i have weird issue with the audio when using earphone
when i play game, the audio are muffled, kinda like when you got water in your ear and the weird thing is, this only happen in games.
this didnt happen in youtube and music which is really weird, everything works normal here.
also when i press recent apps and then back to the game again, the audio quality return to normal, but only last for few seconds and then become muffled again.
Anyone experiencing this?

Yes facing the same issue.
I haven't faced such issues. Have played PUBG and Asphalt 9 so far. Will update this reply if I face such problems. Probably just a bug.

No I'm on 9.6.14.0. So it's a software issue after all. I tried playing games like Batman:EW, Asphalt 9 and the lot again after reading this post. No dip in audio quality whatsoever.
Facing the same issue
Yeah. Exactly. I am also facing the same issue. It happens only in games. I tried PUBG and Asphalt 9. Audio is fine in music and video players. It happened after the last update 9.6.18.0.
Same issue here.
Sometimes I also hear some kinda static noise too the in-game voice chat is not that bad but other than that all the other in-game sounds are messed up. ?
interesting find today , under additional settings ,there is a ear buds mode , tried two earphones , one brandless , other one Westone both not detected , tried mine AKG headphones finally detected ,weird i think the type of male jack has something to do with it to work properly?

It's a 9.6.18.0 specific bug as far as I've seen on the forum. Can anybody confirm using 9.6.18.0 and not facing any audio issue? I miss PUBG

Recently, I flashed the latest "CyanogenMod 7.1-cooper-KANG-RC1 Android 2.3.7" into my phone. After that , everything was okay. But after a few days, I started to notice a sound difference after the flashing of Cm7.1. When one of my friend called me, the ring tone was playing with some krr..krrr.....sound. It was slight. And when I played the music also, I noticed some unusualness. Does the "CyanogenMod 7.1-cooper-KANG-RC1 Android 2.3.7" make any changes to the sound?
If you play around with DSPManager that would explain the music problems but there is a possibility of you damaging your speaker by playing excessive noise on it for long periods of time, ive done it before What kind of irregularities do you notice in sounds?

Sometimes it gets a clash while playing music....like its not expressed greatly, but a small ensharpening or I don't know how to tell it. A kind of slight clash or sharpening of the sound.
yeh...a kind of sharpening i think. Will it damage my speaker? And its shown more when I put the headphones and Volume 100%. So I think its not hardware problem.

I used to get that too but its gone for me now. Its a software issue and no those noises wont damage the speaker luckilly But I am not sure on the solution on fixing it. For me it just went away one day

U mean music lag?? Sumtimes wen i play music and keep d fone facing d ground, music lags.
CyanogenMod 7.1-cooper-KANG-RC1 Android 2.3.7
Dta2sd: enabled
8gb class 2 + 1gb ext4 partition
So just seemed to start... My headphones and ear piece are fine during a call or whatnot, its mainly the phone speaker it self
On YouTube vids n music with no headphones. Its almost a whisper, which is weird cause I didn't reflash anything, and it worked
Less then a week ago if I do remember correctly. Any advice? Is this a radio problem??
It would probably be best asking this question in the viper thread itself.
Greetings.
Just bought the Z5C. Phone is awesome, but when I play anything over the speakers (incoming call, music, etc.) the volume is good for about a second, and then it turns very silent.
Anyone experienced this, or knows something about the issue?

Hey! I had this same issue for the first day that I had the phone. It was driving me crazy. What drives me even more crazy is I don't what I did to fix it. I am not entirely sure, but I noticed a difference after pairing the Z5C to a bluetooth speaker for about 30 minutes. When I unpaired and went back to the speakers on the phone they were substantially better. Hope this helps...

I was trying different things on my phone and decided to factory reset it. After it rebooted the same problem is back. Low volume for second, then super quiet. I tried replicating the same process I thought somehow fixed the issue before and it didn't help. I've tried messing with all the audio settings, toggles here and there but nothing seems to fix it. I wonder what this might be and why the phone all of a sudden started working like it should last time. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi, I had the same problem with lower sound from speakers after 30 seconds. After disabling "STAMINA" the speakers are very loud. And if you put "Audio settings" to "standby aktive" you could even activate "STAMINA" without speaker loudness problems
Yeah happened to me yesterday as I was listening to the Radio app while on a walk. Went from relatively loud to super low quiet. I thought maybe I pocket bumped the volume or something.
Same problem. In my case, I noticed audio almost stops from one of the speakers (sometimes the top one, sometimes the bottom one, wich indicates it may not be a hardware issue). Happens on games, music, videos, or calls with the speaker on. Seems to be random.
searching for this problem (this is also happening to me (mostly top speaker while i playing and mostly games
is only one speaker(top) for me not 2 speakers
(maybe the heat? if im not the only one is hardware or software? ) it was at 5.1.1 so updated to 6.0 still the same.. maybe speaker wont working well while heated? tried to shake the device thought maybe something loose connection inside

Hey everyone, I have the T-Mobile version of the galaxy s9 plus. The past few days I've come across something really weird... sometimes while im watching a video or listening to music or playing a game, basically everything that involves sound, there is a weird static, crackling noise. At first when it happened I though my headphones were screwed because they are kinda old, but afterwards realized that its the phone in general because both speakers make the same noise. I tried bunch of things in the audio settings to see if maybe dolby atmos was the issue or whatever but nothing fixed it. It is really really annoying because it happens frequently and it sucks while im listening to music at work or watching netflix or anything like that. Just wondering if any of you guys have any fixes or have seen that issue or experienced it. Thanks in advance.

I am also having sound issues. Mine, however, are bit different: sound coming from headphones is distorted, muffled as if it was coming from inside of a box. No matter the sound source (Spotify, YouTube, mp3 on the phone).
Interestingly enough, after I restart the phone, sound is back to normal... For 20 seconds <,<
Speakers are fine though.
Mine is on PHN firmware

I'm also having issues with sound on my S9+, Exynos version. I've hade mine for a few days and discovered the first evening that there was some annoying static noise when I played some videos I had shot with the camera. I immediately called Samsung support and the advice I got there was to reset the camera app and shut down the phone for about 2 minutes and then restart it. That seemed a while to have solved the problem until I tonight discovered that the sound came and went from some other video clips I had shot tonight. I have now made a factory reset of the phone and will see if that was sufficient or not . Besides this I haven't experienced any other issues. What I however fear is causing this is Dolby Atmos , but I may be wrong of course. In worst case I'll have to return the phone if this problem continues.

Wow... well please follow up here if resetting the phone fixes the issue, so I can try it too. I also realized the past few days that I have a wi-fi issue so the phone just doesn't stop with the problems Whenever im on Wi-Fi and I go on any social media app like facebook twitter youtube etc my wi-fi cuts off showing there is no internet... and I know its not a problem on my end because I have many people connected and they are all using the wi-fi fine...
I had the exact same problem with mine, but it only started happening after putting an ad card in., when I took the sd card out, it fixed itself and I haven't had a problem since, so try that. If it works it works, if not it was worth a try
This issue sounds like a rising case for a recall. Send it back to the service center.
have a similar issue but mine is a little different, when i only play music it works fine, but the minute i start a game for example words with friends 2 the crackling noise starts. If i minimize the game the sound is gone.
Currently having the same peoblem with mine. Any tips on how to troubleshoot?
Same issue on my Verizon s9+
I have the exact same problem on my Verizon Galaxy S9 Plus. But it only happens with Dolby Atmos on. The crackling sound and static goes completely away and never happens when I have Dolby Atmos off.
Did anyone have and solutions for this as I'm having a similar issue with the Note9 and have had the issue on two handsets.
I've got a weird issue with the sound on my s9+. Every now and then the sound will dip as if a notification has arrived, except it hasn't. Does it in all apps.

Sold the phone that same week. Samsung's customer service is appalling. They couldn't fix it and wouldn't replace it. Never again.

Wow. That's too bad. Hopefully you're much happier. I added the warranty to this one so I'm hoping they will exchange it.
