Hey guys. I'm sorry if this has already been posted, but I've searched everywhere on the internet and could not find this same problem. No troubleshooting tips helped either.
I own a Lenovo P2 and until recently I could connect to the PC via USB without any problems. Now, my PC doesn't recognize the phone at all. I mean that it doesn't even show up as faulty device or searching for drivers.
With no computer does my phone connect anymore.
The USB cable is not faulty either, nor the PC USB ports and the phone's jack, and the option for MTP is selected. Despite all this it only charges.
Here is the catchy part as the USB configuration setting seems bugged out for me. No matter which option I choose, MTP will show up as selected, yet the phone will only charge.

I've been trying to share internet with my SGS2 to my girlfriend macbook air with no success.
I installed kies and driver (via kies internal menus) but when I plug the device with the usb cable nothing happens on the computer.
I tried with or without MTP mode, but nothing happens, even kies doesnt shows any device connected.

Can anyone help?
I am a newbie to Android, but a bit of a pro with IOS!
My Brother in Law has been passed down a Galaxy S II by his Father, and want's it unlocking to all networks, so once again I have been dragged in to do it as with anything tech related.....
I have read the forums and understand how to root and unlock etc., but here is my problem.
I can't connect the phone to the PC in any way, shape or form.
It is locked to T-Mobile and is model GT-I9100 on 2.3.3 Gingerbread.
It won’t connect to Kies, Odin, or show up in explorer as a USB device etc. I have tried the suggested methods of debugging mode etc., tried various cables, different PC's, drivers.
I believe the fault is the phone, as if I plug my friends S II in Kies see it right away and installs drivers no problem, however they and on version 4.x.x.
The phone will charge via PC USB and also when I connect the cable it brings a screen up showing a USB plug and says MTP Application at the top and says connected, press the home key to quit Kies. But other than that nothing.
I also tried to update the software from 2.3.3 to the latest software via Wi-Fi from the phone, but again it gets as far as connecting to server for about a minute then just says connection failed.
I can only think it either has a software corruption or a faulty dock connector? Or perhaps I need drivers compatible with Gingerbread 2.3.3 and Windows 7.
Any help please!
I'd be replacing the USB board/port; quick/easy/cheap (~US$15) to do - search for KeithRoss39's guide in the General sections, has all the info you need.
Thanks for the reply.
Just had the back off and gave it a good clean, but no joy, so that may be the next step.
However when I connect the USB cable from the PC to the phone, the phone does pop up the MTP USB Application image on the screen.
But it isn't detected by PC at all.
Any ideas?
Yes. Replace the USB board/port. It often will show only a few faults (like you're seeing) rather than crap out completely. This is what I would do if I was in your situation.
As @MistahBungle says.....these ports do fail......
There are a number of specific connectors within the port.....each one controls a different function. So it IS possible for the port to remain functioning for charging while failing for PC connection (for example).
There really is no other option than to replace the whole port/board assembly.........

Hi, when I connect my Poco with USB cable to my computer the installation of the drivers are ok, windows found the device.
But when i open it the Poco's window is completely white and empty: no files, no folders...there is not the SD card...
I would like to transfer flies from pc to phone by USB connection but it seems impossibile!!
The error message is: "the device has stopped responding or has been disconnected"
P.S.
Debus USB activate, windows 7
Did you change USB connection mode from charging to transfer files? You know, after tapping on notification appearing after USB connection?
Another issue (encountered by me), even with correct connection mode, Pocophone device in Windows 10 (maybe in Windows 7 is the same) remains empty if connected thru an additional USB3 hub. Direct connection to one of USB ports in PC case works flawlessly.

Don't know why...but works!!
Thank You so much!! :good:
I am using usb cable to connect my phone to laptop but the phone doesn't show any transfer notifications. My device only charges.
I tried uninstalling usb drivers and reinstalling them on laptop which didn't work.
I used the same cable on other laptop and it worked fine.
Is this the fault of my laptop or my device? Can someone provide solution to it?
If it works on a different laptop it sounds like your laptop is the issue. What make and model is it, and running what OS?
Hello everyone,
I am having an issue with my Motorola Edge Plus that I hope someone can help me with. Whenever I try to connect my device to my laptop using a USB Type-C to Type-C cable, it is not detected by my laptop. However, the phone does charge when connected to the laptop.
I have tried several troubleshooting steps, including:
Trying a different USB cable
Enabling USB debugging and changing USB preferences
Checking my laptop's USB port and trying a different one
Installing device drivers
Checking for software updates
None of these steps have worked so far. When I try to enable USB debugging or change USB preferences on my device, those options are greyed out and cannot be selected.
I would really appreciate any help or suggestions on how to resolve this issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem with their Motorola Edge Plus? Is there anything else I can try to get my device to connect to my laptop?
Thank you in advance for your help

The USB preferences menu is just disabled and only accessible by the search, which doesn't change any setting.
