I've just dropped my RN4 and the screen stopped to work (black screen with no backlight) but I could tell that the touch was working well as I've managed to pick up a call. I wanted to remove the SIM card from the tray so I turned the device off by pressing power button for approx. 15s. Then I wanted to back my data up and boot the device to transfer data to the PC however I was unable to - when I've tried to press the power button to turn it on, device vibrated once and is doing so repeatedly from then on (the cycle is: vibration - 10 s pause - vibration-.... you get it). After plugging it into PC it is discovered as unknown device only. Is it matter of broken screen only or some more serious problem?

All of a sudden, after turning my phone off today and tried to turn it on again, my HTC S740 does not load Windows mobile at all. All it shows is a screen with the red, green, blue, and white colors on it, with the following notes:
ROSE100
SPL-1.54.0000
MicroP-Rose (LED) v10
MicroP-Rose (KEY) v5
PCSID 0x00
RID 0x00
and that's it, I tried removing the battery, tried removing the microSD car, also tried connecting the phone to my notebook with a mini USB cable and the result is always the same - the screen with the shiny colors and the text I which typed above. I have never tried to upgrade my phone's OS or something similar. All that happened just after turning my phone off. PLEASE HELP! What should I do?
Have you tried Hard Reset?Hold the midle-Butten in the Cursor+Volume Down and the a short push on the Power-Button.......to Reset the Phone push the Volume Up-Button....to Cancel Press any other Key......WM will reinstall.....the first boot takes a few minutes.....Wait......Phone will Reboot after its finished.......and if you have probs take the SIM and the SD out....sometimes that helps me.....
Hi,
What do you mean by "midle-Butten in the Cursor", you mean the middle button of the joystick which is under the display inside the circle which is used to scroll sides? If so I tried doing this.. it doesnt help though
think I got it.. however after the hard reset the same screen appears
Put the phone into boot loader mode (sorry I don't know how that works) and then connect it to your pc and flash your stock ROM.
How to enter Bootloader Mode (Tri-Colour)
- Turn off your HTC S740/S743 (either by removing battery or turning off)
- Hold down the VOLUME UP button (keep it held down)
- Turn on the phone using normal POWER button (no need to hold the power button...just a normal push and release)
- Phone will enter Tri-Colour/Bootloader Mode
something many forget with this fault, and I have seen quite a few is it is often not a rom issue but a hardware problem... in this case it may be a faulty up volume button, or maybe the plastic cap has shifted keeping the button held down, does the button still click ok?
The monet was a swine for the camera button giving up the ghost and doing nothing but dropping to boot loader......
I'm having a really strange issue with my gear fit:
1. Screen is black
2. Screen responds to touch(!) - I unpair the device and pair it again, when i press the left(top) part of the screen (confirmation button) it stops vibrating...
3. I am able to turn it off and on but the screen is still black (Samsung logo does not appear)
4. Bluetooth works fine
5. Kies3 also recognizes the device
6. It happened randomly a few times - the screen turned on and was responsive to touch but when i try to do anything it freezes and goes black again. I noticed that I can even change the wallpaper and clock through the Gear Fit Manager. I thought that it could be just the screen issue but I've never dropped it and as I mentioned - it responds to touch.
This problem appeared out of nowhere - I've left the watch (turned off) for a month on my desk, the battery was at 40% today, tried to turn it on and...
Due to the screen failure I cannot put it in the download/recovery mode. Is there a way to do it with screen off?
I know it's stating the obvious but have you done a full reset on it? (Hold the button down, a good 8 seconds, until it forces it to reboot)

Click to collapse
Just my 2 cents,I had to hold it down more like 20 seconds, way more than seems logical.
From my Galaxy Note 2
Has there been an answer to this because I've been having the same issue with mine for about 4 months. As stated before, it turns on but screen stays blank but I know it's working because it vibrates after I turn it on. Mine is a international one.
possibly a screen defekt? was the same thing with my when i rip it apart
My phone keeps waking the screen when it is being charged (the screen timeouts and turns off before being turned back on again after a few seconds, showing the lock screen), even after i switch back to the standard USB charging cable (charging directly to the microusb port). I have checked developer options and keep screen awake when charging is not ticked so that's not the problem. Turning off screen using power button brings up lockscreen.
Additionally, my phone is not able to be switched off. When i switch off, it will enter into a sort of bootloop where the phone will spontaneously turn itself on showing 'Sony' screen > black screen and it repeats this cycle. The phone can however be turned back on during this bootloop if i press and hold the power button while the screen is black.
Guys help me please
I think that your phone's power button is faulty, maybe stucked or something so I kept being pressed
No never
Moto X Style not rooted
I have show touches on so I can see that the screen recognises the input but the phone won't correspond with what I'm telling it to do. Even when using a mouse via USB debugging.
Every time upon restart, it works properly for a minute or so, then the navbar & statusbar dissapear, screen fades to black and locks. When I press the power button, it shows the lock screen but won't let me press anything. Apart from the Power Off pop up when it appears. I also can still interact with the always on display.
If I boot it in safe mode, the issue doesn't occur and I can interact the screen indefinitely.
I've not installed any new apps recently but this just started happening about a day ago.
Any ideas of what's wrong/how to fix it?
Samsung Galaxy S9+ No custom, Just a normal phone from T carrier.
The situation is as follow. I wake up everyday and cannot turn on my phone, the screen is black but I hear it beeping when i press the volume keys. I do a Vol down Power to restart thinking it will , it restarts but the screen is black and unresponsive no matter what I do, the Power button is still functional at this moment.
What I quickly did is I connected the phone to my monitor using USB-C and i have a mouse connected to the internal KVM of the monitor- , perfect got excited that the phone at least works, on the monitor it shows up perfectly, I can control the phone with the mouse, enter my 4 digit password, works. That was the situation yesterday. Should have backed up then but didnt.
Today I wake up, the Power button does not work, so I read and find out that I can go downlead mode which I did using the Vol down and Bixby and plugging the charger.
tried the Vol Down and Power to restart it does not, so again I go in to the download mode and accidently press Volume up, Now I am completely stuck on Downloading... Do not turn off target
1. Power button does not work- I have no idea how to get the past Downloading screen now
2. Would I be able to recover anything it its really dead?
3. Any tips?
