Any updates on oreo for the unlocked us variant of the V30? Been checking here periodically but haven't seen anything. Ridiculous that we're coming up on 6 months with no release or update that I know of.
T-mobile just got theirs today.

Yes, it is ridiculous. Who would have thought that updating LG+carriers would be faster than updating LG.
One of the manufacturers stated not long ago that carriers only have to worry about the updates working on their specific network system. Manufacturers have to worry about their updates working on every single carrier that their unlocked phones are capable of supporting. In the US, that means Sprint, T-Mobile, ATT, and Verizon at a minimum.
Having said this, there has to be a way of simplifying this process. There has to be a way for manufacturers to push the software/operating system update at its basic component to users, and then have users update their carrier's specific network settings as needed. Heck, most of the necessary information should already be on the Micro SD card provided by the carriers already. Its the classical case of either party not caring enough to support their customers. The carriers, specially, have ZERO incentives to support customers that bring their own phones to the network.

Hi,
Please help me to unlock My LG V10. I already try using some 3rd party sites to unlock my phone but still they cannot calculate the unlock code for me. I just also wondering why my unit has engraved word to bottom right part saying "Not for Sale H960A Rev 1.0". I also contacted T-Mobile US to help me but they cannot perform the calculation of my unlock codes unless I subscribe to one of the Plans they offer. I don't know if this is a demo unit. I'm from the Philippines and I just really want to use my Phone to our Local Network Carrier.
I already don't know what to do now. Hope someone can really help me. Thank you.

impossible to unlock because the IMEI is not in T-mobile's database and can never be added to the database even if purchase one of their plans. IMEI must be in T-mobile's database for the unlock app to work.
Plus... H960A is the European model, not the T-Mobile one... (H901).
My wife's VS988 (verizon branded LG G6) has all the wifi calling features available but my US997 model does not and that pissed me off since I know that the phone has the capability. The service menu has a ton of wifi calling parameters and I can access the toggle via QuickShortcutMaker app. I contacted LG and here is their response:

TLDR- US997 wifi calling only works on T-Mobile. I'm not sold that it can't work on Verizon, more that LG just didn't do it for some business decision, partnership agreement or whatever. Anyone know of a workaround to get working with Verizon?
For the one month that I was a verizon customer, I had to enable something through verizon's website to get wifi calling on my Nexus 6p. Did you enable it from your verizon account?
Wifi calling even works on my t-mobile sim through straight talk, but no chance with the straight talk verizon sim.
It is HD calling that you enable via your Verizon account on their website. I have already enabled that.
Hello. I have an unlocked ATT version of S9 plus.
I flashed unlocked firmware to it but after reading so many pie thread, I'm beginning to question if I flashed the phone correctly.
Its been receiving OTA update regularly and its on ARL1.
I THINK I read somewhere in XDA that if you are on truly unlocked firmware, phone must read xaa/xaa/xaa. However, mine shows xaa/xaa/att? (currently on mintsim service which uses tmobile network I believe)
Can someone tell me if I did anything wrong as I have limited knowledge of android phones and I would like to correct it before pie update.
Thanks in advance.
You should be all good. The last one is showing the original software provider version that never changes from flashing carrier firmwares or unlocked firmwares. Basically it shows what the phone was born as I guess is a way you could look at it.
Bought mine directly from Samsung and mine also says that.

Getting a bit annoyed waiting for this phone to be upgraded since I just left the 2020 model (broken) for this one. 2020 has 11 but this is last on the list?
So make be feel better and tell me you've seen it.
This is ridiculous. Android 12 is coming next week.
Verizon seems to have the update. Letting anyone who cares know.
Strange that retail doesn't have it yet

I had discussions today with both Verizon and then Moto. What a runaround.
Verizon says that Moto releases the OTA. Moto says it is still waiting for vendor approval... It is a joke. And so is this phone tbh, not terribly happy.
For full disclosure, the phone is an unlocked model from BBY.
Mine is retail us from Amazon.
I do really like the phone but my own damned fault I didn't do the research for the Android version. Very disappointed in being the last phone in the rollout
I failed on my research as well, had been happy with older G phones in the past, and got sucked in by the price point. Oh well, hopefully there will be some development in this regard.
Hello everyone does anyone in this thread know if it's possible to unlock the bootloader on the At&t model? I know most devices from carriers are forever locked but I was just curious as I was interested in purchasing it but only if it could be unlocked.
Thanks in advance cheers!
I'd highly suggest getting a US network unlocked variant which will be compatible with AT&T and other networks and will qualify for the Motorola bootloader unlock program. Carrier exclusive models (Verizon, ATT, Boost) tend to come with permanently locked bootloaders. The only exception I've encountered are the Tmobile/Metro and Google Fi variants which do allow you to unlock.
I've been trying to root mine forever now it seems like. I downloaded KingRoot and when rooting it said follow us and gives me a QR code which I'm not sure what to do with

Root king will at best only give you temp root, meaning it will have to reroot after every reboot.
Thanks
