Just upgraded from AT&T S8+ to the US unlocked S9+ and very disappointed that I can't turn off the camera shutter volume.
I know you can on any of the US carrier's variant, but due to different international laws, the unlocked model is missing that feature.
Any mods out there to hack this? I know in the older Android, all you need is root to delete that audio file.
It's actually in the camera settings. Scroll all the way down and you'll see an option to disable to shutter sound

Apparently you didn't read my post lol.. I know you can disable it from non-unlocked model. I am using the unlocked version straight from Samsung and that setting is not there. See this screenshot below of the "Camera Setting"

I'm using Tasker plugin, it's an automation tool and paid app. My settings are when i'm using the cam it goes automatically to silent mode and after closing the cam it goes back to last saved mode.

Turning system sounds volume to 0 works for uk unlocked
Maybe try switching the profile of your phone to "silent mode" or "vibrate mode"
Disable shuttle sound for Samsung S9 unlocked ver.
From main screen. Go to setting apps/Sound and vibration/Change Sound mode to vibrate or mute. It will stops the shuttle sound when take picture.
Maybe flashing your device to a particular carrier will enable it for you. What carrier are you using and does their variant allow for the shutter sound to be disabled?

Unfortunately, no.
Hello
add this to your Cscfeature. xml
Code:
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>TRUE</CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
Like someone already mentioned. Turned down system volume to 0.

Had this issue with the Sprint Note8 with no option to turn it off. Simply ask Bixby to turn off camera shutter sound and it worked...give it a try!

I searched and couldn't find anything, but has anyone figured out how to disable the shutter sound when you take a screenshot with the s-pen? Its sound is incredibly loud, especially in an office setting, and doesn't quiet down with the camera shutter sound turned off.
Edit: It's a "media" sound so turning down the media volume helps, but I usually keep that at max cuz I listen to music in my car. It would still be nice to just disable this.
Put the phone in silent mode first. You can do it easily by using the volume down rocker.
Thanks, I suppose that is a solution, but it'd still be nice to just disable the damn sound so I don't have to worry about turning the volume up and down. If anyone else has figured out how to just disable it I'm eager to hear about it.
Isn't there granularity on the sound settings? Try lowering the system bar.
There is, but it's media, not system volume.

I disabled it, its in the camera settings.
The only option I see there is the shutter sound for the actual camera itself, which I do have disabled. However when I take a screenshot I still get the click.
Are you not experiencing the same thing?

Hmm, no that is weird, I'm not getting that.
Is your media volume turned down maybe? I'm sitting here taking screenshots, hearing the click (even though I turned it down via media vol) but my camera shutter makes no sound.

I guess my media volume was on mute, sure it is easy to fix with a rooted phone once a dev digs through and finds what files to edit/delete.
Heh okay, thanks for digging around for me. I figured it'll get fixed with root, was just making sure I'm not crazy and wasn't missing anything.
How do you turn off the shutter sound on the camera without silencing the phone? I cannot find it in the camera app.

Verizon doesn't give us the option to turn it off. I ended up using Tasker. If you search the forums others have mentioned other fixes they have used.

Theres an option to turn the shutter sound off. Open the camera, hit menu and open the settings menu, hit the gear on the far right for more settings and its near the bottom.

Thats only there if you have a custom rom or modified camera app
If you are rooted, go to /system/csc/feature.xml and change this to true (make a copy first in case it gets messed up):
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>true</CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
Reboot and it will be in the camera menu.
My bad didnt think about that. Have been running synergy since the day I got my s4. Thanks tho.

Not rooted and running the latest vzw update, if I have my ring volume off (silent mode, and vibrate only) I get no shutter sound. Only way but it works.

A strange and slightly annoying matter of fact, after I upgraded my C6802 to 4.3 I'm no longer able to disable the shutter sound in the default camera app. The menu/setting option is gone. Anyone else had the same problem?
My C6802 is the HK version, and I was able to disable it in 4.2.2.
I do live in Japan, and did upgrade while in Japan, but should that matter?
(I know that phones 'sold in Japan' aren't able to have their shutter sound disabled, but the Z Ultra isn't for sale in Japan, so in my opinion it shouldn't matter.)

Did you try to change regional setting to another country?
If your ZU is rooted and Xposed framework installed, please try WedyMod-res.
Enable it and check "Don't force camera sound (カメラシャッター音設定を表示)", then reboot.
I only tested on Z1 4.3, but maybe the cause of this issue is same...
Sony added "force camera sound" settings in framework-res.apk for countries like Japan.

Decompile framework-res.apk and find "values-mcc440" in res folder.
mcc440 means "Mobile country code - Japan" and it contains bools.xml.
Contents are
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<resources>
<bool name="config_camera_sound_forced">true</bool>
</resources>
and this bool disables shutter sound option.
If you inserts Japanese SIM card, this bool is automatically loaded.
If your SIM is for countries not restricting muted shutter sound or you don't insert SIM, option is still there.

Is there a way to use slider to manually focus on s6 edge in pro mode? I saw someone doing that on new s7.
I doubt it. I'm not sure about you but the s6/s6e are both bull**** devices that were clearly test devices to make way for the s7. The s5 had the sd card with the water resistance and dust proof that was taken away for the s6 and edge and then brought it back for the s7. Everybody who got any variant of the s6 was ripped off in my opinion

There is an app called " Cinema 4k " and you can do it while recording video, but for me it doesn't work with marshmallow...
Update to MM and pro mode has been changed a bit. You can even choose aperture time shot. The iso has lowered to 50 too.

During video recording use pinch for one time and then a bar will be there for manuel focus. Not sure if this is what you asked.

Yes there is a vertical bar (S7), or horizontal bar (S6) that enable you just to zoom, but you'll be able to focus by taping the screen with Pro mode enabled first, try this Bro....

Since One UI 5.0, the feature "Schedule Restart" had been removed. Is there a schedule restart app that works in Samsung S23 Ultra phone and does not requires the phone to be rooted? Tried "Refresh - Auto Reboot, No Root" app and seems complicated to setup and couldn't get it to work.

Yes I have enable this but is kind of useless. A proper Schedule Restart app will be good. Don't know why Samsung removed this feature with the new One UI 5.0.

Actually not much on restart, I want the phone to be schedule shutdown at for example 1am and power on at 7am which I been using the schedule off and on for my previous Mate and Xiaomi phones that came with this feature.
Edit: Change my thread title to "Apps to schedule off and on"

The question is not that, the good thing would be to be able to turn it on or off at the scheduled time for whatever reason, but as far as I know in the Samsung now you can not
I don't see the sense in having the phone start up: unless there is no security setting - which is not sensible - the phone actually won't start up until the phone is unlocked by the user...
Settings for planned periods in do not disturb -, or Airplane mode, should serve most needs.

The automatic start is fine if you have programmed an alarm and leave the phone off, it will start and without having entered the credentials the alarm will sound.
