So I downloaded the updated firmware for my device (BLA-L29C636) in http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model and flashed it using the method in HuRUpdater. I flashed it using the latest TWRP for my device without any errors. I rebooted my device and it never opens after that. It is just dead. No response when charging. When plugged in PC, it just shows USB SER and I can't boot it to fastboot. Any idea how to revive my phone? Thank you in advance

What firmware did you flash? There "may" be hope for you
I flashed BLA-L29C636B138 (8.0.0.138) and got same issue. What hope is there?
Not solitions now..
Same here. Flashed BLA-L29C636B138 and got a dead phone. I had the mainboard changed at service center later
I updated earlier to 137 with success.

In my opinion, you did a mistake by updating to B137 again... most likely, if you update to B138, you will brick again.
It would have been better to update directly to B138, from whatever version you were on.

You should only try to update EMUI if you have stock recovery installed, no TWRP. Otherwise it will really fail. Download a full firmware for your phone, use Huawei Update Extractor to extract system.img, boot.img and recovery.img
Flash them using fastboot.
tried that without success

He clearly said in the first post that he purchased the phone used and it was already rooted.
He also tried to update the phone while it was rooted. Why not point him to the 5x file depot to fix his problem instead of tell him he broke the warranty ?

it worked i just bought an sd card and got the update in it and pressed volume up/down and power key and the update started
So recently, my phone went into bootloop for no reason. I was using stock firmware, no root or modifications of any sort.
I'm not able to access recovery mode, boot the phone(in safe mode as well). The only screen I was able to get to was download mode.
However, I don't want to flash custom firmware on it because that would make me lose my data.
Help of any kind to help me backup my files or fix the problem would be appreciated.
UPDATE: I was able to install TWRP onto the phone, but it freezes after the first of seconds of boot.
Is there any important data on the phone? If not, did u factory reset it?

It's the G925I - the international variant. I bought the phone in India and it was latest on nougat.
Should I restore the Marshamllow version instead?

Hey sorry for the late reply... I had to travel and bought the OP5 in a hurry.
Tried flashing the firmware you gave, but it had the same result - bootloop.
Any luck? Mine just did the same thing this morning. To be a little more clear, my ph-1 (USA, Sprint purchased) ran the battery out last night. When I plugged it in, it bootlooped. I entered boot loader and shut it down. Fast forward - charged all night, no difference. Bootloader is locked and there is no recovery (phone hasn't been modified at all, unless you count Holy Diver as a ring tone

Sorry for the late reply.
I gave it to a service center. They simply replaced the battery and it was working fine for a day. The next day the same things started happening again, and I sent it back to them.
The other day I woke up and saw the notification for an EMUI update so I proceeded to install it. It downloaded and installed correctly. However, when it rebooted, it booted into Huawei eRecovery. I tried to restore using WiFi with no success. I tried clearing my cache and doing a factory reset with no success either.
Can you guys help me? Thanks a lot.
Try factory reset again and wait till the phone boots up or runs out of battery, worked for me once.

Thanks for the reply. Before I try this I have a couple of questions. Doing this voids the warranty? Would I get notifications for new android/emui updates like before?
Ya your warranty is void .
You will definitely get emui updates in notification.
If you don't want that update simply ignore it

Sorry for answering so late, but I hadn't time to try this until now.
It didn't work, any more ideas?
A friend of mine gave me a rooted infinix X556 (Hot 4 Pro) to unroot for him
I actually had in mind to just flash it, knowing well that it'll take care of both the rooting and ROM issues.
But in the process checking the root, I got to know that TWRP Recovery was used for the rooting.
I later got it successfully unrooted, and I tried to get rid of the TWRP by flashing just only the Recovery, but it wasn't just going through.
My friend collected the phone and was using it, Having been wiped with TWRP.
But after some days later, he came back with the phone, as it can only boot to the TWRP (It was even showing in the TWRP that NO OS Installed). He got the phone into that situation by trying to use TWRP to do a factory reset.
So, when I later collected phone, The initial OS version that actually came with the phone was X556-H371A-N-170926V157.
But I successfully flashed X556-H371A1-M-160906V70 MT6737M, using flashtool 5.1640, After the flashing, the phone couldn't power on again, and that's where the bulk of the problem is now.
Now it seems the phone to have been bricked, Guys, Please, how can I succesfully unbrick it and bring it back to life?
Thanks in advance.

Really? But all of these were working before the flashing, and what actually baffled me is that the flashing I did on it went through and I'm just wondering what the problem could be.
So you mean there's no solution whatsoever to this?

Well, I thank God I didn't relent on my own effort by not giving up on the phone as you have already condemned it.

Wow That's some serious effort by you, but the situation you made, confirmed that your phone was hard bricked!
As far as my knowledge went I considered the following facts mentioned on Quora.com and confirmed that your device is HARD BRICKED!

What I only observed is that it's like the Infinix Flash Tool is a bit better than the normal SP Flash tool, because the same firmware I flashed, which made the phone dead, was the same one I flashed on Infinix flash tool, which later made it work.
All the same. I appreciate your efforts.

Well u really try hard to fix it bro well done. But what firmware version and tool version u used to unbricked the device i have same phone and same problem. Thanks
My Device was on firmware version RMX2202_11.C.15 GDPR, it wasnt the latest one and software update wasn't pushing the latest ota package for my device which is RMX2202_11.C.25 GDPR.
So, i decided to rollback to RUI2.0 and update again and that might solve the problem. i unlocked my bootloader, booted on twrp, flashed rollback "RMX2202_11.A.17 GDPR" package, wipe data, boot into system.
All good till now, software update pushed me 700MB ota package, i download and installed it. Device asks for reboot i rebooted my device , device went off. DEAD no sign of life. only EDL MODE.
no recovery, no bootloader, no vibrate , no bootloop , completely DEAD. Then i took it to realme service center, they tried to flash my device , they got some error they returned my phone and said we cant repair because your device is rejecting firmware.
i attached the msm tool error. (WCSM communication failed (WCSM code: 4009 SW version of this package is not found in WCSM.)
PLEASE HELP ME!
