I just found out that most of T-Mobile HTC Ones are factory unlocked by default. Mine and my friends are unblocked And I pop in AT&T SIM card and it works. Here is the link to check if you are unblocked or locked https://prod.eie.net.au/portal/template/MYMIMEIInquiry.vm/action/IMEIInquiryAction

That link says unBlocked not unlocked when you type in your IMEI. I seriously doubt they're unlocked. If it's unlocked then provide screenshots as proof.

I actually called tmobile 3 more times, trying to be sweet and gentle, I also tried being an asssss, trying to return the phones, no dice, they say its computer generated. that I can try at the end of the month... they will process the simunlock..
I called HTC today also, over at HTC the agent ask me for the imei, I gave it to him, then he said, we gave tmobile the unlock code, and I said what did u need my imei number, he didn't reply, what a fu,,,cking asssss he was,
I told them I feel so hurt, I bought 2 phones and paid $620 for each, how dare u not give me my code that I deserve. $1300 is a lot of money, I had the agent speak to his supervisor, they said sorry, please call at the end of the month will be 40 days, they will gladly give it to me, cause its computer generated.:crying: hahahaha what a joke..

Today i've recieved a T-Mobile HTC One phone bought from US. I live in israel./
Got few questions, any answer be greatly appreciated.
1. I've made inquiry to T-Mobile, and they told me once i give them info about the phone they'll unlock it for me either in 48 hours or more if IMEI isn't in their databse yet. I've yet to give them that info because i fear the phone might be stolen. I've recieved it from my brother and i et the impression it was bought from the company itself but ..his unavailable to inquire for few days.
Any way to confirm legality of the phone? All i can see is T-Mobile app installed on HTC, and two messeges, one saying "Welcome ...etc...etc.." and other that the sim has been activiated.
2. If i do give them IMEI can they block me permamently and thus no matter where i et the code the HTC is blocked?
3. Any proven third-party sellers who could unlock me the phone?
I'd rather go for legal way if possible, and i know the phone costed about 700dollar so i assume its real price, but you guys let me know what's the best way to approach it.
If you don't mind spending just $3.50, use the link I'm posting below. I used it last night on my T-Mobile HTC One and got an unlock code in ten minutes.

Try myhtcunlock.com. Same to me before i try many web the said because my HTC One T-Mobile is new that why they don't have the code try again after 1-2 months, i give a last try go to myhtcunlock.com and they sent me the unlock code work perfectly at the first time, but i have to wait 6-12hrs to receive the code and cost me $35.00 but i am ok with it as long as the they have the code and it worked. I don't know about your IMEI but give it try.
If you have gone through the other posts about sim unlock the T-Mobile LG V10, you must have come across users complaining that the Device Unlock app as well as the third party unlockers are not able to sim unlock some LG V10 phones, predominantly the ones that are purchased from the LG Partner Purchase Programs. Just want to check if there is any ROM that can help overcome this or can give the device unlock code popup when tried through the dialer? It's such a disappointment that I couldn't use this beautiful device on my network and struggling to find out a way for this unlocking.
For users who are having the same issue, do you think we need to go through an FCC Complaint for this?
I guess calling T-Mobile is of no help, no way they can add the IMEIs of such devices to the database?
I've been meaning to suggest this for a while. It's a huge longshot, because it seems to be limited to Samsung devices, but this fellow is able to unlock lots of their models by himself. I thought possibly someone could contact him and see if he might know anything about LG devices, or be up to the challenge of maybe tinkering with it. Wish I could be more helpful..

That sucks... oh well, we tried!
Hmm, I started a PayPal dispute with the seller and he declined mentioning PayPal will not consider buyer's remorse. Also since it was never used on a T-Mobile account, it isn't register in their databases. I am planning of taking a 100$ prepaid account, use it for 3 days, apply for unlock and then escalate the claim to PayPal as hardware issue. Will that work? Did anyone try this way with PayPal?
Did you try activating the phone by buying prepaid card? How did it go? I am facing same issue and looking for solution as well.

Yep seems this is the way to do it.
I read a post about this and took the advise and messaged T Force via Twitter. They told me in a matter of mins that my handset was already unlocked even though the unlock app states otherwise.
Unkown to them , I have a few foreign SIM cards, inserted one and I got the SP lock message.
Anyone know how to unlock a TMO Note 8 that was purchased from Samsung direct, need a solid answer and not hearsay.

Contact T-Mobile Help on Twitter. Have your receipt and IMEI ready.
The problem is when Samsung sells phones on their own the IMEI is not given to the carrier and it's not in the system. Since T-Mobile doesn't know the phone this is what happens.
They should be able to contact Samsung and verify it with your receipt and then they'll input the IMEI in the system and get the ball rolling.

I received my TMO N8 direct from Samsung and paid in full. I moved my sim card from my S7E into the N8 and everything worked fine. On my TMO account it shows the N8 as the phone on my line, but when I hit the link to check the unlock status, I get a response This device is not in our system.. Twice I called TMO to make sure they had the IMEI number for the phone. Same result when I check unlock status. I called TMO a third time for unlock status. This time I was told that since I purchased the phone from Samsung I would have to get the unlock code from Samsung. I then called Samsung and was told that the TMO rep was not correct and I would have to contact TMO again. I called back TMO and explained this tale of woe. This time the rep said I should have the unlock code within 72 hours. That was two days ago and I am still waiting. and getting the same message, This device is not in our system.
This has been the worst experience I have had with TMO in the many years I have had my plan with them.
T-Mobile IS correct. They don't have the IMEI in their system because Samsung NEVER gave it to them. This has been a problem for a long while now. Apple does the same crap too. If they sold devices and passed on the IMEI then this would fix the problem. Carriers want to verify it's theirs and it isn't stolen or belongs to some other carrier. Only Samsung can validate that and Samsung CS doesn't know the difference between a SIM unlock and a bootloader unlock.
Just do what I said earlier. Talk to T-Mobile Help on Twitter and send the receipt and IMEI and they should be able to contact the right department for Samsung to validate your purchase and then they'll put the IMEI into the system and then viola you can unlock.

Most people it seems went for a carrier phone to get it sooner, the unlocked ones are on back order. The funny thing is the tmob phones have an unlock app pre installed, you wait 40 to 70 hours on the network and then just click two buttons and it's unlocked.

For the people who already have it, how is the battery life? Ive seen so many reviews complaining about it, but then i saw one video comparing it to the s8+ and iphone 7 plus and it seems to last longer (with resolution tweaked down to match iphones res)
How is real life usage?

I totally agree, the phone should be unlocked before send out or unlock code should be send with the phone and they do that in Canada. What they doing now should be illegal but apparently we don't have good consumer protection.
I love t-mobile and their support is great, but unlocking T-mo branded phone bought direct from Samsung is freaking nightmare and it amazes me how their support and tech people have no clue about their SIM locks, yes I was also told my phone comes unlocked from factory and it just happens that I have 2 phones like that and I travel abroad, so need this garbage resolved. It is my last carrier branded Qualcom phone, that's for sure.

Yah they are already in stores and about a month after than the unlocks ship out. So roughly 2 months total time. Just some people don't like to wait, want carrier specific features unlock doesn't have, or Need a device to get away from a device. I fit in the last 2.

I am pretty sure I know what the answer to this is since I have read it a few times on these forums, but can someone with experience detail what Sprint's response is when trying to activate a previous LS998 model converted to a US998? I have read that it is essential to activate the device *prior* to converting the FW to US998. Has anyone had luck getting Sprint to activate the device on US998 FW previously not activated while on LS998 FW?
Its possible by reinstalling the ls998 system and modem and stuff using this thread.

Are you asking because you did NOT activate it before converting?
Or are you asking because you just want to do it the hard way?
You basically have to convert it back to LS998 (and there's no KDZ available to flash). I remember one guy did it but it was a major pain -- which is why we put all the warnings everywhere.

No... no...no... *sigh*...... I sold a converted LS998 to US998 on Swappa... And this was part of the sale description:
**NOTE** This device is not compatible with Sprint! The ESN is linked to an LS998U, which Swappa requires I list it as an LS998U variant. It was never activated on Sprint prior to conversion to US998, and Sprint will not allow activation.

So he clearly didn't read the description and never asked questions before buying... I am anticipating a expletive laden response any time now and wanted to see if I could offer any assistance. I suppose there is chance he is familiar with this device and knows how to do all this himself but I have my doubts....

No...

Ah, thanks for the clarification.
I think you are covered as far as the sale. That's quite a clear warning! I'll see if I can find the posts from months ago where the guy did activate it -- FINALLY.
Can't quite find those posts, but here's what he needs if he knows how to do it:

From TWRP(wipe data) install the FACTORYSPRINT.zip reboot device, update prl and profile, reboot, do a system update
It works. I tested it

I figured I would post a reply about this mess... I had to take the device back because Swappa sucks and they claim the ESN check comes back that the devices has "financial obligation" owed on it. Although, when I listed the device they did an ESN check which came back clean. They immediately sided with the buyer and said the device was not valid to sell on their site, even though they allowed me to list it, a buyer to buy and pay for it, I shipped it to him and only when the jackass read my listing and realized it says "Not compatible with Sprint" did he put up a stink... I purchased this on eBay and I know at least one other person reported picking up a V30 which came back as "financed". I used this particular device on T-Mobile and AT&T so I know it isn't restricted in that sense.
In parallel, I reached out to Sprint and gave them the ESN to check if there was in fact any financial obligation and they confirmed that there was not... The agent (on their own) offered to put an unlock request in for the device. I am not, nor have ever been a Sprint customer so I didn't believe they would honor the unlock request. According to a check with Sprint today, they did unlock the device.
So for those more familiar with Sprint... does this mean it can be activated on Sprint now because it is unlocked? Regardless that it is running US998 FW?

I would forget Swappa and sell on eBay. Tons of LS998 converted to US998 being sold there.
Sorry, I don't know the answer to the Sprint question.

How does one go about re-locking the bootloader once this is done? You lose fastboot commands once you are on a Sprint base? Or is this a hybrid?

I'm not sure. Maybe the factory Sprint zip locks the bootloader? (Probably doesn't, but I really don't know.)
But yeah, the fastboot commands are gone.
