I have a Huawei Mate 10 Pro that is unlocked but won't install Lineage OS. I have tried using the Huawei Update Extractor and flashing ramdisk, recovery ramdisk, and system.img. I have flash Lineage OS several times. Now I am stuck on the "Your device is unlocked" screen with no action happening. If I hold Volume Up to enter the e-recovery, I am only present with three options, with only two doing anything which are working: Restart and Shutdown (this is the only way I can shut down the device). There is no wipe data option. I know I am running a BLA-L29 model and pretty sure it is the European model. I installed TWRP but getting to that screen is difficult as each time I hold a button combination (Volume Up + power button or Volume Down + power button), nothing happens (I do know it is installed as I have reach the screen several times on my device). Any suggestion? I would like to install Lineage but I would be fine returning to stock OS. I apologize for the redundancy of this thread (potentially) but I couldn't find the answer anywhere, and nothing specific to my situation.

Hi all,
I am trying to flash another JB rom the other day.
I just turned off the Prime completely, and try to enter the recovery mode by holding power and down, then up within 5 seconds...
It then showed the Android laying down with the heart opened:silly:
I have to holding power to restart and boot normally into the rom.
I didn't do any wipe or flashing at all...
Later, I restart and now totally stuck on the splash screen with "ASUS", not even able to boot in to the rom I'm currently using...
Any help?!
Thanks
We need more information. What ROM were you using before this happened, what ROM did you try to flash, and is your device unlocked?

He has to be unlocked otherwise he wouldn't have had a different rom on there or recovery before.
Hold down the power button and volume down button for 10 seconds, keep holding them until the screen with all the icons on it appear (recovery, wipe, usb icon etc) look up the top at the writing and at the end of the line with bootloader in it is a long number that starts with 9 or a 10. What number is it ?

Considering he says he got Dead Andy that makes it possible that he was on stock and just tried to use stock recovery to flash a custom ROM. I understand your point, the OP is just lacking details.

Hi McJesus, before this happened, I was using this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1911024
and I am trying to shift to shis one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982156
I was trying to enter the recovery mode to prepare wipe and flash procesure, I remember I used to use TWRP, but failed, it stopped at the "dead Android" icon, and I could get out only by restarting.
Then I researched and installed Goo and Rom manager, yet, just installed those, not done any flashing or wipe whatsoever.
Then start doing recovery mode, failed, normal boot, totally hanged, on the splash screen with "Asus"...I coudle restart with holding the power buttom though.
The device is unlocked.
Thanks for helping,

Hi, i just got a bricked GT-P7500 which previously had Cyanogen nightly build on it and i was wondering how to install another firmware on it using odin, and which firmware i should install on it, i searched the forum and found the site sammobile, but it gives me a ton of results and i don't know which one i should choose , also are there any stable custom firmwares for the GT-P7500? also is there a driver for the GT-P7500?
Please help,
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I encountered the same thing with my device. Press and hold the power button until the screen is off (device is restarting) and press power + volume down button to go into recovery. Perform the data and cache wipes and reboot the device. It should be booting into Android after that.

If I press power + volume down all I get is a picture of a penguin, which stays there until the phone runs out of battery.
Does anyone know how I fix this?

This is normal I don't think you can do anything with that, what do you actually want to achieve?
Same here. When I try to install TWRP all I get is the tux penguin. Trying to root the x800.

I was trying to root the phone and get a new ROM but I've since managed to do both.
I wrote a very quick guide in another thread, for anyone else experiencing the same problem.

Yes it does. I mentioned the penguin specifically:
Seeing the penguin is normal. I have managed to fix the issues I have and I am running a custom ROM by Cuoco92, all thanks to the help I got from @simidisc.
I will assume that you have installed all appropriate USB drivers.
1. Visit http://bit.ly/1Q6irPH and download SEZIONE FIRMWARE and SEZIONE RECOVERY. Don't worry about this being in Italian - I don't speak Italian and managed no problem.
2. Copy the zip file from Sezione Firmware to your phone.
3. Unzip the the recovery file on your computer and connect your phone to your computer.
4. After unzipping TWRP, run "Install Over Fastboot".
5. Your phone will reboot and you will see THE PENGUIN. Just press VOLUME UP + POWER at the same time and your phone will reboot to TWRP.
6. You should now be able to flash the ROM, making sure to wipe cache, dalvik etc.
help needed..

Did you follow the steps above? When you see the Penguin, did you press VOL UP + POWER?
If so, what happened? This should boot to TWRP.

TWRP Fastboot
I am having the same problem.
The penguin comes on then no matter what I do, it either just reboots (if I keep holding power down) and continues to do this for ever, or boots into the LeEco recovery, if I press volume up and power, or just boots into EUI rom if I do nothing.
Any suggestions?
Phone is not rooted.

I need help with booting into recovery mode on E5803 with 7.1.1 firmware. Phone is stock, not rooted, locked bootloader.
The problem is that "adb reboot recovery" simply reboots the phone to OS.
Turning it off, pressing Volume Down and connecting to computer while holding volume down has the same result.
Any advice would be appreciated.

there isn't a recovery for stock.. well.. there is.. but not like a normal ui recovery but it's only used as the OTA loader to upgrade for OEM

Thanks.
My reason for trying to get into recovery was to erase cache in the hope this could resolve some of the sluggish behavior that I noticed after 7.1.1 update. Is there an easy way to do that?
I also got worried that my inability to get into recovery could prevent me from flashing a different stock rom with xperifirm/flashtool. I guess, I should not have a problem.
(I am thinking of flashing a stock rom for a different country in the hope of getting fingerprint working though I did not see confirmations of this working on nougat.)

mmmm try vol up+power
clear the play caches and services
and then try another vol up+ power cycle
edit: the volume up + power button, needs to be done while the device is on... the device will vibrate 3 times and the display turns off to indicate it did it's clear
also - quickly check the app settings page and scan to look for any system apps that appear as 0.0KB / 0Bytes
mentioned it @ the sonyforum https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xper...of-clean-upgrades-amp-boot/m-p/1243574#M38418

what do you mean that your phone is stuck at recovery mode? if not you can enable the developers option this is the steps
1.) Go to setting
2.) Go to About phone
3.) tap the build number 7 times
4.) now quit the setting then open it again
5.) scroll down then choose the developers option
thats how you open developers option
basically when I reboot turn off> it will "never" boot into normal mode. My phone is so broken that pressing power button only still boot into recovery mode, wipe data and reboot still into recovery mode.

your phone seems to be new which means that your volume keys are still new and good so thats not our problem here your phone didin't boot right? did you do something to your system phone like flashing or something? because if you do there is a big chance that you screw up something in your phone resulting it to be like that. now your phone can still be charge right there might be still a hope we just need to reflash your whole firmware ( if the problem is really a firmware) you said before you cant boot right then there must be a problem in the booting process, i tested this on my phone before i clean wipe my whole phone and that include system partition so when i tried to boot my phone it wont and when i charge it no logo would appear just like yours so im guessing that you phone partition is gone and like you said to its bricked now. if thats the case we need to flash the whole firmware

Thanks for reply>to avoid confusion no I did not do anything/flashing/even enable usb debugging to my OPPO A15S. I am total newbie that I flash Samsung J7 once only. The Oppo A15S yes it is 1-2 years only, volume key clicking works fine but after system update via setting>Official Oppo coloros things. My phone kinda messed up volume key not working<google results say because a lot of phone cannot boot up because of volume key. So should I pry open my phone to see the volume key? Or just wait until 1 day scheduled power up happens?
Logs:
Wednesday 5am my phone auto boot up in recovery mode.I press restart and the screen black nothing happens.
Thursday 5am no boot up
Friday no boot up too.
So I assume it is my phone power is low and somehow my auto scheduled power on force my phone to boot up? and that time system auto update causes my phone die in midway?

hmm i see you didnt do anything in your phone but you did say that you updated it right? while updating you phone did something happen? like rebooting? if so there might be a chance that it became corrupted because of ,that while in the case of your power button what kind of problem does it have? does it work correctly? or you cant click it like its stuck or something? or maybe the button is working correctly and your phone just doesnt boot up? if the button is really problem like google stated ----->
Why is my OPPO always in Recovery mode?
One of the most common causes is that one of the buttons used to access android system recovery is defective or malfunctioning. Now, you should first check if the physical buttons are responding properly, especially the volume buttons, before trying to get rid of the Android Recovery Mode.
you should probably check you physical button because that might be a problem and i just remembered i have the same problem in my sisters phone vivo y53 its always stuck in recovery mode and we are confused why did it happen so we bring it to our technician friend and let him fix it and he really fix it he he told me that if something happen like this again check all the buttons correctly. Now there is really problem in you button and you cant just pry in you phone you might break something you should let the professional do it like technician after you fix your button try to boot up again and if its still black screen or recovery then the problem is in the phone system and you can comeback here so we can help you fix it.
