Hello everyone
I was using with no issues Google Pay on my Mate 10 Pro then on the 7th of March I updated the phone to 8.0.0.131 Full OTA.
I spent few days abroad and I tried to use Google Pay to top in some shop and didn't work. I thought it was because Google Pay wasn't enabled in that country, but when I came back it was still not working.
I called my bank and they confirmed everything was fine in their side. They suggested me to remove and re-add my card, so I did it...
Unfortunately after that I'm not able to add my card anymore as I get this error message:
Google Pay can't be used on this device. This may because your device is rooted, has an unlocked bootloader or is running a custom ROM. As a result, Google can't confirm that your device meets Google Pay's security standards.
I contacted Google Pay support and they weren't able to help me. They just say to contact Huawei.
Passing the days I recalled I did the software update on 03/07 and here we are...
Has anyone any suggestion how to fix it?
Thanks
It looks the CTS Profile match has failed
Maybe the firmware you installed wasn't quite ready for public release. I know when I had Xiaomi phones, sometimes it took a day or so after installing an update to pass safety net.

Try 137 full ota on ff. Gpay will work fine on these firmware.
On 131 not working for me too.

Firmware not approved for my mobile yet. Beside this, I'm able to download the the update, but the connection to the server fails continuously...
Do you think it's possible and worth to rollback to 8.0.0.128?
Thanks
Yes but after downgrade to 128 most likely you have to factory restet becouse phone got bootlop.
In my opinion wait for approved 137 on ff or instal it using Funky Huawei. You can too unlock your bootloader and flash firmware manually.
Thank...looks like I've to wait for now
Has anyone an idea how long should take to get a firmware approved on Firmware Finder? I still get the message the firmware is not approved for installation...
I'm concern if this delay is due to the CTS profile mismatch.
Thanks
Hey guys...finally I got the firmare approved. Issue solved...Goohle Pay is now working!
Thanks

I installed the latest 134(noxloaderC636) from Funky Huawei and my Google Pay doesn't work either. I checked Safety Net and it fails just like the OP

I am trying to relock bootloader in attempt to get Android Pay working. Does anybody know how to do that? I have tried the fastboot oem lock without success. Also have reinstalled stock ROM mutliple times without success either.
Try downgrading the firmware first, then upgrade again using the official process posted on ASUS. This should work with any Lollipop firmware you have installed. By doing that this may downgrade the bootloader, and by updating it to 5.0 again that should re-lock the bootloader.
Even this might be the case, I think even after you do this it could be a waste, because the padfone s firmware doesnt even support taptopay. The only way android pay might work is by having padfone x firmware run. (even that might not work because its old).
I want this to work too, but I think (in my opinion) we should wait a little bit more to see if android AOSP could support that feature or if some person finds away to make it work by going past that safteynet api.
It is also not too long that a representative of google commented on this issue as well, hinting that they acknowledged the problem with this process.
I might as well wait, and plus not even all the stores in my area support this type of payment.

Yeah, I reverted back to the X firmware to see if I could get it to work. It got to the option to add a card and just after agreeing to the bank terms, it gave me the error about android not being able to verify if device/software is compatible. I have disabled root and tried using root cloak.
After some reading I found that people were able to get it to work with relocking bootloader. Others said that future patches may fix the issue considering google wallet had the same issues when first released.

Yes, Im hoping for AOSP support as its one step closer to putting on cyanogenmod, since it stems from that. Then it wouldn't be long for a compromise. Might as well wait.
I've just received my Mate 10 and I love it, coming from a Nexus 6P which was a great phone when it was released, but 2 years on it aged quickly, the battery used to die at 20%. I've had Mate 10 for 24 hours now, only charged it once out of the box, transferred all my apps and photos, watched a film and I'm still sitting at 80% that's insane!
So naturally now I've got used to the phone, and figured out what it can and can't do, the next logical step is to root it, install Adaway and whatever else. But I'm pretty new at Huawei phones, although I had a Nexus 6P it was easy to root. I've had Sony Xperia's in the past that when you rooted them, certain apps stopped working or the camera quality degraded, does anything like that happen with the Mate series? And if not, how can I root this phone asap?
There is no route available if there was, someone here would surely post about it.
That being said a root method will first be discovered with Chinese users on Chinese websites and forms and if were lucky enough the translated although may be poorly translated guide will be ported here to XDA.
I had the mate 8, rooted, custom ROM. the issue that I had with that phone along with every other phone that I installed a custom ROM to was, that about a month after doing a fresh install of a custom ROM the phone would get so slow and on the mate eight certain installs would get so slow that the phone would just hang and crash on simply trying to unlock the phone.
So, that being said, I don't know if the same issues were experienced by other users but I don't think I'm going to be rooting my phone anytime soon I'm gonna try to use this phone the way it was meant to be use out-of-the-box although I have been experiencing crashing which makes me kind of regret getting this phone because as it is right now it is unusable.
Unstable? You think? I've had no issues so far and I've read about something called Funkyhuawei but it seems like a very expensive option just to mod the phone

Just rooting the phone is free with FunkyHuawei, if you have your bootloader unlock code. Rebranding it costs money.
Google for "FunkyHuawei Mate 10 Root/Rebranding tool" and use the tool there to root.
Be careful because there are some caveats to rooting, namely losing your data partition.
Also, once you gain root be EXTREMELY CAREFUL, because Huawei phones are notoriously easy to brick, and you won't be able to unbrick for free in many cases.
I rooted my Mate 10. All I needed was the bootloader unlock code from Huawei, and the FunkyHuawei tool. Worked great, took about 20 minutes, if you don't need to rebrand, root is free using their tool.

The main thing you'll notice is that you'll be missing stock themes and wallpapers and such. I don't think there is a huge effect, but I don't use root on the Mate 10, so hopefully someone else can chime in.

It's good to know that there is a root option available for the make 10. Especially coming from a US user.
I will debate whether I should use root or not. To be honest I'm more concerned with stability. Because right now on stock firmware, not rooted, I'm facing many crashes.
I've a question, this might be a newbie question, but if you root your device, will it still receive OTA updates?
I remember with my mate eight after routing, and installing a custom ROM, it was not recognized by the official Huawei PC suite if I wanted to update to nougat stock nougat firmware.
I have had the Mate 8, 9 and now the 10 and with all of them I have never rooted them as I have been very happy with the whole experience.
Has anyone in the UK managed to get Huawei Cloud working? Mine keeps saying it can't connect to the server

I rooted my Mate 10 too but I got some bugs. I can't apply themes, I lost the translator and the camera doesn't recognize different scenarios.
Rooting is free on FunkyHuawei, and those who said stay away from root because you can not get update, these guys are just guessing pretending they know what they are talking about but they don't, when I received my M10 I rooted it after 5 days just because my windows 10 does not recognize my android device but a guy link me to fix it and then it took 10mins to root it and this is the first android device I rooted fyi, and then I rooted an update was issued by Huawei, so I just click update now so my M10 gets updated but when you update the root will be gone, so all you need to do is root it again this time it takes may be 5-6 mins this time because you know now what you are doing.
Will I loose all my data, or only some themes?
I also have several questions:
1) is it true that once the bootloader is unlocked it can be relocked but it is marked as "relocked" not "locked" so it is noticeable that the device has been tinkered with?
2) The reason for using the funkyhuawei tool is that there is not a working TWRP for the mate 10 - correct?
Thanks in advance!

Hey guys,
On TeamMT's firmware finder is EMUI for VTR-L09 and VTR-L29 International (C432) available.
Post here if you tried to update and if it's works or not.
Edit: Updated B381 with a modified version of my guide. I'll release it today for testing purposes. I didn't do a factory reset, all my files are still there. But I noticed that the system works slowly.
Did you update through e-recovery in ff?
If you do factory reset, it will probably fix the slow performance.
Does the device show as official in play store/about? Is it beta or official release? Did you upgrade from B384?

I updated with my own script I released here (tutorial 4)
It's not slow anymore, I did a reboot and now everything works fine.
I upgraded from B381.
There's no information by Huawei if it's beta or stable.
And what do you mean with official in play store? Couldn't find anything like that.
He talks about 'certified device' under settings in google play.

There's nothing about that, I googled some screenshots and the part with "Device certification" is completely missing. Play Services updated directly after I launched Pie for the first time.
See the attached screenshot.

I doubt that beta fw would be up to c432. Besides a day ago Oreo downgrade popped up there was no fw update this month.

It should come after some time. Try reset phone and wait. If it says uncertified it's bad. If it says certified, it's safe for us to upgrade before official release.

I'm on Pie now for 10 hours and installed some apps via Play Store. Still nothing to see there.
EDIT: I removed the data and cache from play store app. Now it's saying "Not certified". So I checked some guides and on the official Google page to enable custom roms for using Googles services there's the command "adb root".
My output is "adbd cannot run as root in production builds", so maybe it's still in beta. I don't know what this means for me but I hope there will be any problems with Google in the future for me.
EDIT2: I followed this tutorial and added my device to the device list. Play Store still shows uncertified but I'm hoping, that this won't affect me. At the moment I can use everything as before.

Unfortunately, this happens when the firmware still is not "approved for installation". That the device is not certified can make it hard to install bank apps, Netflix, Spotify and more. Also I think you will not receive any more ota. I would go back to b384 and wait to get official update.

If you're willing to test it, you can try my script. Please use tutorial #3 and this TWRP.
The reason for tutorial #3 is this guide I've found. The linked script works the same as my script does.
Just follow tutorial#3 but first completely remove any device lock like pin and fingerprint.
Otherwise, there's no official method for the P10. I'll try my own when I have time, maybe today's afternoon.

No issues, the animations feel a bit smoother I think.
I noticed that gboards haptic feedback failed sometimes which is kinda annoying. Mostly I type very fast and it feels like I missed a key when I'm in a flow. That's the only bug I noticed.
Face unlock is way faster btw
Did they change the camera app or is it still the same? Thanks .
Camera app is a bit different, has adittional slider to switch functions, more convenient imo.

Hi
I have Mate 20 Pro (Lya-L09, EMUI 9.0.0) that I upgraded from original firmware to 9.0.0.210 using MikeOS method.
Now i just want it back to stock as when i 'check for updates' it never finds any even though i know new firmware has been released OTA.
I have downloaded updated firmware through Firmware Finder (tried both through the phone and through the app)
However, no method seems to work (I've tried all of them). They usually just error out or nothing at all. I've tried/looked at different tools: SP Flash, Flashy, Dload (dialer and eRecovery), MikeOS.
I'm happy to lose everything and start again, i just don't know how and I'm going around in circles looking at various websites and threads.
Any help appreciated.
Which cust is your device ? Cxxx ?
Does your bootloader is unlocked ?

Try changing your home internet/Wi-Fi DNS and then use eRecovery. Some ISPs may block access to China sites. At least mine does. When I use my home Wi-Fi, I can't access some China sites, but if I use my cell network instead, I can access those sites without problem.
Factory reset your phone first might help. Since you tried so many ways to update, you might have messed up some system files.

That should update you to B212.

So far on kirin980 there is only dirty-softrebrand. (DC-Phoenix flash or forced hisuite flash or even possibly renamed dload package flash)
Meaning device's vendorcountry stays the same, but with cust and preload forced to another region. Beware of that on emui10 where it seems there is checks at boot about cust&preload version.

Sorry for the necro, and not asking if phone can be rooted as wow, am not surprised how many asked already lol.
I purchased four unlocked Nokia 7.2 which forced updated to 10 upon bootup. I'm trying to deal with two issues, one of which I believe is either the Google phone dialer stopping all other phone dialer recording programs from working with a message "call to short to record". Phone has an oem unlock feature in developer section and I see the bootloader is locked, and all research says OS 10 stops this from getting unlocked. After seeing absolutely zero posts on YouTube about downgrading a Nokia 7.2 to OS 9, and so many scam sites, I figure best option is to ask here.
Can a Nokia 7.2 be flashed down to OS 9 where bootloader can then be unlocked, or are all the posts I'm seeing, just wishful thinking fakes? Thanks.

Thanks.

Hi, essentially the only way to downgrade a locked device is via a Nokia Care point or otherwise tools which can replicate what the Nokia Care tools do. All of these will have a price and unfortunately, no free way exists. You can opt for some remote services.
The tutorials on random websites will help in no way because a locked bootloader will not let you flash any device partitions, thereby disallowing downgrades as well. You cannot load an older OTA package from recovery mode because its date will mismatch.

I have no trouble paying to get this done. It's finding the place to do it that's in the way. I called metro and tmobile and both said they don't offer this service. Least the ones in California I called. One site offered at $4.50 rollback and $8 to root and I am more wary of that then the free ones lol. Any suggestions to real places? Thanks for getting back.

I will edit this after, if this works so others can try as well. It's not free and is costing me $150 to do. Will update in a few weeks.
