Changelog:

I used HWOTA8 for it and it went successfull and then the phone turned off and after it got off my phone got stuck in black screen no matter what I do
When I connect my phone to the PC a sound of a USB being connected occur but no USB information and no ADB or fastboot access
A similar thing happened to me during my rebrand and update. Let me ask you, when you plug your phone into your computer and go to device manager, what do you see?

That's not good, whosoever. I used DC Pheonix to try and fix it. I'll try to save you some time and money, but unfortunately I believe your device is bricked like mine. Currently there isn't a fix for it either

Wow that is really bad I was actually considering DC Pheonix and Funky Huawei, but I guess thats a no too. The problem is it was a gifted phone so I don't know where its bought from, but I will try and guess and get it to some shops I expect and lets hope they would fix it on the warranty, if not I will try to fix it by buying a board at one of the shops. I hope you can get yours fixed by the warranty too.

I am suffering from the same, my phone bricked on 17th April and till now no solution. Its a 6 month old phone (from its launch) but there is no solution from Dc Phoenix to fix the phone in Huawei USB SER ( Huawei USB COM 1.0 ) called Factory mode to fix writing Board Software. They have Board Software but their tool is not updated to deal with Mate 10 Series. I have posted in Dc Phoenix to fix and update their tool. All of you are requested to post here too to force them for a solution.

Those details aren't in the first post of the link you posted (what update you were trying to flash and what rom you previously had on your device), I think you're mistaken. Regardless, your post is what actually led me here and I was able to pinpoint that something is horribly wrong with the 134 update. Every post from the last week regarding the 134 update has about their device being bricked after trying to flash the update.

I was trying to rebrand it and install B141 from the links above which seems to be broken
EDIT: sorry I thought you were asking me
I have found this driver that changed the "USB SER" from being "unknown device" or "other devices" to "Huawei USB COM 1.0" under "Ports (COM &LPT)"
https://doc-0o-74-docs.googleuserco...2595432&hash=fjttibiur8ah5d90gbkvm8oo6k1k40sk
I don't know if this actually helps, but at least it knows something about the device which make it seem better I guess
I'm in this boat too. Have the ALP-L29C636. Was running 132 and tried to update to 134. Explained further in MankindTW's thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76381422&postcount=859

I admit that there are no details of the version, i was on ALP-L29C636B132 and i used HOWTA8 to update with ALP-L29C636B134 and got USB SER. I might believe that there is some thing wrong in B134.

Agree with you, but there is no tool or service that can work with Mate 10 Series in this mode. I have bought 1 year subscription of DC Phoenix but i am unable to flash the Board software to my Mate 10

I would be interested in cross-flashing to a different firmware too since I ordered my Lumia 920 here in Germany and so it is very likely to come with that annoying EU imposed volume cap in place.
I would really love to put some non-EU firmware on my phone to get rid of that stupid cap ...
So any information about flashing to a different varian/firmware would be highly appreciated
thx

Thank you very much for this..
Im now considering buying a cyan sim free from best buy and importing it into the UK as it looks like it might be possible to get the device unlocked based on what I have seen posted elsewhere
Does it mean that I can buy t-mob and use it everywhere I need with wcdma or gsm?

You can't see the volume cap you can only hear it and to notice it you would need a non-capped device to compare their maximum volumes.
Unfortunately I'm still waiting for my Lumia 920 so I can't deff say if it's affected but for all the HTC Windows Mobile Phones I had so far the full volume setting wasn't nearly as loud with an EU based ROM as it was with a non-EU ROM.
As long as you only listen to "professionally recorded" / purchased music it's not a problem because with this even the EU-capped maximum volume is loud enough (unless you want to kill your ears of course).
But when you have non-professional live bootlegs from concerts you can't really listen to them with an EU-capped phone - at least not when you're in a noisy environment like out on the street.
Haven't figured out how i'm going to use it or get my lumia 920 unlocked yet but i'm seeing errors on 1232.2110.1244.3011 using EE firmware for white phone, DC_template_development_v4.bin causes a big .net exception
prd_signed.ffu dies at about 14% everytime you download with a webclient error, could be just nokia resetting the connection

DC_template_development_v4.binWhat is the product number you are using to download?
Is this file any good? Its from the Yellow UK firmware:DC_template_development_v4
Firmware download
Hi all
I have the White 920 EE UK variant on order with a delivery date of 8th to 14th November!
The only file I had trouble downloading was the DC_template_development_v4.bin file, which has been posted to this forum.
All the other files downloaded OK.
I noticed that this is the second version of the firmware for the variant that I have ordered, so perhaps this is why there has been some delays on shipping - because of a last minute software fix.
God bless

Hi below is quoted from another forum.
Download & install Nokia Care suite
Download DC_template_development_v4.bin and place in the "C:\ProgramData\Nokia\Packages\Products\rm-821" directory (or wherever your care suite set itself up for)
Install "WinUSB Drivers<architecture>.msi" from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Drivers" (assumes x64 PC)
Run Nokia Care suite then run Product Support Tools
Connect the phone and let it be detected
Boot the phone into testing mode
Open device manager & find all the unidentified devices (check by unplugging and re-conecting the phone) there were about 8 for me.
Right click on each one and update the driver manually, show all hardware and select "Nokia phone"
From Tools, Firmware Downloads search for "059R075" and download files
When downloaded open "RM821_059R075_1232.2110.1244.3_035.vpl" from the packages folder
Edit line 12 (<ProductCode>059R075</ProductCode>) with the code for the EE firmware (059R1W4) so the line reads: "<ProductCode>059R1W4</ProductCode>"
Turn the phone off and then on while holding the up arrow. You should get to the Nokia boot-loading screen (Nokia logo with a cog)
Then choose "programming, Recovery" from the product support tool
Choose the downloaded image & click Start.
If you get a warning about being unable to connect to the phone do what it says and unplug the phone & power it off (hold both volume buttons and power for 5 seconds) then plug it back in.
Keep your fingers crossed for 5 minutes...

I too (along with a work colleague) were pushed an OTA update this morning.
Here's what my software version page looks like now (in text form cause i'm a newbie and they don't allow links):
Android version
6.0.1
Android security patch level
2016-04-01
Baseband version
MPSS.TH.2.0.c1.4-00013-
M8996FAAAANAZM-2.44625.9
Kernel version
3.18.20
Build number
MMB29M
Software version
H82010h
Security software version
MDF v2.0 Release 2
I got it too. I guess I should not install it because they currently working on root.
Sent from my LG-H820 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Well it's too late for me I already installed it. I should've thought about root. Still haven't found release notes for the update. Maybe it's just minor stuff that was fixed?
From Reddit:
SMS enhancements
Bluetooth enhancements
Audio improvements when connected to auxiliary cable (is this the aux hiss fix?)
Alarm Clock update
Google Security Patches
Fix for camera issues with Snapchat and other 3rd party camera apps was not added before software submission. It will be included in the next update for this model.

Mine came pre-installed with this version. The Android security patch level has 03/01/2016 Build no MMB29M. So it's most likely on most G5's already.
Edit: I just noticed that my software version is H8210C so guess there's a new Ota so I checked the update but it says my software is up to date

I had the same issue so I went to the AT&T store and had them to replace the sim card. That solved the issue. I am now on the latest software version. I've had this issue on 3 different devices. Looks like AT&T would solve this problem without having to replace the sim card.

You're welcome you might want to call AT&T tech support tell them to notate your account that a sim card replacement is required to solve the issue so they don't charge you for a sim card just tell them it's not the first time you had to do this to get an ota.

Any root exploit for lg phones since the g3 has involved download mode, updating shouldn't affect your ability to gain root, if there is one thing lg can do its make an insecure download mode, thankfully for us, it will be our saving grace!

Hi Guys,
I'm living in Ireland. I heard that honor have started rolling out the update for the 5x to marshmallow. Some people seem to be able to get it through the hi-care app. When I check for an update using the app nothing shows up. On honor's twitter they say roll-out should take around 2 weeks to complete. Just wondering if anyone else hasn't received the update yet?
I don't mind waiting but as people in the uk can get the update right now I'm worried that the update may not be available in my country OTA.
Is there a way to manually flash the update etc.
Also how is it running for you in comparison to lolipop
P.S I have the KIW-L21 model
Thanks

I think u have the middle east version as my mobile and its not arrived marshmallow update yet
EDIT 2 : this update should theoretically work on all "Global Europe" devices and I don't think it will with Middle East KIW-L21 (didn't even know there was a specific version for it till a few days ago... ^^).

Do you mind me asking where you bought your phone? I got mine from amazon uk and I have a feeling its not a uk version the build number on mine is KIW-L21C185B140. Update is failing for me. Pretty sure its because of the region code.

Hey guys, I just updated my system to 8.0 and I hate it, I'd like use 7.1.1 again. I cannot find any stock roms. Can someone help me? The 2017.december one would be the greatest.
Hi,
download FlashTool for Xperia devices.
Install the program.
Go to C:/FlashTool/drivers a install drivers (during installation you will meet with list so chose flashmode and fastboot drivers).
Run FlashTool.
Click on Black icon with XF letters.
On the left side find Xperia X and correct model number.
On the right side click on "Check all" and all firmwares will be shown.
Click on "Latest firmware" column and it will be ordered from the newest to oldest.
Click on number ending .252
On the right side click on rectangle with the number of FW.
It will pop up window so click on Download.
Firmware after that is downloaded and converted to FTF.
You can flash it.
I can help if you still don't understand.

Thank you. I got it. I've done things like this before on my Xperia Z1 but it always end up bridging my phone and it took a long time to get it work. I wanted to ask which stock ROM should i pick? There's 4 .252 roms there with different location? is that important? Will i have any signal issues? And how could i update the rom without losing any data? Like when I updated to 8.0, is there anyway all that only the system changes? imgur.com/a/YPWMA

You can update through OTA if you don't wanna lose data.
Pick CE1. It doesn't matter. There might be a small difference but I guess only the little one.

For me some notification's stuck on 1, you know the small number on the top right of the icon. Settings are confusing, maybe a bit slower system, camera laggs a bit, while playing music on t he sony music app if ii start or pause music it starts vibrating or giving sounds if slient mode isnt turned on , even while changing track. awful
I must disagree.
Camera is faster so does the OS.
If you made clean install then there must be something wrong.
What's worse is battery life but the first version of newer Android always is with downsides which might be fixed in the future.

yeah but isnt this our last official firmware?
I don't get the question mark - rhetorical question?
Sony gotta release updated FW of Oreo. It's not working like last 7.1.1.
I'm sure about not getting 8.1 but ignoring their last FW for Xperia X would be a bad move.

Hi,
just to share my experience on the problem I faced while moving to stock ( I know these are my mistakes and anyone can do this so wanted to share just to save other new users)
I was on one of the custom ROM yesterday but due to lag in camera and slight other bugs (or say due to my requirement), I wanted to go back to stock. I had all the files, TWRP backup but as TWRP doesnt work on Android 8.1 for V10 (except BKL-L04), it was much complicated.
While flashing my stock system.img, I didnt realize that I am on magisk and patched_boot.img rather stock (that was my mistake) and just flashed my system.img and then factory reset in stock recovery. My phone booted fine but then no service for SIM cards, checked in about phone and found that I have lost my IMEI. (no other bugs). My bootloader is still unlocked but FRP lock (I did factory reset remember and I had the google account on earlier custom ROM which I did not delete)..
If you come across this situation, you can boot few times but this will remain the same and factory reset will not help. I was unable to flash TWRP to restore my stock backup (android 8.0, TWRP works on this, right) as my FRP was locked. Even enabled google account and factory reset all but no luck. Then, I made another mistake of relocking the bootloader. Once re-locked, It was in bootloop and only fastboot and erecovery was accessible.
I had no other option but to only download the full file in erecovery and boot. It will be a different file which we do not get on firmware finder, in my case, it was BKL-L09C432B160- FULL file. It took me 4 hours to download the 3GB full file (was in office and was unable to connect to office Wi-Fi, no hotspot issue on iOS12 beta, no 4GB SD card or data card which I normally carry with in bag so burrowed a data card and used my sim and downloaded the 3GB file in 4 hours). Once file was downloaded and flashed, all were fine with IMEI and everything stock.
Just wanted to share this experience so that any other noob or new user do not repeat this and get into all these trouble ( I knew that I will be able to revive anyhow as I am familiar with Huawei/honor phones but it may not be the case all the time with you- its just we need patience with this).
You can share your experience if you come across such so that it will be helpful for others.
I will create a guide as well to get back to stock ROM from custom ROM based on my experience (will skip the dload method as it is already covered and I have not tested that on EMUI 8 - have done it more than 100 times on EMUI 3,4,5) .
Thanks for reading.
I don't think you can download full package from erecovery for Indian model.. it gave me some kind of failure error whenever I tried to download

Im curious how u lost IMEI and FRP lock? I flash couple times system.img and then factory reset in stock recovery without issues. Google account doesnt lock FRP no different if u signed in account or not. It is related to OEM in Developer section. I never delete my account, (when I sell my View10 I also dont delete my account just make FR and another person sign in and have FRP unlocked). Sometimes after flashing/Factory reset switch OEM to disabled

I did flash system.img on magisk ramdisk that may be the issue here for imei lost or may be i was on b160 before RR but flashed b130 image, anything. When downloaded b160-full in erecovery, all fixed.

If firmware is not available then possibly the error. But this should have it and error may be due to anything else corrupted, just a thought

I never got updates on my Honor 5C in 2 years. Yesterday afetr trying for 12-14 hours of all trial, I was able to update to Nougat and 3-4 OTA updates together. It was tedious task.

No thats not true. As far as i seen, official twrp support Android 8.1 and that's for L04 only. But do support other devices with Android 8.
Openkirin ROMs does not support twrp. Which ROM are you trying
