sound boost? - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

I have huawei mate 10 non pro c140
Rooted with magisk and working twrp
Which file should I edit to boost my speaker and headphone
There is to 2 threads in XDA talking about 2 different files to edit
1./odm/etc/audio/hi6403/mixer_volumes_ALP_ce.xml
2.system/vendor/etc/default_volume_table.xml
Which one should I to edit to increase or where is the right file
I did try both files with right permissions but there is no difference!!
Thank you

I just use am app. Boosts Bluetooth sound too if you need it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=super.high.volume.super.loud

[HELP] bootanimation w/ sound

I found this smoked glass animation and applied it with root (no roms) by just replacing the stock one in /local/data folder and works well but want a sound I picked out and don't know whether the stock kernel supports sound.
If it does, could you guys help me out? I don't know how to mod the .desc.txt file...
I will look when I get home.
Files should be in /system/media though.

I tried making you files to copy and paste into your system. It was fine, but the audio clip is crap, and you can barely hear it. When I converted it to mp3, (which by the way was your problem.........need mp3 or ogg), and added gain, it about blew my speakers because you have a nasty sound which sounds like someone putting a needle on a record at the start.
Thanks a lot for helping

Not to annoy anyone.... But, could anyone tell me how to make it find the sound file?

I would download a boot animation with sound, and one without sound, then extract both of them and look at the file structures for each. Open the desc.txt file on both and compare them. You will find the main difference is that the boot animation with audio has an audio file in the zip file, and is called up in the desc.txt file.
Best to use 7-Zip.
When zipping your files back up to create the bootanimation.zip, you need to set 7-Zip to:
Archive Format = zip
Compression Level = store

Better audio - Beats audio drivers

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has tried to install Beats audio
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motioncoding.beats
It should run even under stock firmware (root needed) and it's supposed to increase audio performances. I'm not sure it can be easily uninstalled, and someone says it could damage the system.
Opinions about it?
Thanks.

I have installed in the custom rom [GB] GxG JellyBread & in rooted Google Nexus & noticed a big difference.
What it does is replace the original system audio related files. If you're installing it, there's no turning back - uninstalling the app would not revert back the rom's original files. It will only remove beats logo (the one appears when headset plugs in).
If ur not sure what ur about to play with, always take a nandroid backup mate! cheerz!
Sorry my answer so late.
Which version did you install? I had a look at some Beats Audio threads and I'm quite confused. Thanks a lot.

[JB][CM10] i717 Bluetooth Audio Music fix

I am unsure of how many people have had the same issue with the i717 when flashing a CM10 based rom (ie Liquid, Paranoid, or CM10 Nightly) the Bluetooth AP2P stops working for music and sounds other than Phone Calls.
After much searching I found eSebk putting a post with a similar issue in the Galaxy SIII Forum. I used this same fix with my i717 Note, tested with Paranoid Android 2.1 with full success.
I wanted to post this hear for anyone searching for a solution to the same issue.
Here is eSebk's thread, be sure to give him thanks if this works for you too as this is 100% his work, I just wanted to help out fellow Note Users.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1848643
That's great news, was wondering if this would also work with a touchwiz/stock Rom as well?

Can you fill me in on exactly how you applied this fix? The link in the post is to the audio.conf file and not a ZIP like the OP said but what I've done is mount the root filesystem as wriatble and replaced the corresponding audio_policy.conf in /system/etc/ with the one I downloaded and then rebooted. It isn't working for me. The audio is still coming through my phone and won't route through Bluetooth even though its connected.

I loaded the audio_policy.conf from the note 2 sys dump floating around here. Expected non-working audio and BT but got working handset audio and BT audio on newest CM M1. Also running with h0tcakes 1.5 kernel, no freezes or reboots.
Downloaded the dump from here...

Well done OP.....
This needs to be added too the super thread ....

Ahhh I figured it out. I decided to actually open the file just to scan its contents and whatever was in that file, it certainly wasn't ASCII or Unicode. It looked like what you see when you open binary data as text. Somehow, that tiny little conf file was corrupted in it's brief period of download to my device. I re-downloaded and checked the file and this time everything was easily interpreted, intuitive text parameters and it worked after rebooting!
Excellent fix! thank you for this. It's been the only thing keeping me off of the nightlies the past week. The changes in the latest build today though look like they've officially fixed the issue. There's multiple changes regarding Bluetooth and A2DP
well i tried today's nightly and still have the problem. anyway i copied the file posted, fixed the permissions and it is working good now. thanks.

It fixed the bluetooth audio music issue for me. However, when I was making a call with no headset, the sound was on speaker only even when I was toggling the speaker/phone button. I had to revert back.
Anyone else with the same issue?
For anyone having the "permanent speakerphone" issue, use the attached file. It's the CM10 original modified with the correct value for bluetooth frequency. (44100)
On my ATT Galaxy note, everything now functions properly. (BT Audio, BT Controls, Speakerphone when I choose it, phone ear speaker normally, etc)
When my Note is in vibrate mode, if I press any of play/pause/next/previous in BT headset, the vibrate mode turned off to sound mode. Is this conf file doesn't have this problem? Thanks!
This doesn't work at all for me mainly because I can't flash it . Is there a trick I don't know? I tried flashing like any Rom file but it fails.
Is there something I should do differently? I even cleared cache and davlik as well as doing permissions first but no joy.

First, Special Thanks to @zhuhang
Actually what you are referring to is found here
http://www.vipersaudio.com/blog
and also here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
The software doesn't actually have beats built into it. It is just a really awesome music EQ app based off Cyanogen's EQ. For this app to work correctly, it has to install drivers, which requires root access, some functions may work without root. After you enable the convolver, selecting the impulse response sample (in this case, we would want the sample for beats). Many samples are available for this app to be used with the convolver function. On their website they give you free samples that are not very good..
Samples are shown here in this article but for some reason the OP decided not to allow you to download them, or on the website.

After doing some hunting around the forums.. I have found the good Impulse Response Samples.. Here is the link I found.
http://d-h.st/NEu
After downloading and unzipping. Open to ViPER4Android/Kernel Copy all contents out of there and move them to the folder on your phone also labeled ViPER4Android/Kernel.
After this is completed you can enable convolver and use the samples there in. If you have any questions, please contact the respected parties.

p769 audio hack?

is there anyway to bypass the safe headset. volume.its just too low for when I'm working on equipment.
Try installing viper4android fx and xhifi, it usually boosts how loud it is for me plus I can add a ton of bass in. It requires root. Don,t use then play store version, use the version on the xda thread you should find when you google it.

thanks for the reply, I tried that app but doesn't seem to work, any other ideas
You installed the driver and configured it? I think xhifi did most of the volume boost, I used a preset I think they posted on the thread of how to configure it. Make sure you check off the master power to be on for the headset section when you are done configuring it.
