How come SM-G9650/DS come with Exynos? isn't it a Snapdragon variant?
But if you were asking how to change the region of Samsung Pay to a 100% Exynos country then I join the club. Looking for answers too. My CSC is G9650TGY2ARC6 and I am looking for a way to use Samsung Pay with international cards.
I join the club too... I'm going to buy a S9+ of a different country than mine (same hardware, of course) but I want to keep using Samsung Pay... it's simply absurd that their service is firmware-dependent !!!
Looking for answers as well. I have S9+ Dual from Philippines but there's no SPay yet there so I need to see if it can enable SPay in the US using T-mobile Sim.

I saw in Bell store , they sell the galaxy S6 Edge with contract but you can buy it without contract in regular price.
my question is if i buy the phone there its sim free and can i use it in other country?
and the second question is what is the version there? i need the international version (SM-G925F) i think because i am from europe
and if not where can i buy there the international version?

You should be able to purchase it and use it in another country. However, the Canadian variant is a special variant based on the T-Mobile version. The Canadian version may not support all LTE bands with your carrier so you may want to research that. Also, I'm assuming there is the Regional SIM-Lock built in for first activation. After that you'd have to get an unlock code from any online vendor (around $15) and enter it.
Canadian Model : SM-G925W8
T-Mobile: SM-G925T
If you're from EU, you're probably better off buying the 925F factory unlocked from there itself if it supports the bands. The kernels for 925F and 925T/W8 are not interchangeable so you'd be waiting for TMO/W8 development if you're into flashing custom roms/kernels.

At a store in Canada, most likely not. You'd have to look at online stores (Amazon, E-bay, Expansys). NCIX Canada is selling unlocked S6(E) but it doesn't state what model it is, and it is marked up severely. Considering you're already in EU, it's probably easier for you to import one from a neighbouring country that is selling them or buy one at a store nearby.

W8 version supports all worldwide LTE bands except for a few bands in some asian markets. I took my Rogers W8 Edge to Morocco, spain, portugal, poland and germany just a few weeks ago and had LTE in all those countries

Last Galaxy was S6, jumped ship to iPhone 7S to please the wife, was ecstatic to go back to S9 via T-Mobile aka "Uncarrier".
I was more excited to finally go back to XDA to check the dev scene, but no love for the Snapdragon Varient? I know International aka 960/5F got the unlocked bootloader and usual Day 1 roots.... but does anybody know why the Snapdragon scene isn't active at all?
My T-Mobile S6 Edge was a breeze to root and so many amazing ROMS and Cross-Device Dev too. And that wasn't Exynos either.
Point is, I'm sure I'm not the only one and you guys arent alone out there. I'd love to see how people are enjoying their device, any dis/advantages to our international sibling, and also any tricks they're using to "poweruse" their device.

For the record, all S6 models were Exynos. There were no snapdragon versions.

If there were any Snapdragon versions they were not in North America. The US carriers were all Exynos. I had the Verizon version and it was most definitely Exynos. They did not want to use the 810 so I am pretty sure there were no Snapdragons anywhere for the S6.

Actually you are correct was for some reason thinking S7 lol , cause S6 , S6 Plus and Note 5 were the phones that only have Exynos so my bad

Put simply, it's because Samsung has made the S9/S9+ SD variant EXTREMELY tamper-resistant. Old methods to achieve root that worked on, say, the S7 or S8 no longer work.
As far as I know, there's only 1 dev working at it. For now, one can only be patient and see what happens.
Other than that though, it's a solid phone that I am enjoying right out of the box. And for now, there's a working hotspot mod, so that's nice as well.
Root on g9650 Hong Kong version can be achieved (see https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...comm-sm-g9650-hong-kong-china-t3764542/page27). I think nowaday there is no way to unlock bootloader of the us variant.

That's typical though, I'd be surprised if Sammy left an old exploit open in a new flagship from an old one
I wouldn't put it past em though, the latest exploits have been pretty easy lol
It's worth noting that the SM-G9600 and SM-G9650 (the non-us unlockable Snapdragon variant s9/s9+ work perfectly on both CDMA and GSM networks in the USA, making it at last a real option for Americans
i'd be happy with the ability to do carrier switching like on the s8/s8+ and note 8

I have a dual-sim SM-G9650 (Hong Kong version) and was unable to get it to connect to CDMA in the US. Worked fine for GSM/WCDMA/LTE, but couldn't connect to ANYTHING with a Page Plus/Verizon sim. Tried Hong Kong rom and also Panama rom, and couldn't do it.
Do you have any reports of someone getting a verizon sim working in this model?

Did you ever get it to work on Verizon LTE at least? I see it supports the Verizon LTE bands. I want to get this for the dual SIM. Personal phone is TMO and company is Verizon.
Hey, so I bought from Amazon.ca on the official Samsung page a Samsung Galaxy S9 plus SM-G965F. I just learn that Samsung pay is country bases and that I cannot install the Canadians version of Samsung pay on my phone since it's a international version. The problem is that I'm unable to add my debit card but I can add my credit card. I really want to use Samsung pay for all my transaction but I have this region lock problem. Is there a way for me to flash the Canadians version of the s9 plus without tripping KNOX.

Same thing can't add depit card.
I lived in the US, bought a Samsung Galaxy S9+ (G965F, the international version) from online, and am very happy with it.
Everything works great except for just 1 app, Samsung Pay. The phone has a United Arab Emirate CSC, so I'm stuck with the UAE version of Samsung Pay. The UAE Samsung Pay doesn't accept American Express credit card, which I mainly use a lot.
Because the UAE Samsung Pay doesn't accept American Express, I'm trying to figure a way to get a US or EU version of Samsung Pay to work on Samsung Galaxy S9+ phone with a UAE CSC.
I already flashed the phone with an Australia S9+ stock rom along with the CSC, but I'm still stuck with the UAE Samsung Pay.
Did you ever find a solution here?
Does US S21 or its variant have esim?
Haven't seen any info on any sites unlike S20 and Note20 where there was mention.

Don't have a definitive answer but it's not likely. Carrier Branded devices are firmly opposed to giving their customers alternative network options. That's the same reason all US devices are single sim.

More than likely it will be supported only on the unlocked version bought directly from Samsung. If you get a carrier version, the device would have to be carrier unlocked to enable eSIM. My AT&T S20 Ultra, flashed with the U1 software, enabled me to have eSIM functionality. I'm assuming it will be the same with the S21.

Wait, your S20 ultra Snapdragon US version supports eSIM and you can actually use it on AT&T? I thought that was only possible on the Fold2 ?

Their website says it is supported under FAQ. These "product experts" just guess and don't always know the true answer to technical questions. Previously they said it was supported, so I would assume this time it must be supported if they are denying it

S20 range has esim support - so it would make sense that s21 has it too - is not like it cost them more
the Q is whether or not your carrier supports it and most likely NO
at least here in UK no major career supports it yet or plans too

I spoke to Samsung on the phone yesterday about this. I ordered the S21U 512gb (brown) unlocked version and they said it’s esim + nano sim. For what it’s worth, it took three different people to get an answer on that and I’m not even convinced they knew for sure.
I don’t understand why Samsung is being weird about the specs...

I was just told yesterday by their Twitter team that the phone doesn't have DSDS but you can activate either the eSIM or nano SIM with only one activated at a time. The phone support team (E-commerce) told me very clearly that it IS dual-SIM DSDS. This is becoming more confusing as time goes on.
Sorry for off-topic, but, if supported, does eSIM consume more battery than nano SIM? Does eSIM have any impact on battery?

How did this harm you or impact you financially? Because without that, you don't have any basis for a class action suit. ****ty of Samsung to do, but that has nothing to do with the law.
Just got my S21 Ultra. UK, 512GB model, and it's dual sim, but doesn't seem to support eSim as well. I'm happy with dual sim
