Hello everybody !
Two days ago, I bought the Acer Liquid E3 (single SIM, not Duo), and after some research and a good thinking time, I went for rooting my device. I used the instructions provided on the official thread (actually, I used this simpler and french version provided by Shreps, since that's my mother tongue, but I checked that every step was the same).
I also checked that since my device is the single sim model, it wouldn't prevent the operations to go as intended. There is no clear info about this on the thread, but some guy having the same model as me didn't complain about anything, so I assumed he was able to root his phone with no problem.
As said in the instructions, I put the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99.zip file on my SD card, I installed the VCOM drivers to my computer, used SP Flash Tools to flash CWM 6.0.3.0 Recovery on my device, booted in Recovery mode (it was indeed CWM Recovery that booted), then navigated to :
install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > "UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99.zip" > Yes - Install UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99.zip
Everything seemed to go well, no error prompted and the operations ended with "Done !"
However, when I rebooted in normal mode ("reboot system now" in CWM Recovery) and checked with Root Checker, it was said that I wasn't root. SuperSU isn't installed, and when I manually look for the su binary, it can't be found neither in bin nor in xbin.
I did everything (from flashing CWM to install root from sdcard) again and again, and nothing changes. I tried to download again my SuperSU file or use an anterior version (v1.86) but it's still the same problem.
tl;dr : I tried to root via CWM Recovery, but even if no error prompts, su isn't neither in bin nor xbin.
Would you have an idea of what I'm doing wrong ? (And would be able to explain it to me in understable terms ? Even if I understand every step I've been through, I'm not very familiar with the rooting glossary...)
Also, by looking into the SuperSU zip, I found the installation script. Would it be dangerous to try these commands manually via ADB ? Could it work where the script failed (or help find the 'root' of the problem ?)
I have a last (but secondary) question : on the tuto from the official thread and its french version, it is said that I should change the name of "/system/recovery-from-boot.p" to "/system/recovery-from-boot.p.bak" to keep my custom Recovery ROM after a reboot, or the Stock Recovery would wipe it. As I failed to root the phone, I could change this file name, of course, but however, when I boot my phone into Recovery mode (unplugged from the computer), it boots directly on CWM Recovery.
It doesn't bother me as long as I have an operating Recovery ROM, but I was wondering if it was normal since I did nothing to keep CWM.
NB : I attached to this question a screenshot of the About menu of my Device, since it contains informations on my build version and maybe other things.
i want to dload my MP back to official B005 and give it my mother
unfortanely i cant get back stock recovery anymore
Windows XP SP3 detects an "Android" device but cant find a driver. i tried every package i found on my hdd and internet., even modded the inf file to include device pid/vid, then it installs but fails with error code 39. same result on a netbook with Win 8
can i somehow flash stock recovery or rom via installed TWRP 2323?
Hi, you need to go on the Huawei website and download HiSuite and install it. This provides the required driver to use fastboot. But this does not help install a dload file, unfortunately, unless you happen to know some commands that I do not know. If you do, please let me know.
After the drivers for ADB and Fastboot are installed(from Huawei, from the Google SDK, precisely the ADB Installer Utility found somewhere on XDA, or even those already installed for a different device), install the Mediapad Recovery Installer Tool (contains all recoveries) from somewhere in this subforum, then replace TWRP with stock recovery, then Dload will work again.

You mean if I root now there is not any kind of problem....
Suppose after rooting I want to update the ROM using OTA then I just need to flash the stock recovery and then I can easily update via OTA ??
Rooting will not affect the OTA Updates ??
---------- Post added at 02:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:26 PM ----------
Bro I think after rooting I will not be able to get updates via OTA because rooted cell can not get updates through OTA, even if I flash the stock recovery I will not be able to get updates through OTA because my phone will still be rooted, flashing stock recovery will not unroot the phone.
Please guide me how to receive updates through OTA after rooting step by step, If you are sure of such a procedure..

Plz understand what i say
if you want ota updates you should be in stock recovery and flash the s032 zip i shared you
It will unroot your phone
Just do it you will get ota only if it is available
Tell me your firmware version
This method is no longer working after latest update
I received the latest A6000 update (Kraft-A6000_S034_150425) 2 days back and this rooting method is not working now.
Received 2-3 updates earlier and even though I have to redo the whole procedure after each update, I was able to root successfully each time...but it is not the case now
Any help would be appreciated.

[ROOTED] Lava X81 using Magisk Manager by patching stock boot image (No TWRP)

Youtube Video Assistance:
Video Name: How to root Android using Magisk Manager & stock boot.img
Channel : Hovatek
------------------------------------------------------------
REQUIREMENTS :
(0) Unlocked Bootloader
To unlock bootloader in Lava X81 by Fastboot mode use the command
fastboot oem unlock #unlock bootloader via fastboot mode
{{{{{ NOTE: Unlocking bootloader in Lava X81 will erase all the user data. So please take a backup before unlocking bootloader. }}}}}
(1) Stock boot.img for your phone model (its best its for your Build Number / Variant ) . You can extract from the stock rom / firmware of your device (you may check our collection at https://forum.hovatek.com/forum-89.html ) OR backup from your device using a hardware box e.g Miracle Box, CM2, Nck Box Pro etc
(2) Download Latest Magisk Manager {Currently 7.3.0 (220)}
(3) Active internet connection on your Android device
(4) A windows 10 Laptop
---------------------------------------------------------
INSTRUCTIONS :
Step 1: Patching the stock boot.img
1. Install Magisk Manager 7.3.0 (220) APK on your android device.
2. Copy the stock boot.img of Lava X81 to your phone's internal storage or SD card whereever you want (Internal Storege\Dowloads is the better option)
3. Launch Magisk Manager app and check for latest updates. After the updates you will see that Magisk Manager is up to date.
4. Then, Select (Magisk is not installed. Latest 19.3 (19300)) Install > (Install Magisk) Install > Select and Patch a File >
5. Navigate to the location of the stock boot.img you copied earlier on (select Dowloads option or in my case, I used ES File Explorer File Manager), then Select it
6. Magisk Manager should begin downloading the magisk zip file for our arm64-v8a Device platform.
7. Once download is complete, MagiskManager will automatically patch the boot file and store it under
/storage/emulated/0/Download/magisk_patched.img
(Then I renamed it as "patched_boot.img" for our convenience)
Step 2: Flashing the patched boot.img
Among a variety of options to flash, I preferred Fastboot method
(0) Connect your Lava X81 one or two times to the PC (for preinstalling drivers)
(1) Boot your Lava X81 into fastboot mode.
(2) Open platform-tools_r28.0.1-windows.zip file
(3) Simultaneously press Keyboard's Shift key and Right click on the mouse, to open PowerShell window
(4) On the PowerShell use the following codes to flash:
Starting from phone's normal usb debugging mode,
adb devices #Ensures your phone connectivity in ADB (Android Debug Interface) mode via USB Debugging
adb reboot-bootloader #Reboot your phone to Fastboot Mode from ADB
fastboot devices #Ensures your phone connectivity in Fastboot mode
fastboot getvar unlocked #To check whether the bootloader is unlocked or not. It should be unlocked to proceed further
fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img #Flash the Magisk Patched Boot image file in Fastboot Mode
fastboot reboot #Reboot to the system from exiting Fastboot Mode
(5) Congrats and check with a Root checker app for root status. While checking for root status itself pop out for root permission.

TWRP for sc7731c hope it helps
hi all a have a sc7731c phone on android 6.0 and i was able to install twrp on my device
it all started when i found a stock rom on the web (Google your device for stock - rom or - firmware)
once i had the rom i started searching for a way to extract the stock recovery from the rom
and i found this tool SPD_Upgrade_Tool_R4.0.0001 using this tool i extracted my stock
recovery from the ROM ( recovery.img ) , first stage complete i had a stock recovery
taken from a rom for my phone - brand and model must be right on the stock
firmware/rom or you risk damaging your phone (DO NOT CHEAT PLZ)
ps:when you unpack the firmware/rom you should get a .pac file
ps:finding my stock rom took me several days of search.
now for STAGE 2 i had a stock recovery a needed to change it
for twrp another few days of search i came across a site
called hovatek here i found a tool to port (change) the
stock recovery to boot the twrp recovery the tool name is
[Hovatek] Spreadtrum (SPD) Auto TWRP Recovery Porter V1.0 by Team Hovatek (x86)
i PORT my stock recovery with this tool the tool creates a modified recovery on the
output folder( a few kb bigger ) stage 2 done.
STAGE 3
1- a fully working ADB, for this your best option is android-studio
2-turn on USB debuging and OEM unlock in DEV options
3-name the new recovery file recovery.img
4- place the new ported recovery.img in the adb
installation folder ( c:\platform-tools-latest-windows\platform-tools )
5-your device has to be in USB MTP mode
6-if ADB is properly installed and Windows has the correct android device
driver you should be able to use these commands using android-studio's ADB
command- adb devices
-if the device is detected a serial number apears
command- adb reboot bootloader
-the device reboots to a black screen with small white letters saying FASTBOOT mode
command- fastboot devices
-the device displays the serial number again
command- fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
- if all went well it will say successful
command- fastboot reboot
-dont remenber if it booted straight to twrp or if i had to use power + volume up
-by the way on my phone to get in the default recover its 1 second hold power
and then with the power pressed for 1 sec add volume up 3 sec and let go of both
any way it worked i hope it helps ppl with these sc7731c phones
i have twrp 3.0.0 fully working (My Model - Selecline/Auchan s6s4in3g)
tips: youtube vídeos on how to use SPD_Upgrade_Tool_R4.0.0001
the hovatek site has a great tutorial on how to use the recovery porter tool
the last part the ADB commands was a ***** as Windows did not install my device
correctly and this is crucial -install phone driver manualy/Google device/Google android device. good luck
ps: all merit goes to the developers of these tools, a great ty to them
ps: at the start i did NOT have root, the success flashing the ported twrp recovery
was followed by the installation of the magisk15.3.zip and voila twrp+root
Here is a Ready twrp 3.1.1-0 recovery for SELECLINE/AUCHAN S6S4IN3G
(WARNING)do not flash it on any other brand or model IM NOT TO BLAME
Enjoy https://drive.google.com/file/d/1n2crfK7qkEc0G5ZjsUQRD02YMNb_MLGw/view?usp=sharing
step 1 - here is a tutorial on how to unpack the rom/firmware and get the stock recovery.img https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-6236.html
ps:in the tutorial he is using na older version of the tool ,the newer versions looks exactly the same as the SPD_Upgrade_Tool_R4.0.0001
step 2 - here is a vídeo tutorial on how to use the twrp porter , it modifies your stock recovery to boot twrp https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-21669.html#.Wlcd9W4qhkE.facebook
step 3 - how to properly install android studio (aka ADB ) vídeo tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ccUcPR2Mko
PS:all credit bellongs to the wonderfull ppl that created these fine android tools thank them/donate to them if you can
Thank you for this! Followed your instructions and tweaked it a little bit. Made my own TWRP and finally my I root(ed?) my lesser known phone. My phone is rooted and I learned something. Again, thank you so much!!!

its awsome when one understands it and can do it himself, enjoy your root :good:
In the Hovatek application, you can cheat your TWRP version. I don't know if it's working on other devices instead of using a lollipop version you can use Marshmallow version.

Thanks so much man, I've been pulling my hair trying to figure how to root this thing. You're the best. Do you know if there are any roms for it? maybe ported?
Thank you so much man, I can confirm this works with myphone a5!!!!
A different phone but same chip.

fastboot doesn't work to me anyway, I don't know why but it is the truth. may u can help me?
So many thanks for you work! I'd use your TWRP as base and ported it to the Wiko Sunny 2. The only problem is that touch input doesn't work well, it receives touches all the time.
I have an E504 with android 8.1.0 go edition, I accidentally deleted family photos and I need to recover them, for that I need to root the cell phone, you can do it or do you know how I can do it or who does it?

1. Flash TWRP what is at 100% suitable to your phone
2. Download SuperSU
3. Flash SuperSU by means of TWRP
