Hi. Sorry if someone may have posted this already but I cant find my issue on here. I recently updated my kindle to the newest OS. Its never been rooted. The next morning after update my fire was on the system recovery. I tried reboot system and i got the amazon logo bootloop. I went back into recovery and tried to factory reset. It still bootloops and never reset. How can I put this kindle back to where it was after update but before recovery screen? I dont wanna root as to I just want it to be a kindle fire as originally intended. Any help would be appreciated. If u have instructions could u please make them easy to understand? Thanks again for any help.
Also, i bought a brand new kindle thats coming today. can i just copy something from that to fix the old one?

I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this. I woke up this morning and did a factory reset on my kindle fire HDX. When I checked the device version it stated I was on 13.3.2.3.2 whereas before I was on the latest update. Not being one to pass up on opportunity I rooted the HDX and accessed the system and renamed the otacerts. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do next? I'm a big noob when it comes to this tab it's way different from the other tabs I own.
backing up
Been doing some work. Risked installing hdxposed framework and module...which I have no idea what I would've done if I bricked it. Installed apex launcher and image 2 wallpaper app to fix the no wallpaper. Also widgets work. It seems to me you can do more with the root I'm just afraid I might brick it and not know what to do. What's the best way to backup my device in case it all goes wrong
I did have a rooted kindle fire hdx 7" running 3.2.4 quite happily but thought id fiddle with it to get the new nexus rom installed so i did the following
put the 13.3.0.0 installation on my kindle and tried to get it to update it would not co-operate. But as i left it i think it upgraded automatically to 3.2.5
firmware. I may have stopped this before completion im unsure and factory reset. it has however removed safestrap. the kindle is now displaying 13.3.0.0. ive tried putting a few img files on the kindle but its not recognizing the files and not allowing me to upgrade the firmware. The system is still rooted, id just like to get back to a nexus rom. I used the toolkit kfhdx to towelroot , Id apreciate some help. As Ive been playing with the system most of the day without success. Any help id be grateful

You are going to need to give some more info. What happened? What do you mean by it won't turn on? What version were you running?

I was on 3.2.3 then I rooted it with towelroot then i left it for an hour or so and came back to use it and it was dead it was fully charged so there's no reason fr tit to be dead, apart from something that went from the software and my computer comes up with usb not recognized or malfunctioned I've tried different unbricking tools but to no success im getting nothing from the kindle it wont even boot so i dunno what I've done wrong
Hmm. I have heard of similar things happening on 3.2.8, but not 3.2.3. Did you try to boot in recovery? Try holding down power and plus for a while.

Yeah sorry I ment 3.2.8 I have tried trying to getting into recovery but no success there as well so I'm not sure where to go from here
Oh, it may be beyond repair sorry. Look around the boards, but many people have had this happen. It was probably a botched ota update.

I agree with this assessment. If the device was at 3.2.8 and OTA was not blocked via HDX toolkit then Amazon likely pushed an update that bricked your device. Apparently the 3.2.8 rollback is not compatible with the 4.5.4 update currently being distributed. To date there have been no successful recoveries from this type of brick.
Blocking OTA with HDX toolkit is essential immediately after rolling back to 3.2.8.
I had Safetrap v4.01 running on my rooted kindle (4.5.2)
I have a copy of stock rom.
Long story short, I flashed gappz from Nexus v4 over the stock rom.
I still have Safetrap but it is disabled. Root doesn't work on my 4.5.2
And to make matters worse, I had rename the devicesoftwareota.apk to BAK to stop receiving updates. I have ADB yes, but not root. I checked. That's why it is semi bricked but I still have access to the system and SDCARD. -____- help is appreciated but it looks impossible. After taking care of root and stuff all the time, I feel like such a noob Ugh.

Problem solved.
After factory resetting (cringe) I know I know. Somehow I didn't encounter a brick but Safetrap was still installed and I had no home, back buttons ... So I tried the latest Kingroot.. And it didn't work.
HOWEVER thanks to a forum I read up on suggesting to try version 4.5.0 of Kingroot, I now have Root on my 4.5.2 Time to restore my stock kindle without the borked up version
Update: Even after receiving root, I couldn't access Safetrap. It was borked. I removed it, and re-installed. I pushed my backup Stock into TWRP/BACKUPS without deleting anything (just in case) and Restore said it failed but upon booting, I have my home button and back button again. ~ The end.
Hopefully, it helps someone with a similar issue.
Davey126 helped me fix my Kindle Fire HDX 7 that was stuck as No OS when I accidentally wiped and formatted it via twrp and now I am running Thor (Android version 4.4.4). I want to return my Kindle to the FireOS and I have tried flashing it via twrp but it says error updating binary in zip. I also tried the "full unroot" option in supersu and it just deleted SuperSU from my app list. I reflashed the Thor via twrp to get SuperSU back in case I needed it to unroot and return to FireOS 4.2.2.1. I am trying to get it back to stock because my WI-FI stopped working on it and I believe it is the antenna but not sure and when I went to Amazon for help they need my tablet's original serial number and other information and I can't access the things they need with it rooted and running Thor. I am hoping to get this fixed but I know they won't help me if they know it is rooted. If you could point me in the right direction for accomplishing this unroot I would be eternally grateful.

A couple terminology clarifications:
- "Thor" refers to the device type (7" third gen HDX) independent of ROM
- Your device is currently running Fire Nexus which is based on Android 4.4.x
Unfortunately, there is no (reasonable) way to return your device to pure stock. You can replace Fire Nexus with a special build of FireOS and remove root but it will always be 'custom'. Amazon bears part of the blame for this as they did not provide a mechanism for reloading FireOS on 3rd and 4th gen devices.
Your device is out of warranty. Amazon will not be able to help with a hardware problem even if you supplied the requested info. It's also unlikely the antenna would spontaneously go bad...especially given the way in which it is internally routed.
Can you provide more details on when WiFi stopped working? Guessing this is a setting/software issue although a hardware fault is not out of the question.
I have been on CM11 for years now and wish to revert back to FIRE OS. How can this be done? I looked around but didn't see how.
EDIT: I found how. Sorry to bother you.
