Samsung S9+ Popup when viewing pictures - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Samsung Galaxy S9+. Whenever I try to view a picture I get a popup that says, "Allow location to be shown?"
If I tap on it, it goes to google chrome, and brings up a privacy statement from foursquare.
Virus?

No, I have the same on my device. Dont know why they need foursquare to show coordinates on Google maps though...

[Q] Location in Google Calendar App

hi
SO I have this SGSII now and using Lightning ROM on it, which has apparently the stock Calendar App. I can sync my google calendar etc and it works but there is the following nagging small issue.
If I create an event in google calendar and put a valid "google locatable address" in the "location bar" then it does show up in the event details. If I have phone number in the description it also shows up in the event details (in the sammy)
there is a hyperlink for the phone to dial the number also which is great.... HOWEVER, even if the location does show up there is no hyperlink on it, to directly locate the address in the stock "google maps" app!!!
I have to go to "edit event" and then scroll down, to the location box, and then there is the "map button" next to it which if clicked takes me to map... thats rather pain in the A**... Is there a issue-tracker for this app, where I can file an enhancement request ??

I expect you'd report it here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/list.
Looking a bit further, seems to be this? http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=17984

[Q] Can you track your GT with Samsung DIVE?

Reading other topics I found this Samsung Dive site, which is supposed to track, lock and even wipe my device remotely.
The site properly identifies my GT 10.1, but when I try to use any function of the site, I receive this message:
If "Remote Controls" is deactivated or you didn't allow "Google's Location Service", the use of this feature is restricted.
I have already enabled Google Location Service under the "Location & Security" menu, but I could not find the "Remote Controls" option anywhere.
Is this option hidden somewhere or is it only available on Samsung phones?
Did you manage to track your device using Samsung Dive?

The option is only available if you have flashed a TouchWiz ROM on your device. Then it is in the options by where you encrypt your tablet.
tried last week it was working fine but now Samsungdive.com is acting up on every browser

Amazon cloud player can't seem to log in

Has anyone downloaded the Amazon Mp3 Cloud player app? If so, are you having issues logging in? There doesn't seem to be an actual log in button...you have your username, then password, then the "Enter" key is really just a "Next" key and I can't seem to actually log in.
The web UI for the amazon cloud player sucks...any advice?
For some reason I have it installed on the phone but when I try to open the app it keeps telling me "Application is not installed on your phone". When I first installed and opened it says change your language and keyboard to English. This is the AT&T Note not the international Note. So looks like Amazon or Samsung has to fix this.
Are your phones rooted? Amazon seems to detect root and not allow people to access content, at least when it comes to video. I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same with audio.
it happen to me, i couldn't log in the the amazon app store, do to i have onces to many device activate in one account. you make have to de-activate. try that see if it help.
In case anyone runs across this, I finally figured it out. On the sign-in "pop-up" you have to drag it up to see the Sign-In button!

[Q] App that lets you find Android as well as iOS devices?

Hello,
I have a rooted Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 that I primarily use, along with other iOS and Android devices that people close to me use. They are all my devices, and sometimes I want to check to see where the devices is located, be it one of my iOS devices or an Android device. I am looking for an app (paid or free, it doesn't matter to me as long as it works!) that allows you to find iOS devices (by entering the iCloud account) and also allows you to find your android devices (by entering the google account associated with the device).
I have all of these devices below, all assigned to different iCloud accounts, and Google accounts than my Galaxy S5 phone:
iPad Retina Display (assigned to iClound account "[email protected]")
iPhone 6 (assigned to iClound account "[email protected]")
Samsung Galaxy S3 (assigned to Google account "[email protected]")
Rooted Samsung Galaxy S5 (assigned to Google account "[email protected]")
Rooted Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 Tablet (assigned to Google account "[email protected]")
HTC One M8 (assigned to Google account "[email protected]")
I was wondering if there was an Android app that I could install on my rooted Galaxy S5 to allow me to enter and save all the above account credentials, and when I want to locate a device (and make it ring, or freeze it, etc), I can open the app, select the account, and have it find it.
Currently the only way I can manage these is by using Android Device Manager and using the Guest option to log in to find the other Google Account's Devices, and opening a separate app on my Galaxy S5 to find where my iOS devices are (and I have to log in, typing the full iCloud email and password each time - no options to store).
I found one app that was SO close to what I want - from the Play store (I can't link it - don't have enough posts) called "Find My Phone, xFi Locator Pro". It allows me to store multiple iOS iCloud accounts and find them whenever I want, and it also lets you find Android devices too. But for some reason, the developers decided to make it so you have to install this app - xFi Endpoint- on each Android device you want to be able to locate. So for Android, it doesn't let you log in with a google account, it makes you log in with the google email address, and a PIN set up from that xFi Endpoint app. This is quoted from the "xFi Locator Pro" description:
xFi Locator
This app will locate and perform real-time location tracking of iOS devices as well as Android devices.
-To locate an iOS device, use iCloud credential that was used to activate the target device.
-To locate an Android device, install this app,xFi Endpoint, on the target device.

Click to collapse
So that app is not what I want. I am wondering if there even is such an app. If there isn't, I think I will try to make my own. But I can't believe there isn't an app out there already. Maybe it's not possible to make because of some restriction by Google? I don't know.
Does anyone know of a solution for me?
Thank you very much for reading and for any help.

User profile picture

This is really bothering me now i mean i have searched and found nothing surely someone has had this irritable problem.
Well i bought a nexus 9 for my daughter upon factory reset android 5.1.1 i can not seem to add a picture (made the account fresh) in the user profile it just got a silhouette of a person in blue. How on earth do i change that picture i have tried to log into the same google account on my PC as it lets me change mine but when i log in with my daughters the picture icon is not their to change it..
again how on earth do i change this i tried google email google plus and i can not see an option their but i did manage to see a picture setting in google mail and sized it but it still does not show the picture.
Just a quick update tried the online help and it says on lock screen press the user image but that does nothing all it does is switches users.
This thread might help.
Have you gone to settings, users? Click on the user you want to put a picture on. You should see a user profile pop-up. On the left is the blue silhouette, click on it. It lets you choose a picture.
