Well, I got the error.
My I tried to turn wifi on the toggle stayed blue and wouldn't connect. I restarted it and was greeted with security error.
I tried LG Mobile Support tool, but it seems my computer can't recognize the phone via USB at all. Yes, I have the correct drivers.
This phone has the <3e> recovery, but I don't have file to perform an update from. The L70 is the same phone, and people have a working recovery on that. Is there anything I can do?
Hi there, @vwnut13,
This forum, About xda-developers, is the location for people to post and make threads about the XDA Developers website itself. It is not a place to ask device-related questions.
Therefore, I'd like to redirect you to ask your question in either the Android Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting forum or the general Questions and Answers forum. There will be people there who can help you.
Thanks.
Hello,
Just purchased this phone and would like a root in order to expand its storage. It's a new offering from TracFone and is limited for on-phone storage. Other than that, it's a fairly decent phone considering it is a TF. I searched the forums and found other similar phones, but none matched this one. If someone would be willing to help, you would get a lot of thanks from TF users who bought this phone.

If you have PC follow these:
Try to download "kingo android" in your pc
then connect your device to pc via USB cable
open kingo android and start
If you dont have a pc and you have recovery mode in your device follow these:
search this: root (your device name) .zip file
and if you are successful put that zip file on root folder(the folder you see when you open your built-in file manager)
switch your phone to recovery mode
volume up, volume down, and menu button are the controls
navigate it to "apply update"
then choose your the zip file
If you dont have a pc and dont have a recovery mode follow these:
download "framaroot" "rootmaster" all apk
Hope it helps

Thank you for your suggestions. I have tried several of the one-click methods for root (Kingo, Genius, towelroot, framaroot, etc.). All of which have been unsuccessful. Obviously, there is no rom available for this phone. If anyone has any other info, I would really appreciate it.

I got the same phone same problem while i didnt find a root for it i found out how to install to sd very useful
go to google and type in how to install apps to sd card no root then click on the link for instructables i cannot post link because im a new user worked for me

I realize this is an older thread, but I have devised a fully working root strategy for the Alcatel A564C. If anyone is interested let me know. If there is any interest I'll start a root thread for this device.

Hi MotoJunkie01. I saw your post today, and I just got an Alcatel A564C from TracFone. I would be very interested in rooting this device, since the accessible internal memory is so small it makes it almost unusable. Please open a root thread for this device if you feel there is enough interest. Or, if you would be willing, just send me a PM with the instructions. I have been able to gain temporary root permissions on this device using KingRoot, but they go away with every reboot. Also, I have not found any way to unlock the bootloader. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'll get a thread and a guide posted on rooting the A564C. I've had some PMs with interest as well. I'll post the link here once done.
MotoJunkie, fellow R.F. guy here, I have been browsing this site for well over a year and just signed up in fact this is my first post. I was following your information on the LG zone 3 as well. I own a brand new in the box A564C and just can't get it rooted. I too, tried different ways and actually was able to get temp root once with kingroot when the phone was really lagged out for some reason I had root until reboot. But now every version of kingroot that I run comes back with a network error which is strange and didn't used to happen. So please, let us know what you have found out. I am eager to hear back from you. And, thank you so very much for your willingness to share your knowledge.
Just checking back in, to see if any advancements or progress has been made. I'm excited about finally rooting this device and anxiously waiting.

I'm getting a thread started, as well as threads for other various devices. I know you're anxious, but please be mindful that XDA rules prohibit asking for ETAs and such. It's not that I particularly mind, I just don't want to see you sanctioned for rule violations by a moderator.
A couple of things, I I may....
First of all, aside from the rules (not that I'm saying that I don't respect them, I do but at the same time want you to know what I'm about to say is genuine and not out of fear of getting booted off the forum) I want to personally apologize if I came off as asking for an ETA or came off as rude or unappreciative in any way, shape or form. That was not my intent at all, and rather than PM you I wanted to publicly say that I am sorry for that and to let you know as I previously mentioned how much I enjoy reading your posts and am thankful for your willingness to share your knowledge. With that said I won't get off subject or topic again. I just felt that I needed you to know that I was just excited that someone had it figured out is all and I will pay closer attention on how I come across from now on. Take care.

You're are both respectful and courteous, qualities that are coveted and always welcome here at XDA. I didn't take any offense to your questions but I appreciate your kind words. On an update for this device, I'll be posting a root thread early this week coming -- Tuesday or Wednesday most likely. I have threads for this and at least 4 more devices I'll be posting.
Thanks again for your kind words. By the way I'll be posting the link to my thread here, so check early in the week.
I certainly will...thanks for your reply, and can't wait! I will keep checking back periodically. Thanks again!!
Update: I'm experiencing a boot loop on my own device from trying to flash custom recovery. Trying to get this snag worked out and get the tutorial posted. Sorry for delay.
Hey,..noooo problem on this end...again, just grateful you're both willing to work through the issues and obstacles as they come your way (and if it's anything like that happens to me they sometimes seem to come out of no where, just about when I think my task is complete) but also appreciative that you're willing to share. I would like to start a new thread, not to pile on your list of people bugging you about things already, but need to find the right section. It is more of an R.F. type related question with regards to the modems in the phones and weather the modulation techniques and bands capable are software driven like a software defined radio or more hardware dependent. I know as far as bands go the frequency coverage would have to depend on hardware all the way from the local oscillator to the RX strip to the TX PA as far as gain and linearity, duplexors of some type, antenna (s) being resonant at the middle of the desired band (s) but as far as modulation techniques being more software controlled somehow? Anyways, stuff that I am very interested in but haven't found a section??

MotoJunkie01 - I'm curious to know if this boot loop issue has resulted in you stopping work on rooting this device? Although I am still interested in obtaining root on this phone, I'm cool either way. I'm just posting to see if you think obtaining root and posting a tutorial is still in the cards?
Thanks again for your work on this. I really do appreciate it.
I'm sorry guys. Upon trying to flash the device with a stock fir!mware image to fix the boot loop, my device is now hard bricked. I can tell you, in order to root your device, use the latest KingRoot apk. This will give you temp root only, meaning root will not survive a reboot. So, to gain permanent root, install BusyBox (any version should suffice), then download SuperSU-Me Pro from the Play Store (paid app). This will eradicate the KingRoot root binaries from your device and replace them with the latest version of SuperSU. You will then have full root.

Hello.
I will thank you if this method would work on my phone, but I am unsure my root would be successful. I would appreciate the steps you took in order to root the A564C(such as time to root, USB debugging, etc.) and if you can post how your phone is doing since the root. I would be much thankful.

Hi, I have tried and it does not support OPPO R9S. Feel so useless with a unrooted phone now.
Hey check this out:
http://www.anzow.com/news/List/JNDNRNFOE4.shtml
I just run into this page. With a little patience and Google Translate maybe, it might work...
Anyways, If you already found a solution, please share it.
I'm thinking of buying the R9s Plus when it comes out.
What are your first impressions of your phone?

I have tried the page you posted but still unable to root. Seems like the phone is too new for now. My advice if you like your phone to be rooted., don't get the OPPO R9S or plus when it comes out. Color OS 3.0 doesn't let you choose the default launcher even though you install other launcher. No notification badge for whatsapp and facebook as such. Though you changed the system language to English but some setting or apps would still display chinese. Its my bad that I didn't did a background check on OPPO OS and went to purchase it. Now I am stuck with a this phone.

TBH, I don't think that the Oppo R9S will receive any love from any dev with the way Oppo changed its direction in beginning of 2016.
1. They stopped releasing kernel sources and are in violation of GPL.
2. They removed fastboot binarys from all of their phones and firmwares since the beginning of 2016.
And closed down any possibility of getting an custom recovery flashed to gain root.
3. Community support management in their official support forum is non-existent.
4. They barely do any updates to the firmware.
5. Their Lollipop released phones from end of 2015 are still on Lollipop. While all other OEM's have pushed Marshmallow/Nougat for their 2015 devices (see ASUS).
6. Their strategy is selling the phones and if the customer wants an Android upgrade you have to buy another newer Oppo phone from them which is based on a new Android build.
7. I could go on and on...
in short stay of from that OEM if you want freedom on your phone or want any type of dev support.
Haven't rooted it, but you can fix the launcher issue in ADB. Basically install a new launcher then adb shell pm hide com.oppo.launcher
There's a few other fixes too, posted them in a thread on the oppo forums http://community.oppo.com/en/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=50113

If you find a way to root the device. Let us know.
I'm not interested in the device itself or Oppo at all.
Already got burned with an Oppo R7S which I ported to CM later on.
But with root we can unchain those users that fall into Oppo's trap at least.
I too have fallen into their trap. It's horrible. It's iOS
I have the latest R9s too and it's terrible. It's like owning an iPhone or living in a dictatorship.
No multiple widgets, no choice in launcher, no multiple apps, no voice input....
If anyone finds a way to free us PLEASE HELP! SOS. :crying:
See my link above for sorting the launcher issue without root. This also sorts out your other complaints and makes the phone quite nice even without root.

Maybe try the same method that worked for the Oppo R9 Plus?
Look at the last post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oppo-f1/help/how-root-oppo-r9-plus-t3460851
Sadly that 360 Root program doesn't work on the R9S. It also comes from a known malware domain.
If it's any help, here's the official downloads for the stock OS:
V5 2016-11-05
V6 2016-12-02
Here's what I've found so far:
You can get into Qualcomm's firmware download mode by holding vol+ and vol- while plugging in a USB cable. This doesn't seem to be that useful as it appears to be a write-only mode unless you have an SPC code, and I don't even know what that is.
You get out of that mode by holding vol+, vol- and power for 10 seconds.
In the stock OS, if you dial *#801# you get an engineering menu, if you then enable the Full-port switch option the phone then shows up in QPST and tells you its ESN and lets you access the embedded file system. Not found out how to access the kernel or system partitions yet, but I'm currently running a backup of the phone's flash, so that's nice
I'll keep editing this post as I find stuff. My first goal is to take a backup of the stock ROM.

Good information you provided here!
In the past there have been factory flasher images provided/leaked in the past.
That made it possible to flash the factory images to the R7 series phones.
If you are lucky, in time there will be one for the R9S. If you find a way to unlock the bootloader let me know. I can build you an TWRP but that only makes sense if there is a way to unlock the bootloader.
If you find a way to backup the aboot. Let me know. I could try to pass that along to an interpreter coder. He may be able to find a way to get fastboot working. (I'm assuming here that Oppo removed it on purpose like they did on all their latest phones)

It is usually done with a custom programmer.
But I have no actual knowledge how it's done, as in:
Like where you get the sources to write one programmer yourself to access the emmc to read out the flash and extract the GPT tables.
Using those GPT tables to extract the proper partition and so on, while in "EDL Mode".
But there are people who do in this forum. I would start using the search feature and contact those who have programmed such tools.
Here is an example of such an custom programmer:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/axon7tool-flash-backup-boot-recovery-t3514254
I was wondering if anyone could help, I have had this phone for a few days now. I'm trying to use a third party sms app Google messages, I can't seem to set this app as default when ever a SMS comes in I get an error message saying for your security we have switched back to the default SMS app (oppo stock app) is there any way I could "hide" the oppo security app in adb? The only reason is the stock app is terrible... Or some how root and put stock Android on the phone?

I tried to comment on the topic itself, but it says that I am not allowed. I went to the part where it says flash bootroot.img, and then the device bricked. I was able to recover the system, and I would like to get root access.
Sorry, I forgot about the restrictions for new users. Ok, I suggest we try this a different way. But before we start, I need the answer to these 5 questions:
how did you unbrick your device?
what does Settings -> About -> Hardware Information -> CPU say?
what does Settings -> About -> Build Number say?
which operating system is running on your computer?
have you already got adb and fastboot installed on your computer (if you're not sure, it won't hurt to assume no )
(Note that I have some rooting and command line experience but haven't rooted an Asus Zenfone 3 ZS570KL myself yet and don't have one to try this out, so I can only help with generic steps.)
I got it! I studied with a little more calm and found some procedures on the topic that worked. Thank you very much!
Glad you found a way! Btw: If you want to thank someone, then pressing the small "Thanks" button underneath their post would also be nice, cos that goes into their profile so others can see at a glance that others have already considered their posts helpful. Enjoy root!
Hello, I'm new to this thread thingy, but I'm tired of looking through the internet for a way to root my Honor 8 lite 2017.I've been looking for a way to root it for several months now, but no luck. I've found a couple threads on other websites, but I always end up with a problem when it comes to flashing the .img . I always go through this "Waiting recovery Failed: remote command not allowed" Error. Its been bugging me too much.
One more thing, the ADB can't find my device when I type "fastboot devices"
I'm posting this in a hope to find a solution.
Thank you.

Ok so like, I tried everything from here "https://forum.xda-developers.com/8-lite" But I'm stuck at the fastboot devices. It doesn't seem to read my device so I'm having trouble with that still. And the same goes for the "Waiting recovery Failed: remote command not allowed" Error. I don't know what else to do. I tried using the word boot instead of recovery but no dice.
