just boots into TWRP. is there a flashable version anywhere or a way to get rid of the notification I'm missing as I can't find a way to hide it.
Update: I blocked LG SmartWorld and that seemed to work
No it didn't.... Still need help
Long-press the notification to bring up its quick settings. From there, you can either block it completely, or go to More Settings and set a custom notification level (by tapping the A and dragging the slider between points). The app/package responsible should also be displayed at top so you can go and disable it, if you want.
This is all based on Resurrection Remix N, everything might be slightly different in LG's ROM...but I believe the inline options after long-pressing and More Settings button are both basic Nougat features.

It would seem that you can't block LG system notifications the option just isn't there.

On the G4, you had to block LGDMSClient.apk (com.lge.lgdmsclient) to stop the update.
I see a LGDMProvisioningClient in the System apps on the V30.

It's just an OTA partial firmware. On the US998 it was less than 200MB. Whereas the full firmware version is 3.2GB. If you want the full firmware, you use LG Bridge, choose update firmware/error recovery -- and the phone will download the full firmware to your PC. After updating your phone, that firmware image is then deleted. But you can open the update log, see the exact download link.
That's how I got this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/us998-lg-v30-market-us998-t3736910
I even posted the download link for others to download straight from LG or they can use the mirror where I uploaded the image.

I guess I'm not clear why you would want partial firmware (a half eaten 188MB candy bar) when you can have the full 3.2GB firmware (nice meal) very easily by clicking on either of the download links on my thread. One of them is downloading straight from LG.
And you will know EXACTLY where it downloads to, your Download folder.
I don't know where the OTA files downloads to, and I don't want to know. I'd rather always flash full firmware, instead of OTA.

OK so the guy from eBay used his JTAG to help me after I put the phone back to 9008 manually. So at the moment both my V30 and V35 are out of 9008.
The V35 originally was ATT variant and when it came up in DL mode LGUP recognized it as LMV350AWM...I couldn't find any AWM to download besides ULM so I flashed ULM and it's now bootloops with the Safety warning display. At least I see some picture from it since I bought it lolz..
The V30 is in download mode now and being recognized by LGUP as US99810a ( I bought this used and the seller posted it as ATT) so learning from the V35 should I go with what LGUP recognizes and flash US99820b ???
or go with ATT H931??? , I'm not sure if the guy sold it to me knew what it was...
If I can't get them out of softbrick then we'lll just have to use the test point and put them back to 9008
My other option is to use LG Mobile Support tool and do a update recovery based on my IMEI

Here you go. For V35 (which is not a JOAN V30 variant -- it's a completely different phone) you want the ones that say "open" -- which means they are not locked to a carrier.

Bottom link is for Central/South America -- but if you use that, you do NOT want Claro. You want the other one (carrier unlocked) MIA.

Hello Verizon V10 Community,
I was able to locate the full KDZ file for the Verizon V10 software version 11B, the latest available for the VS990. I personally have the V10 and it's already on 11B but I have a friend who just received his V10 in the mail today and it had 10B on it so I plugged his into my computer and the Verizon Upgrade Assistant downloaded the 11B KDZ. I have saved it, uploaded it and am making it available anyone who may need it.
You can download it from Android File Host here in a RAR archive: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24438995911975083
Alternatively, you can download it directly from LG's servers here: http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW25NOE3325BACQF4BA4K6T/VS99011B_04_ARB00.kdz
MD5 of KDZ file when downloaded from AFH (NOT the rar file): 7f971f72b81945ad1f06df56300b6bae
You will need to use LGUP to flash this KDZ, which you can download from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24459283995297690. After you have installed LGUP, you will need to extract the 'common' folder from the LGUP rar archive and put it in: C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model. (See attached screenshot) This 'common' folder contains the DLL file that is needed for LGUP to recognize the Verizon variant of the V10. There are other downloads of LGUP in other forums here in XDA which contain other installers in addition to the LGUP installer. The other installers install DLL files for other variants of the V10 which are not needed for the Verizon variant. The DLL I've included in the 'common' folder is all you need for our Verizon variant.
Enjoy

I've not yet tried flashing this KDZ but I'm going to assume we can use the LGFlashTool to flash this as the cool new LGUP program that has appeared recently in the G4 forums does not work with the V10. I tried it and the program won't even open when my V10 is attached to my computer. I'm guessing it needs a DLL file installed to work. If anyone knows where I can find one, please let me know.
I assure you this is not a fake. This is a genuine KDZ file downloaded directly from Verizon Upgrade Assistant. If anyone here decides to flash it, please let me know what program you used and the outcome of the process.

Same process I posted back in Jan about getting the .KDZ and the post to go along with it. I was unable to get the .KDZ file to flash to the phone. The version also had much userdata included in the file which is why I never released the file.

I'm not sure what version I tried but I had many different versions of the software but didn't want to run into a bricked phone and didn't have much time to spend on trying and failing with personal things going on.
LGUP isn't recognizing the KDZ file. It sees the TOT however. Any way to fix this?
EDIT: Just had to choose the Update radial instead of Refurbish.
I believe upgrade is tot only and refurbish is kdz and tot. Or vice versa.
We just got our upgrade to marshmallow is going to be possible to obtain root for it?

Lg v1o bootloop
Hi guys, I'm James and I live in mexico. I'm Argentinean. A month ago I bought the LG V10 and then use it normally, one day I restarted the phone all the time and now stays at the logo screen. I know it is operational, the software system. But I took my phone to a technician famous city where I live repair and told me not found support for the cellular putting on new software. You think you can help me? Please . If necessary I will do it myself. What I find something silly and illogical is that he has not found support for the LG V10. Sorry for my English if there are errors. Thank you.
This post works to solve my problem with the LG 10 VERIZON?
Lg v1o bootloop
This process solves my problem? I have a lg v10 vs990w and restarts all the time. It is software or hardware? I can fix it? please help!
Title says it. I'm requesting a stock LGUP partition dump from an LG V30. Please provide one from version 20o or 20k. Preferrably unrooted, stock, minimum alterations, and NO 'FRANKENSTEIN' cross-flashed H932 devices! I'm going to test to see if a system dump from a T-Mobile H932 can allow me to unlock LTE band 71 on all LG V30 (JOAN) variants. I discovered I could unlock LTE band 12 on my Verizon VS996 -> USA OPEN US998 Frankenstein phone. Though I cross-flashed, I couldn't get LTE band 12. I fixed it by creating a flashable H931 (AT&T) zip from partitions I found online. Most importantly, flashing modem, modemst1, and modemst2 alone seems to have fixed my issue. I do realize doing this could brick my device, as the H932 has a different RSA key than all the other variants.
The issue: The 3 hidden LTE band selection menus (LG LTE Band Selection, TMO Only, and iot band selection) don't really enable all LTE bands that the V30 (JOAN) supports. Band 71 is for sure sabotaged on all devices but the H932, and the hidden menu doesn't seem to enable it. Similarly for me, no hidden menu could enable band 12 for me, maybe because I was coming from a Verizon VS996 (though this is a special case, no one else has reported this).
The fix: Flash working modem, modemst1, and modemst2 partitions from a working T-Mobile H932. OR flash working H932 modemst1 and modemst2 partitions only. OR flash working H932 system, boot, modem, modemst1 and modemst2 partitions.
*I've flashed an H932 modem before onto my Frankenstein phone without issue, and no bootloop. So maybe it is not RSA-locked...
Anyways, kindly upload your T-Mobile H932 dump (zipped). It can be around 8GB unzipped, and then 3.2GB zipped.
LGUP Install Procedure:
1. Download and install LG USB drivers (under USB Driver) here
2. Download and install LG UP 1.14.3 from here
3. Download .dll file for LG V30 here
4. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model
5. Create folder called "common" and unzip the .dll file inside of it.
LGUP Patch Procedure:
1. Extract (confirm replace, yes) LGUP+V30DLL_PATCHED.zip to C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP
2. Extract LGUP_common.dll in LGUP_common_DLL_V30_ALLVARIANTS.zip to C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\common
3. Reboot computer
LGUP Dump Procedure:
1. Update software to latest H932 20o (check for system updates)
2. Turn off phone
3. Connect micro usb cable to computer
3. Hold volume up button and connect the usb cable
4. Open LGUP
5. Select DUMP
6. DON'T select partitions: userdata or data, and cache.
7. Click OK
8. Create a ZIP from all the partition dumps (should be around 30 files)
9. Upload ZIP to Google Drive or MEGA.

It is possible to have a H932 -> US998 Frankenstein by merely flashing system and boot. Which definitely don't have an RSA key. Why would I have a reason to lie about my situation? It is not impossible for these two scenarios to happen.

I wrote the instructions for Frankenstein and there's very little you can cross flash between the other North American variants and T-Mobile H932. Not enough to call it Frankenstein.
@runningnak3d is the expert on this, and I deferring him. (This below is quote from @runningnak3d, but some apps don't show the quote reference. So view in web browser.)

Here is the list of all files that are flashed in a KDZ that are signed with the RSA cert. If just ONE of these doesn't match the key in your CPU, you will probably have a 9008 brick. Some just won't load, and your phone won't work until you flash the proper KDZ (for example modem), but the fact of the matter is -- it is NOT possible to crossflash ANY of these files IF the RSA key in your CPU doesn't match the signature on these files:
Code:
ablbak.image
abl.image
apdp.image
cmnlib64bak.image
cmnlib64.image

If you have an unlocked bootloader, this is the list of files that you can flash without worrying about the RSA key:
Code:
boot.image
recoverybak.image
recovery.image
lafbak.image
laf.image
system.image
userdata.image
If you do not have an unlocked bootloader, and you flash one of the above files WITHOUT flashing the corresponding abl, you will bootloop and never be able to fix your phone. So, if you have a locked bootloader, then you must flash ALL of the partitions listed as being checked by the RSA key, and ALL of the partitions listed here. If you don't -- you will not have a working phone.
And finally, this is the list of files that you can cross flash that aren't checked by the RSA key in the CPU nor dm-verity:
Code:
cache.image
carrier.image
drm.image
eksst.image
encrypt.image
eri.image

1) the whole point of Frankenstein is to carrier unlock the phone and/or get fastboot flash commands to unlock the bootloader. Frankenstein is done BEFORE bootloader unlock. The two partitions you mention require bootloader unlock. Even if theoretically possible, no one is going to flash those from H932 onto their carrier unlocked, bootloader unlocked phone for any reason whatsoever. Why would they? They already have what they need , and it would only potentially mess up their phone in many different ways.
2) There's tons of Frankensteined North America variants on T-mobile (AS998, VS996, H931, H933 converted to US998) - - including Wi-Fi calling, which I'm pretty sure requires LTE band 12 - - and no one else except you has said they can't get it? I am glad you fixed your problem, but as you mentioned in your post, only you have reported it.
I say if you DL partition with dev patched LGUP, it will overwrite the partitions, including modem partitions. I can't see how your modem partitions stayed as VS996.

If you can bring LTE band 71 to other V30 models, then more power to you.
We aren't disagreeing about that. I hope you succeed.

Did you use the hidden menu to choose LTE bands? I made that mistake, it sticks on the last one you choose. I started a thread about it and there's a solution.

I get Dolby in the LG music app, but not the actual icon.
I'm guessing that the same reasons the different v20 got real Dolby applies to the v30 as well.

@potato21 If you want the H932 modem just download one of the H932 TWRP flashable zips and extract it. It is most definitely RSA signed, however, the hole in the US998 abl that allows the WTF unlock method to work may also break the boot chain of trust. In other words .. yes, you may be able to flash the H932 modem. That is what sucks about the fact that abl is encrypted .. can't decompile to check.
As for getting a dump of modemst1 and 2 .. someone will have to dump them with LG UP, or if they are rooted, just boot to TWRP and use dd.
To anyone willing to do it .. you IMEI is contained in fsg, so you are safe sending st1 and st2.

Modem is installable. no rsa on it(that works properly) however it fails hardware checks. so it wont start. It might be possible to hex some changes in to allow it to start on the other models though.

The modem firmware is most certainly RSA signed, and *usually* verified by abl in the boot chain of trust. If you can flash the H932 modem on a WTF rooted phone, that means that whatever eff-up that LG did with that abl broke the boot chain of trust:
Code:
binwalk -e modem.img --dd="x509"
openssl asn1parse -inform DER -in 1D2A8.crt
0:d=0 hl=4 l=1164 cons: SEQUENCE
4:d=1 hl=4 l= 884 cons: SEQUENCE
8:d=2 hl=2 l= 3 cons: cont [ 0 ]
10:d=3 hl=2 l= 1 prim: INTEGER :02
13:d=2 hl=2 l= 3 prim: INTEGER :0E1CA0
18:d=2 hl=2 l= 13 cons: SEQUENCE
20:d=3 hl=2 l= 9 prim: OBJECT :sha256WithRSAEncryption
<snip>
499:d=5 hl=2 l= 3 prim: OBJECT :organizationalUnitName
504:d=5 hl=2 l= 25 prim: UTF8STRING :01 0000000000000004 SW_ID
So, that opens up a world of possibilities if LG screwed up and broke the chain of trust and you are able to flash H932 firmware onto other devices. You wouldn't be able to flash xbl or abl (obviously), but other than that you could convert a phone to an H932.
Remember the PBL verifies XBL, and XBL verifies ABL. If the chain of trust stops there ... the LG V30 may be the most awesome phone currently in production.

You do NOT want to send someone that complete dump. Sending modemst1 and modemst2 is OK, but there are a lot of files from a full dump that contain info that is specific to your phone -- for example (from your dump) fsg_COM5 contains your IMEI, serial number, and other info. misc_COM5 contains your serial number, and (while not very important) your bt and wifi MAC addresses.

Odd. Did you flash the twrp image, and then boot the image? as per the WTF instructions?
What command, specifically, are you entering, and then getting this message?
Sounds like twrp didn't install. Make sure you go through all the steps from WTF correctly

Normally we only see that on U.S. T-Mobile H932 which has crappy McAfee installed. Has to be uninstalled before factory reset or you get that error message. Do you have something like that installed?

Personally I have never seen that McAfee stuff on my H932, but maybe it's something you have to deliberately install first.
But we have had others report about this error. As I have posted before, I think it is just "something" (McAfee or whatever) trying to save you from wiping the phone in a way that would trigger Android Factory Reset Protection: The entire point of FRP is to render the phone useless to anyone but the legitimate owner, in case it is wiped from outside the OS while an account is active in the OS. That is a sensible protection. I always wondered why LGs Master Reset (using the buttons) doesn't warn about this before proceeding with its wipe.
But if indeed the error reported by OP is caused by such "protection against unintended triggering of FRP" then the solution should be to remove the Google account in the OS before performing any actions that would wipe the phone outside the OS (LGUP, Master Reset, TWRP etc). Alternatively, perform a Factory Reset from inside the OS first, which also will remove the account in a way that doesn't trigger FRP.
Arguably, this should be mentioned in the various root/WTF/Frankenstein guides, since FRP can have unintended consequences, say in case a user flashes the phone back to stock before selling it or sending it in for repair, and doesn't remove his/her account first. In that case the phone will (or should) demand that the same account be entered on first boot -- and the new owner or repair center would be stuck.
But maybe LGUP Refurbish mode clears FRP, and that's why we don't get more complaints about it...
I apologize if this turns out to be completely unrelated to the error reported by OP
Don't worry I've been through this problem and solution ia simple.
-Boot the phone in normal.
-Plug in the usb cable in your phone and connect to the computer.
-Then type "adb reboot bootloader". When u boot into fastbooot then type "fasboot boot recovery or whatever u named the file.
-Then u will boot into twrp.
I was sold a refurbished v30 off Amazon that had this kill switch enabled also when trying to go into TWRP. I had to return it because it might have been stolen.

I bought a V30 on ebay, is a LS998 Frankenstein, the problem is that the installed ROM is the AS998 and not the US998, it has the kill switch problem. Some way to solve it? There are no public LS998 KDZ available.
Which US998 KDZ did you try? If you read the Frankenstein instructions you need to start with US998 Nougat first.
Yes, of the North America V30 variants, only US998 has full fastboot flash commands.

I ran across this before where some dealer probably used Octopus box to convert LS998 to AS998 and the new owner couldn't then convert to anything else...
All I can suggest is you try Board DL or Refurbish mode.
Is wiping the system partition the same thing as factory data reset? Will that trigger ye' old kill switch?
I ask, because I've run into the cross-flash warning once before while trying to flash US998 while on VZ996. To get rid of that message, I simply wiped my system partition in TWRP and was then able to use LGUP with the US998 KDZ.
So if you can wipe your system partition, then maybe it will get you to a spot where you can kdz?
I got it!
After many attempts, use a LGUP that I found in the LG G7 forum, the difference is that it was from CLI, restore the KDZ Nougat, when restarting appeared a screen with the android doll and the text without command. The next step was not clear, I pressed all the buttons with different convincing. The phone restarted several times and remained in the same window, in one of those attempts I went to the LG logo and to the initial configuration, the phone was blocked by google. Surely this is the reason why the seller installed the ROM AS998.
Turn off the phone and from LGUP update to the Oreo version. Again the error of blocking by google. On YouTube I found a tutorial to bypass this step. Now I am in the US99820b version. I followed the steps to unlock the bootloader, I had a problem with the USB cable, I must use a good quality cable. The problem of the message "factory data reset is disabled by kill switch" continues, but I can enter TWRP from fastboot.
I will try to install a ROM from TWRP and see if the message disappears.

You can also enter TWRP using the Recovery Reboot app I recommend in the WTF instructions.
US998 20B is old (but necessary for bootloader unlock). You should update to US998 20H. Download 20E, 20F, 20G, 20H and dirty flash back-to-back, using TWRP auto queue function -- with flashing Magisk last.

NO. You need to be on newest firmware before flashing any AOSP/Lineage ROMs due to recent changes. That's where people mess up. They try to go from old Oreo or even Nougat (H932) firmware to custom ROMs. You need foundation of newest firmware. Read post #2 of this sticky:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/root-v30-t3927154
A whole lot of recent posts in Lineage are about people not updating their stock firmware first.
Here's the US998 KDZ/TWRP-flashable thread:

Typing 'adb reboot bootloader' just reboots the phone like normal.
When I manually enter the bootloader via the volume down and power button trick, it's not recognized by the computer.

Continue Power up
Safe mode
Factory data reset
Wipe cache
Power down
Yes folks, it's the recovery partition, not the bootloader.

I did that, but whatever I do, I still get the "Not support cross model download" error.
Never was an icon created on my desktop for LGUP.
Then again, when I plug in my phone when in download mode an exclamation is displayed over a "CDC Serial" device.
But it seems like that is unrelated, seeing as how when one selects "Partition DL" it changes to "USB Connection Established." when the select partition dialog is open. Of course I clicked cancel.
Any hints?

While you need to eventually get to US998 20a or 20b, we recommend flashing to
* USS98 Nougat first,
* doing a Master Reset (to stop bootlooping),
* then going to early US998 Oreo 20a or 20b.
Via Partition DL.
See Frankenstein instructions. Frankenstein is how all the North American variants -- EXCEPT T-mobile H932 -- convert to US998.
It's mentioned in the WTF instructions also, but some people have overlooked it.
The Frankenstein instructions have same version of Dev Patched LGUP attached, as well as separate download link from the dev.
Something is not being installed correctly. Maybe use another computer.
