Meizu M6 Syncing Issues - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I am desperate to get some help with my new Meizu M6 (not Note) and I am posting here as I didn't find a specific M6 help page.
Overall great phone at great price but I ran into an issue with all gmail apps not syncing after few days. Here's a screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/UkyJw47
When I bought it and set it up it all synced fine. Then I noticed delay in emails (or not receiving them at all) and saw sync was sort of stuck in progress. I've tried everything to fix it:
1) Removed google account, cleared cache rebooted;
2) Soft reset;
3) Hard reset;
4) Twice firmware update;
Nothing helps. Essentially, I only see improvement when I Factory reset - no other measures ever get me to where all items sync. Contacts are stuck most notably because they affect Watsapp as well. Watsapp contacts are also stuck syncing. And I can't keep wiping my phone every two days to ensure i'm in sync.
I spent 1 week of email exchanges with Meizu customer service but to no avail. Does anybody have any ideas how to troubleshoot this? Maybe keep a logger running so we can see what's blocking the sync or something?
Thanks!
T.

I fixed it by disablng and then reenablng the Google Contacts Sync app. Has been working flawlessly since.

Calendar not syncing with gmail

hey guys,
I've been having a problem with my gmail calendar not syncing, which is very important to me. Not sure if anyone else has this issue. It worked for about 2 weeks then stopped. I still got email, but not sure if my contacts were syncing. I tried the manual sync in Accounts and it said it was synced, but it wasn't. No phone to gmail or gmail to phone on the calendar. I set up a multiple day event (every thursday) and that was when it stopped working.
Anyway, here's how I got it working again. I went into Settings/Applications/Manage Applications, then the ALL tab. First I opened the Calendar Sync Adapter and Clear Data. (That didn't fix it, but I'm not sure if it fixed something else, but this is all the steps I took.) Next was Calendar and Clear Data. (Still no fix). Lastly was Calendar Storage and Clear Data. I'm not sure if the last one was the important one or it was a combination of all three, but that seemed to fix it. I had to re-enter all the events that were originally inputted through my phone so you might want to write those down, but now my phone goes both ways... with gmail... haha. Hope this saves someone some time.
Oh, and I'm stock 2.2.2 not rooted.
What bloat ware have u frozen/uninstalled also you could try force stopping you calender and clearing data and reboot idk if it will do ne thing but its worth a shot
I'm unrooted stock. I haven't frozen or uninstalled any bloatware. I cleared the data and that seemed to do the trick for a day. Now I'm starting to have the same problem again. I haven't rebooted since so I guess I'll try that.

Google- Sync Contacts Error

I switched to the Rezound over Christmas from the DInc, and I'm still having the same problem. I have all my contacts stored on Google. When I set up my phone, I can do an initial sync and get all of my contacts over, but anytime after the initial sync, on Accounts and Sync-> Google-> Sync Contacts, I have the red exclamation mark and a sync error. Won't resync.
I've contacted HTC a couple of times, the first time, he had me clear my Contacts Storage on Applications, again, this was like the initial sync, worked, but wouldn't resync. Called again today and he had me do a few other "clears" first, then Contacts Storage again, which worked but wouldn't resync after. He wanted me to do factory reset. Ok, I have done this in the past too, it does fix the problem.
Has anyone else gone thru this? What can I do?? This is getting frustrating, putting in a contact on my phone, only for it to be gone after hard reset and not merging with my Google acct. Please help! Thanks

Exchange Corporate email settings problem solution [JB 4.1.1]

I recently solved a real pain of an email issue I was having, and wanted to pass along the experience. I had tried searching these forums for several days, but didn't quite find my problem, and didn't find the solution all in one place. With that in mind, I'm hoping this information helps someone, even if a bit of it may be covered in other threads (sorry if so).
I had upgraded recently to JB 4.1.1, and was having a lot of problems getting my corporate/exchange email account to work. The calendar and contacts would work sometimes, and the email never got past the "waiting for sync" screen. Anytime the calendar and contacts would work, they would break after a reboot of the phone.
I also found that sometimes exchange account would stick around after it stopped working, and other times it would disappear (from the Android settings > accounts list) completely. I had set the accounts up both through the stock email app, and through a third - party email app (Enhanced Email, a good app).
I tried deleting and recreating the accounts, with varying settings (port numbers, accepting all security certificates, etc.). Later on, I went to my company's online web access for Exchange, and deleted all the mobile connections so that it would create a new connection for my current phone and ROM. I recreated the account (for what seemed like the 50th time) after that. Still no good.
The thing that made the difference: I finally read a tip somewhere to force stop the (stock) email client, and clear its cache and data. After that, the email app needed to be set up again, but email synched for the first time since I installed this ROM, and my calendar and contacts work reliably. It's been several days and reboots, and no further problems have come up.
I hope this helps someone, and again, apologies if the information is duplicative. I couldn't find it all in one place, and was really beating my head against the wall trying to find a fix.

Hi there, I think im glad i found this thread although not sure it will help with my corporate mail problem. My problem exists only with contacts not syncing from my corporate exchange account. My mail and calendar is ok just no contacts sync.
You mention to force stop the stock email client, can you advise the steps and exact name of the process? Do you mean in manage apps - All - Email ? I cant seem to stop that process its all greyed out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, due to my role i really need my exchange contacts to sync.
Cheers,
Hi guys,
My experience is different.
If you have problems to sync your email you need to clear all previous mobile connections from outlook (via outlook web access) and set up your account from zero on the device.
Quick question why do you use a third party email client? Do you have Samsung device? Got the same problem and had to move to a asop (CM10)
Samsung email client and exchange doesn't work well since the original Galaxy.

solution for me
For me what solved was a solution I found in another post here in the forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774978&page=2
In summary:
"Settings --> Data Usage --> Menu --> and check Auto Sync Data
Try setting up Exchange account again and you'll see the prompt to activate a Device Administrator this time. "

[Q] - Help Exchange sync - Multiple appointments and missing entries in sPlanner

Hi there, am looking for some help with a problem that is driving me mad !
A few weeks back, noticed that my calendar had a couple of duplicated appointments and was missing a few from that day. Wasn’t a big issue and cleared Calendar cache and resynced and everything came back ok.
However since then, it has been getting progressively worse and worse – where today I have 40+ copies of some of todays appointments and missing everything in the afternoon!
I have tried a factory reset, and am only using Exchange as the single account on the phone. No other accounts are synced at all. And email seems unaffected, just calendar.
Am on a stock-VF 4.1.1 ROM – no mods at all, with kernal 3.0.31-256827.
I’m using sPlanner as the calendar App, but have also installed the “JB Calendar” and another calendar app – neither show my correct information.
Our local tech support for Exchange, tell me this is a phone issue – but after a replacement phone – it can’t be … right?
So today, have removed the exchange account again, wiped phone, readded – and end up with duplicates within 20-30 mins of setting up account. Now tearing my hair out….so would welcome any recommendations or suggestions?
Many thanks,
C&A.
At the end of today, had 450 copies of one appointment... something is clearly not right!

Google Apps not connecting and syncing issues [Huawi u9508 4.1.2]

Hey,
I have a Huawei Honor 2 [U9508B 2GB RAM model] running EMUI B628.
I seem to be getting very strange syncing errors since my update. ALL google apps except for Play Store do not want to sync with Google, except on some very strange and rare occasions. I need to be able to access Gmail on my smartphone. It's one of my most important apps, but Gmail cannot sync properly, often staying at the Waiting for Sync screen for weeks on end.
I have tried reflashing my phone, but that was only a temporary remedy. The problem continued a mere 2 days after reflash.
Because I cleared the Google Framework Services data, YouTube is no longer connected to my account, so when I tap sign in, "There is a problem with your network" pops up a mere millisecond later.
Stuff I have tried:
1. Disable and re-enable auto sync a million times
2. Tap sync now a billion times
3. Remove account and re-add it. (I have only tried this once, but when I did, I couldn't sign in. it just said "couldn't sign in - couldn't establish a reliable connection to the server")
4. Clear the data of anything google
5. Clear cache and dalvik-cache in recovery
Is there anything else I could try? I've had this phone for just two months. I'd hate to go out and buy another phone.
Thanks!
