Google Apps Device Policy Anyone Using It? - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Anyone Using It? As I Have To Use It To Add My Campany Email Account Thats Not The Issue The Issue Is Its Necessary If You Use The "Google Apps Device Policy App" You Have To Add Password Which I Dont Want To As I Like Normal Swipe Lockscreen Please Suggest Me Can I Enable It Without The Password Or Any Other Alternatives

i figured it out
the only way to make it work without password is to decrypt your device

Gawd. I would dearly recommend you to use encryption and strong authentication wherever possible.

Your company would definitely not be happy with an unencrypted phone with no security accessing their email servers.
That's just a recipe for disaster honestly! What if you lose your phone?

As long as the missing phone was noticed immediately.....
Would be similar to having a corporate laptop with no passwords and such IMO.

I take it this is for exchange access? Use Exchained on the app store. It removes all policy requirements. I've used it for a year or more with no issues. My companies polices where a pain in my ass too...

Surely the best solution is to use Secure Folder for work related stuff?

Fingerprint scanner storing passwords for applications?

Hi all.
I am wondering if anyone knows a way to use the fingerprint scanner to store usernames and passcodes. My old lenovo laptop with a fingerprint reader did this. Basically you had to select an app and set the login credentials. Just wishful thinking? Would be really cool to use the scanner more than just an unlock device like to login into mobile applications. Not a lot of phones use the scanner but maybe someone knows a way?

Theres an app I remember, data something.... which uses fingerprint. But doesnt do what you say....would be nice though.

Bummer. This would really set this phone apart from it's competition and leave road for future devices. If anyone knows of other ways to use the fingerprint scanner besides unlocking the device, im all ears!

I think I see the app you were referring to. Datadefender by authentec. It only seems to lock access to applications, but not store credentials. The site offers an ask for mobile developers though. Ill keep digging but im no dev

You could use an app like mSecure to store info and use datadefender to require a fingerprint for that app.

Mobileiron no longer working for "unlocked" / "rooted" users.

Hi All.
I have had a rooted ROM of one sort or another within a few days of getting my Galaxy S2, and prior to that on my HTC Desire. Currently using CM10 as my daily driver. My works email was setup using the built in exchange client on the HTC and then Samsung, but for the best part of a year now our company has been using Mobileiron with Touchdown email app. I do actually prefer the Touchdown email app, and all has been working fine until this weekend.
Having been on holiday for a week I decided to catchup on some emails while sat in due to the bad weather in the UK, and so I turned activesync back on only to find that it wont sync. I cleared data for Touchdown, and allowed Mobileiron to re-download the settings, only to get an error saying I no longer have access to download settings from the Mobileiron server.
Using webmail I find that our corporate IT team have sent out an email stating that any "unlocked" or "rooted" phones will no longer be able to connect to activesync as they pose a security risk.
Is there anyway I can fool Mobileiron into thinking my phone is not rooted?
SuperSU, app settings, deny root?

Using any of the Superuser apps you could deny it root access. Go into the Superuser app and revoke its access so it can't check for root.

Thanks for your replies.
Mobileiron does not ask for root, so does not show up in Superuser. I don't know how it checks if your device is rooted?

Hmm, maybe its checking for su binary.

Microsoft Exchange Server password bypass

Has anyone been able to bypass the security requirement yet?
Sent from my SGH-I717R using Tapatalk 2
Why would you need to do that? Besides, all the settings are on the server side, so no app could bypass that.
Are you looking for an exchange app that will automatically log you in? I use Enhanced Email app and it automatically logs in, and delivers push email, and I can reply without any password.

On my old Skyrocket someone had set up a patch that would make your device look like it had a password to the exchange server but in fact you were able to disable the password on the device without any warnings.
If that's true then:
1. I want a copy of that patch to look at.
And
2. That's a mighty big security hole if true.

Maybe because Google automatically backs up your settings and Wi-Fi passwords and such? Not 100% just throwing sine ideas out.

[Q] Trying to add another Gmail account

Back when my doodle was rooted, i enjoyed the full power of adding and removing google accounts. Now on .22 of course i cant do that, though the accounts i had before are still there (huzzah).
Is there some way to add additional accounts in my situation? Perhaps via another gapp that would ask for signin (and be loadable without play services)?
Thanks in advance.
Dunno but i want a rooted doodle!

I managed to add another account through using the G+ app, I can't exactly remember how I did it but it is possible by using another google app and signing in.
If only... g+ won't run without services framework. Looking for summat that does...
