Have a bit of a problem with my Gear Fit 2. I usually have HR set to Auto, so it monitors my HR always, and when i remove it it turns it off, or that i did sometime ago, now when i remove it from my wrist it won't turn the HR sensor off, it'll keep measuring something(150-220HB/s), which can be annoying. Also i have it set to lock when removed from wrist, but it stopped doing too.
If any of you have had this issue and somehow solved it i would be really grateful!
(Just to mention i did try Factory reset and my phone is S7 Edge currently)

Hey everyone,
I'm having issues with my screen not turning off at times and I think it has to do with Smart Stay. I'm not even looking at the screen and the screen would stay on. Last night I was playing around with my phone, I left the room, came back and my screen was still on. The other issue I have is when I'm reading a long email the screen would turn off. Is this a software issue or do I have a defective phone?
Forgot to mention, I have the Rogers version.

Your face has to be centered in the upper right hand camera. That is a little off centered. So turn your front facing camera on and center your face. That's where your face should be. It's not using your eyes but it's using facial recognition to stay on.
As for your screen not turning off... how long is your screen set out for?
Lastly, turn smart stay off and see if it does the same. That will let you know the real problem.
I have noticed this effect on my phone as well. Above my computer area, is a lamp, that is somewhat round. Every once and a while the smart stay will detect an object that it thinks is a head, however it is not. So the screen will stay on. Just move it. The smart stay does not work 100% in lower ambient light also. So if this screen off issue is occurring more often at night or in low light environments, that is fairly typical. Your phone is fine.

Ok, I turned on my front facing camera to center my face. I have to say that's an awkward way of holding the phone to make sure Smart Stay detects your eyes.
My screen is set to time out for 30 seconds.
I did turn off smart stay last night and my screen turned off. I know it's an issue with smart stay. But could it also be a front facing camera issue? It seems to take pictures okay though.
get out of the house now. You have a ghost.
Hi guys,
Recently, I was using this tablet to play a video under "Stamina mode" and all other energy saving features turned on in Settings/Power Management and discovered a phenomenon that I don't know previously.
A phenomenon was observed, the display shuts itself off at random times when and only when the device is being held up-side-down.
Turning off "Stamina mode" and this phenomenon does not reappear.
I can not think of any reason why this should occur and not when the device is held in any other orientation.
This tablet's screen can be turned on/off with a magnet in cover.
However, if the user decides to relax and use the tablet while up-side-down, I don't see the intelligent side of this in Stamina mode while device is held up-side-down.
Really, try it out on your tablet, this phenomenon is hysterical and quite annoying.
Do you use the tablet up-side-down?
And do you think this is a reasonable feature?
My device doesn't show this behavior.
yes i have noticed it i thought i was going mad.... but i have repeated it several times.. i quite often rest the tablet upside down under my nose to watch the tv then i flip it back up and the screens turned off.!! i thought i must have bumped the power switch or something, but I've repeated it several times now... very odd if is a feature. it's like flip to sleep or something...
i just had a thought maybe in stamina mode it turns this on.... flip to turn off or it's the eye ball tracking thingy when it can't see you looking at the screen it turns it off.....
just had a look in display settings its called smart back light control. but its not turned on.. so it's not that.
must just be the tilt sensor is enabled to turn the screen off when it's tilted flat on it's face..

I have experimented with this several times. It depends on whether or not the device has moved or stationary.
Since, this only happens face down, so it is annoying.
So, it's like telling you not to lying on your back to watch a Firework show using Stamina mode for example.
If you lay the device face down on a table using Stamina mode it will turn off the screen shortly after obviously to save energy.
And if it is held up-side-down it turns off the screen randomly as it detects no motion. So, the user isn't likely to continuously shake the device while looking at the device up-side-down for any reason.
Has anyone discovered the correct motion for waking up the LG G watch with the twisting wrist motion.
I can never consistently reproduce the motion. At times the device doesn't even turn on not matter how hard I flick my wrist. Leaving always on feature kills battery.
The moto 360 has no troubles recognizing the wake up motions I make.
I wish I had you're problem. Mine constantly wakes up any time I move without me wanting it to.
From my messing around with the watch after I bought it I have had a 100% success rate waking the watch up this way:
Twist your wrist towards you and then stop moving your wrist once the watch face is facing you (as if your going to talk into the watch face)
My S6 edge is being very strange, and i am not sure if it was happening all along and i didnt notice it or if it just started recently. but I recently bought an Obliq crystal clear case for the back of my phone, and when i have it on my phone and put it down, i can see the whole case light up red because of the heart rate sensor turning on. This only happens when you put something near the heart rate sensor, so by putting your phone back side down, the heart rate sensor turns on and stays on when its sitting on a table top. I am afraid this is severely hurting the battery life of my phone. Can anyone else tell me if you are experiencing the same problems or do i have a defective phone or do i have a setting out of wack? See a video of the problem on youtube below.
Un install goggle fit. If you have it. From what I've heard its a bug with it
Hello,
I've been inspired by this wonderful guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp.../guide-simple-list-easy-quality-life-t3697439
So now I'm using the proximity sensor as a workaround to the absence of double tap to wake... the only problem is that now the screen turns on more often than I'd like because the proximity sensor is calibrated to trigger the NEAR setting at a too far away distance.
For example, if I'm walking with the phone in my hands i can't have the screen to stay off, it takes just a couple waving besides the thighs to turn on, an action very difficult to avoid while walking or even just standing with the phone in one hand.
Is there a way, with or without root, to change the distance at which the proximity sensor is set to NEAR?
