Problem after getting wet! - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

After splashing water on the device, the screen started to fail, after which the screen no longer lights up. I left the smartphone on uncooked rice for 3 days. Now your smartphone vibrates by holding down the POWER button.
After a few tries, it now turns on when connected to the PC, but apparently does not enter the system, an orange led notification front is lit all the time.
the pc recognizes the smartphone as a HiSuit cd drive, if I touch the biometric sensor or lift it while it is connected to the pc the screen lights up in a dark green gradient.
Can anyone help?

What we read is all good but what version of the phone do you have? Mate 10 lite, Mate 10 or Mate 10 pro?

My device is a mate 10 PRO :crying:

I washed my mate 10 pro few times before from sea salt. It should be waterproof to some extent. Did you drop it before or something?

Lol. I just thought I was on some other forum.

[Q] HTC one Multipe issues (rooted) HELP!

Ok, I rooted my HTC about a month ago. All was working fine. I did notice though in visual voicemail the settings menu (3 dots at bottom) were not there like they are on my wife's non rooted HTC One. Today with the gmail update I also noticed in gmail the settings menu 3 dots on the top right are not there.
Now the big problem. I held down the power button to reboot phone to see if that would fix issues and now phone wont come back on! Also when I plug in charger no indication it's charging, no red light.
FYI when plugging in to my PC while no red indicator sync manager does come up so it is being recognized.

Is this a joke? Regardless I tried it an nothing.
not a joke look around the threads htc implemented it so you dont get accidental button combos in your pocket or bag.

yea when battery completely dies there is no red light at least thats what other users have reported. but after leaving it plugged in to the wall not usb for a while they were able to get it back on in most cases
phone had been charged all night and was fully charged when I turned it off. then it would not turn on.

keep trying the button combo in a well lit room and make sure your fingers arent covering the light sensor
let me know if you get it or not also just holding power should work too
OP mine did the same thing just a few minutes ago. While ringing a call it just went black, and like yours, shows no signs of charging and is completely unresponsive.
I tried waking it under a bright light and nothing.
Please share any solution you find! Thanks

[Q] Broken mainboard suspicion on xt910

Hello,
I hope it's OK to post HW related questions on this forum.
I got an xt910 from a coworker which has a broken screen.
It does not make any bootup sound and is not showing internal memory when connected to a computer, only a white LED is glowing.
I suspect a broken mainboard, as the screen cracked when coworkers' daughter jumped on his lap. It did work for a while but then it died.
Can you confirm or overrule my suspicion?
Been hasty
I was too hasty to post the question.
After I posted this thread the phone vibrated and the buttons lighted up. It did not show any internal memory tho. After I disconnected and the cable the buttons stopped glowing. After I reconnected the cable, the white LED startind to glow again. It might be a case of dying battery.

Thanks for your input!
I charged the phone for an hour or so via USB cable from the computer as I don't have the Motorola's wallcharger. Instead of white blinking light it shows a green one every 3 seconds. The buttons light up for a while but no connection to internal memory.
OK, so the mainboard works!
But to retrieve the numbers and data a working screen is needed. I called a service and around here it costs 15 € to access the data.
I think the digitizer is gone. Rest would be good.
You can take backup from pc itself by building recovery. I have read somewhere but i don't know the steps..

[Q] My ZU wont switch on. Red LED

This morning, my Z ultra died on me. It wont start, no vibration, no use pressing vol + power buttons and the red switch. I was neither rooted or bootloader unlocked.
When I tried to connect it to my laptop (Windows 7), its shows as a USB device. The red LED flashes up, the computer finds it and then lets go of it again. Again in a few minutes, the red LED goes up , the computer makes the connection sound and then the red LED goes off again. This cycle goes on and on.
I cannot use SEUS, Flash, Fastboot or do anything. I have checked various forums and apparently I have not hard bricked the phone as the LED still works and the computer recognizes the problem. But no one has given any concrete solution.
When I connect it to the charger which came with the phone, the red LED pops up and then goes off again. I dont know if its charging. HOWEVER, I have used another Chinese Travel Charger, and then the red LED stays solid as if its charging. I dont know what it means.
Please help. I spent a lot behind this phone. I dont want to be left with a brick
It's not an issue if it's completely stock is it? You have your warranty, but i understand that i sucks to have it shipped in for repairs for god knows how long. I had a similar issue some time ago, but i'm bootloader unlocked and what not, so that was pretty easy to fix. You're completely stock though, so it's a little harder to do anything.
What happens if you hold VOL UP when you connect it to your computer? Does a blue LED light up? If yes, does it stay on, or does it disappear? What happens if you hold VOL DOWN when you connect it to your computer? Do you get a blinking LED and then nothing? That's normal, and it's going into Flashmode. If you can get it to stay in Flashmode you'll be able to re-flash a ROM in Flashtool. But be 100% sure to have enough battery, or else you'll be in danger of hard bricking it.
So..
- Plug the wall charger in and charge it for a couple of hours (2-3 hours)
- Try to kick it into Fastboot (VOL UP when you connect it to your computer). Look for blue LED.
- Try to kick it into Flashmode (VOL DOWN when you connect it yo your computer). No LED.
Hi LordManhattan. I dont have any warranty as I brought it from a local reseller .
Whether I press Vol UP or vom DOWN when I connect to the laptop, a red LED pops up, there is a connection sound and after that the red LED goes off and and there is a disconnection sound.
If I leave the phone connected with the computer, the phone gets connected after 2/3 minutes, there is a connection sound and then there is a disconnection sound again . Any clue what I can do :crying::crying:

just a small note or two:
Flashmode the LED should go orange, then blue then off within about 1second then it is in Flashmode
To get into either of these modes the phone has to be powered fully OFF, press the red reset button before charging to make sure, then again just before the above steps.
It sort of sounds like a corrupted loader

Have a good read of this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
It would suggest that the battery is flat. Let it charge in the wall plug for a few hours and see what happens
I have let the phone to charge overnight with the charger that came with the phone. As I said before, with that charger, the red LED would turn on and then go off again. I will hopefully try the Chinese travel charger tonight with which the red LED remains solid.
The funny thing is , the phone had about 80% charge when it died. This is so weird :'(

Have you tried the reset button under the microsd flap? Press and hold for 3 secs.
I did read another user had an issue where the screen blanked for around a day, he left it plugged in and came back to it about 6 hours later and it was fine again.

I tried that and basically all the other normal options. No use. The computer recognises it as a USB Input Device and for a second or two, the red LED comes up. Same thing when I am charging

It's a battery issue most probably. I guess it doesn't show anything. Is your battery removable?
I still have not opened my phone. I am looking at all the other options first. If everything else fails, I guess I will have to open my phone

+1 contact your local sony, i had a similar problem, no fastboot/flashmode. locked bl/not rooted and my led only flashed red and occasionally solid red then nothing. plugging it into computer continuously played the disconnecting sound.
most likely hardbricked.
i also purchased my xzu from a local BST but as long as you have your imei, contact sony and theyll tell you if you have warranty. they required me to send in proof of purchase as well but like most say "play stupid" ( i said i received it as a gift and they said it was fine)
i got a brand new XZU after a week and a half sending it in.

Thank you! One or two years ago my Z Ultra's screen cracked and I got a new phone. Decided to use it again, purchased a new screen and replaced it myself today. When I tried to move to AOSP (had root, bootloader unlocked, backup of TA partition), the phone bricked. No SONY logo, nothing. Did what you said above, Xperia Companion recognized the phone in flashmode and is now downloading the newest stock rom. I was so afraid of a hard brick, that living with latest stock without root doesn't seen so bad now hahaha
Hey Friends, I have exactly the same issue. The red led just flashes up for a couple of seconds and this cycle continues. My battery was a bit swollen up and the back glass cover opened up a bit. Still battery was working fine. Two days ago I tried nougat aosp on it and after leaving it idle for 2 hours, it was bricked. I can enter into flashmode and flashed stock LP as well as KK but it does not boots up. Is it definitely battery's problem? If yes, where can I buy original or near original battery for it?

The battery is dangerous and should be removed. Be careful because the battery can burst into flames if the bloated cell get punctured.
Use tools with caution and take your time.
Lipo cells expands as a first safety trigger. Instead of going strait to venting or venting and burst into flames.
Its a safety feature if they are charged with too high current or if the cell is drained below its 2,22 volts and is brought back to life with a normal charger that puts normal current on the cell. Then even 400mA in this scenario is way too much current to start charging a drained cell with.
But the battery should not be the issue that your phone is not booting. How did you flash stock rom? With Flashtool?

Xperia Z Ultra unable to boot

Few days ago, i wash my Z ultra under the tap like i normally do with all the flaps closed . Soon after, my vibration module stop working . I thought it was some error on the application and ignore it. Waking up the next day to find that the battery is flat and proceed to charge it. Saw the red led light up and thought that it was charging and left it be for a few hour. Came back to proceed to on the phone but it just blink 3 time and the phone never boot up.
Tried all the method take out moisture for the phone as it might be due to water sipping in the phone but to no avail. Anyone have any idea on how to fix it as i feel kinda lost now...
Gotten the phone from my friend who rooted it to GPE so i think there is no more warranty.
Any help will be appreciated.

No it does not vibrate . When i try to plug in the computer the first time, it say input driver has been successfully installed. After that when i replug in nothing pops up.
What about flash mode or fast boot mode? Have you let it sit out a day or two not plugged in? I would do that as well. Let everything dry inside.

Tried the rice method, hairdryer method to get the water out. Plug in for a full day to the wall charger . When i connect the phone to my computer or power now, only shows a red led. When i tries to boot normally or into recovery, led flash red 3 times and stop, no vibration is felt. Since i unplug from charging, i cant even see the red led when trying to boot .
Try this. Connect phone to wall charger 1st. Press and hold power button and the volume up button at the same time for 10 second. You should feel 3 vibrates. Let go and let charge for more than 2 hours. Then connect to computer and repair/reinstall with pcc. If all that doesn't work then do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2646405

Look and see when your friend bought the phone if under a year it is covered. Just play dumb. Don't tell them you washed iy.
