My device is not powering on because it shows that the battery level is low even though it's not.
A couple days ago my device just powered off without a prompt or anything. I was using my browser and all of a sudden it powered off. I tried to turn it on but got nothing. Then I connected it to the charger and the display showed the battery icon and the LED showed red. I tried powering on then but it wouldn't start. The Sony logo would come up and then go off again. This happened a couple times and I connected and disconnected it from the charger a couple times and after a moment it started normally. It happened again later but started back up after connecting it to a charger. The next day it happened again with the Sony logo showing and turning off again continuously and all the while the LED is red. Blinking red twice, showing the battery icon, then the Sony logo and turning off again. But now its not showing anything. I connect it to a charger which shows a red battery icon for a few seconds and then black screen but with red LED. I had LineageOS rom installed so I thought to flash stock ROM again which might solve the problem but now I can't get the device in flashmode to flash the ftf.
(IDK if this is relevant or no but a year and maybe half ago I had a problem with the battery. The phone took about 5-6 hrs of charging and discharged in 4-5 minutes. I went to the service centre and they told me it was a software problem which they fixed.)
Can anyone suggest on what to do? Any help will be appreciated.

this might seem irrelevant but trust it isn't, if you have the TA partition already backed up you should restore it, when you do your problem would be solved, I had same issues, and it turns out that the TA partition contains everything the phone should do to boot up, and what to do, its like a blueprint that the phone follows, I restored the phones TA partition and everything was fine again, flash advanced kernel TWRP via fastboot in flashtool, and instal a stock firmware from there and as soon as you can boot the phone in the system restore the TA partition and flash stock ROM via the Xperia Companion, Thats exactly how I solved my issue

Okay. I restored the TA Backup, flashed stock firmware but now the device won't boot up. It's stuck on that blue wavy screen. I waited for about half an hour but no change.

My phone was running at about 60% battery last night, and working fine. It was in my pocket and it vibrated. I was unable to turn it on or reboot it, even after removing the battery. I tried using the battery from my wife's S2 but still no luck. I tried connecting the power supply but it still wouldn't boot so I left it charging overnight.
This morning it alternately flashed a fully green battery and a fully black battery. If I press and hold the power button it starts the boot process - I get past the Samsung splash screen and see the first "Resurrection Remix" splash screen, but then it reverts to displaying the green battery.
Any ideas for how I can revive the phone??

Ok We cant say its bricked!! Because its booting up but not coming to homescreen rite? Are u able to get into recovery or download mode?? If ur able o then wipe the data cache and dalvik cache, reinstall the ROM again.. If Recovery doesnt shw up.. Then Use ODIN to flash original fw!! Even if u still couldn get it.. Order a USB JIG from Ebay and try getting into DOWNLOAD MODE!! Even after this its still working means ITS BRICKED !!
Start download mode and the flash a new stock firmware . And your phone isnt bricked .!
This is why I always make a backup.
If you can get into download mode you can fix it, if you can't it's a service centre job. Pretty simple really.
Try cleaning charging port..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Uh oh...I managed to get into Recovery mode, did a factory reset and kicked off a re-install of the Resurrection Remix ROM from the external SD and it's hung at 50% (for 10 mins now) - at the "Extracting /system..." stage. I daren't interrupt it.
Any ideas???
Yes stop messing
1: If you dint have to save anything, wipe better to full wipe
Flash a stock Rom using Odin, than start again with custom roms.
OR
2: download your custom Rom again and flash, might be corrupt download.

So it's OK to interrupt this ROM flash, even though it's stuck at 50%? Should I just hold the power button or remove the battery??
pull the battery
But I say flash stock Rom first, lengthy procedure I know, but safer
OK I decided to reflash RR 2.3, which had been running fine for a couple of weeks previously. Immediately after flashing (which worked OK) the boot process wouldn't complete - it got as far as the RR splash screen then died (screen blank, and needed a long press on the power button to restart).
This happened several times. Eventually I removed and replaced the battery and it finally booted.
Does this sound like a hardware problem? I've noticed that the phone often runs quite warm, but I don't know if that's normal.
You have to flash stock rom, only way to know if there is something wrong with your phone, run it for couple days.
Now to the heat issue, it is due to
1: modem
2: kernel
3: both
So I upgraded to a custom ROM, everything appeared good.
I then did a factory reset via menu>settings. Phone didn't boot up past the Sony Ericsson splash screen.
So I rebooted it into recovery. Did another full wipe there. Still wouldn't boot past the splash screen.
It stayed on the splash screen for a few hours then is went off. Not it won't boot at all.
I can no longer get it to boot into recovery.
When I connect it to Flashtool nothing appears to happen except the red LED flashes twice quickly.
When I try to turn it on all that happens is the red LED flashes twice quickly.
When I plug it in after a couple minutes it boots to the Sony Ericsson splash screen, stays there for a while and then the screen goes off again.
What can I try? Any advice would be Great.

the red led flahes means it has very low charge left.
charge it for 1-2 hours and then try flashing stock firmware via flashtool.
If it doesnt work, then put the battery in other phone or external charger and charge it.
Then try to flash stock firmware.
Also, AFAIK you should not do a wipe from settings menu on a custom rom ( I might be wrong about this )

That's what I assumed, but it flashes red like that after being on the charger for 8 hours.
And the battery is not dead because I was getting multiday usage out of it last week.

ohh hah juts flash stock se 2.3.3 with seus and run bl unlock in flashtool
Hello.
I have rooted the xperia U using the flashtool by following a guide available on xda. Everything worked fine. I wanted to install a custom rom for which I had unlock my bootloader and flash a custom recovery for flashing the rom. I downloaded and flashed cwm. So I unlocked the bootloader using the official method, i flashed the boot.img of the custom rom(in fastboot) and tried to go to recovery, but my phone wouldn't switch ON now.
I was able to make it reach flashboot mode(green) and tried flashing ftf.. Even that's not working.
The service update software is not even detecting my phone.
Please help.:crying:
When you say, not switching on, can you feel it vibrate when you push the power button?
Also whats the error you receive on flashtool?
Yes, i do
But the screen is blank and I can only see the red notification light

Try to charge the phone for a few hours and after thats try flashmode again to flash stock rom...
same problem
Actually I am facing the same issue u had with your Sony xperia u. Please help.
Charge the battery, seems gone flat. Leave it on charge for half an hour or so. If that doesn't work maybe the software is corrupted to the point it doesn't cold boot to charge, so charge battery separately using external charger for half an hour or so. It should be able to boot at least to flash mode (Vol Down + Power).
The phone told me there was a new update I started to install it, got to reboot and now is just on the elephone logo which comes every 20 sec and goes again. I cannot turn the phone off or do anything with it. Any help please

plugged in charger... after 10 seconds phone start itself (after viewing the picture of empty battery) and elephone logo shows short and then back to showing picture of empty batterie cycle. After some minutes, and battery is loaded a little bit, elephone logo cycles again.
So rest in piece my p9000, i can nothing, i cant do anything from my pc because its only starting for like 5 seconds, i cant shut it down because of that and i cant get in factory mode

Its actually a great phone. Do you have twrp installed and can you get access to it? You could always boot into twrp transfer over the ROM and install it from there. If you have installed the vcom drivers then when the USB not recognized alert pops up. Go to settings and device manager. Right click the unknown device and click let me pick driver. You should be able to install it from there
The only thing I can suggest is to take the back panel of and unplug the battery. There videos on how to do this if you search YouTube or the forum. Effectively you perform a hard reset of the phone.
If and when you do get it working just twrp installed and do a backup of the whole phone working before performing any future upgrades or Rom changes. Its just better safe then sorry.
thenk you very much for that
The problem is that when I connect the phone on the off to the pc starts again the cycling through the elephone logo so the pc sees the phone for a few seconds in which does not recognises it and then is like the phone goes off until the next cycle so no time to go to device manager and install manually. but thank you for the comment.
removing the battery will void the warranty. I had the phone only since may.
It's unlikely it really matters. Your phone seller not going to take it back or fix it for free just because it's bootlopping. Well they may so just ask them. If you can't get it into recovery then a battery disconnect or contact your seller are your options
thank you

I deleted my OS in TWRP recovery, I've tried doing many things but none of them have worked. I tried flashing a stock kernel using fastboot, flashtool, using sony's flashtool Emma but all of them gave an error. My bootloader was unlocked and i think USB debugging was on but i can't be completely certain. And I'm not sure if the phone is charging or not because it's just stuck on the sony logo. The model is D6503. I'm pretty new to this stuff so i don't know what to do, if you need any more information i'll try to provide it as fast as i can. Thanks in advance.
Do you still have access tp TWRP? If you do, just go into the recovery flash a custom rom from XDA then try to return to stock if you want.

Yes I have used flashtool before. It gets stuck while flashing data and doesn't move on any further. I left it running at night and when i came back to it 10 hours later it was still stuck on the same step. Maybe it's a battery problem and it runs out during the procedure, but i can't check the batterly level because whenever i try to charge it i get the sony logo and it stays stuck like that. I tried the red button at the side next to the SD card slot but it just vibrates 3 times and then turns itself back on when i plug it back into the charger and gets stuck on the sony logo again.

Strange... It can be the battery because if you can connect to flashmode/fastboot mode this means phone is still alive. I also had a battery isue too which didn't let me boot the phone at all. Anyway you should leave your phone on charge for overnight then try to flash something next day ornif you can someone open the backcover of your phone you can try to dissconect the battery and boot the phone while connected to charge but if you don't know how to open it please don't do it.
