For any of you curious on how to enter the service menu on the us997, or probably other models as well, heres the code (replace the 997 with ur 3 digit model number)
However there is one big catch, which was what was keeping me from accessing the menu, and i imagine anybody else having trouble getting into it....
THE FOLLOWING CODE MUST BE ENTERED INTO THE STOCK LG DIALER, NOT A 3RD PARTY APP SUCH AS THE GOOGLE PHONE APP OR EXDIALER!!
*#546368#*997#
REMEMBER THE ABOVE TIP AND THIS SHOULD HELP ANYBODY HAVING TROUBLE ACCESSING THEIR HIDDEN SERVICE MENU
Also on Oreo you'll now find the option to disable many sensors in this menu, including the moisture sensor in case it's throwing a false flag keeping you from being able the charge your phone!
Confirmed, on H870 just change the last 3 digits to 870

Awesome, great to hear! I had been tryin forever to figure it out, trying dozens of different codes, before it finally hit me to try out the stock LG dialer app instead of my default dialer, Google Phone.... Shazam!!!
LOL! So lazy people who only discover this only now!!
of course this code is for all LG phones with Marshmallow and up, just change the model number and this code will work.
Example:
For G6 EU: *#546368#*870#
For V10 EU: *#546368#*960#
For V30 EU: *#546368#*930#
...blah blah blah.
Did the people who make theyr mind only now this already have been discovered a looooooong time ago, and proves you people over this thread is so lazy and didnt know even how to google it, is all around the foruns since a loooooooong time...
So, useless thread, since this already have been posted in this forum too, for a looooooooooooong time ago, just search!! LAZY PEOPLE...meh

Haha apparently you're the lazy forumite lol =)
Yes this code is easily found via a quick search, but several people including myself we're unable to get this code to work, and no one could seem to figure out why, or at least to the best of my knowledge from all the searching I've done. Finally I realized the trick to it last night, which was my main purpose in creating this thread, for the people like me who mysteriously couldn't get it to work.
To sum it all up, this code has to be in put it directly into the stock LG Dialer app only, no third party apps such as Google Dialer or exdialer will work, rather they will only return an invalid mmi code pop-up....
But I do appreciate you reading and commenting though the negative energy is Best Kept to yourself, Just for future reference! Thanks again!

i dont be negative to you, i just be surprised and my reaction was like: "WoW, someone discover the gold!" - when other just take the gold for all other people out there, you just discover the mine and not gold itself.
just saying the true, of course if the code is for LG only OF COURSE only will work with LG own dialer.
Dont you worry, be happy!

My daughter has a HTC Inspire & recently lost it due to behavior unbecoming for a young lady!! My question is is there a way to gain root access in order to blow out the password file & access the phone or any other trick that wont reset everything? If im being honest, Im scared to death of what I might find but also believe its something that needs to be addressed before something even worse happens! Any of you with daughters know what im talking about.
I guess I could just record a youtube video of me putting a couple rounds in it!
Thanks in advance!

this should do it
That looks like a nice program to instal on the device after I get into it but as it stands now the phone is locked & I dont even think its even rooted at this time! I need a tool or windows download of some sort. Any help greatly appreciated!
How about this?
http://androidadvices.com/unlock-android-phone-forgot-pin-password-screen-lock/
It should work but it will require you to know the Gmail account (username and password) that your daughter used when she setup the phone in order to access android market on your PC and download the app.
Good luck

Do you know the # of characters for the password?
Start by trying things that you know your daughter is into... favourite band, tv show, etc.. or simple things like her birthday, her best friend's name
But honestly, why wouldn't you just ask her?
Tell her AT&T needs to know her password so they can try to recover the phone... just get creative, then once you unlock it install the app and you're good to go!
Yeah I figured out the password & tried to install the program but it says for security your phone is set to block installation of non market apps & takes me to settings but i couldnt find any options to allow me to do it.
Is this a relevant article or is there an newer or easier way?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=706887
Go to
Menu > Settings > Applications
Check the "unknown sources" box, good to go.
Not sure if AT&T still locks their phones from doing this.. but if so, the option won't be there..
I can't imagine that they would do still lock them from sideloading because then you wouldn't be able to use the Amazon app store..
Let me know

Jesus man ......... i so wish you hadn't posted this bro ........*sigh*.
I have 6 year old twin girls ......... and one of them Gretel ........ already has the most inappropriate friends you could possible imagine ...............
Am not being 'square' in believing 6 year olds do not need high heels am I??
That 6 year olds encouraging each other to kiss boys is unnecessarily early??
Or that in 2012 hair length and colour of garment should not be a big gender signifier??
Dood .......... please tell me it gets better??
Yeah its NOT giving me that option..... Im updating the software in hopes that fixes it. any other work arounds for sideloading if not?
And no sir unfortunately it DOESNT get better! Im gonna end up in prison!! LOL
No offence, but at six years old, you should be able to dictate who her friends are - so long as you have the mother's (wife's?) support
I do hear what you are saying.. environmentally it's hard nowadays.. so much inappropriate influence from media/friends/etc
but my five year old daughter does what I say.. end of story.. it all boils down to the parents. Act now brother! Save the children! (seriously) it only gets harder.

Yeah that would work where it not for the fact that my kids are at school full time 5 days a week 9am-3pm and the inappropriate kids are her school friends. I have no control over who see hangs with at school ........ just like every other parent.
Looking for solutions for something similar to this.
maybe a free solution..... Anyone heard or have any expeirence with anything like this?
mobile-spy.com
Go to htcsense.com, log on to the accpunt she useful for HTC apps. From there you can track her phone, forward messages and calls to another phone. Lock the phone, etc..... I love it because I lost it once and I tracked it down and found it, also I was able to forward everything to my galaxy s.

Have spent a fair amount of time on google (and and ddg and bing, just in case google's contractually bound to stfu or anything) searching for a way to circumvent the gestapo tactics employed by at&t to filter us in to being thrilled that they will one day come out with an equivalent system to what google wallet has been offering since 2011, and i haven't found anything for this phone except for 2 people that swore it'd be done that never responded. I want to post this here, where people that tinker thrive.
I realize google wallet isn't a hot issue for most of us.. but for those of us that would like to have it and to get that experience in while the 0$ fraud liabillity extends to cards stored on our phones' memory, i'd like to ask once and for all..
is there a way to get google wallet working on an AT&T htc one? i have seen conclusive accounts of people with other phones having it working.. but through everything except having this number active on another carrier and bringing it over, i have personally not found positive results. in the three days i've been trying, i HAVE gotten gwallet force closing, getting the 'unfortunately, wallet has stopped', message, or getting bored after 5 minutes and doing something else on my phone to see the gwallet has stopped message.
if there's a guide, please post it. otherwise, if anyone has actually gotten gwallet working on AT&T's network (or off with an unlocked number and have goteen it working with at&t) please share it here.
To be honest, it's like at&t has absolute control over what goes through this phone, even when on wifi. at the very least the goal of this thread is to find out conclusively that my data isn't filtered by some master at&t .hosts file somewhere in texas ,but i'd definitely prefer to leave with a working wallet app, so chime in if you know something i dont
always overly appreciative and way too damn generous with the thanks,
me

Hey guys,
i'm looking for someone with a Huawei "Phone Account", and is willing to help me generate my bootloader unlock code
i am from Germany and can't register a "Phone Account" with my phone number.
i desperately hope there is someone that is willing to help me, just post here and i'll provide the necessary information via pm!

At the risk of sounding silly, do some Googling on this one. What you're asking for is a little sketchy, but there's a large enough community of tinkers for Huawei since they've penetrated the North American market. You may have to google translate some of the foreign resources.
Googling for what exactly? i googled for days, and didn't find any way, despite sending an email to [email protected], which i did 6 times, starting five weeks ago, and havent got ANY sort of reply so please be a bit more specific

Had any luck? I'm in the same boat -- it seems since the online boot code unlocker tool has gone live, Huawei has quit answering emails requesting a code (I've sent too many requests to count, for weeks now and gotten nothing back). But, just like you, I don't have a phone number that is eligible to register as a "phone account," and so the tool is useless.
I'm getting pretty close to ordering a cheap SIM from a country from which Huawei allows phone accounts to be registered.
EDIT: I managed it, just now. The key was to use the Chinese version of the unlock website ( h t t p://emui.huawei.com/cn/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail ) -- this version doesn't require a product ID, and it doesn't even seem to matter what device you pick from the dropdown -- it just calculates the code from the SN and the IMEI (at least, for me, running it multiple times picking different devices but putting in the same SN and IMEI generated the same code each time; YMMV). Google translate does an EXCELLENT job on the page text, and it was super simple.

Dude, i'm sorry i didn't already respond here with my solution... actually, i have no idea if it was just luck, or if they have changed their system because of my e-mail-spam-campaign
So, this is how it worked for me! You go here: http://www.emui.com/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail
1st: browser to http://www.emui.com/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail
You should be landing directly on the unlock page!
---> don't change the language!! keep it chinese, or whatever kind of language that is ^^
---> don't user googe translater!
2nd: select the second element (from top to bottom) in the first box
3.: You select the model "HUAWEI Y300-0000"
4.: in the first box you enter your S/N
5. in the second your IMEI
6. in the third you enter the captcha
now send a prayer to god, and press the green button...
thats it, s if they ask for your account, then just use the normal account, which you probably already have
soo.... din't get any sleep the last two nights... cheers!
EDIT: Wow, i was that tired yesterday, i didn't even notice that i wrote Denglish (= German + English) sorry
i have corrected the post now, please let me know if you had success!
And don't hesitate to send me a PM with your data, if it doesn't work for you, i'll try it and do my best - know what you're going through man, i was at the same point, also even considering buying a foreign SIM just for this crap! And out of sheer frustration, i tryed it for the millionth time, and out of nowhere suddenly it worked... i couldn't believe it!
If it doesn't work for you, and i can generate your code for you, i'll write a webpage, which uses my account to help others that are stuck in the same dilemma...
well unfortunately, my device still won't boot, i can flash what i want, it shows me "Func NO : 12 (FUNC_LOAD_IOM3)" and i found almost no information about what it even means...

Hey, no worries! As I edited my earlier comment to say, I got it, using a variation of what you described as your process. Thanks a ton for your write up though -- hopefully it will also help the next person, because this is clearly a common problem.
I feel the same as you, that now that I've gotten it to work I want to make sure other people manage it as well -- a web page or new post with detailed instructions in the manufacturer specific forum...I dunno.

Ugh, sorry mate. Again I'm in a similar (though more common, and potentially less dire) boat: I can flash what I want, but I'm in a bootloop, only able to boot into recovery. Oh well...progress, right?
Good luck!

I'm glad you managed it! even with my writeup in total doze, couldnt even hold my eyes open (i think i actually fell asleep while writeing it a couple times xD) where i switched between languages,
and wrote half sentences but i wanted to get it out to you asap, to end your suffering
to your bootloop problem:
Well you're close, actually falshing a full image (B127 for example) should do the trick... if not, try to find out why the device is rebooting ( -> errorlogs)
to my problem: well, i cant even get into recovery, all i got atm is fastboot... the only thing the search revealed about the error i'm getting is, that this has something to do whith some kind of sensor(s), i guess i damaged a partition which holds some kind of firmware/driver for some kind of sensor...
BUT: i have a Riffbox, so my last resort is flashing via JTAG, but unfortunatley the Mate 7 isn't supported at the moment, and i didn't get a response when i asked them to help me build a ressurrector for it... :/
Hey, long time, but still see a lot of great information here! I'll make this a quick one as I just upgraded, through a VERY long process of trying to find the right phone, from an LG Tribute 1 to the LG Tribute Dynasty. The main reason the search was extensive was due to trying to find the right Virgin phone that could be rooted. So far no good, so I just went with the LGTD.
I got it nice and tweaked and organized, but figured I'd still hold out hope on any suggestions root related. I checked through the forum and google and nothing extensive, which sucks b\c King Root worked so well for the Tribute's 1 and 2. My friend who mods a lot said that the manufactures are really cracking down on this apparently, related to the boot loader or some such; I'm not as techy.
And the second issue would be, if there's no hope root wise for the LGTD, any suggestions on a reliable system \ phone wide ad \ spam blocker? I got REALLY spoiled with Ad Away but oh guess what, it's root only!
Either way thanks in advance everyone!
i came across your post because i wish my friends, who know i'm a tech person, would ask for help before wasting their money on crap like this.
so next time... figure out which of the tri-opolies you are going to get your mobile service from and *then* pick something that already has community support behind it.
even a bing search quickly shows Virgin Mobile runs on the Sprint network, so basically look for any Sprint device that has official LineageOS support, buy used, same money all around and enjoy more complete control over a new to you device.
meanwhile... you can at least use latest GC has some ad blocking built in, Fx can do similar as well with stuff like uBlock Origin, but those sorts of add-ons tend to eat ram and cpu, so i just stick to minor improvements like HTTPS Everywhere, Decentraleyes, and Dark Reader.
hope that helps.
Maybe I missed it somewhere in these forums, but I really want a comprehensive guide to unlocking the bootloader so I can install Lineage on the T-Mobile (GN2200) variant of the OnePlus Nord N20 5G (if it's even possible). I have OEM unlock enabled, but no way of enabling Fastboot or anything else. I've more or less hit a wall and I'm not quite sure what to do.
Well first and foremost, you need to submit an application to receive a.n unlock token if you're with T-Mobile .

I have a sort of "cooldown" time before I get a token (due to how recently I purchased the phone). What action would I normally take following that?
It's takes 7 days after the application submission before you'll receive said token anyhow..

I had a very interesting morning with OnePlus. It's my opinion they have been hacked. I have my bin file and went to the official link the Rep supplied to me only to try and download the test.apk...wel it installed some PsyxRay wallpaper app. I went right back to chat and informed them if this. I asked if the app was harmful as I got it from there official URL. He quickly with out checking or missing a beat said no. I will attach the link. Use caution, I don't know if it's ok or not. Ihe said it was ok he kept assuring me. I asked him why is it not a OnePlus app of which he really didn't have an answer. They told me to check back in 30 minutes. I fully intend to. If they have been hacked this is huge news that I discovered and what's even worse when confronted, if they were hacked are lying to their customers... I have the entire conversation. I have to clio together the screen shots. I will post in 10 or so minutes.
