ODIN fails due to low battery - Tablet not charging when plugged in - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Questions & Answers

Hi, I have quite a frustrating issue, which seems too simple - let me explain. I tried doing a firmware restore etc. via ODIN which failed half way through (I think this was due to a low battery). Upon reboot I have a screen saying "use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch pc software". I feel confident I could fix the soft-brick issue but the problem is that the tablet connection keeps disconnecting/dropping out every 10 seconds or so and restarting always going back to the same “use smart switch” error message - leading me to think the battery is drained. It does not seem to be charging when plugged in . . . meaning it cannot stay connected to a PC long enough to carry out any processes, I have managed to get into Download mode but also only for 10 seconds before it drops the connection, meaning ODIN always fails. Is there a way to switch off the Tablet when plugged into the wall plug - it seems to always switch on automatically and then show the error message? Any thoughts welcome!

How did u brick it, I myself only unbricked my tablet yesterday, if its because of twrp just flash magisk

U can't swicht it off but it does charge but not as fast, leave it overnight, or atlaest for and hour or 2

@ iamasandwhich: Thanks for the fast reply - strangely I noticed that when it is in the screen for "use smart switch to recover" it doesn't charge at all (I had it plugged in for 8 hours) but I managed to boot it into the stock recovery (which thankfully I must have managed to install just before Odin failed during my first attempt at unbricking) and had it plugged into the wall socket in Recovery Mode for about 2 hours and then managed to unbrick through Odin. :victory:

@Iamasandwich: In case you'er still interested in how I bricked it . . . I have created this post to share with anyone stuck with similar issues.

[Q] how do i save my phone? stuck in empty battery screen

i was previously using this rom, [ROM][MIUI][21/10] cMIUI 2.10.19 [4.1.2][AOSP][OTA][Aroma][Multi][Super Stable] and tried to flash it back to the stock rom (DXLPB).
i used odin to flash it back and apparently the operation failed and i got into the screen where it shows the "firmware upgrade had encountered an issue...." message.
when i tried flashing the rom again the operation always fail because the usb keeps disconnecting every 20 seconds and connecting again.
so i tried flashing the rooting file ( the one that i used to flash in odin in order for it to root ) and this time my phone went into recovery mode.
i cleared the cache and wipe the phone data and rebooted it.
apparently the phone doesnt go into any screen anymore other then the empty battery icon when i plug it into the com. if i unplug it, the phone will be stuck in the same screen until i take out the battery.
usb is not detected, odin not detected also.
i cant switch it to download or recovery mode either.
i tried using the heimdel package but it wouldnt work because the phone cant be detected either
is there anyway to save my phone??
please help! thanks in advance.
i tried getting it into download mode and the screen shows "LOW BATTERY!! CAN'T DOWNLOAD!" screen. unfortunately, i cant seems to charge my phone also. plug into the pc and charger for hours, doesnt seem to charge. its not the cable's fault. i got many cables, tried all of them. any help??
Try another battery (best charged). If you have an old backup use it.

[Q] Lenovo phone bricked itself?

Hi,
I've got Lenovo s650, rooted with a custom rom (MIUI). All was perfect for weeks but few days ago it started randomly going off. Then I noticed that sometimes when I listen to music it crashes (making the music freeze and repeat same note for like 10secs) and shuts down. I thought it could be related to some apps but since I was very busy I didn't do anything about it.
Now today I noticed that my phone suddenly lost network coverage (in area where I always use it). I tried airplane mode on/off but didn't help, so I powered off and thought I will do hard reset when I get back home. However since then the phone is completely dead. Can't get into recovery, if I plug into USB nothing happens, if I take out the battery the red light turns and it goes to "META" mode for few secs (as it's intended to) but I can't download anything into it as I get some DRAM error in Upgrade /flash/ tool.
Funny thing that somehow I was trying all the combinations Volume up/down/both + power and at some point I randomly managed to turn it on so I was gonna make a backup of my stuff but it froze and shut down again. Now nothing works......
Any ideas what happened? :/
Some additional info:
I've got TWRP recovery (however I am unable to re-download it again via flashtool because of DRAM error).
I tried getting into adb but I am not sure if it's possible when the phone is off (tried volume button combinations with battery in and out but nothing).
Also when my phone is with battery and I put it into USB, pc recognizes it as "MTK USB Port", but it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting every 5 seconds. Tried to replace it with adb USB driver but didn't work.
Not having a phone I'll probably give a "Format all" option a shot in flash tool... either gonna brick it forever or fix it..
Edit1: Can't even format due to DRAM error....... :/
Edit2: This is so bizarre... I managed to connect my phone a couple of times in Mediatek preloader mode so the flash tool started flashing the rom, but stopped in a few mins unable to format something because it's protected.
I also managed to turn on the phone a couple of times and tried connecting via adb, but once I grant root permissions, adb shell on my pc cannot find device anymore.
It seems like either a hardware or kernel problem but I know nothing about either of them..
Edit3: I don't know how but I fixed it. Phone seems to be fine for now
Edit4: After 1 hour of working the phone died in exactly the same way.... And so this 6-week old phone will be going to rubbish bin. End of my blog.

[Q] I need help with my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-5110

So I first got my device from a family member the other day and started to run into some problems. The device was running pretty good except that when I played games over 10 minutes the device would flicker. It would keep flickering then would turn off. It kept giving me overheating warnings but the device was never hot. I then rooted the device using the PDA named CF-Auto-Root-konawifi-konawifixx-gtn5110 with Odin 3.07 and everything went fine. Though the device would still flicker when it reached 60 degrees C, if I had it on the charger it would not flicker and everything ran fine. I then(stupidly)installed a .apk file GL Tools and my device turned off completely. When I turned it back on it would display the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 GT-N5110 logo and would stay on that not letting the device boot. I could go into Download mode and Recovery mode but restore to factory didn't work. I then tried to use Odin and root it again to see if that worked(it passed)but didn't work. I then tried again and the device turned off. When it turned back on I had the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again". I then tried to root again and Odin read FAIL. Not only that, but when I try to charge the device it wont charge, instead the screen keeps blinking very fast and it only lets me go into download mode. I really need help, I don't know what to do. I really would like to keep this tablet if It can even be fixed. Oh and opened the case and took the battery and and put it back in didn't work. Edit: The device will not turn on unless a chargers plugged in. Screen is flickering outrageously. I'm guessing its not charging at all

Problem with my xt 1225

My xt1225 was fine , until some time ago.
Problem started there : I couldnt let it drain all the battery down or it would be a pain in the ass to charge it up.
If i let , the problem was that everytime i plug the charger in the phone would go up a second showing the charging screen and then turn off. The solution was to try to boot on bootloader or recovery and pray that it doesnt turn off, then the phone would charge a bit and back to the normal state.
The strange thing come here : one day after letting it go down to 1% (it didnt shut down but stayed at 1%), i plugged the charger in and the battery wouldnt go up past 1%. I let for hours and nothing . Then I managed to go on receovery (twrp 3.0.2) and :
The processor temp was something like 4293089048 C , the battery still 1%.
After some restarts on recovery i noticed that the battery would sometimes change a bit of the value , and i plugged the charger and managed to charge up battery to 100% in recovery only.
Now , after charging the phone a bit i decided to reflash the stock rom (was using aex) but i noticed that I can`t get my system recognized on usb. Neither on Bootloader , recovery , or system .
Anybody can help me =(?
Obs : Still have acess to system (with a custom rom , aex) , and i can flash things on recovery

First of all, it seems like you have posted in the wrong section.
The XT1225 has a dedicated forum available here. So, the correct section for your thread should be here.
Secondly, it sounds like you're having a battery hardware issue. The battery is likely failing. If you can, you should replace it.
It might also be a USB Cable or USB connector issue. So, you should first change the USB Cable. If it doesn't help, change the battery. If that fails too, then you must ultimately change the USB connector (better take it to a repair center).
Before any of these, you can try to calibrate the battery with a calibration app, but I seriously doubt that will work. It's still worth the try!

Galaxy s6 active SM-G890a constant boot loop, cannot access recovery mode.

The phone has successfully been flashed with a few different firmwares since the bootloop started occurring. the phone will only power on when the cable is plugged in but it will show the samsung screen and then start the "Installing system update" screen and then instantly go to "No command" and then boot back to the samsung screen to repeat the process. download mode is accessible but i cant get into recovery mode to reset the cache or perform a factory wipe.
The cable is fine and the usb port on the phone let me flash software via odin so i don't understand why it only powers on with a cable plugged in.
Could this be a battery issue? i'm very new to this website and the software end of phone repair stuff so any help is greatly appreciated!
i'm currently running 7.0 firmware G890AUCS7DRF2 from boxwares but the bootloop has been occurring since before i even tried to flash anything.
Also, all of my drivers seem to be up to date so i don't think that's posing any issues.
Thanks so much in advance!
Hi , try to clean the charging port of your phone with 100% alcohol and with clean toothbrush also you can use needle to clean the usb port contact.
Another what you can do is to put your phone into the charger for abot 30 minutes and see if your phone is become to hot on the back side what can be sign of bad charging port or probably dead battery .
