I bought this TS clone from Amazon.co.uk. It came with android 4.4 and I have tried everything to root it. Can someone nice please help me? I also want to put one of the recent custom roms on it. Thank you. My major gripe with it is that I want it to tether to my phone for notifications.

Ok, there are three ways to get a backup
try to take a look here for the first two : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2730031
the third: install the TWRP recovery by Sp Flash Tool then backup From recovery .
After installing the recovery you can root installing Chainfire superSU.zip http://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip

it would be really good to get the proper specs for the watch - the advert list some things that seem to contradict each other.
Can you let us have the info from the watch itself?
I would also be nervous about putting a custom ROM on it - you would lose the sensors; you already have KK on it, so why bother?
However, if you can get a dump as rik81 says, it might help port it onto the TS and allow our sensors to work

Ok, Ive also got one of these now.
The only way I could root it was with KingoRoot, be aware - it takes ages, but eventually works.
This unit is more like the TS than the Ironman, so there may be a good chance of backporting to the TS, with working sensors afterall.
I'll see if I can get a full backup for +kuronosan and others to have a look at.

Great, if you can provide a backup I could try to take a look.
However if it is really the same unit there should be no problem
Any news on the Backup? Looking forward to it! I hope, this will bring us a fully functional 4.4 rom for our truesmart!

This is somewhere between a TS and Ironman......the PCB and user interface look more like the original TS, as does the physical form factor, but its nearly as heavy as the Ironman, as its made of steel.
Note that the Recovery partition doesnt seem to work
I will have a look at this today.

Hi,
I'm just a RPi2 user and I discover something really interesting for Raspberry Pi series, specially for not expert people!
There is a useful tool called Berryboot that allow to easy install many Operating Systems on the MicroSD of the Raspberry.
If you are interesting in Berroboot, you can download it here: BerryBoot official website
Here a video of BerryBoot in action:

You can find many videos on YouTube. :good:

I don't know, I enabled AUTO Update in configuration panel.
The other point is: how to overclock OpenELEC under Berryboot?
Did it update yours when enableling "auto update" ?
Mine just download the update, but fails to install. Probably because it registred that it has "wrong" kernel.
I did try to manually replace the system image as suggested in OpenElec forum, but it does not boot then.
I have the same issue. I want to update Openelec 5.0.3 to latest beta 5.95...but neither auto or manual work....with Berryboot, it seems to lock the kernal some how.
I want to multi boot between Openelec, RetroPie, and one or more other OS's....but berryboot seems to be problematic with updating them. I tried NOOBS but I could not get it to boot to any OS at all. Any other multiboot loaders or suggestions?

I think BerryBoot is better because:
- It is automated, no terminal command line required
- One MicroSD with ALL Operating Systems, no need of USB storage devices..
- Boot and install every pre-compiled OSs available
- You can compile your "personal" version of any ARM OS and boot in berryboot
... plus it's really easy to use. like the script variant mentioned before in form of a link, you can use usb for the whole os which delivers more stability if you overclock the pi where sd cards don't like that and your os get damaged over time in an overclocked environment.
BerryBoot 2 on Raspberry Pi2 w/ Kali and Adafruit 3.5 LCD
Hi, I have Berryboot running a few distro's including Kali. However the small LCD screen doesn't seem to work when using Berryboot.
I tried getting the LCD to work many times w/ Berryboot and can't seem to get it to work.

Does anyone know where there is a repository for Raspberry Pi2 / Berryboot (Squashsf) distros? Converting them seems like a pain.

The official berryboot images that are used for the network setup are available on sourceforge, but are quite outdated.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/berryboot/files/os_images/
I found the process of converting the official images to squashfs not too tiresome using virtualized Linux Mint. However, some distros, like the latest version of Ubuntu Mate and OSMC are not compatible with berryboot. Having wasted some hours, I can say that squashfs limits some OS features (eg. updates, partition behaviour) and performance. On the whole, if you are serious about doing something on each of the distros, then the best approach is to use separate SD cards for each distro, convenient and offers full OS functionality. Otherwise, berryboot is a good way to just check out the various OS available, provided it is compatible with squashfs.
Thank you so much for the reply. Ya, considering the limitations, I think I'll just stick with individual SD cards.. It was more out of convenience... But I am constantly updating and changing something, so prob not best method. Thanks

Hello,
Using RPi2. This works on my 16GB Samsung SD works fine but it won't work on my Sony 64GB. I can use "Image Writer" to write a bootable image to the 64GB SD and works but for some reason I can't get the BerryBoot to boot. I used SDFormatter and confirmed it's FAT32. Any one having similar issues?
Thx

FOR TOUCHWIZZ USERS ONLY
INTRODUCTION
Hello, I like doing not too heavy custom kernel, that's why I am sharing with you the kernel, hopefully at least someone like it! I have two version of this one. But some instabilities seems to be related with the hundred of patches I added from the stable linux kernel patches project and from the common Google android kernel repo.
This is an open devDB xda project. Feel free to fill in bugs reports, feature(s) requests and reviews.
My kernel is not intended to come along with tons of patches like many kernel you can see around..
However, I think it has some nice extras features I'ill try to increase in the coming weeks.Kernel's features :
Latest Samsung's sources for MM
Compiled with GCC linaro64 6.2
Compilation options: O3 and architecture options enabled(A53 code generation optimized)
Double tap to wake: Removed for now because of non responsive screen.
cpufreq:touchboost duration and touchboost freq tweakables(only for interactive gov)
Second CPU clusters enabled: you will get 8 cores.
Overclocked max frequency for the first CPU clusters to 1.6Ghz ( 1.5 ghz remains the default)
Underclocked the second CPU cluster to 1.4 GHz not to have overheat problems
Voltage control for the first CPU
Tweaked cfq i/o scheduler to be more logical as we use NAND and not an HDD
installation instructions :
You need TWRP recovery to start with: @ashyx custom recovery does every well ! I recommend this one
Once you get TWRP installed:
If your are scared to flashing something that will ruin your boot image; you can backup your current boot image from the BACKUP menu
copy to your phone the boot.img I provided.
Press INSTALL then press the right bottom button 'install Image' to switch to theflash image feature, then navigate to the path your copied the boot.img.
Select it and just flash !
Now you can reboot .
What does work !
You can not set a max_freq for the second cluster: this is due because each time it goes on and let you the hability to change it, it will go offline and everything is to start again(if you dont crash until then). I think there is some easy for fix but I need to look over it.
What I would like to implement:
CPU voltage control
GPU governor down and threshold for each frequency step
GPU touch boost

I'had upload you image with TWRP 3.0.2, after have choosen to install an image, not a zip.

Does the CPU really has originally 8 cores? Is there any plausible reason why Samsung kept only 4 of them working by default?
thx :good:

Sorry for the delay , quite bad state of electricity here, lots of power cuts, but anyway I am uploading recovery 1st, before flashing , enable unlock device from developer option , then goto fastboot mode then type fast oem unlock, follow the instructions, let it reboot (warning ,userdata will wiped so backup before running that command. Again reboot into fastboot. Run command , fastboot flash recovery TWRPxxxxx.

Now here is the link to the recovery, use it to backup stock rom or whatever you like, never use it to flash Super User if it asks at the end, after flashing a rom, that will cause a bootloop. I have not found any bugs, it is better than one for pixel v2 available on xda, that has many bugs. Here is the patch, you may get a small error when flashing Miui rom, but it will work nevertheless. The error is while flashing busybox inside the zip. So flash the rom with twrp, wipe data, system, cache and dalvi-cache , before flashing. After that ,don't reboot, just flash the patch. and then reboot.

Warning! Before going forward , please backup your stock rom with even data on sdcard , beacuse we have low internal memory. So, if you feel like going back to stock rom you can without hassle.

Installed Successfully . Camera Bug is still there (its not an issue for me). One of the best Rom for this phone. Thanks @arshavin69
Hi
I am trying to find any custom rom that could be flashed on my J600F device.
Long story short, there is not.
I learned (and checked) J6 is actually compatible with project treble.
Now, that i know i can flash GSI roms, i am still a bit confused if this device is ARM/ARM64.
Any clue ?

I don't know too much about the subject, but I read that you need GSI's that are ARM with ARM64 binders. Samsung likes using 64-bit chips to run in 32-bit mode lol

Thank you for the answer.
That's quite even more confusing unfortunately.
If anything comes up, like a GSI/Custom rom (i tried without any positive result) that you are sure it should work for the device.. PM me anytime

pls tell me what GSI rom did you install with complete package name of the rom, and link, thanks in advance. Hope you read my reply
For the record, the name that the GSI are adapting that are compatible with the J6 is called a64 or sometimes referred to as arm32_binder64
Not to be confused with arm64 which is completely 64 bits
So, the GSI are as follows:
arm - Not compatible with J6
arm64 - Not compatible with J6
a64 - Compatible with J6
