Okay I really really need the I9000XXJF7 firmware please please please.
If you guys have noticed, whenever you flash a new firmware update your imei number changes! Every time you update a /2../3.. or /4 adds to the back of the IMEI #. This might be a tactic by TMO to prevent people from unlocking there phones because you can not unlock a phone with firmware that has added that /2 to the back of your IMEI. The original firmware, the first one that was released when the phone just came out with TMO is I9000XXJF7 i think. I am looking for that firmware and have been unsuccessful. I found some firmware that claim to be the original but it is simply the firmware that was released with the second batch of phones TMO started selling. Can someone please help me find the I9000XXJF7 firmware.
Note: I9000XXJF7 might not be the first firmware, I really don't know for sure. I do know that people are downgrading there firmware to I9000XXJF7 and successfully unlocking there phone after unsuccessful attempts with updated firmware.
Thanks ahead of time. I have my NCK code ready and waiting.

I am sorry, the longest post in the world and I didn't mention one thing. Do you know if this is for Vibrant or Captivate? Thanks
did you not unlock the phone first, before you start flashing roms to the device?
as for ##/#/##/...they are meant for regions and what manufacture set out from. not for locking usage by T-Mobile!! Its something Samsung uses for tracking purpose. This is all I know, got info from Samsung Korea.
Hi all,
I have seen a good offer for a branded G5 from an European carrier and I was wondering if there is any known way yet to de-brand it, in order to free it from the bloatware that I suppose it will be packed with.
If not, do you think normally this would be possible within some months from release, or were there already cases in the pase where this wasn't possible ever?
Thank you very much.
Derp
Accepted... I wrote a bit careless and I can see how the request was kinda funny.
Let me reformulate... In case I find the branding too disturbing and I want to flash a stock unbranded image (which I believe is possible for European H850 even if branded by carrier, right??) then I will miss OTA and maybe won't even be able to sideload OTAs like I used to with Nexus 5?

If you remove the original firmware flashing a different one you will lose OTA, but it seems that on G4 is possibile to receive update through LG Bridge (but i'm not sure), obviously the update you will receive will always been related to your brand.
Sideload as far as i know is not possibile on LG devices, because the Stock Recovery is made for Hard Reset only.
For now it's not possible to flash firmware on the G5, but some users are working both on LGUp and Flashtool 2.0.1.6 Here

OK thanks!
I would not see the point of providing a way to unlock the bootloader from LG itself even, if then you don't give people the possibility to flash something else on it, or maybe I'm missing the point of unlocking bootloader.
(talking about Italian Vodafone or Tim btw)

With the official bootloader unlock you lose the warranty, and there is no way to recover it, by flashing a no-brand firmware on al lg device the warranty remain (exception made for us carriers maybe).
Note that with an unlocked bootloader you can flash many things (roms, kernel, mods, xposed ecc...), with LGUp or Flashtool you can only flash official lg firmware.
So, LG provides an official bootloader unlock so the users can use their smartphone's full potential, but doesn't allow to flash official firmware because there is the smartphone update center for otas, and LG Bridge fo recovering and flash the whole firmware update, and not only the ota.
So I was wondering if this is possible. My phone (running lollipop 5.1.1) is locked to a carrier but I was planing on flashing an unbranded 6.0.1 (from Italy). Marshmallow will eventually come to my country but I just can`t wait anymore. Will flashing this firmware brick anything ?? I am well aware that the phone will remain locked to my carrier, but is anything else going to be affected ? Anyone had a similar experience ? Your answers are really appreciated.:highfive:
Depends on the phone. Generally, if it is locked to a carrier then other firmwares will fail when trying to flash due to other differences such as the modem/baseband. There are exceptions, but pretty sure they are few and far between.

Where did you get the 'phone from? I suspect that C576 might be specific to Israel, which would explain your inability to find it online. An even worse possibility is if it's a firmware build specific to your carrier - in which case you're at the mercy of your carrier as to when/if updates will become available.
My 'phone (which I got directly from China) has C636 (international) firmware.
If you're interested in "re-branding," have a look at FunkyHuawei's thread - that'll help you get to an international flavour of firmware which'll separate you from your reliance on your carrier.

Can you explain a bit more about "re-branding"
Is it reversable?
Can it damage the phone/functionality?
Etc..
Thanks in advance

I have to point out that I haven't performed anything mentioned in that thread, so can only speak from what I've read in that thread and elsewhere about the process.

Yes, as long as you have access to a copy of the original ROM.

Potentially, anything you do to the 'phone which involves a screwdriver or a USB cable can cause damage. I've done a lot of reading on the process and haven't seen any stories of irreversible catastrophes, but as with everything, it's up to you to decide whether you're comfortable with proceeding.
I'd suggest you have a read of at least the OP of that thread to get an idea of what's involved, then read through replies to see what sort of problems people have encountered and how they were resolved.
I see Huawei isn't providing unlock codes anymore, so I've been researching options before purchasing this phone. Having a rooted, unlocked phone with TWRP is rather important, imho.
It looks like this person successfully used DC Unlocker for ~$4: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78665569&postcount=392
However, other people say "Funky Huawei" is the only working one, which is much more expensive: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78627440&postcount=6
I then see this post about firmware versions needed for DC unlocker to work, but for the Mate 10 "Pro" -- unsure if that also applies to the Mate 10: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/how-to/finally-unlock-bootloader-mate-10-pro-t3850111
Buying from here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Huawei-Mat...vHzekWP7zx0GEhBHmmrA:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true
... I'm unsure what firmware I'd get & I don't know how much that would matter. I'm hoping someone could help clarify: does DC Unlocker currently work on this phone, and how much trouble is it...?
Thank you!

BLA is the pro....
HUC is the one recommend in the guide u mentioned... Just a DC Unlock alternative from same developers...!
For what I read... It is about the firmware youare on... Mine is old... I think if ur security level is beyond June 2018...u can be less fortunate with the HUC... But it is just 4 EUR.... If u really want to unlock.... Try it....
Only way right now is:
HCU by dc-unlocker. This will not work on firmware after June 2018 (check security patch).
Ministry of solution, this service might come back, it's currently down and cost $30....
FunkyHuawei, expensive as hell.
You can also void your warranty by opening your device up and flash board software with testpoint. This would allow you to use HCU while on board software. This is not recommended at all if you don't know what you're doing.
Edit: Hopefully your firmware is not updated. DO not update when you get it.

It is a refurb, so warranty is likely already run out. May you point me to instructions to flashing board software with testpoint, just in case?

It's using old bootloader so chances are high, at least
You usually get a refund from DC anyway.
I just hope it doesn't complain about Security Patch date without even trying.

This guy:
https://ministryofsolutions.com/huawei-bootloader-unlock-paid-service-html
... said only 8.1.0.110C567 & 8.1.0.111(C567) is "supported" for his method, and not mine (8.1.0.120(C567))
After giving my information to global-unlocking-solutions.miiduu.com, they said "Yes, order and wait for updates to finish", which I presume is related to their "WE ARE TESTING THE HUAWEI BOOTLOADER CODES NOW: AFTER TEST RESULTS ORDERS WILL BE PROCEED" message on their website:
https://global-unlocking-solutions.miiduu.com/bootloader-unlock-codes-choose-model-below
I also presume this is the same thing that has FunkyHuawei (still) down.
I did try doing the "read bootloader code" from DC unlocker (without buying any credits yet), just to see what would happen, and got this message:
Reading bootloader code...
unknown error (375)
I assume if it was due to not having an account, it would say invalid username or not enough credits.... so I'm worried this means DC Unlocker won't work.
So, I'm kinda stuck, I guess? I don't want to use the phone, since I will have to either reset it when getting a bootloader unlocked, or "give up" on getting a bootloader code and update to EMUI 9.
Hoping for any advice...
I had 8.0.0.129 on my usa mate 10 pro with December security patch purchased 4 credits from DC logged in and was able to get my bl unlock code.
DC Unlocker support came back saying "your error means that current version of android in your device has new security patch and is not supported yet."
So, looks like I'm already past the point of no return (aka no "easy" bootloader unlock code). My best chance at getting a bootloader unlock code is via IMEI methods like FunkyHuawei if they return, which firmware & security patch version don't seem to matter. My phone apparently is covered under a warranty, which I don't want to invalidate (which unlocking your bootloader does). So, even if I got an unlock code, I'd likely not use it for awhile. Considering all of that, and the desire to start using my phone... I upgraded the firmware planning to get EMUI 9 Pie (which I'm clearly not going to get via custom ROMs anytime soon). If FunkyHuawei or the cheaper "global unlock" options return, I'll consider trying them out... :-/

You had 8.0.0.129, while I had 8.1.0.120. There are more numbers than just the last 3.
I tried DC Unlocker, and it gave me an error that everyone on the forum said means your Android version is unsupported. DC Unlocker's support said the same thing.
I'm glad you got yourself a bootloader unlock code. I wish I could have... maybe if the IMEI method opens up again (which I doubt), I'll get one someday...

Hi @ante0 / all
I note from https://ministryofsolutions.com/huawei-bootloader-unlock-paid-service-html that they want $4 (not $30)
BUT
They are also stating that "Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, P20 Lite, Huawei P Smart (These models only supported if have older firmware version)"
I am stuck with two new-ish Mate 10 Pro phones that fail with DC tools. See https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=78901016#post78901016
I'm guessing my phone has new-er firmware and that's why DC tools failing
Any suggestions?

That's only for old phones/old firmware. New unlock was here: https://ministryofsolutions.com/huawei-bootloader-unlock-service-all-new-models-new-firmwares
But it's closed. It seems to be closed for everyone now so no go.
DC will only work on phones with firmware on May 2018 or earlier (In most cases. Some custs do work on June/July but that only seem to be the case with carrier custs)
So you're out of luck...
