d802 hard bricked and not responding any advice appreciated - LG V30 Questions & Answers

Hiya I managed to brick my d802 after wipng from twrp I believe.
It seems hard bricked and nothing is working, all the happens when I boot is that i gets stuck in the LG logo. If I try download mode its not working and when I hit the power button all it shows is "charging! ??/100" in a yellow font.
Its not showing up in windows device manager as anything but "charging" also tried the guide on short circuiting the connections on the processor and its not responding to that also.
Ive attracted a link to a screenshot of the charging error. any advice is appreciated.

2013 LG G2 D802? Why post here in the 2017 LG V30 forum? Surely fellow G2 owners could help you better...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/help
But sounds like you accidentally wiped internal storage in TWRP, wiping out your OS and all internal memory.
You'll need to boot back into TWRP and drag over from a PC a compatible ROM to flash. You'll have to do the LG button dance to get into TWRP. After that, connect to PC and it'll act like a flash drive you can pull over items from PC.
Or did you by any chance make a backup in TWRP that you could restore? If not, why not? First thing you should do, when you install TWRP...

[Q] Could anyone help me unbrick my Optimus L9 LG-P760?

Hello everyone,
I've searched everywhere I can think of to figure out how to solve my problem, and I assume the answer is hiding in an obscure part of an earlier thread on these fora. I was able to root my L9 P760 running Android 4.1(Jelly Bean) and from there naively assumed I could flash the recovery using ClockworkMod. After rebooting I've been getting the infamous "Security Error" screen. I've been able to get the "S/W Upgrade" screen, but that's as far as I got. I believe this means the bootloader is locked.
I followed a lot of instructions I found including using fastboot via omap4boot(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119090) and the offline kdz flash(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344), but without luck. Fastboot would cause the phone to reboot, losing the "S/W Upgrade" screen and the kdz method would stall at 4%, leading me to find out that the phone needs to be in the "LG Update" USB mode, which I can't achieve because it won't boot.
I have two Macs running OS X 10.7 which can dual-boot into Windows 7. All software is up to date. I have experience using the command-line.
I hope there's a solution to this, and I hope that posting this here can help others avoid this problem in future.
Thanks in advance,
Pieter
Edit: I finally managed to flash a stock version of recovery, the x-loader and u-boot for Jelly Bean using the fastboot script from here. For those in a similar situation, I set the driver for the OMAP4xxx device which goes under TI devices(or something like that) and then I had to set the driver for a device called LG P4(or something, I didn't take a screenshot). I was then able to use the stock LG Mobile Support Tool, via the "Recovery Phone" option, to restore the newest version. However, it still won't boot properly. I get the LG logo when turning it on, and then the animation with the LG logo with the shiny effect on the smiley face keeps running in a loop. Is this the boot loop problem I've seen people asking about? How do I access recovery(and would that accomplish anything)? Any help would be appreciated.
Edit 2: I think I fixed it! I'm just documenting what I did to be helpful to other people. I had tried to do a hard reset earlier, but it didn't work. I tried it just now, and it worked, I got an droid with a progress bar underneath. Then it booted, and I heard the startup sound which I didn't know I was missing. I would still like to know in detail what I did wrong, and what I did right, and why it was right. Thanks in advance.
Simple, you probably did nothing wrong. Things just happen. I had this happen to me once. Security Error
However, I didn't install a custom rom or recovery img. All I did was flash a different kdz version (for my device). So my guess is that the boot img or other img, got corrupted.
I fixed my issue by flashing x, u, boot, recovery all in fastboot. Then I ran the flash update program again and it worked

How do you brick your phone. Did you try to hard reset it? Did you try offline flash or LG mobile support tool to recover your phone?

LG L9 bricked to the limits

I probably just did something, that is supposed to be impossible. I bricked my LG L9...
I had 20f soft with root and tried to unlock bootloader using some method, that is about flashing KDZ files of V10 and V20 roms using offline mode of LG Support Tool.Well it looks like something is not right. After the whole process, the device rebooted aaaand stuck on the second LG logo, I thought it was fine, just need to hard reset but no. Now, when i try to hard reset i get the "dead android"with the red sign, and every rom i'm trying to flash using this offline support tool gets only to 50% and then says, that the device is no longer connected (?????). I tried to get back to stock rom using support tool recovery but same here. 50% and nothing more. Today, i've bought 910k cable, heard that may help but i'm not sure how to use it.
If anyone is able to help, i would be very grateful. And sorry for all spelling mistakes.

[help] Bricked phone LG G3 Verizon 5.0.1

I rooted my phone today. That went well. The purpose to root my phone was to install the ported LG G4 camera app on my LG G3.
I tried to post a link to the steps I was following, but I am too new to post them. If someone wants me to PM them the links, I can do that, if allowed.
My phone will now not boot. It goes from the LG logo to the Android dude laying down with a red triangle coming out of his chest.
I have booted into recovery. I have tried all of the options, safe mode, USB debug mode, factory data reset, wipe cache, and power down. Nothing seems to work. When the phone attempts to boot up while plugged into a windows computer the device manager recognizes the phone.
I am lost. Can anyone help me or am I going back to Verizon and hoping they dont turn me away?

Sent from my VS985 4G using XDA Free mobile app
So what started at 8pm ended at 3am. I used the video mentioned. I had to do it 3 times. Each time the end result was different. Including a blue screen with the number 2 and then the blue screen with the number 3. Thank you guys.

Please tell WHAT V30 you have. Saying you have "V30" is like saying you have a "Dell" computer. There's over a dozen variants.
What did you try, to root? Which method? (Depends on which variant your have) What Instructions?
Did you flash correct firmware? Did you use Dev Patched LGUP? What mode did you use?
You've tried Master Reset?
Hi
Thank you for replay. I think I tried every combination to wake up my LG V30. I tried wake up from yesterday and about 30 minutes ago I tried different combination this was only my idea and my phone work. I don't know how I do this. I tried root my phone to get my photos after factory reset

My questions besides variant (H930, thank you) were what firmware you flashed (if any), did you use Dev Patched LGUP. If you flashed incorrect firmware, that can cause brick, for instance. So, I also wanted to know what Instructions you followed and which step you were on?
For instance, did your brick occur when you flashed firmware? Or did it occur while in ADB and you were trying to give commands to unlock bootloader?
Master Reset -- using buttons:
1. Unplug phone and turn it OFF.
2. Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons.
3. When the LG logo appears, quickly release the Power button only -- then immediately press Power button again, while STILL pressing the Volume down button until you see the screen to select Yes to erase and reset everything.
4. Release both buttons so you can make your choices.
____________
IF the phone won't turn off, hold the power button by itself for like 2 minutes.

Now I know why you didn't ask this in the WTF Instructions thread. You used LG's "official" bootloader unlock code. I'm sorry I can't help.
THESE are the only instructions you should be using to bootloader unlock and root any V30 (except for T-mobile H932).
WTF V30/V30+/V30S Bootloader Unlock and Root
Everything you needed is in that thread. After temporarily downgrading to early Oreo, unlocking bootloader with OUR code, you also need to flash correct version of TWRP, encryption disabler and root checker disabler files, plus Magisk. Those instructions tell you the exact order, as well as Trouble Shooting Tips.
But LG official bootloader unlock is different. Theoretically you don't need to downgrade, but you are dependent on their code.
Maybe someone else can help. But if Master Reset isn't working, then the LG bootloader unlock code messed up your phone?

Go to photos.google.com and see if your pictures are there?
I have auto backup for my pictures when my phone connects to any Wi-Fi signal. I don't use cellular data, but I do use free Wi-Fi to back up my pictures.
I've had friends break/lose their phone and forget they had that turned on. They didn't lose anything...

Phone stuck on logo!

I tried updating to android pie, then the phone reset and now its endlessly stuck on the logo, I cant turn it off, only thing that seemed to work was getting into the master reset menu, but even after reset the phone returned to the logo. It also doesn't connect to my pc. Please, what can I do, do I let it run out of battery? Is it gone now?
I'll let ChazzMatt answer this, as he is the expert. But I imagine he'll want to know which model number of V30 you have? Which ROM were you on? Is it rooted/BL unlocked? And how did you perform the update (OTA, LG Bridge, LGUP)?
Edit: Sorry, Chazz, I should have just waited, seeing you were right behind me

US998? There's 5 different workaround methods in the KDZ thread, in posts #2 and #6.
But a couple need unlocked Bootloader and TWRP. The others need you to manually go into Download mode. After THAT, your Dev Patched LGUP should recognize the phone. You should have read all this before attempting update.
IF you are on US988 firmware...
Fixed it, thanks
