Hi frnds. I am new here and need urgent help for my phone. Actually, the problem is my phone ( karbonn mach 5) is automatically restarting whenever I open any application like fb, whatsapp, etc. I think that, my habit of playing heavy games on it even when the battery was near 5-10% is the reason for this problem. Nowadays, when I open any small game, the phone restarts within 2 min. Actually, phone doesn't restarts. It shuts down and then restarts but, when the main home screen comes, it automatically shuts down and again same problem when main home screen appears. The process continues for 3 times then, phone turns off and doesn't opens up till I plug in charger and open it. I can use phone while charging easily and I can use any app. But, when the charger is plugged out, again same restart problem. Simply, my phone is dead now without charging so, I am using it keeping charger plugged in always but this is too insane. Note that the only thing i can do without charger plugged in is listen songs and watch vedios till the battery is upto 60%. After 60%, phone turns off. So, according to my thinking, the main problem is my battery. I need the favor from u my friends. Please tell wheather it is a software problem or really it the battery. Can I solve the problem if I replace old battery with new one???? Please help me gys and answer as soon as possible.

hello...i hope that someone can help me....when i try to turn off the device,it shut down and after few seconds reboot?why?
also simetime the phone don't turn on and on screen i see a green battery with a thermo....someon can help me?
Did you find the answer to this? i am sending my SGS2 back for replacement. i have the same errors plus the following.
Phone selects speaker rather than earpiece as default for incoming/outgoing calls
Phone on ocasions randomly starts Kies and Voice commands even if there is no physical contact with the phone
sometimes the phone defaults back to a launcher i have never seen before (it is not touchwiz) and i have no idea how to launch it without it doing it automatically.
The faults you mentioned can be bypassed with a battery pull but they are annoying, I didn't have these problems until i upgraded my firmware through Kies to KE7.
I have an O2 branded device.

same issues to me... I'm trying to fix it flashing a stock rom without good results yet In the meantime I'm waiting for a USB jig from ebay before to send it to technical service
I have a I9100M(BELL) flashed with cognition 1.32 with same problem.
Randomly my phone will:
-go into driving mode
-answer calls in speaker phone mode
-start alarm clock
-think its charging when the cable is not plugged in
-Reboot it self/turn it self on when its off
-wont connect to computer or charge even when cable is plugged in.
I need to send it in for repairs what should i flash? there is no bell branded firmwares or roms.

Absolutely same here, since coming from CM7 to VillainRom.
Never had that before.
I´m waiting and watching it and your results!

This has nothing to do with root access.
I cannot believe that any problem related just because you have access to your system.
Back to topic, flashed back to cm but problem persists.
It's getting really bad near to flashing stock and bring it back to change device if someone knows what it is could be helpful.
I also have this problem. I think it has something to do with the usb port.
Because sometimes it just scans for media, or it thinks it is charging. Really weird! Then i just put in the charger and it stops for a while. Turning off will just reboot the device. And removing battery and plugging it back it also just reboots the phone.
I hope it is not hardware related...
I was looking for help for a problem I have but this seems to cover most of the problems I'm having.
Mine has recently started going into a strange mode after shutting it down. I get the battery charging symbol alternating with the "battery overheating" symbol.
The only way to stop it is to remove the battery for at least a couple of hours (if you put it straight back in it automaticly starts up and goes back to flashing the battery warnings) or pressing Power, Vol+ and Home and choosing Reboot.
I have also noticed its very slow to respond to plugging the charger in or out. It doesn't always wake-up and bleep when the charger is put in and it stays showing its charging for some time after the charger has been removed.
I was told that the charger should be removed as soon as charging is compleated but surely overnight is the only time we have available to charge these phones!
Depending on the custom rom or kernel you are using, it might not support off mode charging.
To avoid having a "problem" with charging the phone in off mode, some developers decided to make the phone boot up when the phone is been charged when the phone is off.
Going back to an official stock ROM fixes this problem.

As for Cyanogen, since built 23, you can charge the phone when it is in the "off" state. Please wipe out your userdata partition before flashing. Do not restore from a previous backup.
I fixed my reboot problem (rebooting instead of turning off) by letting the battery drain all the way so it couldn't boot anymore. Tried turning it on to see if it really doesn't go on anymore. After that I plugged in the charger and I got the charging-symbol and it did not turn on so I kept it charging overnight while turned off and in the morning it was finished and turned it on.
I also cleaned the usb-port on the phone with a toothpick. It had alot of dust stuck in it which I couldn't see. After that no more problems...for now. They haven't returned for 2 days now.

What kernel and rom are you using? I have not seen the battery overheating symbol on the sgs2.
No, there is no need to remove the phone from charger, when the phone gets to what is considered full, the battery will stop charging by itself.
Are you using the original samsung charger that came with the phone, or are you using a after market charger? Most of these USB chargers do not send a signal on the data lines. When using these chargers, the phone becomes laggy and unresponsive, there is also a delay to register anything on the touch screen. Stay away from these chargers.
For lithium batteries just charge it whenever you feel like it. Lithium batteries have a few thousand deep charge cycles, meaning if you use up all the power, then charge it,you use 1 deep charge cycle. However, if you use the micro cycles for charging, you can charge the batteries a few million times. Leaving the battery on empty for too long will damage the lithium battery.
Can any one confirm if this is a hardware or software issue as i now have the problem when i try and switch the phone off it will just reboot?
The Same issue occurs in my sgs2
hi everybody,
i just got my sgs2 ten days ago
everything seems good at first
then i realized screen standby lock lag problem, there exist a lag between 1 second to 2.5 seconds.
i ignore that due to it cannot be named as a problem, it seems like a bad characteristic
then yesterday , i have faced with another problem
after i have docked the phone to the original vehicle dock kit,
phone cannot be closed via power button , i hold it 1.5 seconds then chose turn off among list, phone looks like to be turned off then after a little while it just vibrates and reboots. That is phone cannot be turned off, it s somehow turn itself on again.
Whats the reason of this problem ?
In another forum one faced with the same problem said that it turned out to be normal when the battery is erased but the problem is occured again after docking.
micro usb connector
I droped my phone in the water, got it alive again, but with all the error(overheat battery symbol, no stable usb connection, reboot when i power off, 100% charged not going away) replaced the micro usb connector with a new one.
Some problems are gone but i still can't connect to pc (kies, debug etc), poweroff problem still happen sometime.
Conclusion: It is not only the usb part of the phone that are causing this problem.
But I do belive its a hardware problem.
Have you phone maybe got to much to drink too..
usb port???
I've recently been experiencing the same problem
When I turned off my phone it switched on again!
And removing battery and plugging it back it also just reboots the phone.
Sometimes the USB connector and charger are confused
Do solved the problem by changing the USB port?
plz help me
Thank you in advance for helping me
This is definately a hardware issue. Clean the usb connector, failing that it will need replacing

I'm in dire need of some help. My phone is a stock unit that has had no modifications to it at all. It started shutting off randomly a week or two ago, usually when I would use GPS, bluetooth, or the internet but it does happen when everything is turned off (GPS, bluetooth, and wifi) When I turn the phone back on, the battery would be totally drained displaying to a critical level. This would cause the phone to shut back off. I can repeatedly turn the phone back on, and usually one of the times the battery will be displayed with more charge and allow me to use it, but if I did anything other than make a call the phone would shut back off. This problem does not occur if the phone is plugged in and charging (never shuts off randomly and the battery does not drain). I have already tried factory resetting the phone multiple times and that hasn't seemed to help. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried a new battery? Sounds like your battery is on its last leg. It could also be battery contacts on your phone, make sure they are clean and actually touching the battery when you insert it.

I second this, I had the same issue a couple years ago with my g1, a new battery made it run like new again.

what ROM are you using? are you overclocked? I had similar problem with some roms overclocked, my phone would shut down, restart, battery drain was horrible!! during calls would be the most annoying it would turn off and was walking have a conversation with the plastic by my ear .after some research and testing the problem was my overclocking was unstable at 1.2 + running on 1ghz after a while the problem went away
Your phone will restart or shutdowns randomly..if
1.You overclocked GPU or CPU to high performance.
2.You flashed any unwanted zip files for performance or somewhat.
3.You make the phone very heat[Main Reason].
Instructions:
1.Avoid playing high end games for long time(Like me).
2.Avoid playing high end or medium games above 20mins. while charging.
3.Don't allow your phone to heat.(Due to temperature).
4.Try Re-flashing your current Rom(if you installed custom rom).
5.Try flashing your phone.
6.Check your phone completely for viruses with a better antivirus.
7.If the problem is after installing some apps..Try uninstalling that.
Thats all i Know!
happened to me before more than once I agree that you should get a new battery but if you have to wait in the meantime, what I did was:
1. pull the battery out let the phone cool down
2. I put it back in and turned it on
3. If it turns on okay drain the battery till it shuts off by playing music
3. repeat 1 and 2 and if it turns on okay again repeat step 3
4. if not then let it stay off and charge it to maximum and it should be useable
I did this because I assumed that the phone for some reason wasn't reading the battery levels properly so I made sure that the battery was fully drained then charged it to max to fix that. It worked for me but its just to make the phone useable as I still needed a new battery. It drained very quickly and I had to be charging even 3-4 times a day on heavy use but if I only made phone calls and texts it got me through one day.
i have xperia sola i am facing reboot issue in it. cell phone restarts randomly. but more oftentimes when the battery is 60 to 50 percent and also when my battery is in 35 to 20 percent can someone tell me is it battery problem or software problem or any hardware problem? i have falshed many roms but no one solve the problem
If you had this problem before and after flashing, it will be hardware problem then i think.
Sent from my XGO using fingers
Try this:
Install stock firmware, firmware reset, press power button and volume up button (it will vibrate once, you keep pressing and then it will vibrate 3 times and reboot). When it reboots, install Battery Calibration from market, fully charge it and when it says 100% open the application and calibrate it. Then stop charging the phone, let it run without charging it at all, until battery goes dead on its own. Don't charge it for any second at all. Then you can start seeing if its the battery or something else.
Also, please don't install any apps you have for the testing to see if it's some faulty application eating all your battery, or use better battery stats to check for wakelocks but i suggest you do that AFTER you see if it's a battery fault or not.
Switch to 2G mode also, don't use 3G for the testing.
What's your brightness level set to?
What kind of use do you do every day?
I did these things after my battery getting dead in less than 15 hours after 2-3 flashed roms and well it just died now after 1 day and 20-21 hours.
Used it for 2-3 hours in total calls, some wifi use of installing apps, email and small stuff like that, that i often do.
It was always on 2G while i was doing all that, data enabled always even on screen off and syncing on as well.
Normally i switch to 3G when i "need" it or leave it all day long when i know i will charge it when i go to sleep, and use it more than that. It can last alright for a day even then, with heavy use which i think is alright with the ****ty battery technology we still use nowadays.
I don't know if it's battery or software related but if you follow my instructions you can check both.
Personally i believe it's some app causing that havoc.
main problem
my problem is not battery draining i am facing reboot issue. now i have flashed a brand new stock Rom and then unplug the cable when it is at 100% when battery comes to 98% it freezes for 3 to 5 seconds and then it reboot automatically but sometimes it just freezes and shut down

there is lots of app that can do this like

The thing is folks, if the temp indeed is getting high. Usually the CPU will start throttling back at around 70c. At about 80 or 85c, it will most likely shut down. This CPU overheat could be caused by corrupt OS. Might try flashing an Ftf file with Flashtool.
Now, the question is, do you indeed feel the tab as being "Hot" in certain places? Because you can definitely feel an 85c CPU! And if it's a bad or ill battery, this can also overheat when being charged. As suggested above, check the battery health.
Tab is not hot at all....
Tried various firmwares and still happens
Once tab shuts down it will remain unreponsive although usb or magnatic charing cable is connected
But charging will not start ....
Unless tab is rebooted
Up on reboot temp are all normal.......
But sometimes i have felt magnetic cable tablet end is a bit warm
But at that time chaging is all normal......
All these episodes happened with wall charger
I can not remrmber similar incident with car charger....
I never got such a msg from the tablet. I would rma it, the sooner the better.
Truth be told, while my z1 phones does get hot while gaming, the tablet ner does. Wierd but i guess the motherboard is bigger hence thermals have more romm to spread and dissipate. Who knows.

Hi folks,
I was experiencing similar issues with my tablet, and upon installing the battery app as suggested, i found out that it was overheating (?!)
Can somebody tell me why is it overheating? is there something wrong with the battery? it stays on for couple of minutes and it shuts down with a message "high temperature, shutting down" . My tablet is not plugged in or charging, even when it is plugged in it in it won't charge.
I'm really worried about it catching fire, hope you guys can help me out here
Thanks!
Just got my tablet back from warranty but the problem still occur especially during playing game, it shut down automatically when I played not more than 10 minutes..will it be fixed when update to lollipop?
My Z2 Tablet shut down automatically when I use it for 15 min, but I have a new battery installed and the problem is still here. So it can´t be a problem with the battery.
I have no idea if there is a temp sensor or someting else is brocken.
Hello dear tech enthusiasts,
I'm having very weird issues with my LG G8X ThinQ. It started when I connected the phone to a car for AA, the phone shut down. When powering on again, the screen would flicker very slightly, barely noticable. and then shut down again. This would persist for a couple of minutes untill I noticed the screen didn't flicker anymore and the phone would resume operation. I also noticed the phone being very hot.
It also started happening when charging the phone wireless. Not during charge, but when starting or ending the charge. Also with regular wall charge, or any car model charge. Recently, the phone started showing these symptons out of the ordinary, wtihout any charge happening. Symptons are usually the same, high temps and flickering screen when rebooting. The phone did not slow down in perfomance noticeably.
I really love this phone, powerfull, nice battery, good screen. I really do not want discard it over something weird. I tried sending it in for repair twice but those companies are clueless and I got it back (after several weeks) with "there's nothing wrong".
Looking for help or advice on how to adress this problem.
Thanks in advance!
M
