Bootloop after flashing Oreo AT&T S7 SM-G930A
I flashed my AT&T S7 SM-G930A / G930AUCS8CRJ2 with this firmware. All completed fine in Odin. Upon re-starting the phone is in a bootloop showing "RECOVERY BOOTING..." and seconds later the android blue screen with "Installing system update" message... and minutes later it reboots again to same cycle. I am not longer able to enter into Android Recovery mode to reset (power + home + volume up). Any ideas what I can do.
thanks.

Try this:
When small blue writing appears, let go of just the power button. It should then boot into recovery.

Did you have Samsung Reactivation Lock or FRP (factory reset protection) turned on? I think this might be the problem for firmware not to work

@stek-kravari (When small blue writing appears, let go of just the power button. It should then boot into recovery. )
A>> Tried that few times. It results in the screen going black some seconds, then get blue screen with android logo and the message "installing system updates". few minutes later it resets back to same cycle as before (Recovery Booting...)
About Samsung Reactivation Lock or FPR. I do not recall having that set. Mostly I kept the phone at factory settings since received it. Anyway to check for it at this stage?
Some background, if that helps.
The phone (no rooted, not uploaded new firmware) was working fine till few days ago it turned off itself during a call as battery was depleted. Charged it, turned it on, and it froze on an screen noting it needed the password for device encryption but then the on-screen keyboard did not accept any input.
From there, I turned it off and entered it in Android Recovery mode and I did a factory reset. Rebooted and then it started with Android blue screen and a message of "installing system updates" and minutes later it failed with error of "No Command" and self-reboot to Android recovery mode. From there, I installed the firmware on this thread via Odin which completed successfully, but got into this bootloop issue.
Should I try a different firmware?
Thanks.

Did you tried with Patched Odin?
But i think it will be the same result, because the bootloader binary is updated to 8 (G930AUCS8CRJ2)
so i think you only can flash firmware with bootloader 8

While trying the patched ODIN I see the phone screen shows FRP LOCK as ON . Mentioning now as I was asked before if FRP was on.
Phone download screen says:
ODIN MODE (HIGH_SPEED)

SYSTEM STATUS: Official
FRP LOCK: ON
WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
AP SWEWV: B8(2,1,1,1,1) K8 S8

Firmware upload with patched ODIN completed successfully, but the phone remains in bootloop at Recovery Booting for some seconds, followed by blue screen with message "Installing system updates" for a minute or so, and reboots again to Recovery Booting... I am still unable to enter in Android Recovery mode to do a factory reset.
Does the FRP LOCK ON means nothing else can be done to the phone to recover?

Try this option
Flash G930AUCS8CRJ2 with Patched Odin again, but untick auto-reboot, when flashing is complete go into recovery mode immediately and see if you can do factory reset
Tried Flashing G930AUCS8CRJ2 with Patched Odin again with untick auto-reboot but I was unable to enter in Android Recovery mode to reset. When rebooting (Home + power + volume up) its goes to same black screen and blue letters "Recovery Booting..." as before, and mins later starts again the cycle of "installing system updates" and bootlop.

I don't know what to say, i have never seen this problem, try to flash the firmware that your phone was using before this situation. Maybe try this:
Press and hold the Volume down button and Power button for about 15 seconds, until the device restarts.

Also found some post about checking re-partition in Odin, but im not sure about that, i don't know what are the consequence
Do you know if flashing this official firmware to an unlocked phone form Sprint or other carriers will allow volte and WiFi calling? I am afraid that ATT will not register the IME and will still block these services. I am running G930UUEU8CRJ2 and those services are non-existent in the settings as I expected. Just wondering if anyone has tried this before I waste a bunch of time.
Also, I newer version (G930AUCS8CRK1) was just released Nov 1, 2018 as listed on the ATT website.

Has anyone used this root on Android 8 with this phone? What is the diff between the patched and the non patched version of Odin?
Flashed with regular odin and also was getting binary error. I just tried with patched odin and is working fine.
Thank you :good:
Latest firmware is now G930AUCU4CRL1. Any chance of getting this tweaked to get rooted? Looking forward to what and when a link for the latest stock is adjusted (have 2 S7 phones- one to test root and other to use for daily use.)

Hi all,
I have a Samsung galaxy S3 GT-I9300. 2 days ago it crashed and won't boot anymore. The reason was can't mount /cache, can't mount system ... on recovery mode. I tried only the wipe cache option and it did nothing.
I started looking at the forum to understand how to fix it. I deciced first to make a backup of my data if possible so I downloaded Odin v3.07 and philz_touch_6.07.9-i9300.tar.md5. I read in another thread that we can manage to copy data from the phone using philz tools.
The problem here is that flashing philz tools with Odin fails all the time. Now I can only access the download mode. At boot, I have a "Firmware upgrade encountered an Issue..." I tried with Kies recovery but it failed too.
In my sdcard, I have no folder clockwordmode ! In download mode
PRODUCT NAME : GT-I9300
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD : Yes (3)
CURRENT BINARY : Custom
SYSTEM STATUS : Ofiicial
I am bit lost as there seem to be a lot of options in other threads. I don'y know where to start or what to do ? is it the PIT files to restore ? the firmware, the kernel ? the whole OS ?
Many thanks
Don't use pit file. pit is Last resort!!!! Get stock firmware from sammobile.com and flash it through Odin. Forget kies. Read about Odin before flashing.
You'll need to flash with a *.pit file, and the ROM downloaded from sammobile in order to restore your device. Use the *.pit file as the absolute last option to restore your phone. It will repartition your phone, and any power loss of either the machine you are flashing from, or your phone will render it a permanent brick.
Thank you
I am downloading the latest firmware from sammobile (1.1 GB) and Odin 3.09. There are specific instructions for Odin on sammobile website so I don't think i'm goint to mess it up. I will let you know if it did work for me.
I tried to flash the image from sammobile but it failed. There is no log I can read to understand why
Here is the name of image I downloaded I9300XXUGML2_I9300FTMGML2_I9300BVUGML1_HOME.tar

Nand write fail = motherboard replacement.
Keep trying to flash and don't give up but please leave pit till the end. Yes try three part recovery firmware and older firmware "not ics" SDS on ics firmware and you don't want that. But at the end of the day nand write fail means hardware failure.

However, I still have the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue" at boot I removed the phone when I saw the message Removed in Odin. I am not sure whether it didn't let the process finish well or I did right. Any ideas or suggestions ?
I succeeded to reinstall the latest firmware and I got back the samsung logo at boot. However It still doesn't go any further and no recovery mode ... Is there a way to check the status of the system ?
Omg its alive!! Odin said pass! Just keep flashing that firmware till you get recovery and then factory reset.
Try the rescue firmware in general thread, follow the instructions exactly.

Hello
An update of my case. After struggling 2 days with NAND write fail and trying lots of firmwares... I succeeded to install CMW recovery tool. From that, I installed Cyanogenmod 10.0.2. I struggled to make it boot too as it looped on cyanogen logo many times.
Now I must confess that I am afraid of rebooting the phone as I thought it was dead
Hope it helps someone else :highfive:
Great feed back for others. and go's to show never give up flashing with Odin. Odin is a pain in the ....

try from odin 1.85 to 3.10 all
What model of s6 edge you haw??Look on samifirmware for yours model.Use odin 3.10.6 i think
and use the right region code BTW branding code..for free Germany it's dbt as example..
I hate to say it, but I have the exact same issue...
I tried to install TWRP, now the screen just goes blank after the Samsung logo.
I have downloaded the latest O2 UK firmware, flashed as normal using odin 3.10.6, and I get a "fail" too
Please could someone suggest something?
Thanks
EDIT: Re-flashed root, and all good again!
Guys i was upgrading official firmware through ODIN, but it failed. Tried flashing TWRP Recovery as well and below error occured. Need help as my S6 Edge 925F is stuck and won't boot. One more thing, i can enter download mode just fine.

PIT related error bothers me .......
@aneeqkhan I know this thread is a bit dated now, but nobody has replied to you question either? I am trying to recover my friends Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G925I, his bricked after a failed standard OTA update. Flashing stock firmware worked for about 1 week then the whole thing crashed and is un-bootable. Attempting to flash the exact same firmware again in hopes that I could boot into recovery (recovery by button combination DOES NOT WORK!) so was hoping to just boot and factory reset (I was thinking that maybe a data corruption was the cause we didn't wipe his phone because he didn't back it up)...upon putting the device into download mode and flashing the exact same firmware package that worked the week before I get the same error that you are getting? Not only that but none of the claimed fixes online for these devices has worked!?
Note: This is a 100% stock device never had anything flashed to it before I got it and still hasn't had anything custom flashed to it either
I am more interested now if you managed to recover your S6 and if so how did you do it?
Hi
Please can someone help me??
I downloaded this file (canada version of lollipop for SM-P900):
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/53868/P900UEU1COH2_P900XAC1COH2_XAC/
I used Odin 3.09 to try to install the file, and it said failed. Now when I try to power it up I get "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again".
When I connect it to Kies, Kies says it's not a compatible device. I know it is though, because I successfully connected in to Kies before I started doing all this.
I can still however enter download mode, but can't enter recovery mode (Power + Vol up + Home).
Thanks a lot
On the tablet screen, in download mode, it says:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-P900
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
Secure Download : Enabled
KNOX WARRANTY ISSUE VOID: 0 (0x0000)

The message I get in Odin is:

Thank you
I used Odin to flash back to the UK version of kitkat from Sammobile with no problems...
Any idea, from the Odin info, why the other one didn't work?
Thanks
Another update for anyone that's reading this/interested....
The Netherlands version of lollipop worked (http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/49414/P900XXU0BOF2_P900OXA0BOF2_PHN/).
The canadian one didn't, no idea why...
Pretty sure i bricked this to no repair.
So got my Sprint s6 edge few months ago and rooted it a week after. Sadly i dont know what i used rom wise to root it since its been a month+. Sadly i reformated pc awhile back so can't see the files i used.
Got bored and wanted to try and install xposed to add some new features to my phone. So just tried and i'm prety sure i bricked it hard...
what i followed
gs6.wonderhowto.com/how-to/install-xposed-framework-your-samsung-galaxy-s6-s6-edge-0163918/
It said make a recovery so i did by following
gs6.wonderhowto.com/how-to/install-custom-recovery-your-galaxy-s6-s6-edge-0161619/
I did what he did and after it asked for a reboot i rebooted and it got stuck on samsung boot logo saying "Recovery not SEANDROID Enforcing" in top left corner.
So i googled how to remove root and how to get past this screen and many suggested stock rom. I tried that and odin (v3.09) wont get past "Write NAND!"
I let it set for 20 minutes and nothing happened so i googled and everyone claimed trying different usb hubs and cables so i did that. I've tried every usb hub on my pc(8) and all 3 cables i had. So then tried different version v3.10.7 of odin and it fails with following
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Binary Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..

And in top right under Odin mode it reads
Product Name: SM-G295P

FRP Lock: OFF
Secure Download: Enabled
Knox warranty void: 1 (0x0301)
RP SWREV: B:3 K:2 S:2
SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 3, BINARY: 1
So now i'm just lost and scared at what to do. I googled "SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 3, BINARY: 1" And my findings are just to use stock rom...but thats what i did in first place. So now i'm stuck with a phone that is continuously rebooting itself to the samsung boot logo....
G925PVPU1AOCF_G925PSPT1AOCF_G925PVPU1AOCF_HOME.tar.md5 is the rom im trying to flash with and i believe it is stock because got it off this forum from a post claiming it was the new stock updated rom.
Can someone please help? I can skype or teamspeak or ventrilo or just use this forum to help me but i'm beyond confused on what to do now...
edit- phone is continuously rebooting itself to the samsung boot logo...but i managed to make it stop by making phone sit in download mode...
edit2- i can not go into recovery or safe mode. All i can do is wtach my phone go to the boot logo "Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge" screen then to black screen back to boot screen. And i can put it into download mode.... Thats it...The brick is real...
edit 3- 40 views and not one help lol, seems i'll be craigslist shopping soon.
You tripped the Knox counter, that is for sure. Since you can enter download mode that means it is still possible to install the stock firmware. Did you use the correct firmware for your model?

Is the stock rom i used to try and fix that recovery screwup.
i tried G925PVPU3BOJ7_G925PSPT3BOJ7_G925PVPU3BOJ7_HOME.tar which is a 5.1.1 stock rom and still same results!!!
Try performing a log cat. That is a low skill technique of diagnosing problems in android during a boot loop.

edit---
It fails on same part, but progress bar is sometimes farther. Tried it 3 times in total, just going to put phone on charger(wall outlet) for a few hours then try again
also sorry for double posting...
So I was gifted a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4. I decided to factory reset it and wipe all data/cache. That was successful and I booted into the phone. I got stuck on the Samsung reactivation lock page. I had trouble logging, and there was an SSL error (caused by the unset date/time). I decided just to flash the stock rom, but this only caused more trouble.
I went into download mode, connected the USB, started Odin (tested with version 3.04, 3.09, 3.10, and 3.12), and tested 3 roms from these two pages:

I've used different USB cables, USB ports, versions of Odin, roms, I tried using a pit file, disabling my antivirus, but nothing is working. If I try to boot the phone normally or go to the volume up menu it redirects me to this page: http://androidcentral.us/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Firmware-upgrade-error.png
Verizon and Kies (they were both off during the Odin flash attempts) are unable to see the phone in download mode and the error page above.
Some additional information. In the top left of the device it displays this:
DOIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SCH-I545
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
REACTIVATION LOCK: ON
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30

and after a failed Odin attempt:

I had a friend give me his cracked S4 and I just swapped out the parts. Everything is working fine now, can a mod close this?
