Can i flash treble twrp via official twrp app (select img file, twrp update)?
Will magisk and other root app work same as before ?
How to uninstall treble? (revert back to stock condition)
Ye u can flash treble twrp from normal twrp.
You will have to find the magisk treble and flash it.It will work normally, no issues from me.
You don't unistall treble just the twrp, wipe vendor before doing so if u want to install normal roms again.(unless you mean the A/B partitioning and treble)

Ok so I want to flash Miui PRO but I'm on a treble twrp.

If you are using akabhishek's treble TWRP, it also support standard ROMs, so you shouldn't need to change TWRP. I think you just need to wipe data, etc., and the vendor partition, and then flash your miui ROM. But you might also need to flash lazyflasher after flashing the miui ROM, otherwise, miui may not boot.
I heard that I can't flash Miui based roms using the treble twrp..
I currently have TWRP installed and want to install Treble Twrp. I have installed the treble image through adb and looks good until i reboot and it is still my old Twrp. I am obviously missing something and would be grateful for any info to correct the problem.

Copy treble twrp to phone memory.
In TWRP pres install img, link to treble twrp and restart recovery.
just tried installing magisk on oreo, and twrp cannot mount /vendor.
I suspect it's a twrp rather than magisk.
are there any other newer recoveries I can try?
IIRC the Magisk app can modify a boot image for a different device, so you could use Magisk on your phone to modify the Shield TV boot.img and then flash it with fastboot. Also, last time I checked there was a Magisk 16.4 beta for Oreo.

Hello. I have an unlocked G8342, and I'm trying installing phh's GSI. But after I flashed the system image, I cannot boot my phone. It just shows "SONY" and then rebooted automatically.
I tried flashing the SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_9.0_2.3.2_v5_yoshino.img or SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_8.1.6.4_r1_v16_yoshino.img.
Before I unlock my phone, I've upgraded to the official Pie release. But what I'm installing is Oreo. Does this matter? Or what should I do in order to make it work?

if u dont backup ur TA partition before unlocking your bootloader, camera will not work on oreo gsi roms. I recommend u can try pie gsi roms, but it has worse camera quality and stability issues..

I just cannot even boot the GSI ROM. The camera might have issues, but it's not important right now...

what gsi rom are you trying to flash? Do you have TWRP installed? I have a SOV36 (Japan AU version) and it boots with most of all gsi's. Currently using omni rom.
Here is my steps for flashing.
1. boot into twrp
2. goto wipe and factory reset (don't wipe data, system or cache just factory reset)
3. flash img
3a. optional: goto wipe; repair and resize system (if you want gapps)
4. flash gapps
5. flash magisk if you want root
6. reboot
Hope this helps

I have tried the Phh's latest 9.0 GSI and RR's GSI and ERFAN's Q GSI and the official q GSI from Google.
None of them work, all stuck on the Sony boot logo

latest RR gsi did not work for me either but roms like omni, bootleggers, lineage 16 all booted on my SOV 36
Flash the lastest pie ftf, then follow sinkoo1979, instructions, also be sure you only flash ARM64-A versions.. I know Omni, Bliss and bootleggers work with imo bootleggers was the nicest but the unofficial one here has ceased development.. Use open camera for your pics...
The Roms are a hit or miss...make and keep a twrp backup handy...
Hi,this is my first time installing a custom rom and recovery and rooting and all.
I am on MIUI 10 8.11.22 beta on RN3 2gb.
And have unlocked bootloader using official method.
Currently following
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/unlock-bootloader-twrp-root-7-2-3-t3359492
Planning to
flash official twrp-3.3.1-0-kenzo
Install Havoc 9.0 OS https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-havoc-os-t3845305
Install Magisk
but twrp site is showing
This device uses dm-verity!
This means that swiping to allow system modifications will prevent you from being able to boot if you are using the stock kernel. In order to bypass dm-verity's boot prevention, you will have to install a kernel that has dm-verity disabled in the fstab.

I think it is about boot.img but I do not have patched boot.img of my miui version and also (from above guide) to patch boot.img i need fastboot rom but linkhttps://en.miui.com/a-234.html only takes me to Chinese miui website.
Can any one share link to boot.img of fastboot rom for MIUI 10 8.11.22 beta?
And in Havoc OS post
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-havoc-os-t3845305
do I need custom kernel for 9.0?
In Magisk Post
Prerequisite
If you plan to install custom kernels, flash the zip AFTER installing Magisk
Make sure to remove any ‘boot image mods’ such as other root solutions. The easiest way is to restore the boot image from factory images, or reflash a non-prerooted custom ROM

does that mean i do not need to flash boot.img or do i need to flash it afterwards?
Qustions
1) Do I need boot.img file of my version or any will do?
2)Do I need custom kernel for havoc os 9.0?
3) how to proceed after flashing twrp(need help)?
here what i think i have to do after flasing twrp(correct me If i am wrong)
(do not flash boot .img as installing magisk) -> flash havoc os -> flash magisk->flash custom kernel(which one?)-> (flash boot.img) ->reboot

If u official unlocked using miunlock tool then u dont need any patched boot.img.
Flash latest twrp 3.3.1 kenzo
Download ur favourite rom and nano gapps zip to external sd card.
First go to wipe and do format data.
You must do it or rom wont boot.
So click Format data
Type Yes to format
This will decrypt and erase internal sd.
Then Swipe to "factory reset"
Then Go to install
Flash rom zip
Flash nano gapps.zip
Then Reboot and enjoy
