Hey, im looking for new phone and Pocophone F1 looks interesting. But when i read few threads here and on YouTube i have some questions mostly about screen. Is really touch screen and screen quality not good for newest games and movies? Now i have Le Max 2 and screen quality is superb and i haven't problem at all with quality or touch delay, but software and some things are just awful thats why i want to change Phone but not at all cost
I won't buy it until they fix the lag issue.

I'm in the same position as well... looking to get a Poco F1. Currently using a Oneplus One on Lineage OS... so the development community is essential and Poco F1 seems to be a good successor. Tried to jump to the Razer Phone, but as good as the silky smooth 120Hz screen is, the development community is lacking (and it doesn't support exFAT and Apt-X, both of which the Poco F1 has).
Played with the Poco F1 at the Mi Store for like 30min (tried to install gcam with night sight, but for some reason it would freeze up). The main thing holding me back right now is Widevine L1 certification. Once Poco can actually deliver on that, then I think I'll take the plunge.

not everybody has that prob
I also don't have any lag issues with my phone it's fluid and smooth and no problem at all with the hardware, the screen is good and I don't have these touch or bleeding issues .. Just buy a Chinese phone cause all these screen problems arises in these phones made in India due to bad quality control.

Well, you shouldn't bother about screen quality. Its one of the bests that IPS can offer. 720p YouTube videos have the same quality from 540p and XIAOMI alleged is solving this. You can test on YouTube. 480p and 720p videos on 6" screen have no difference.
Hi folks I'm in the market for another device and I'm stuck on the poco F1 or the mi 8 Lite both around my budget of £300 seeing as the 64GB 6GB poco is now £299 I'm obviously thinking it's a better bang for buck with the SD 845 over the mi 8 Lite SD 660 no contest in that department but of course the mi 8 Lite looks a better build smaller notch and generally nicer looking , can't decide weather to go with lower spec CPU with
more premium look of forget looks and have better specs ,,,
What would you do? Tia

latest batch like mine has no problem with screen bleeding... and some say touch response prob and they say it starts after a while when we drag and u can even take s9 it also starts draging after some drag thats how screen works it has to understand touch and drag so it takes time

By the time your new phone shows signs of wear and scratches or gets covered with screen protector and case, looks are not going to be important. Performance or whatever your main use for the phone is is your main long term importance.
The Poco F1 is £279 on Amazon uk at the moment. I have one of these in an unopened box waiting to be given to me at Christmas.
Black Friday offer of £241 for the Poco F1 in the uk:

Which month mfg? You can check this on the box
Where exactly i can check the manufacturing date on the box?
Check the sticker containing all the phone parameters, the manufacturing date is written in bottom right corner - like "20018 07" in my case.

I want to share my opinion pros/cons after use this device for a week. I would frankly say what is good, what is bad.
The unit i have is Xiaomi mi note 2 128gb/6gb non-global version.
cons:
color shift on curve edges, it look abit blue by eye ( when screen is display light tone - white ). This not effect with dark tone color ( It look normal from flat to edges curve )
camera it come with older build compare to mi5s which announce 2 months before mi note 2. Mi note 2 come with imx318 which release since Feb 2016 compere to mi5s come with imx378 which release on Sep 2016. Look at that gap for possible improvement make me feel abit disappoint. ( but it also has a pros from sacrifice **see in Pros**)
It doesn't come with 3D touch (T_T)
LTE bands for non-global version. Why they remove FDD B8. but mi5s have 5 bands include B8
Benchmark Performance for 128/6gb model abit disappoint. It only get around 110k-125k on antutu, 1800SC 3900MC on Geekbench. Compare to other phone with this spec even mi note 64/4gb got higher. You also can see from this link: https://www.kimovil.com/en/best-smartphones-moviles/best-smartphones-antutu-benchmark
( I think this must be a software issue, with this spec it can improve with better ROM and Kernel. Still waiting for it )
Announce on the same day with Mi mix. Which pull down the hype on mi flagship (mi note2). Cause less developer taking eyes on mi note 2 over Mi mix by comparing on both forum.
Price per performance compare to mi5s.
Pros:
Battery 4070 mAh. DAMN!!! this make no wonder using this phone through a day. Daily use, message, phone call, browse, social, take photo, Bluetooth streaming, gaming, watch youtube still get spare juice before go to bed. No need to carry power bank around.
Feeling so good on hand. Its thin with that battery size. The dual curve edge feel premium. Whole Metal build + gorilla glass.
Spec sheet. even though i talk about performance above, But with this spec hardware there is huge gap to improve by software later.
Camera. Sacrifice newer model but what we get is image stabilization @4K and higher Megapixel. wide angle front facing camera.
Sound both on speaker and headphone quite good.
Equip with all kind of connectivity even infrared.
Fast and accurate fingerprint sensor.
Conclusion:
In real world scenario, i didn't feel any lag or slow performance. It still one of the fast/best phone in the market today. Camera is good just dont read the spec sheet. Feel premium on hand. Huge battery capacity more than enough for daily use, plus quick charge. Good sound. fast fingerprint scan. Have to wait abit for custom rom and kernel. Better if you can get global version.

You can't really use these benchmark test for anything serious.

SD 821 is much more powerful than tegra x1 and yes it plays 10 bit hevc videos. I have Nvidia shield TV too, ja it's good but SD 821 is faster and better.

Yes, I saw many 4gb mi note 2 benchmark around 145-160k. With my unit (6gb mi note 2) i expect to see better ram performance but i got even lower than 4gb model. I think with newer rom update could improve ram management on 6gb model.
But as i said on original post that real world use i didnt get any pull down performance.
Do you need to wake the phone to use the fingerprint sensor? Or is it like most phones that can be woken up and unlocked with a fingerprint scan?

How is the display of the mi note 2? Many reviewers are quite disappointed by the display. I wonder how sharp it is because of 5.7" amoled screen. Pentile matrix and 1080p resolution with that screen size could be a concern for me.
I just can't decide between MI note 2 and oneplus 3t...oneplus is much much cheaper than MI note 2 in 128 GB configuration and I guess it will be available much faster than mi note 2. But I want the edge screen so badly.

Frankly I would say that display is better then any other IPS screen in terms of color reproduction. Brightness is fine but Xiaomi 5s is brighter at max. It is not an issue for me because I keep brightness at 80%, in bright condition. Here's a bad thing I think, the screen changes to bluish tint if you look at it at angle but most noticeable if display is white. When it comes to sharpness it's fine to me but I think many people will say it's not sharp enough because they just happen to know that there are 2k displays on the other phones. They would never guessed what resolution particular displays has by just looking at it. OnePlus 3t it might be better in some aspects but personally it's looking boring to me and I would never consider one for myself. Besides I hate when camera frame is taller/higher than surface as it's case with OnePlus. The other thing you have to put in consideration is MIUI and for now there is no global firmware but I flashed Xiaomi.eu ROM and it's flawless. There are other phones in the same category like Leeco le pro 3 or vivo xplay6. Best regards

Ihave not read this wrong, as of November, there has been a 128GB/6GB combination of the 5.7" Xiaomi Mi Note 2 with a Global ROM? Or the CN one with litterally 4 or 5 unlocked bands?
So this phone must be woken up for the finger print to work. It doesn't try reading a fingerprint tap on the button and ,must be woken up to work?

That is correct, but still it's done by one touch, while yu pressing the button the fingerprint scanner is unlocking the locked screen at same time.
Mi note 2 global version is about to be realest but all my Xiaomi mi phones are compatible in my country ( Denmark) so I am not bothered.

I think the word disappoint for display of mi note 2 is under expectation. Everyone who plan to buy this phone would expect to see gorgeous IPS curve display. But after you get the phone hand on and the color on the edge doesn't seem as expectation so it would be abit disappoint.
As a mi note2 user I would say first impression was abit disappointed for display. The color on curve edge seem abit blue (only on white background) and abit warm tone display (compared to 1+2 i had used before mi note2).
But after using this phone for few days you will get use to color of display. Now i didn't feel any color change on the curve edges (after get used to) but the curve edge of screen still make you feel good on hand. Normally we look directly to screen not to the curve so right now color on the curve doesn't make me feel bad otherwise curve is still curve every time you hold your phone you always feel good on hand.
Thanks for the feedback. I personally don't care about other phones 2k displays (VR is not of relevance for me at all). I'm running the redmi note 3 pro international at the moment and the display is just fantastic. I just don't want a downgrade in display quality for my next phone which will cost about 4x more than the redmi note 3. In general the note 3 pro is already the perfect phone for its price tag (except for camera quality) but I always happened to be one of the enthusiast guys and I'm very curious about the curved screen.
An other thing that bothers me is the battery life. Reviewers speak about 4-5hrs on screen time. On the note 3 you can easily get between at least 7 hrs up to 10 hrs for some ppl. The difference in screen size is just 0.2 inches and the capacity is the same.
So what is the battery life for you guys?
The camera seems to be decent but it seems that pixel and s7/edge still play in their own league tho...
BTW: is anyone using the edge functions on the mi note 2?

1. Yes, bootloader must be unlocked and TWRP for Mi note 2 must be flashed at first.
2. There is a guide on xiaomi.eu site how to do it : https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/6-12-29.37056/
Hello,
Today I went to a xiaomi shop in France and the paper near the mi a3 says 1080p screen !!!
So I asked a seller why on internet it's 720p.
He said the screen is 1080p but android display only 720p (because on other models a bug happens with android auto and 1080p. Maybe with an update it will become 1080p)
This is very weird. The screen doesn't look like a 1080p
Do you think this is true ?
And why it's written 1080 !?
(Sorry for my bad English ^^)
they probably messed up the product info paper. the explanation they gave you is ridiculous.
mi a3 = mi cc9e with android one.
Okay thank you for your answer.
I'm thinking maybe originally the mi a3 was supposed to be 1080 and they change it very late in the device creation. so they still have paper with 1080p screen ?
(Btw I bought one hoping the community will be big. My 2013 nexus 5 is pretty old ?)
i was hoping we get a rebranded mi cc9 (non e) too. not getting an a3 as it stands.
Actually the 720p screen is not that bad (okay we can see the pixels) the battery life is suppose to be better and games are running better

if you can see the pixels that's bad. the excuse for better battery is just wrong. the 4k battery would easily survive a full day on a 1080p display too. and if they had used the cc9 that has a better graphics for games. no, this is just a bad move from xiaomi, no point to sugar coat it. they should have used the cc9 even if it brought the price over 300-350 or at least upgraded the screen. it still would have been a very good value device. as it is... it's a missed opportunity!

I have a Xiaomi Mi A3, the information you can see the screen pixels are wrong, it is not possible to see the screen pixels since unlike the IPS screen, in AMOLED screen this is not possible. You will not notice so much the difference between an AMOLED screen and an IPS screen. The only difference I noticed is that on Full HD the screen is sharper, but the difference is not that big. If you want to buy, you need not worry about it.

you shouldn't be "OK" with it. in 2019 you should be able to pick the features/things that you want on a phone instead of having to live with bad decisions from xiaomi. we are not sheep having to buy any turd they put out. there are many more manufcturers and many more phone models. if you have any second thoughts about the phone, return it, get your money back and pick something else. it's a free economy, you dont like something, pick something else. the market will bend xiaomi and not the other way around.

There are actually more than a few Xiaomi phones that are cheaper or almost as cheap as the Mi A3. I'm not sure where you got your SAR specs for the Mi A3, but I suppose this can be fixed by using earphones, preferably not Bluetooth (since they have their own radiation issues). Myself I normally don't use my phone as a phone but as an ultraportable tablet, so I'm not too concerned about SAR.
I got the sar here : https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model-sar/51c75175
And also in the store (you can also see the 1080p resolution here) :

He is saying the truth cuz as all of you know the iPhone 8 currently my social phone is 720p resolution but when I open youtube for most Android phone with 720 p screen they limit at 720p but my iPhone can max out at 1080p the other one is my brother's Xperia 1 all of you must know that it has 4k display but it is not 4k Everytime.when you game on the Xperia it will compress to 720p also when you are multitasking it switch to 1080p the only time when 4k is applied when you web surfing like YouTube or Instagram and when opening the gallery and camera
It's 720p screen and it's ****, no honest person gonna deny that,, that's just not acceptable in 2019.
Xiaomi is a bad company they are putting an end to the mi A line up in favor to their ****ty miui os,,
I got Mi A2 Lite (FHD) and Mi A3 (HD) - i personally cannot see much difference in everyday normal using. There are options for interface and font size, i was allways using custom ones, so the screen is not a problem for me. Mi biggest problem is navigation buttons missing, but thats different topic.

If this is true, big mistake from xiaomi that doesn't announced the entire A3 line at once. Why announces one in July and one in August? This will really frustrated a lot of A3 owners, including me.

It's 720p screen and it's ****, no honest person gonna deny that,, that's just not acceptable in 2019.
Xiaomi is a bad company they are putting an end to the mi A line up in favor to their ****ty miui os,,

I used to think like you, including the bits about how xiaomi is probably trying to make us buy its MIUI products. However, I've since gotten an A3. And I can tell you, the problem is not nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. It does save battery life, and pixelation is not nearly as noticeable as I thought. I have to look pretty hard to see the difference that the complaint seems moot. Yet OLED is obviously brighter and more vibrant than IPS LCD, and also necessary for the in screen fingerprint sensor. To have all these specifications (OLED, imx586, 4000mah, SD665, sd card, headphone jack, gorilla glass back, etc) at this price point itself is a sincere effort.
You have to check it out yourself before you make your final judgment. I personally am an unlikely convert and I'm loving it. Although I still wouldn't mind having a CC9 a3 pro, I honestly think xiaomi did a really good job with A3, and it's probably a more thoughtfully balanced package if not the best spec'ed in the latest xiaomi lineup, in my opinion.
Is it a worthy enough update to switch from an MiA1 to an MiA3?
Opinions appreciated

I also switched from A1 - I am completely satisfied with everything, although the screen resolution is less.
yes worth it!
I used mia1, a2 and now a3 most satisfied, perticularly form factor and compact dimensions. With regard to the display due to the smoled colors views punchy. 720p doesn't bother me.
I come from mi a1 to and I am satisfied with mi a3 resolution it's ok for me
I just upgraded week ago, and I can't be more satisfied, bigger battery no bezels, camera is fabulous. If you expecting more speed than you dont upgrade, i think performance are the same. For me only one downside is location of 3,5mm jack which is now located on top of the phone, but thats just my opinion. About display, for regular guy i can't say dispaly is bad because it has 720p. I prefer strong colors because of amoled display and you got big savings on battery by enabling dark mode (although there is not yet system-wide support). Overall I would recomend everyone from MI A1 to upgrade on A3 if they were satisfied with A1 there is no reason to not buy this phone.
I find the onscreen fingerprint scanner annoying. 7 out of 10 it failed to recognize fingerprint.
Hi
I'm currently using the Zuk Z2 plus and looking for an upgrade as the battery is worn out. Is this phone good if I get it at 15k? How bad are the ghost touches and any fix? Any other issue?
Or should I go for Redmi K20 as K20 pro is out of my budget..
Don't waste your money on any Xaiomi phone, better wait and save more the new phone.
don't buy
don't buy it, even paying 7k is enough for this in 2019, have been using it for 7 months, lot of issues facing, specially signal issue, freezing, battery backup, updating issue, now after updating to september 2019 update facing google cam stuck, don't take it, you can buy K20 at flipkart BB sale or realme 5 pro or XT or X...........
Chup Bc
Most Probably You Are Using Old Batch !
I'm Using It From 1 Year And No Issues At All !
Newer Models Got New Panel !
The First Batch Was Sh*t, But They Could Be Fixed Just By Using Proper Kernel With Proper Driver.
If You Don't Know That, Don't Mislead Annoying!
You can get even more discount by using an axis bank debit credit card and icici credit card, which technically brings the price down to 13.5k. And at this price that's an absolute steak. Nothing comes close. Go for it
I added a poll please vote . I'm still confused and only 5 days left for sale
So let me give a little comparison.
If you choose the Poco F1, you get an LCD display, Snapdragon 845 which is great if you plan to play any heavy games. SD card slot and a notch. 2 Cameras on the back (''wide''/normal camera and a depth sensor which is used to detect edges when you do a portrait shot)
If you choose the K20, you get an AMOLED display, you get a Snapdragon 730 which is still great but not as powerful as the Snapdragon 845, you can still play heavy games but not at high FPS or you will have to lower the graphics quality. You lose the MicroSD slot. ''Bezel Less'' display. You get 3 cameras on the back (wide, telephoto which is great for portrait shots and an ultrawide which is great for landscape shots).
If you want to play heavy gpu games, go for the Poco F1, most of the ghost touches are fixed with either updates from MIUI or various kernels on this site (some say ghost touches occur because they installed a screen protector). If you don't plan to play any heavy gpu games and you only use it for social media, videos, light-medium gpu games, go for the K20.

I want good camera and battery(installing GCam and custom ROMs). I have seen Pocos display and it looks great! I don't mind AMOLED display nor do I need MicroSD.
Does Poco have ESim?
wow you haven't bought it YET ?

With Google Cam you will get great photos out of both phones, sometimes the stock camera outperforms the Gcam. Also MKBHD did a camera blind test with a bunch of high end phones and the Poco F1 got 2nd place. And if you plan on flashing ROMs, you will find great ROMs and Kernels that will give you great battery life.

POCO F1 is the best phone you can get at ₹15K as it has second fastest Qualcomm processor. So don't worry just buy, you don't need post a poll. But buy it from Amazon, because ₹1K cheaper in Amazon. Or else you can buy Asus Zenfone 5Z for ₹17K which is also a good option as it has great design & build quality and HiRes earphones in the box.
So finally we have another Poco launching soon in India.
Its nothing but a rebranded Redmi K30 starting with a price tag of Rs. 15999.
As an F1 user what are your thoughts on X2?
Is it worth putting money on if someone is using F1 and wants to upgrade?
Or its a another waste attempt by Xiaomi to compete with already few months old Realme X2?
Should we keep our hopes on for F2 or X2 Pro with supposedly SD865 chipset or move our faith to Realme with the likes of Realme X2 Pro and upcoming X50 5G?
For me, disappointing. Not just because it's a rebrand of Redmi K30, but also because of the specs. They're not that impressive, given the fact that we were waiting 1,5 yrs for a new phone (which isn't even new) Thought, I like the 120Hz display and big battery. Cameras are unnecessary for me (having a quad set-up).
So I'll rather stick with my F1 until they release a truly new smartphone or "flagship killer"
In conclusion, this one is a waste of money if you own F1. It's better to invest in other Xiaomi phones or wait for F2 or X2 Pro. I wouldn't necessarily lose hope in Xiaomi (or POCO).
Not worth it, with gcam or camera will take better pictures and the cpu on f1 is stronger.
It's cheap (in India, at any rate)
Processor seems a downgrade vs the F1
"Master of speed?" Not so much
Why bother with the 120hz screen when the processor won't support highest settings on most games?
Camera looks decent, from the first look
Not an upgrade from the F1
Let's see if they can do any better with the F2 (whenever that emerges)
Its a different phone all together. I don't think it's meant to be upgrade or successor of f1, as its design philosophy differs.
On the phone itself, Only thing going for it is 120Hz which I'm not sure how much of real life diff it will make. I think the vanilla K20 might be better deal due to notch less AMOLED screen and zoom camera. If k20 gets a rate cut, I would pick k20 over x2 anyday.
Poco F1 users won't go for Poco X2, period.
There is nothing better in the X2 compared F1 except 120hz. Not even Samoled.
There is a reason why F1 was priced at 20k rupees and X2 is 16k rupees.
Upgrade can only b considered if there are:-
-Samoled with/without 120hz
-flagship grade processor
-telephoto lens
-traditional fingerprint is faster than under display
-no more ugly notches, waterdrop is okay
-plz no fancy face unlock/ir camera if its not 100% safe like iphone's face id
-battery is always gud on xiaomi devices
-lotsa dev support just like F1
-doesnt matter if it ships with miui as long as we can flash PE.
-stereo speakers or not its okay
Keep the poco line vry clear, if phones like X2 are launched under poco brand users wil get confused.
I hope this clears the air.
Will stick with the F1 and also have realme 5 as back up device and a Asus Zenfone 3 ultra and lg g6 and a LG v30 so not looking for anything yet.......
If it's not a flagship CPU inside (and it isn't...), then I couldn't care less.
The X2 isn't the successor to the F1, but more of a teaser. Yes, it's just a rebranded K30, but as per interviews, this is not the F2. A real successor will come out, just no info yet when.
Hopefully it's not a rebranded K30, but more of an upgrade to the F1. I do hope they bring back the infrared face unlock. And I'm glad they still have the sd slot (that's what kept me from upgrading to the K20 Pro/Mi 9T pro last year).
---------- Post added at 03:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:26 PM ----------
Here's my take on the X2 and the upcoming F2. If they can keep most of the stuff from the X2 like the camera, SD Slot, keep a jack, 4500mah battery, faster charging speed, the 120hz display (I'm fine with LCD just to keep costs down, and some gaming monitors with high refresh rates are still LCD and are fantastic, so it's fine). Then maybe keep the plastic back from the F1 (not a fan of glass, especially since the K30/X2 has a glass/plastic combo that isn't nice since it may likely just compromise the structure of the phone specially with falls. Note that the sides of the phone are plastic and not metal, which is bad news for integral structure as not only will the glass possibly break easier, but the plastic may break too.). Or they could go the kevlar route like the last time, or something different like the papaya leather of the concept one phone.
Also, keep the infrared face unlock. That's one of the best features of the F1 (my opinion). I don't mind the notch, so long as notifications are better implemented. Also, have a notif light.
I thought Poco brand was exclusively for Flagship device in budget, until this X2 launched. X2 seems like a mid-range device, They are just using the brandname to get most out of K30 series. Indian users prefer Redmi Note series for mid-range. X2 isn't worth it, people would rather spend it on K20 which offers AMOLED display with same processor.
I'll stick with F1 for sure ! i'm so disappointed .. i almost sold my F1 .. lucky i didn't !

Heee i sold it to S10 , will switch if they made poco x2 maybe with pro version with SDM 855 or 865
Xiaomi should've put a 855 (or at least 765g) instead of spending in that useless glass/aluminium body.
The whole purpose of Pocophone/Poco is offering flagship performance at midrange/low midrange price so using glass body is opposing that purpose. Glass body adds no performance and increases cost. Even waterproofing would have had some practical purpose.
Another thing to mention is regarding camera: should've put a telephoto lens rather than macro and depth sensor. Its much more useful.
Rear mounted fingerprint scanner is much better than side mounted one with a protective casing on.
I am waiting for f2 ,this x2 is not worth to upgrade .
I don't really consider X2 as the successor of F1. More like a spin off. Kinda like mid-range Galaxy phones like A series
In my opinion its defiantly not an upgrade from F1. I still loves my bery.
