So I got invited to a beta test... - Huawei P20 Lite Questions & Answers

I have the Huawei FUT app on my phone and I got invited in a beta test called "GMS beta activity" and I signed up for it but for a week or so I have been stuck in "phase" 1 with the message "Your application of signing up for the project has been submitted, please wait for staff to deal with" and I'm sitting here thinking why their staff are that damn slow in reviewing applications for their beta projects... Jokes aside, has anybody else here applied for the beta test and if so, have you received confirmation that you are in?

Decideing to go to Google I/O 2011

Title says all. Can anyone tell me anything about it(if you have attended) besides that its expensive as all hell. Like is there any requirements to attend or is it open to anybody that can afford it?
How expensive is it? lol I'd love to go.
I/O is more of a development conference than anything else. You can still access the live blogs on some tech sites.
It was 400 for registration last year. But I do believe all the people got a n1 for registering

Yeah that's the thing... didn't they give free white evos out last time?
Yea I do believe so... I'm not certain tho because I have yet to attend.

My husband and I went to Google I/O 2010. We were both sent Droids in the mail before the conference and both received a black Evo while at the conference. All of the phones included a free month of service. If you sign up during the early bird registration, you save some money (last year it sold out during early bird). Google gives out other freebies like socks and shirts too. They also had breakfast and lunch all days of the conference and dinner (with alcohol!) at the party. I think it's well worth the money. We stayed in California for the whole week and took full advantage of Groupons for dining and entertainment. We will be going back in 2011 because it's an awesome experience and well worth the money. If you really want to go, I would just set aside the money in advance so you don't have to worry about the whole cost at once. We paid for our conference tickets the week they went on sale, the plane tickets the next month, hotel the next month and set aside money for everything else during the other months we were waiting to go. It's a really incredible experience!
Around when did the early bird registration start? Really interested to go, want to bounce some ideas
My receipt was dated 1/14/10 for last year
I checked my receipt for Google IO 2010 and it is dated January 14th. I am sure I registered within a week of the announcement. I would expect to see registration announced and open shortly after New Year's. Put money aside now as it will sell out VERY fast. Last year it sold out during early bird registration period.
Does anyone know where to get tickets for the Google I/O confefence 2011? Thanks

to the people that went to IO last year, are you developers or just people that wanted to go? if you are the later, what were your thoughts on the actual conference? is it worth it for people who don't develop?
Should non developers attend?

I am not a developer per se, and I went last year. The swag in and of itself makes it worth attending. Additionally I had an amazing time attending the Android workshops and in the area where all the various software companies had their displays (I got a square reader for example). I will be registering as soon as early bird registration opens, I already have purchased my flight tickets. If you are as much a phone geek as me I would strongly recommend attending.
I can't wait
I know I can't wait to go to GOOGLE I/O this year, when is registration?

Student Registration
Hey Question!!! how does the student registration work... when you get there is the only thing you have to show is a student id, also do students get the same perks that the full fair paying paticipants get...ie gifts...lol
My perspective on Google I/O
Google I/O is the conference to go to for all Google's developer tech. Not just Android, but Google TV, Chrome, GWT, etc...
As a European I have to say the cost is very low. Java One last year cost $2000 - that's $400 a day. An open source conference in London this spring is charging the equivalent of $500 a day. I can fly in to SF for a full week, stay in a nice hotel, go to Google I/O and spend less than the cost of a week's training in the UK (yes, I know I/O is only two days).
Devoxx is similar in approach - a fantastic value conference in Belgium that from a training and development perspective is a no-brainer. I'm a freelance consultant so I don't say this lightly - when I'm training I'm not earning!
If you're interested in going then you need to keep an eye on the Google Code Blog (googlecode) at blogspot (I've not enough posts yet to insert a URL) or the twitter feed 'googleio', which just yesterday said that registration would open this month. See you there!
Can anyone give me some feedback/justification on the android information at google io?
My company is willing to send me if it is worthwhile, and I need to find out as much about it as possible.
Is this the best conference for android developers to go to? Is there a better one?

well i mean no one has more knowledge on the android system them the people who developed it? ive never been to one, but by the sounds of the people posting, it seems like it would be very worthwhile. if i wasnt a poor college student, i think that i would sign up to go.
Edit: just saw the student price.... now I'm for sure going
I'll be there this year. =)
I made the decision to go after seeing the swag^H^H^H^H conferences from last year. Money is budgeted for my daughter (student) and I to buy tickets as soon as they open up.

[INFO]Official ASUS Announcement - New Forum Support

Hopefully this thread will not get closed quite yet.
5/22/2012 Update -
Sorry for the delay, tried not to die from pneumonia last week after a relapse. I will start answering general questions again today and forwarding CSR events to the Service Team. Good news is that we have hired a full time employee to assist our Tablet owners in the Android centric forums. His name is Tien Phan and he is available here under the user name Asus_USA. He is part of our new Customer Loyalty Group and will be taking over forum coverage and assisting our valued customers. I will still be around, especially to handle technical problems and coordinate with Engineering until Tien is completely up to speed. However, as always, if you run into a problem that is not solved by our Service Group please feel free to contact me.
MOD EDIT: This is an information thread for the official ASUS community managers.
As the time showed us these threads tend to become a huge mess of complaing, offtopic, flaming and trolling.
That's why we try something new here:
This thread remains open, so Asus can update it
However, any post not made by Gary Key or Asus_USA will be deleted.
You can complain about the Prime in all the other complain threads.
Lets hope it works better this way.
5/31/2012 Update -
We are working on another release with updated code from NV/Google that addresses ANR events , battery life drainage and a few other items. I will be in Taiwan next week to discuss finalizing this version. I have sent it out to a few beta testers and so far the results are excellent. As soon as I have an update on the release it will be posted.
Tf201 .28 fota
The .28 Firmware will be available this week to address ANR issues and unlock a couple of new features. I will start beta testing of the next firmware release with specific Browser performance enhancements this week.
6/19/2012 Update
.28 Firmware - Please clear your browser and system cache after performing the FOTA plus a full shutdown and reboot. It might clear up a few issues as the browser code and thread priority has changed.
.28.5 Beta - I am going to open up this beta to a few additional owners.
1. Must be on a US release.
2. Must not be unlocked.
3. Must not leak the build and we need feedback.
4. Let me know if you are interested.
Side Note - Traveling this week so responses will be slow.
Please remember to include a valid email address and unit serial number in any PM sent to me or it might not be answered. It is hard to tell spammers from actual people in need without an email address and serial number.
Other Subjects -
1. Still working on getting NVFlash released for unlocked users but this is not our decision since we do not own the software.
6/21/2012 Update
Alright, I received several hundred requests for the next beta. Thank you for all the responses and offers of assistance, it means a great deal to us that users want to assist. I am going through the list now and will start sending out links late tomorrow for the latest beta update.
6/25/2012 Update
Hi,
I thought we had another beta release coming over the weekend so I held releasing the 28.5 but it turns out we will proceed with it. I will start submitting download links tomorrow morning to about 30 users in the first wave.
Sincerely,
Gary
7/2/2012 Update-
I expect another beta shortly based on results with 28.5. I hope we can make this one a wide spread beta release.
Update -
I have been traveling the past week. For those messages not answered or forwarded to Tien, I will start answering in the morning. Hopefully, we will have another beta ready for the TF201 and TF300 this week concentrating on I/O performance.
Jelly Bean Update Status - News Post
Dear valued ASUS customer,
At ASUS, one of the key commitments we make to our customers is a relentless drive to deliver the best user experience. We constantly strive to achieve this goal through our ‘Design Thinking’ philosophy that includes regular software and firmware updates for our products.
We are pleased to announce that many of our tablet products are scheduled to receive an update to Android 4.1, Jelly Bean. The ASUS Transformer Pad, ASUS Transformer Pad Prime and ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity are all scheduled to receive Android 4.1 updates in the coming months. We will provide further guidance on our expected timeframes for these updates near their release.
We are still investigating Jelly Bean updates for other devices, but we are not in a position to confirm whether any other products will be eligible for an update at the moment.
Thank you for your continued support.

Jelly Bean Update Status
Hi,
Jelly Bean is in beta testing and/or qualification approval on the various Transformer Pad models. So expect to see it start popping up in the near future. I do not have an exact release schedule for all the units except to say it passed qualification testing on one unit already so expect to see it shortly. Hopefully the roll out schedule will continue at an expedited pace on the other Pads. I will update the schedule as soon as I have further information.
Sincerely,
Gary
Seems Asus doesn't use this thread anymore.......

Latest 2022 JoyUI 12.5 Android 11 update on Black shark 2 Global SKW-H0

They said that we will get the Android 11 update in the 3rd quarter of 2021. Hope they release it soon but recently contacted the black shark team. they said the JoyUI 12.5 Android 11 update on Black shark 2 Global Under Development ....
after that I am sure they are treating us ****tly. Samsung released android 12 today on their S20+ phones officially. And we are on a wait till the world ends.
wtf until now its still in under development grrrrr
At least give us a beta test link or give us joy UI 13 with android 12
I am getting so sick and tired I'm going to email black sharks and ask for a refund on my phone
But how can we ask about a refund when the Warranty is Done
I was joking about the refund but I guess if enough people started complaining to corporate go to the their websites and start complaining I guess
But I guess we might as well write this phone off on getting any further updates because the new covid outbreak it's this phone will be way too old for them to even care
I think they willl update the device to android 11 but when I think it will in 2rd or 3rd quarter in the year
i think android 11 is last update for BS2
Yes but there a 30 % because someone smartphone companies will update to 3 years or more
Recently I've been facing an issue with my BS2. My phone is restarting itself. In the last 1 hour , it restarted twice and takes about 10 min to start again. Anyone facing a similar issue?

Is anyone interested in beta testing?

The other day I received a mail from watchdog.dev They released Watchdog Anti-Virus Beta and looking for Beta testers. I will test their product to see what they have done. I wanted to share this opportunity with others as I believe they are also going to give some long term license keys for the beta testers.
If anyone is interested in testing Watchdog Anti-Virus, they can fill out the form via https://watchdog.dev/anti-virus-beta/
