I have Korean Galaxy S2 (SHW-M250K). Last night i recieved an update message KI06 on kies. I started update.
But after downloading update in PC the update process stuck at 3% while flashing the phone. After an hour i removed cable and tried to do emergency update but it was still stuck at 3%.
I tried to flash KG5 with odin but it was also stuck at FSimage.I tried to download again.
Now my phone can go in download mode but PC cannot recogenize usb. and USB not recogenized message appear.
Please HElP what to do?
Is my phone bricked or there is some way to flash it.
Now my phone can go in download mode

Then you aren't bricked.
You'll need to reflash using Odin to what ever firmware you were using.
As long as you can access download mode you aren't bricked. It may be a little difficult to use odin if you never have.. But rest assured, you are not bricked.
I have ODIN mode on my phone but when i connect the USB cable to pc, my PC does not recogenize usb. and yellow pop up message of "USB not recogenized" appears. so i cannot flash it it with ODIN or Kies.
I have to solve this USB problem to proceed. Do you have any suggestion for this.

Ok
I am on my way to figure out driver problem.
But there is one more thing.
My orignal firmware was korean. But now after unsiccessfull Odin flash my Download mode Screen and "Firmware update failed" screen has changed to english version. Is there a possibility that Odin curropted my Phone modem .
Also one more thing.
I cannot charge my phone because whenever i connect usb or AC charger the computer and mobile icon with yellow mark appears.
modem has nothing to do with the language settings.
update may have changed the firmware, just go into settings, language and change it back.

Yes it can be changed but right now my phone cannot go past " Firmware upgrade encountered an error. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again" screen.
Also i cannot flash because windows is not detecting my Phone's modem correctly.
Windows does not need to see your modem to flash .

Fairly simple answer you have flashed a non korean firmware .
What is this Odin mode on the phone is it Download mode ???
Stock Roms .and csc
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
I wonder if you have the right instructions to follow ??Or are you flashing a wrong firmware .
Personally i would take to a service centre and tell them Kies broke it .

Ammm, you are flashing an incompatible rom on your phone
You should refer to the [SHW-M250*] Korean Galaxy SII M250S / M250K / M250L Users thread for advice on your phone, the firmwares posted in the link above would not work.
Be careful man

I have read all of this forum. and i have korean firmware also. but many people have converted their korean firmware to english one.
But right now i have only one problem
my phone is not being detected by ODIN or Kies because of USB not recogenized problem. I need to solve this for further instructions.
Any one has some different idea????

S6 edge stuck on opening logo of "Samsung galaxy S6 edge" - it's not mine, so I can't know the history that caused it - but I think it's related to a bad try of rooting.
when trying to flash a new stock firmware from Sammobile getting the same problem - even after wipe and wipe cache.
on recovery getting this messege on the bottom:
dm-verity vertification failed... need to check DRK first...
this is what I tried to do to fix it:
1) flashed newest stock - still no do.
2) tried to flash with smart switch - it did flash - but it didn't help - phone still in bootloop.
3) flashed S6-UniKernel_v6-0001-ODIN or S6-UniBase_BOG8_v2 - it did helped, the phone worked, but I lost the IMEI and needed a certificate to fix the IMEI, I did it and the phone works fine..... BUT I can't left it with a custom rom 'cause I want the original updates and the original stock rom.
4) tried to flash the repair firmware G925FXXU1AOCV (comes with 4 files CSC, AP, MODEM and BOOTLOADER) which is 5.0.1, so it fails (tried also with pit file) - didn't do.
5) last thing I'm willing to try - is to split a new firmware to CSC MODEM BOOTLOADER and AP by myself... the only problem is - I don't actually know how to do it.
another thing I've noticed on the download mode it is written:
Current Binary: samsung Official and System status: custom
I was wonder if someone can give me a clue what to do, and how to fix this problem.
thanks!
What country are you from? Are you sure the phone isn't on 5.1.1??
Download the firmware from sammobile of your own country or the nearest country/countries, put the device in Odin mode and try to flash that one through Odin "AP" Okay "IF IT FAILS" (copy the Odin log and paste it on this thread. If it succeeds LET US KNOW PLEASE.
Be sure of the Android version.. If that's impossible my safe bet is to flash it with a rom for 5.1.1
You shouldn't mess with the PIT files!

hey,
first of all, thanks for the replay!
If I flashed with smartswitch - then it should flash the newest rom and the one who fits for the device.
what I flashed in odin is: G925FXXU3COJ1_G925FOJK3COJ3_G925FXXU3COJ6_HOME.tar
which is Israeli firmware and 5.1.1

If it failed what was displayed on Odin logs?
If it failed, Please re-flash your device again through Odin and whether it fails OR succeeds, COPY THE LOG AND PASTE IT HERE !

Hey Ice, i didn't get your reply on ur thread sorry.
Do you have the same UniKernel as described above?
Please give me all info you have about your device and the current condition of the device (please be clear about what you can do with the device now and how you get to a certain menu such as Recovery/OdiDLmode/Smartswitch/Bootloop*kind of bootloop.)
Hope to be of good help.

Hi thanks,
have no idea about unikernel and have not tried anything with unikernel,
read someting about this somewhere else too,, something about the kernel not even loading cud be a problem?
phone is a galaxy s6 edge SM-G925F
was working fine and apparently on hungarian XEH firmware but not sure if it was on 5.02 or 5.1.1 when 16 year old kid did something or the other with it to put into bricked state.
have no idea of its previous info or condition as it was handed to me in a bricked state
only thing i can do with device is get into download mode and flash via odin...
have never ever been able to get it into recovery mode ever !!!! not even after any successful flashing
I can flash many stock files either the single tar files or either the 4 part multifirmware files
Can do flash and emergency recovery firmware through samsung smartswitch
but no matter what flash if its odin stock firmware flash or samsung smartswitch flash have never seen recovery and always can never get past the white samsung galaxy edge 6 with powered by android in white at bottom too
after succesful flashes in odin cant get out of download mode if auto reboot is ticked, only way out is to hold vol down and power. or get back into download mode then vol down to cancel/restart,
phone just never gets past that white message screen, sometimes that message will splash across screen continuouly like its turning on and off...like some sort of bootloop.... depending how i try to power/boot the phone back up again
and then sometimes it will just stay on the screen forever lit up and frozen/hanging...
strange thing that is happening now if you look at the last few attempts of flashing the 4 part multi firmware file and ticking re-partition to fix the pit files...
once i turn phone off out of download mode.... i cant power the phone/boot it up using just the power on button.
normally i assume to start the phone or turn phone on all u would need to do is hold power button.
so if phone is powered down or turned off after flash, power button alone will not turn it back on, have to go back into download mode and restart from there
i hope any of all that makes any sense at all
Here is a question for you.
When the device is OFF and you plug it into your computer, does the device then jump to the Smart Switch screen?
Btw IMPORTANT when you say that you "flash" the device through odin are you referring to the pictures on your thread where the logg states that it failed on "nand write" and once on "hidden.img" or did it actually pass after the complete flashing of all the files "hidden.img" included?
Firstly need to try this; when the device is stuck in the bootloop you have to do this.
It shows you this type of screen (1st)
http://www.pocketpc.ch/attachments/...49759183-s6-edge-bootloop-20151210_155028.jpg
(does it say kernel isn't seandroid enforced?)
Then this 2nd screen shows up
http://zidroid.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Galaxy-S5-Boot-Animation.png
RIGHT after the 2nd screen SAMSUNG LOGO disappears press volume UP, HOME and POWER you need to be VERY FAST.
Then once the (1st) screen pops up again, release the POWER then volume UP and HOME buttons.
Maybe it's possible that it'll jump into recovery, even if it does this is not the solution just a way to diagnose.
Don't worry we'll fix it!

If you have to flash it in any way to get it in a bootloop then the test isn't required! Don't do it.

This is what i gathered for you guys as a possible fix, it would work 100% if you guys didn't mess with EVERYTHING IN ODIN!
Because i have tested it myself several times.
READ EVERYTHING CLEARLY
4# When you mess with an s6 to the point that it does not turn on anymore and it only reacts until you plug it into a computer then it shows a screen "error occurred during update use Smart Switch..."
Well by that point Smart Switch mode partially takes over and you can only flash the device successfully in Smart Switch mode using Odin on the computer NOT Smart Switch.
(this knowledge will be useful later)
!!! PART 1 !!!
Here we go, follow this in detail.
STEP 1. You need to download the original Odin 3.10.6 from XDA here below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3109599&d=1420980613
STEP 2. Download the Kernel below:
http://mirror31.downloadandroidrom....nibase/S6-UniBase_BOG8_v2.tar?token=514002462
STEP 3. Open Odin on your computer as administrator.
STEP 4. Now connect your device to your computer.
STEP 5. Put your device/phone in Odin mode.
(volume down, home and power)
STEP 6. Make sure Odin has detected the device.
STEP 7. Load the Kernel in "AP" and wait 1 minute, then click START.
It should say PASS! However if it does not succeed, reboot the device and try it again in Smart Switch mode.
(It should actually pass the first try if these simple instructions are followed properly)

!!!PART 2!!!
STEP 1. Download this Firmware below:

STEP 2. Open Odin as administrator.

STEP 4. Put your device/phone into Odin mode.
(volume down, home, power)
STEP 5. Make sure Odin has detected your device.
STEP 6. Load the Firmware in Odin "AP" and WAIT a few minutes UNTIL Odin is done reading the file. THEN CLICK on START and install the Firmware!
!!! IMPORTANT !!!
1st Possibility, if Odin shows "FAIL" "hidden.img" then that's a GOOD THING!
your phone is allmost fixed.
(Let me know if that happens.)
2nd Possibility, if Odin stops at "Nand Write" you must start over, unplug your device make sure it's OFF, then plug it back into the computer in order to boot the DEVICE into SMART SWITCH MODE and then follow the "STEPS 2,3,5,6" again!
DO NOT FOLLOW "STEP 4" Leave the device in SMART SWITCH MODE. (read above "4#")
HOWEVER
If Odin shows "PASS" then DO NOT UNPLUG the DEVICE! Go get yourself a coffee your device should be perfectly fixed!
Just unplug it AFTER A FEW MINUTES and try to switch it on, if it doesn't boot up? All you need to do is replug it into the computer and see if it boots up by itself (this does occur sometimes).

I also got the "dm verity vertification failure" today, but with me it happened because I was dumb enough to flash a G920I modem and bootloader on my G925F...
So it also bootlooped and everything, and then just like what you had, it asked me for Smart Switch. But then when I used Smart Switch on it, I got firmware from a totally different country than my own (think it was from Mexico or something), as I live in the Netherlands. And it even asked me for my phone's serial number before Smart Switch went on and flashed that firmware.
So I guess they only look at the CSC or something? Anyway, after that I got it into download mode and immediately flashed the newest correct firmware, and am happily flashing ROM's again Just download your own country's 5.1.1 firmware and you'll be alright, as long as you can get into download mode

yeah... already flashed the newest for my country.. it flashes well but still stuck on logo after.
from some reason after flashing, on DL mode it shows :
Current Binary: samsung Official
System status: custom
so the system status refuses to become official. even after using the smartswitch software.
I think maybe some of the partitions in the eMMC are corrupted.

Now the problem is after the nand write started it stays a while on the cache.img and shows write operation failed(succes:0/failed:1) tried with odin v3.07 ,v3.12.10 ,v3.09 ,
v1.85, v1.3 older version does not fails but stuck on the cache.img . Downloaded firmware Germany DBT from fw.updato.com and tried downloading from sammobile but it needs premium account is there any other sites to download the firmware . And i don't know if the problem is the firmware. Why does the write operation failed at cache.img?

https://firmware.gem-flash.com/index.php?a=browse&b=category&id=8853
what does the files do in the above link ?
The main difference is that the single file doesn't Factory Reset the phone after flashing, but the 4 file firmware does factory reset and remove absolutely everything and make it like an out of the box phone.
The 4 files are called Binary Firmware which contains all the files in certain order:
Bootloader contains all the boot files
AP contains all the system and recovery files.
Modem/CP contains phone network and wifi software.
CSC contains PIT file and cache removing IMG which puts all the files in order and repairs any damage firmware has before.
Thats why they are called repair files.
Here is instruction how to flash that 4 files:

Uninstall all drivers for your device , you can use USB Deview which you can download on the internet , once you uninstalled reboot your PC and again put your device in Download mode , and Open Odin With Administrative Privilegion , put thouse f4 files in right places and click on Start .

I have been a lifelong Iphone user so go easy on me. I am trying to learn. I bought a used Samsung S9+ from a guy on a cruise and didn't know it had Google account protection. I can't reach the guy since he lives somewhere in South Korea. I know you can use the Odin tool to reload it from scratch but I can't figure out which files to get (IE. Firmware, etc) to reinstall it. It's a Samsung model SM-G965U but I don't know which firmware file and combination file to download. I know how to use the Odin tool to some degree and work in IT so I can learn this very quickly.
Can someone tell me how to figure out what files I need to reload the phone? I would prefer to put stock android on the phone and get rid of the Sprint specific OS.
Thanks in advance.
Hi! In order to install the stock firmware for your Samsung device you need to install the drivers first.
Here is a download link for the drivers https://developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows
Then, the stock firmware which can be found on sammobile. Since the site has disabled the free download for ome reasons, you have to use samfirm. It is basically a software which downloads the latest firmware for your device. Just put the correct model of your device which I guess it's SM-G965U and your region. Make sure the "auto" button is pressed.
*after chosing the right model and region, you'll have to press the download button on the right side of the program. You will be asked where the firmware should be downloaded, I recommend to download it on desktop so you will find it quickly.
Here is a download link for samfirm https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3803841&d=1467715462
Downloading the firmware it's pretty easy, so I don't think you gonna face any problems.
While you are downloading the stock firmware you should download the correct version of Odin which can be found on sammobile. You can download it from anywhere as long as the version is: Odin v3.13.3.
Here is a download link for Odin v3.13.3: https://dl2018.sammobile.com/Odin3-v3.13.3.zip
After both firmware and Odin are successfully downloaded you can proceed to install the firmware. The firmware itself it's an archive which can be opened with winrar or 7zip, you have to put those file into a folder, again, preferably on desktop and then load them into Odin.
In odin you got 5 buttons:
BL (Bootloader)
CP (Modem / Radio)
CSC_*** (Country / Region / Operator)
HOME_CSC_*** (Country / Region / Operator)
USERDATA which you have to leave it blank.
Click on each button and search for the correct file in the firmware folder. look at the very beginning of each file and you'll see BL,CP,CSC.. etc
*I recommend you to use CSC at the CSC section not the home_csc which keeps your data on the device.*
After you are done, turn off your device, push Volume Down + Bixby + Power keys for a couple of seconds and when the screen turns on leave all the buttons. when the text pops in, press Volume Up and you are in download mode. Connect your device to pc using the OEM cable, and you should see the device in odin. Press the start button and if you have completed all these steps like I said you should have your device ready after ~10 minutes.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
