Hello everybody,
I been using different dialer apps over the years like
DialerOne
True Dialer
DialerEx
What I always enjoyed about them is how they (in the call history) combined the calls by x contact and showing each person only once (last time... And I can go in for all their calls) and not each time they called shown separately....
Now that I once used my friend's iPhone I saw how it's phone app shows all calls from apps like whatsapp, messenger, Viber,... All in the same call history list.
Is there any good dialer app for Android that has this integration feature??
Help would be appreciated. Thank u in advance

Hey all. I really hope this is the correct forum.
I am doing some research at the moment for University and what I am trying to do is to monitor / log all communications over an android device.
For example, I want to get the following data.
User X wants to communicate with one of their contacts, User Y.
How may phone calls, voIP calls, text messages, emails, facebook messages, whatsapp messages etc does User X send to User Y.
The call logs, sms, emails etc are not an issue but I've ran into a wall trying to figure out how to find out this same data from applications such as Whatsapp and Viber. Whatsapp is an application which uses the phones data connection to send messages and Viber is a voIP app.
I don't need any data from the phone call or message itself. I just need to record the frequency of calls and messages to particular users.
Would anyone have any advice regarding this, it would be very much appreciated.
edit: Oh and I am looking to code this. I am not looking for an already created app.
Does anyone know, how to let the charm call indicator (ID C100) glow maybe from inside an app?
It glows only upon receiving SMS or Calls but not Whatsapp or GMail.
My only idea is to call myself trough an app after receiving notifications, but this is cumbersome.
Any further ideas?
If i remember correctly, there is a setting in settings that shows up when you connect the charm. You should be able to adjust what lights it up.
in this menu, you can only enable the charm for calls and SMSes, but not for any other apps like facebook messenger, whatsapp messenger or gmail...
edit: now I'am trying to "simulate" an incoming SMS with an SMS_RECEIVED broadcast.
Charm Call Indicator for Rhyme or Rezound
I have written an app for the HTC Rhyme (Rezound should also work), that informs you through the call indicator charm when you receive a notification from WhatsApp, GMail, ebuddy XMS, Facebook and Google Talk.
If someone is interested, please contact me.

Will that work with other htc devices?
Did anyone get the App from ´keksberg´?
Would like to have it, too.

I'd be interested to know if such an app would allow for the use of the same charm on an HTC One S.
Charminator Android App
Hi,
I am very sorry I neglegted this forum and this thread, but I am very busy with my studies.
I have attached the most recent version of my so called Charminator.
Here is how it's exactly working:
The service uses the Android Accessibility Framework and is observing notifications in the notification bar (so there is currently no reaction on WhatsApp's popups).
IF these notifications are generated from WhatsApp, Google Talk, ebuddy XMS, Facebook, Facebook Messenger or Google Mail (sorry, that is hardcoded at this moment)
AND IF the screen of the phone is turned off
AND IF the services is activated by the widget, the services gets active.
Now it emulates the receiving of a SMS by sending an "android.provider.Telephony.SMS_RECEIVED" Intent, which turns on the Charm.
After that it tries to delete the seemingly received SMS from the database (here the "read sms" and "write sms" permissions are needed).
The Charminator is developed for Android 2.3. I'm sorry I cannot test the Charminator on Android 4.0, because I have no one with a Rhyme with ICS around me.
A confirmation, if it's working, would be great =)

Hi keksberg
I installed your apk on my HTC One S (Tmo).
Install went fine.
I understand it is meant only to add to the list of applications of those phones already working with the charm's basic functions.
Previous to this installation, attaching the cahrm to my One S crashed the phone.
Although the charm still doesn't work at all on my phone for calls, SMS or anything, since I installed your app, it no longer crashes.
I still cant use the charm, but thought this was an interesting development.
Thanks!

just tested the apk .. nop not working on ics.. installs right... accessibility enabled.. widget activated but only lights up for call and sms.
I have Sprint and an integrated google voice number. I also have a tablet I use to send/receive GVoice messages. Problem is, only the received messages will show up on my phone...any message sent through GVoice isn't there. Ps, I understand WHY, just looking for a way to get around it.
Is there any app/technique available (searched FOREVER) that will allow my phone to sync up with the sent messages from GVoice? Essentially, I want to be able to have a gvoice only conversation on the tablet and have the same conversation show up on the phone.
Thanks!
Bump. Have an app that can send GV from the native SMS system.
GV Intergration
But I cannot get GV messages received in the native message app without forwarding the text through the proper SMS phone number. I thought there was an an option for this in the GV app, but it doesn't seem to make a difference for me.
I just emailed the developer of the GV Integration app asking if he had any ideas on how to do this. Unfortunately, the Google Voice app is the only one I've found that will sync messages instantly (or at all). I SMS a *lot* from my laptop browser via google.com/voice and the Google Voice chrome plugin.. so it would suck to only see one side (incoming) of the text thread.
I'll definitely let you guys know if I find anything.
damnit google.. open up the freakin api already.
Also.. if you do use the Google Voice app.. there's an app on the market called NotifierPro that works with the Android Google Voice app to display popups of incoming text messages... which is convenient.
You can send text mesages with GVI, then have them forwarded back to your phone. That would work if you have unlimited inbound texts, but it cuts prepaid texting in half, which is nice, but could be nicer.

Well, I'm glad others have an interest in something like this too. I've been using mysms recently...it's by no means reliable and it relies on your phone to send/receive (unlike GV) but it works ok for now. Mighty text works better as far a reliability goes, but is terrible with the tablet browser, doesn't support notifications, and still relies on the phone...still not GV. I guess we'll just gave to wait.
Argh...the GV integration app ALMOST works. It might just be a matter of getting the settings right. Messages sent from a Google Voice web browser get integrated into handcent (Usually after you receive a message). I just keep running into problems with duplicate messages, not getting notifications from handcent (messages still show up), etc depending on the settings I choose between the GV/Handcent/GV Integration apps.
SO frustrating...has anyone had better luck?
Looking for a way to keep text sent from the browser and tablet synced with my phone as well. Im using Sprints GV integration as well.
I know this thread is old but for anybody that finds this post you should know that cm10.2 roms have voice+ which integrates messages sent from a computer to your phones message store
Wow thread resurrection! Yes it's awesome. Been using it since Koush came out with Babel. Recent nightlies though, receiving messages has been spotty. Are you using nightlies and or are you seeing this too?

For anyone else, the app Sliding Messaging (on play store, or if you search xda) just added Google voice integration.

I am looking for a way to access my second Google Voice number from my Android phone. (I have one GV# for Work and one for Personal)
On my iPhone I use the Official Google Voice app along with GV Connect: http://goo.gl/6Mh9E to use both Google Voice numbers at the same time. I am looking for something similar to GV Connect for Android.
Currently I use the following 4 methods to 1. View SMS 2. Send SMS 3. Make Phone Calls. 4. Recieve SMS notification on an Android Phone.
1. To View SMS: I created a widget of the Google Voice website that I use to view messages in the Chrome Beta. (Also forward SMS to my Gmail and have a custom notification for the SMS Label I created in Gmail.)
2. To send SMS: I use Group SMS & Scheduler http://goo.gl/Vtwpo.
3. To Make Calls: I use GooveIP http://goo.gl/iTczt
4. SMS Notifications on Phone: I set forwarding of SMS messages on my secondary Google Vocie number to my gmail. Then created a Gmail label for all SMS messages to a particular label and skip my inbox. I then setup a custom notification sound for this folder so that I can get notifications on my phone.
There has to be a better way than this. I find it hard to believe that an iPhone is head and shoulders above Android when it comes to using Multiple Google Voice numbers.
Bump...
Edited details for sms on second number.
Every time I get a new Android phone I end up looking for a solution to this issue. I started looking for a solution to this issue when I got a Nexus One in January 2010. This is the number one reason I have stuck with an iPhone over the past few years as it allows me to use two different Google Voice numbers on the same device. The fact that I have been writing that last sentence for over two and a half years boggles my mind. I cant believe Google has not come up with a solution to this problem and even more surprised that so few third party developers have taken up the task.
With that said I am currently using the following solution.
1. To Make Calls: I use GooveIP http://goo.gl/iTczt
2. for SMS I am using SynerGV http://goo.gl/4nKkc
Both of these solutions are "good enough" however they are far from great. Still looking for a single well written app to use with my secondary Google Voice number.
It is a mystery to me how it is possible that an app for this has not yet been created. I would think it would be a lucrative project. I would pay just about anything for this application its the only reason my iPhone is still my primary device.
GrooveIP is great app but rather than buying SynerGV for sms, select the option to push incoming text messages to your gmail account then reply in your default browser using GV mobile site (google.com/voice/m). Its simple and free. I don't know why Google does not see the profit in having 2 numbers on 1 mobile number then having multiple accounts for its voice app. I would definitively pay the fee but anyway I hope this helps.
I've been using Skype for ages, but recently it does its jobs poorly.
A lot of time I receive notifications late, it does not ring, and I completely stopped getting any new messages in one of my group chats, which led me to miscommunicate and fallback to Facebook Messenger. That's just to name the recent issues.
I am looking for a descent widely used replacement, that people would consider reliable. I can really type my emojis by hand. Any suggestions?
WhatsApp
Most of ppl I know use Viber. it's more pollished app, but development for win10mobile is stopped, there is no black mode for viber so it will drain more of battery, so use WhatsApp .
