[KERNEL]SM-T357T - Permissive - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series ROMs, Kernels, Recover

Boots up, not much testing done by me. My 3 year old won't let go of his tab A
Permissive Kernel, Root restrictions removed. Pretty much stock ( For now ) .
Built from SM-T357T_NA_LL_Opensource.zip found at http://opensource.samsung.com/ using Uber tool chain .
Will add more info, github links, and thanks later. Also a TWRP installation script , for now use download mode and Odin.
This worked for me, incase it does not work for you I suggest taking a backup of kernel prior to flashing .
Running 5.0.2 , so I did not have to check OEM unlock
BASEBAND T357TUVS1PL1
You flash this at your own risk. Please ensure you have the stock ROM and OR KERNEL to hand downloaded from SAMMOBILE in case of problems. This will trip the knox counter.

Hopefully can get an updated build by the weekend few releases until I get the hang of changing changing CPU freq & scaling .
Also looking into ROM dev... Anyone want to jump in and help the T357T out, more the merrier . We don't have much for this particular variant , hopefully we can change that around!:highfive:

I've poked around a while ago, but never got deep into it. Maybe I'll fire up a Linux stick and see what happens. I'm on the newest baseband so I couldn't use your kernel, but i just rooted and after installing adaway and removing some bloat via titanium backup, I noticed a huge drop in overall lag and I can actually use the tab without getting annoyed.

Using titanium backup ( and being rooted ) , you can freeze knox and other carrier bloat. ( 2nd link shows which apps )
Here is a small guide how to debloat via windows , good read :good:
https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
Also check out this post. A list for the S7, of which apps are " safe " to remove. I'd proceed with caution . Alot of these apps won't be seen on our Tab A. Still, good reference .
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/debloat-galaxy-s7-services-safe-to-t3432967 .
Further down the line I want to release a debloated / optimize ROM.
I'm currently stuck building v2 (CPU Governors, I/O schedulers, TCPA, Init.d , etc) of this kernel.
Compile errors of course . Slowly, but surely I'm fixing them.

Unsupport dev_type during flash

Thanks for compiling this permissive kernel but it is not flashing under the same OS you used. I tried all versions of Odin and it gave me an Unsupport dev_type error. Can you confirm the baseband version you used? I checked on samsungmobile and I think you forgot the A in the basband version (APL1). What steps did you use to flash the device? Thanks again -AC

Use odin 3.12.x

I can't flash either, I get the same error Unsupport dev_type error, my baseband version is also APL1, any way of helping us out with this issue? or maybe make it flash-able through TWRP?
Thanks!!!

Well, this was fairly anticlimactic

[Q] CF-ROOT KL1 kernel

Hello,
I am currently running GINGERBREAD.BVKL1, 2.6.35.7-I9100BVKL1-CL774645 and want to reflash kernel using CF-ROOT.
I am reading Chainfire's thread, and at this post I can find the closest match to my kernel being CF-Root-SGS2_XW_INU_KL1-v5.0-CWM5.zip.
Chainfire also mentions: KL1 (GB): Untested
I'm wondering if this is still the case, considering that this was posted on the 30th of May 2011.
So anyone out there running CF-ROOT KL1?
Yup, I was asking myself the same question because I used Kies to update to 2.6.35.7 BVKL1 and lost root. Obviously zergrush failed and i checked for insecure or rooted kernels. However I don't think the KL1 (GB) has anything to do with this version.
Any help would be apreciated.

Ive been using the XW_INU_KL1 kernel in my phone for a while now with no problems at all.The kernel is now well and trully tested and is even included in my ROM.If it wasnt fully tested the dev wouldnt have put it in there so its perfectly safe to flash. As far as if its the correct kernel or not you only have to read the thread by Chainfire. As with any kernel the most important part are the last 3 digits. If your kernel ends in KL1 then its the correct one to use.
EDIT:Just thought Id let you know that my root kernel (XWKL1) is also 2.6.35.7 so the fact that you have "BV" doesnt matter.

Great, thanks for the info! Will be reflashing today.
First, Thanks again cooza.
w00tz, for your info,
I have flashed XW_INU_KL1 kernel via Odin (because I didn't have CWM Manager) and installed superuser and busybox thus gaining root.
Then reflashed "original" 2.6.35.7-I9100BVKL1-CL774645 from intratech:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928&highlight=bvkl1
Now running "official" kernel with root.

Thanks for sharing! Just reflashed minutes ago using XW_INU_KL1 also via Odin, gained root without problems and then unlocked my carrier block via Helroz's Galaxy S Unlock. Everything went smoothly.
I'm downloading now the 'original' stuff, it's good to have.
Is there any certain reason to reflash the 'original'? Besides getting rid of the yellow triangle. I'm guessing that KIES upgrades will also work with XW_INU_KL1. And I'm under the impression that my phone is a little bit faster with this kernel.
Good to see everything went well.Downloading the original stuff is just personal choice. You can flash any firmware you want, test it,change it,flash carrier branded and non carrier branded firmwares until you find what you like as each different firmware has a different modem.Good idea to get rid of the triangle if you dont have a usb jig just in case you want to send it away.Your new original F/W will have the modem being used in your area for best speed and conectivity so if you can be rooted on that F/W then better still.Kies will still work but the updates will only work on your BV rooted version.
Roger that. Thank you again, much appreciate it.

Just a little revive.
Because it has been reported to me that sometimes I cannot be heard by the other person while talking, I have decided to also flash the original kernel from intratech. From what I understand, Firmware and Kernel should have matching versions.
I wanted to ask you if:
1. you reflashed from CWM or via Download mode?
2. do you still have CWM after reflashing this stock kernel?
Thanks.
Friendly bump. I tried to contact cerberus1405 but haven't had success.
So if anybody else can answer my questions. It doesn't matter if it's about KL1 kernel or another one.
I guess you didn't manage to search in the past week then? Kernel is unlikely to have any impact on call quality, only modem.
1). If you want to flash a stock kernel, you can do it several ways and there's no difference in outcome.
2). No, if you flash a stock kernel, you will lose CWM recovery.
If those are not the questions you wanted asking then you'll have to be more specific.

sorry, didn't log in lately. I flashed via Download mode.
usualy CWM works with CF-Root kernels. In my case CWM detected that I was running a different kernel and warned me about some features disabled. The app appears functional but haven't tried it yet.
Hy there, i have BVKL1 on my s2 and if i understand what is written here i can use
XWKL1 insecure to flash ?
Is that correct, sry if i bother u i'm kinda noob on this ...

KL1 yes
Best root method is .
Root + CWM .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
jje
I was thinking to use odin + ClockworkMod-Recovery. This method it's not ok ?
Thank you for your answer.
Hi,
I used Odin and CF-Root XW_KL1 kernel.
I have kept these links http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399, try to find a matching kernel there.
This method incremented the flash counter to 1 (and when I boot the phone I get the warning triangle), but I don't quite really care anymore about it.
It's been a while since I flashed and I can say that it is stable.
I have a usb jig so hopefully no triangle and counter 0.
Thx

[ROM][STOCK][4.4.2][N7105XXUFNF2][Rooted || Deodexed & Odexed || KNOX Free]

Code:
[FONT=Tahoma][left]This rom is build from the original [URL="http://www.sammobile.com/"]SAMMOBILE[/URL] source firmware.
I remove [URL="http://omegadroid.co/wanted-knox-void-warranty-0x1"]the Knox crap[/URL][/left][/FONT]
.
The 4.4.2 bootloader isn't include in the rom but:
For those are on the 4.4.2 bootloader you will have "KNOX 0x1 WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY FOREVER" blame it on samsung but rom will function as intended even if you use original kernel
For those are on the 4.3.1 bootloader you will have "KNOX 0x1 WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY FOREVER" blame it on samsung and for wifi to work you must install AGNI Kernel.
For those are on the 4.1.2 bootloader the rom could work normally with AGNi Kernel include in rom
Features :
Unbranded
Removed all Knox things
Aroma (with option to add some tweaks to the rom and choose between original or agni kernel)
Unlock external SD Card writing for all apps
Rooted (SuperSU v1.94)
Multilanguage Keyboard and Fonts
Installation :
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP
I recommend installing Rom via Philz CWM Recovery (v6.48.4). On install do a wipe Data/Factory Reset and Clean to install New Rom.
Flash My Rom.

[ROM][STOCK][4.3]N7105XXUENC3][Rooted || Deodexed & Odexed || KNOX Free]
This rom is build from the original SAMMOBILE source firmware without removing anything just the the Knox crap and add the Chainfire SuperUser binaries .
If you are interesting i will provide late some little modifications to make it more optimised and debloated but for the moment here we are:
The 4.3 bootloader isn't include in the rom so:
For those are on the 4.3 bootloader you will have "KNOX 0x1 WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY FOREVER" blame it on samsung but rom will function as intended.
For those are on the 4.1 bootloader (as me) you won't have "KNOX 0x1 WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY FOREVER" because it won't be installed but wifi don't work so you must install the Devil Kernel or AGNI Kernel.
Features :
Original Kernel
Unbranded
Removed all Knox things
Rooted (SuperSU v1.86)
No others modifications
Installation :
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP
I recommend installing Rom via Philz CWM Recovery (v6.00.8). On install do a wipe Data/Factory Reset and Clean to install New Rom, then reboot recovery
Flash My Rom
Wait for the first boot (wi-fi probably won't be working)
Reboot recovery and flash Devil2 Kernel or AGNi Kernel
You are done post a little message here if everything work (or not)
IF YOUR USB IS NOT WORKING AFTER FALSHING DEVIL KERNEL FOLLOW THIS INSTRUCTION (Thanks to baddesthad for posting and trickyhurl for sharing).
I make this rom for the pleasure and to participate on this forum which i learn a lot of things, but please consider a small donation for maintaining the upload quality and the storage space on the seedbox.

Thanks for the new ROM.
The latest XSP (Singapore) firmware has higher changelist number (2229877) compared to the MK9 (2138564). Not sure why it wasn't used.
-----------
In the description rather than saying latest versions of X and Y, can you update the exact versions of the Super SU and Philz CWM Recovery you have used.
Also, the link isn't working in the sections below. Kindly update them.
1. The KNOX CRAP
2. "IF YOUR USB IS NOT WORKING AFTER FALSHING DEVIL KERNEL, FOLLOW THIS INSTRUCTIONS".
------------------------
For time being, to get the USB working,
1. Dial *#7284#
2. Select qualcomm settings
3. Select MTP +ADB option
4. Save and Restart (if needed).
Op updated, thanks ysrini.
I will make the same for the last XSP later but the new samfirmware download server is very slow !!!

I have the widi not working after the odin 4.3 update. Can i just flash the kernel to the stock rom. I have this singapore version. PLease help. Dying without wifi. Thank you.
@sadiqsabia
You could try the devil2 kernel if your model is compatible but normally if you have a 4.3 bootloader with an original kernel your wifi must be ok.
If it doesn't it's because you have a 4.1.2 bootloader so you can try reflashing your Rom with odin or the devil2 kernel.

My Rom is a actually a MK9 version not a ML3. You could try it or make another wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache and reflash the devil2 kernel.
@thedadio
Yes from the v2.2 version there is a devil boot logo
Hi, thanks for the ROM...at least now our phones have more choices for TW ROM...
Anyway, those who wants to use the stock kernel, you must have the 4.3 bootloader but be known that you will get the knox issue and your warranty will be voided. You will get the wifi working as well.......
Another alternative if maintain the 4.1.2 bootloader but then you need to use the one and only one kernel available for now which is Devil's kernel. I have tried this kernel and all is working fine except the gyro part is still a little unstable yet(you will know once you try a compass apps). Once you are on the Devil's kernel, your wifi should work also.
I am hoping Dr.Ketam will also have a patch for us like he did for N7100, so that we can also use the stock kernel.......
Enjoy peeps and thanks again to the cook.....
Thanks I really like the TW look

[Q] Advice needed for rooting GT-I9300

Guys I know this is long but PLEASE don't freak out! I really need some advice from you experts on this! I hope you could spend your time reading everything here and give me some advices! Thanks!
Phone details:
Model number: GT-I9300
Android version: 4.3
Baseband version: I9300DXUGNB1
Build number: JSS15J.I9300XXUGNA5
Hello guys, since I'm not really a rooting expert (previously I rooted a motorola device), I would like to ask for some advices regarding rooting our S3 because I have only one phone and I can't afford to brick it.
1. So basically I'm referring to the guide here. However, that rooting guide is for Samsung Galaxy S3 on I9300XXUGNA7 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, which is different from my build number (I've checked software update on my device over OTA and Kies3 but it says I have the latest firmware), will it works for my phone? Also in the guide it says to use odin3 v3.09, however in CF_auto_root page here it says to use odin3 v1.85, so which one is working for my device or which one is better?
2. Next I would like to ask is it necessary to install CWM recovery to replace the stock one? After searching around, I found that there are some people who installed CWM recovery even before rooting, is that even possible? So basically to install CMW recovery I think I will follow the steps here, is this working for my device?
3. Okay I know this is the dumbest question... but is there anything else I need to do after the above 2 steps (flashing kernel, modem etc.)?
Thank you very much for spending your time reading my post. I hope you can clear those doubts for me!

Flashing your phone in any way doesn't guarantee not bricking it, see this thread
Scroll down to the quoted section headed Quick Root from there
Download Odin
Download CF-AutoRoot for your phone
Read the link on rooting
It is really straight forward just read up on it but don't read too much into it a frighten yourself

Great that thread helps a lot! I cleared most of my doubts now, but one more question please, after rooting, I wished to install ported apps like S5 launcher and accuweather, and in order to install these I need to flash from recovery. Is it possible to flash this using stock recovery? Or I need to install custom recovery like CMW?
You can't install anything with stock recovery, you'll need a custom recovery.
Make sure you have a full nandroid and efs backup before you flash anything -ported apps can break the framework and produce bootloops.
Seriously though, all this information is available in the sticky or by searching -why do need people to write it all out for you?

Seriously though, all this information is available in the sticky or by searching -why do need people to write it all out for you?

Thanks for your information. I did search around and try to understand the things myself, but still there are some doubts remain, that's why I opened this thread hoping that someone can clear the doubts for me. This is my only phone and I really can't afford another (I'm from a low-income family), I just want to make sure everything is alright so that I don't mess up my device. Thanks for your understanding
If this is relevant for Samsung galaxy s3, I got this done the other day using Odin to unlock and root, ran the root app to confirm root. The ROM manager to found CWM recovery flash. So far all good, should take 5 mins in all but an hour in prep and homework.

Don't use rom manager, it can soft brick your phone.

Hello! I agree that it would be better NOT to use Rom Manager. Many users had problems because of it. The safest way, in my opinion, is to flash a custom kernel using Odin. For example, I had stock rom and used Odin to flash boeffla kernel (not advertising it, just saying what I did) because that kernel had both a .tar version and a .zip one. I downloaded the .tar version and flashed it with Odin by putting the .tar file in the PDA column. That's for root.
For recovery I'm using PhilZTouch and I love it. It supports both JB and KK roms and that is preety cool. Also it's full touch so I don't need to stress my hardware buttons. It's also available as .tar file so you can flash it with Odin just like the kernel.
That's how I'd recommend anyone to root and install a custom recovery on a Sammy phone because I believe it's the safest way. PS: before launching Odin make sure the phone is NOT connected to the PC and that Kies isn't running in the background (use Task Manager to check) Goodluck! !!:thumbup:

Wow, that's great. By saying unlock, do you mean unlock the bootloader? Wait, is the bootloader locked in our S3?

Thanks! Will check out PhilZTouch recovery :fingers-crossed:
Currently struggling with deodexing/odexing the stock rom, after reading around I can differentiate between the odex and deodex rom, still digging on how to deodex a rom though (since I want to install some S5 mods). After searching around, it seems like titanium backup can do the deodexing/odexing just nice Gonna do some more preparation, hopefully I can have my device rooted by this week
You could flash PhilZ Recovery and make a nand backup of your rom. This way you'd have an emergency copy if something goes wrong or if you break something in the system. Just my thought

G900T unlocked using on AT&T.. Which version of ROM to use?

so I got this galaxy s5 (free) to replace the S4 I had.. I'm on AT&T and the S5 is a T-Mobile device.. I unlocked and am currently using on AT&T without any issues.. I tried Cyanogenmod 12 on it.. had way too many Bluetooth music issues.. so I switched back to a rooted t-mobile stock.. which is terrible.. bluetooth music works great but everything is is painfully slow.. so I want to find a good fast custom rom (that also has proper bluetooth music support).. With so many device versions and so many custom roms I'm just a bit perplexed.. I found some that are debloated stock roms which seem like that would be good. but I'm just a bit confused on what parts I need to have as "t-mobile g900t" and which parts I don't have to have that way? so yeah this is a bit of a newbie question (even though I have run 4 or 5 custom roms in the past (original galaxy s and my s4 both had custom roms). .but those were always at&t devices on at&t network.. so was an easier choice..
at any rate.. looking for some tips on how to best find the right rom.. Would love to do this today/tomorrow.. avoid messing with the phone during the work week..
Thanks in advance!!
Gary
Try the latest stock ROM for the phone. Many of us were having issues with lag with prior 5.1.1 ROMS. The latest ROM has fixed all these issues. Very snappy.
i feel like i remember seeing bluetooth/audio fixes & updates in the CM13 nightly changelogs, you also didnt specify which CM 12 you installed... the last 12.1 snapshot from october or the last nightly from december?
You can run whatever rom you want. If it works with KLTE it works on your phone. Check the S5 unified development. Cyanogen has always been crap on this phone, probably always will be. Try an AOSP based one like Tesla or TipsyOS (probably won't find them on this site, they post all of their roms on their Google+ page)
Unfortunately the only Marshmallow available for this phone so far is CM-13 based so it's also crap and full of bugs...
To be honest, no ROM you find will be perfect. The most stable thing I've found is to just use a rooted stock ROM and debloat the hell out of it then run Google Now launcher or Nova and forget that you have a Samsung device for a while, until the next OTA comes out and you have to do the process over again.

much improved deep sleep battery means crap & full of bugs? i'm over a week behind on nightlies & there arent that many bugs... http://www.cmxlog.com/13/klte/ things are improving all the time, only CM 12.1 is stuck... but the last december nightly isnt buggy either
Sort of forgot about this thread. first Thanks for the replies.. So I have been using CM13 since I posted this.. and this has great for speed.. but BlueTooth continues to suck.. no matter what bluetooth device I use with this Rom it skips and stutters. I've finally had enough.. it's been quite a long time with this issue so time for me to switch.. I will try one of the rooted stock roms and debloat it with one of those tools.. thanks again everyone!

Go to the international s5 site look at Tamirda's phoenix rom . It's 6.0.1 mm very snappy very few bugs. Very moddable. Just load a stock mm rom from here first than so you have the proper bootloader and modem. After installing you feel like you got a mini s7. Good good.

Question.. I currently have CM13 loaded in this phone.. so do I still need to do the "Just load a stock mm rom" first? I assumed I already had the proper bootloader and modem..

If you have the mm bootloader and modem installed just wipe and flash. But I believe cm 13 could be ran on the lp bootloader. I odined the stock tar first that way you know all the partitions are proper. Than Odin Twrp 3 0.0 . Make sure you back up your data from internal storage because when you Odin factory package it wipes phone storage. I learned this the hard way lost a bunch of pictures lol anyway I found this to be the best way. Hoping this helps....

1. is there a way to tell which bootloader I have?
2. I'm running teamwin.. I assume that's fine for flashing Phoenix but does one really need Odin?
3. I had a rooted stock image before I installed CM13.. (the stock image was so dang slow.. forget which.)
thanks again!

Get any phone info app and check and see if your bootloader ends in pe1 if it don't you don't have mm bootloader. Teamwin is twrp just make sure it's version 3.0.0 that version seems to do best with the phoenix rom.

thanks for sticking with me on the all the newbie questions.. bootloader version reported as G900TUV1FOG6.. later in the list it shows Latest Firmware: G900TUVUGPE1/G900TTMBGPE1/G900TUVU1GPE1.. so at first I was thinking I was ok.. but that second entry had me wondering.. (dang.. just noticed this was never submitted (from 6/28).. oh well)..
ok.. So I assumed I'm good to go.. installed the latest TWRP (3.0.2).. wiped the data area and tried to flash Phoenix.. It starts installing Aroma.. and within a couple of seconds the phone reboots back into TWRP.. did this a few times.. rebooting into the OS gets me a new Cyanagenomod not Phoenix.. figure I must be missing a step somewhere (or have something that is preventing Phoenix from installing).. thoughts?
thanks again!!

I think you still don't have the correct bootloader . The firmware is mm because your using CM13. The easiest way to get it done for sure is to odin the official MM firmware. Than install Twrp 3.0.0 flash superuser to have root . Reboot in recovery and flash phoenix rom v12.0 than the 12.6 update. This may take extra time this way but all the partitions will be correct. Or odin bootloader in BL slot and modem in cp slot . Don't set for auto reboot pull battery back into download mode Odin Twrp pull battery. Reboot into recovery than flash superuser. Than flash phoenix. Good luck

OK.. you may be right.. I downgraded TWRP to 3.0.0 and the install started working fine.. but now the reboot into Phoenix has been going for about 35 mins.. I know it can take some time but that seems extreme.. will wait a bit longer and if it doesn't work I'll try the steps you listed above..
thanks again

Gary look in this general section for the post that instructs you how to install factory mm. Follow the guide. Google to see how to install factory tar files using Lunix . I'm guessing my instructional writing skills leave something to be desired lol . Once you have the factory mm up and running install Twrp flash superuser reboot. Than reboot into recovery flash phoenix rom. Good good

[ROM]T550/555 Deodexed, rooted, debloated, deknoxed, Xposed

What's this?:
It's basically a rom for the SM-T555 I created for myself to use Xposed.
UPDATE: SM-T550 version added
Supersu v2.56
Xposed v75
Features:
XXU1AOJ1 Base_update 8.10.15
Deodexed
Deknoxed
Lightly debloated so as not to lose functionality.
Rooted with latest Supersu v2.56 binaries.
Xposed framework.
Install:
Install via TWRP recovery.
No need to wipe, but if you want a minimal system then its advisable to wipe DATA in recovery.
First boot will take around 10 mins.
Disclaimer:
As ever you flash this at your own risk, its up to you to ensure you have a backup with TWRP and/or the stock firmware to hand just in case the Hells Angels decide to ride into to town and kill your device
NOTE: I'm not really going to support this ROM with updates and such. It is what it is, and its up to you to modify it as you wish, more debloat e.t.c., take it or leave it, just leave out the whinging and whining.[emoji14]
UPDATE : New firmware base uploaded. Xposed updated to latest version v75.
Minimum requirement is to be running the same stock build XXU1AOJ1 before install.

Your links seem to be down - they're both status 404 for me.
Also, while I'm at it, do you by any chance have any *.pit files available for SM-T555? I've been wanting to try out the 6.0.1 MM version for it but I can't flash any of the 5.0.2 (that have received the update to 6.0.2) or 6.0.1 ROMs because my T555 is for SEB region and there for any of the ROMs that are 6.0.1 ready, can't be flashed because of invalid EXT4 errors.

Links fixed. I have the pit file but not sure that's your issue.
Have had no such issues flashing other region firmware.
Using the Russian version on UK model no problem.
Thanks for the quick response, I'll check out your ROM when I get back. Also, I'll give different region ROMs a try again... maybe the images I've been flashing were corrupt(I tried flashing VOD region firmwares for 5.0.2 & 6.0.1 and Odin failed to flash both), since it complained about mismatching sizes, I just wrote it off as certaint different regions having different partition sizes.

Been using this since mid-August, so I thought I'd leave a bit of feedback .... I have had no problems whatsoever with the ROM - works great. Back when I last posted here I initially wanted to get MM on it because I've gotten used to it on my Nexus, but with Xposed already bundled in, this was just a one up in comparison to a MM ROM.
@ashyx - I have a stock rooted XXU1A0J1 build (the one you reference as necessary), on a T550.
I tried the T550 ROM, wiped cache/dalvik/data after flashing it.
Touchscreen works fine, but no joy on wifi. I can see networks, but not connect. I reset my hotspot AP to open (no encryption) temporarily, still no success. The wifi just shows "connecting" for an extended period of time, then "connecting" disappears briefly, then it reattempts connecting. Eventually I get a "Failed to obtain IP address" message.
I booted a Nexus 7 2013, it instantly connected to the hotspot, had web access.
I restored my backup from TWRP, network came up immediately (hotspot set back to encrypted).
Any ideas? Something broken in the t550 rom I downloaded?
Thanks!
is there a way to remove the "loud audio" pop-up screen that you have to comfirm every time you turn up the volume? this is the worst part of thr sm-t550 because i adjust the audio alot.

There's an xposed module by pyler available in the repository.

I've used it before, should do the trick.
Any chance one of these will be developed for the SM-P355? There does not seem to be a single ROM out there for it
