Capacitive Button Behavior - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Questions & Answers

quick question for a few people to weigh in on.
I recently got a tab s3 and really like it, however my old tab 10.5 lit it capacitive buttons whenever I touched the screen, my dad's tab does as well, but my tab s3 capacitive buttons only light when I actually touch the buttons themselves. someone told me that this is one of the minor differences between the US and UK versions of the firmware. Mine is a UK. Can I couple of people let me know how they're capacitive buttons behave and what region is your firmware is?

no navi pad

so as most huge problems start out, I got what I thought was a good deal on Ebay.
it's a touch pro that they claimed worked great but the touch pad wouldn't respond. All other controls functioned normally and only 4 months old.
4 months is pretty close, I got the touchpad working by re-soldering the 4 connections on the ribbon cable. but the navi pad only responds in the up-down directions. none of the other buttons on the front work, call buttons, home, back and enter all stay black and do nothing. What's strange is that up and down work
I reflashed it with a stock sprint ruu. then hard reset a couple of times. Nothing helps. I'm trying to get my hands on NAVDbgTool.exe, but i think that will only tell me what I already know. it's not working.
any ideas?!!
try to get the whole assembly. on eghey. also i heard there was an website that specialized in getting htc parts. i cant remember the url though.
I just missed a whole keyboard, screen, and everything a friend was selling. The whole top half of a phone, would have been just what I need.
cracked navipad
So, If any one has an interest in this. I think I solved what's going on here.
we know that the navipad is touch as well as having hardware buttons below.
my up and down directional buttons work fine. but no enter and no home ect. Home, back, and the two call buttons have two on either side and then the directional left and right. so in the left and right sides there is only 1 hardware button on each side meaning that it relies on touch to know where your finger is when you're pressing to know what function to perform.
I got looking really close at my navipad and holding it at angles near light i can see really fine cracks on the left side. So I'm guessing that it being broken is keeping the phone from getting a touch response so it can't assign a function to the press if it doesn't know where my finger is.
but the enter button is also touch sensitive and only works for the first few seconds of the boot cycle or when the device is off and doing a hard reset with voldown+enter+power.
So, at least it's a simple fix if I can find a directional pad somewhere.
Touch pro and Diamond interchangeable?
Does anyone know if the directional pad / Navipad of a Touch Diamond is the same as the touch pro? att fuze looks similar, but looking at a close up picture its obviously different.
I have a similar problem...please visit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561892&page=2

[Q] Power button feels "pushed in"?

Hi all,
I've recently purchased this phone, my first android phone, and have been using it moderately for a couple of days now. It's an excellent phone, but I've just noticed that the power button, compared to the volume controls on the other side, feels slightly "pushed in".
It still works, and it still "clicks" if pushed in the center of the button, but it doesn't feel as snappy as the volume control buttons. I'm wondering if this is a defect in my model, or if it's normal.
I'd appreciate any feedback from other GS2 owners.

Same on mine,
but this is since Day one.
I think its made smaller/deeper so the chance for accidentally pushing the button is less.
Greetz Tokl
SGS1 users complained about it sticking out to far .

I suppose it does make sense, although I'd prefer it had the same feeling as the volume controls. Just had to be sure it wasn't a fault in my particular model.
Thanks for the insight, guys.

[Q] Brand new S2 does not respond well to light touches

I recently bought myself a brand new S2 NFC I9100P.
I played with it the whole weekend and I found the touchscreen to be unresponsive to light touches/taps. Many times I have to tap twice or longer to open apps, make selections etc...I tried both the stock launcher and custom launchers, same thing.
I was not charging the phone while using it, I heard about the unresponsiveness when connected to a power source but this is not the case (well I have not tried yet).
I do not have this problem on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 or my previous phone, a HTC Desire S.
Did I get a defective unit? I am thinking about a replacement since it does not feel right to me. Anyone has experienced anything like this?
The phone is on Android 4.0.4 stock firmware (with Orange bloatware).
I have a I9100 and my unit reacts as expected. But I can't tell if your problem is due to hardware software failure.

same here on 2 units bought in Lithuania. One is running CM10.1 nightly and another - stock. both are having responsiveness issues. I thought the touch panel was c.....
Screen protectors make touch panel less responsive to small touches.
Bought genuine touch unit replacement in Lithuania. No issues on any rom here, very responsive

Buttons backlight

Hi all.
Silly question
I'm on stock 4.2.2 since it came out in Sep/Oct.. I had my phone only a few weeks before that.
I just realized that my buttons (the red home, back, recent apps) don't light up. Maybe I'm going crazy, but I think they did light up some time ago.
Could I have switched that off in some settings? Or these buttons just don't light up
Thanks
never mind. brain freeze I guess.
Buttons come on when it's dark

That's not a fix though. Mine use to do this after the 5.1.1 update. However, its been less frequent now. No idea what causes it though.
Oh...haha it just freaked me out, cause I was suppose to back up my photos then that happen and it freaked me out. Lol so it's a common thing?
When the s6 edge was on the charging pad, it got a little warmer than before when I took it off the pad. Maybe it's a safety feature?
