For everyone else that may come here looking for help like I did, you can install this app called Droid Info (it's on the Play store) that tells you about your hardware. Just look for the CPU Info under the "System" tab and it should be there.

It's arm64, for those actually wanting an answer to the question.

Installing "Unsupported" apps

Hi guys
I've had a look around and understand that I'll need to edit the 'build prop' so that my device is recognised as another phone in order to have a more widespread choice of apps.
I want to install Need for Speed most wanted but the application cannot be found in the Play store and installing via the web based Play store is not allowed due to the app not being supported.
It makes me wonder how many other apps I could be missing out on!
Would anyone be able to recommend the changes to make as I don't want to make any mistakes and also how to go about making changes - I know this currently can't be done via a file explorer and probably has to be done via recovery.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Are you running custom or stock? And just throwing this out that I'm pretty sure NFS doesn't work on our phones. A review I watched showed that it just displays a black screen.

I am guessing that whether stock or rooted, by installing apps from unknown sources, you are betting (praying, might also help) that some nefarious developer out there is not smart enough to leave some "cool" bug on your device.
But I'm not positive by any means, either.
Don't know what OS you're running but both NFS run great on HD2 Ansar 8773 ROM (and in years of sideloading apps I've yet to encounter some mythical '"cool" bug' - even in WM6.5 but least of all in the protected WP7 OS..Android is a different story!)

...you're talking about a ROM we don't have because you're talking about a different phone. No offense, but how do all of these people not see Droid DNA plastered all over the top? Lol

The Nabi 2

Great device, terrible Rom. Not many options on rooting it. There's gotta be millions of them out there, all with no PLAY STORE.

Doh!
Yeah, it's rooted and has TWRP recovery. GApps gets you Google Play. If you use the above OP method, but only do selection number 2 and install GApps via TWRP later. Option number 1 is buggy and not likely to work. Actually, not all t499's GApps package linked to much later in the thread. Or, check out aijcofs' Nabi Lab.

Nabi Lab v. 2 is incredibly easy to use. Actually the original way is easy but with like one extra step to do with the newer gapps. Its good to have guys put in work on root and all, but I wish we had a sub-forum and roms and kernel source. I hope Fuhu still updates to JB.

Multi-questions

Let me first say :glad to be back (3-4 years back had a nokia with symbian that with the help of this forum i did minor modifications to)on the forum and out of the clutches of apple(3-4 days ago traded iphone 4 32gb for LGOG)
Now first question: I've rooted my phone attempting to remove any and all bloatware, however I can't seem to remove it?
Second question: in regards to cases what's the differences between att and sprint LGOG's?
Third question: how do I sent picture messages? Seems like a dumb question but every time I try to do so the message says something like "picture too big ,compressing" now normally that's fine it compresses the picture I send and its good however when I get said message the text I had started to send to whomever is gone and I'm back at the message as if I never started it?
Fourth question: how do I send a multiple contact message?
Finally : since this was a multiple question post, I did search , did read, tried everything I could think of to avoid asking a repeated-a-million-times-question , sorry if I did and sorry if I put in wrong part of forum
Thank you sincerely
LGOG rookie

After you root, before you delete/disable/uninstall any apps. Do the Freegee bl unlock. Otherwise you will get bl security errors and bootloops.
Is there a free version?

Nope, you have to pay for it in the app store.
Or you can search and take a look in the other section (like the development section). I could be wrong, I dunno.
Drat well as in expensive as it is,still can't afford it at the moment

You should be able to disable most bloat through settings, manage applications, then all. Click on the app you want to disable and go to town.

There is a free version of freegee on the playstore. Its exactly the same as the paid version.

Read carrett's at the top of the section. He explains flashing of new ROM's, etc. The ROM's can be found in one of the 2 development sections.

install titanium backup ROOT , delete any apps you do not want, really I just deleted most of the at&t stuff or stuff that requires you to purchase other things. one app that is worth its money is root explorer, sounds like you are new to android, one helpful tip to you is when you do buy these things in the play store you will always have it as long as you remember your google account, get a new device bam, still have the apps you purchased.
Yes I'm extremely new to droid as a whole
Let alone rooting and other info
Been trying to avoid posting a millions questions that could be avoided with a couple searches, I'm coming from iphone .
Iphones are insanely simple compared to droid ,however with the right tweaks droid can prevail for sure.

I phones seem simple because they don't have any of the customizations that android does. So, I guess iPhone is simple and not in a good way.
Also, "droid" is more commonly used to refer to the phone model by Motorola. We generally use the term android when speaking of the OS in broader terms. But more commonly we use the specific term for the version of Android or ROM that we're speaking of at the moment, Jelly Bean, AOSP, stock, for example. You'll get the hang of it.

Download the free Freegee App from the play store.
Run the app. Backup EFS. Click unlock Bootloader.
Boot into Fast Boot, then CWM or TWRP (depending what recovery you chose when using Freegee)
Make a backup.
Reboot phone and get an app called Titanium Backup (paid version has more options)
Using Titanium Backup you can uninstall bloatware or freeze them if you have the paid version (this is easiest and safest I believe)
OR you can use Root Explorer or a similar root file manager to manually delete each apk
Be careful what you delete. There is a post here listing what apps can safely be removed without messing up your phone.
Read twice, click once. Good luck

I would also have to say to the new guys...dont get all wound up on installing a new rom, trust me I have upgraded lots of roms from backflip, atrix, htc inspire but all those needed it. I have to say the original rom that comes on these LG's is pretty good, unless it doesnt do what you need it to I wouldnt worry about a new rom. root it so you can delete some of the bloat.
100% agreed. Amazing Rom for stock. I did the same thing and I'm loving it

Magic 2014 compatibility

I'm running JellyBeans build 18 on Perseus, and I'm trying to get this game to work. When I goto the play store, it says my device is not compatible. Any ideas? I see people give reviews of the game using a note 2, so I feel a little left out.
Thanks

You should be able to modify your build.prop so the play store thinks you have a tablet. Careful, make sure you have a backup before doing anything.
Here's a thread at XDA on the subject: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1948558
and here's a site that lists the build.prop files for nearly every device: http://openbuildprop.scheffsblend.com/version/4.1.2
Again, careful or you can completely bork your device.

You can also download the Market Helper app. You have to download it from the devs site though cause Google refuses to allow it on the Play Store
Sent from my SCH-I605 using XDA Premium HD app
None of this works. I've manually changed the build prop to indicate I'm running a galaxy 10.1, I've used Market Helper. What I really need is the variables in which Magic 2014 is looking for in the build prop, because what I'm using keeps saying its incompatible.
I can't find ANYWHERE what those variables are. Its frustrating because I've read about many people getting the note 2 to work, but they won't disclose what settings they are using. I'm hoping someone can say:
ro.product.model=?
ro.build.version=?
Other variables?
what works with Magic 2014?!?!?!
I've spent WAY to much time trying to get this to work, it's so frustrating, and it seems so simple.

[Q] Google Play services has stopped.

Hey guys,
I'm on 13.3.2.8 and I had Google Play working but it appears that about a month ago or more Google Play Services stopped working. I figured it would "fix" itself but it never did. Can anyone please help me out with what I can do to fix my problem? Much appreciated!
There are already two threads on this. Use version 7.0.99.

Excellent! It seems the newer builds are getting better, but I tried the newest reported and it did not work for me. I am still running 7.0.99 as well.
