Other than the TeamWin or TWRP how can I backup my system settings, software, apps and such. I don't want to root as it will void the warranty with Verizon and Samsung.
Helium (previously known as Carbon) in the App store. It needs to be authorized via USB.
Good luck getting Helium to work. I spent days struggling with it, and could get a partial backup about 1 time in 10. And the developer provides zero support.
Super Backup Pro can backup your apps and other things, you can also use Samsung Backup to do that.

But not app data (without Root).
FYI, Helium works fine for me on all the devices I've recently used: Sprint Galaxy Note 3 (flashed to AOKP 7.1.2 Nougat), Unlocked 910C Galaxy Note 4 (both stock ROM & LOS 7
1.2), Unlocked GS7E, Unlocked GS8+ (Nougat, Oreo beta), and Unlocked GS9+ (Oreo).

Helium doesn't work for me I'm actually trying to restore my app data from an Xperia phone to my S9+ and I'm stuck at 7% with helium.

Have you tried copying the Android data folder from Xperia to S9+ and than installing the apps?

I couldn't find the folder where the app is keeping it's data.

All app data is stored in "Android" folder on the root of your internet or external storage.
how did you guys manage to get helium to work? It just refuses to work for me I activate it from the pc and the min i close the app and start it again it asks for activation again. I contacted the developer but got no response from him.

My first post, so please be gentle with me...
I have recently accidentally deleted the standard ICS Download Manager on my wife's rooted Huawei G300 (I wasn't wearing my glasses...). This means that the Play Store no longer works. I have the identical phone, so I used Titanium to backup the D.Man., copied the files across to the same folder in my wife's phone. Unfortunately, Titanium doesn't "see" the backup.
Can anyone suggest how I could reinstall before my wife finds out...?
is the phone rooted??

Never could try but it should work. Here is an example with Dead Trigger 2. To know what is the package name of your game go to Settings > Apps > All > Select your app and you will see it.
Go to /data/app and search for the right package name. The one of Dead Trigger 2 is com.madfingergames.deadtrigger2.
The file you have to copy/paste to your 2nd device (same directory of course) is com.madfingergames.deadtrigger2-1.apk.
This is a manual method but you can do it through a 3rd party app like Helium.

Hi there, there are many apps on the market you can use to backup apps/games + data ( I use Titanium Backup), it's very easy to use you just install it and find the games you want to backup and it will automaticlly backup it's data and progress.
You should install the app on both devices and then send the files from "Titanium Backup" folder to the other phone and RESTORE the game (the game's progress will be automaticlly restored).
That should do it. Enjoy.

Helium doesn't need root. You can backup into your internal storage or in the Cloud.

Changing phones and what to transfer the apps that I like on the S4 to the S5.
Are there any compatibility issues that I should be aware of while doing this.
Since I am currently on KK 4.4.4 with the S4, my plan is to copy my none system apps to the S5?
Anyone having any problems in doing this?
These are both Samsung phones and the only real difference is going from Sprint to TMO. My current phone is rooted and has a custom ROM. I do plan to root the S5 immediately and install CWM Recovery.

Using Titanium Backup has no issues. Came from S4 like you.
I used helium backup on mine.
Worked great.

Just to confirm, I can just install my apps from my last TB backup after I root the S5?

Usually. It's not guaranteed or foolproof, but it will work with most apps. The best path is of course reinstalling apps. But many people find it easier to transplant them as you are planning to and it usually works.

Only app that gave me an issue was Viper4Android because it restored the data and thought that the drivers were installed when they weren't, so repeatedly forced closed. But yeah just let TiB do its thing. You may encounter some apps force closing but a clear data usually fixes it. User apps aren't that big a problem when switching devices.
Thanks to all for the help, made the move with TB and all went well.
I use Shareit
This thread got me thinking, why doesn't android have a more native non root method for making and restoring backups with app data?

hi everyone,
well i have 2 Xperia Z5 Compact, the one I use now I will sell to my friend, and the other I will start to use. how can I clone or transfer or do like in windows image ghost all the system+ data to the other Z5 compact before I sell?
is it possible to clone/copy/transfer/flash everything in my current Z5 Compact to the new one?
Both of them are the same variant E5823
if yes, how can I do that please?
any suggestion will be so much appreciated!
thank you all
There app called xperia transfer. Maybe that can help you
Xperia transfer was made for this. If it doesn't get everything there are non root backup apps as well.

It's called nandroid backup in Android world, you can swap the current state of your device between other devices and back again. I keep daily backups in the cloud

Yup, that's why we suggested the xperia transfer. There's no need to transfer system files back and forth. I don't remember the non root backup apps but there are a lot of popular ones similar to titanium back up

maybe use a universal phone clone app
Definitely works across Huawei/Honor range - used it to move from Honor 7 to P10 Lite, then on to Honor 9.
If you can get the app installed on another manufacturer's device, don't see why it shouldn't work.

No, the data should be fine. The Backup app backs up the data and the app - when you restore, most of the apps will restore fine. I think the only ones I had a problem with were a banking app, and Netflix? Even stuff like Google Authenticator worked ok.
