AmazeROM 2.0 Pace v2.6.x.y - The First Flashable TWRP ROM for Pace!
- Flash directly from TWRP;
- Based on latest stable/release CN firmware version;
- Improved Customization Package for better support to English (weekdays and voice alerts in English!);
- Future updates can be done using "delta" updates just like stock ROM: easier to download and maintain.
DISCLAIMER: You are using the provided files by your own risk, although I have tested the installation I am not responsible for any damage or data loss if you decide to use them.

It can be flashed to both versions of Pace: International (A1612) and Chinese (A1602). After flashing, the ROM will display the watch model as A1602, it's normal. You can revert to stock ROM anytime you want.
Once TWRP is installed, copy the ROM files to the TWRP folder in the watch's internal memory then:
1. Flash AmazeROM_2P;
2. Flash AmazeROM_2P_CUSTOMPACK (optional, only needed if you are flashing the first version, next versions have it included);
3. Wipe Cache/Dalvik;
4. Reboot;
5. Wait until optimizing apps finishes, then turn off watch for a while, then turn it back on (it will make sure sensors are reset).
The kernel used in TWRP is a bit buggy now, sometimes it doesn't refresh the screen when tapping buttons. If it happens, do a quick swipe vertically on screen or use the back/home button at the bottom if you are not sure about what happened and want to start the process all over again. More info in the included ReadMe.
PS: if you do not install CUSTOMPACK then TWRP will be replaced by stock recovery next boot, it's normal. This way you can use future OTAs just like stock ROM. If you install CUSTOMPACK then OTAs won't work, you have to wait until an update for AmazeROM is released.
It's the first version, so I have included a script to flash TWRP for you, there is a version for macOS/Linux and another one for Windows. Once you flash TWRP you can flash AmazeROM.
Known bug: Prototype-Source has some broken widgets when screen is on, it's Huami's fault. Fixed in 2.6.5.0!

Starting from v2.6.4.2, I will release only updates, so you must have the previous version running: either stock CN firmware or AmazeROM with Customization Pack installed. The installation automatically updates the system (just like OTA) and then installs the updated custom pack for the new version.
If you ever want to go back to stock again, flash the full version (older one) and do not install Custom Pack, of course.
Thanks for your efforts.
Dear Ifom could you please explain about the benefits off TWRP.
And I think the installation of this Rom (in compare of other ones) is a little difficult.
Just tested upgrading to 2.6.4.2 from the twrp installed rom by the system update (as stock rom), with twrp, no issue at all, this is very good !
Updated to v2.6.4.2.
Added update to 2.6.5.0.
Thanks, for your work. I decided to move to this from stock international. The install of TWRP and the full ROM plus the 2 updates went smoothly.
I'm thinking though the libs on this version may be different from either the old Pace or new Stratos as APK watchfaces have issues on either version

WatchFace libs from Pace CN 2.6.5.0 are the same as Stratos INTL 2.3.8.0 = both need updated APK watchfaces to work correctly. AmazeROM binaries are 100% stock CN, only assets were added/replaced to improve English support.

When I try the new Stratos version of Carlos's watchfaces the watchface apk crashes when launched and on the Pace version the screen is messed up (mostly black).
For now I reflashed the full version without custom pack so APK watchfaces working again (Pace version)

Again, it was something else: CustomPack is only used in the first version (2.6.4.1) to add the additional files needed for better English support, the next versions have it included so if you are on 2.6.4.2 or 2.6.4.5 you have it installed anyway.
OK, I didn't mean to imply that CustomPack was the cause, I was just getting closer to stock (2.6.4.1) to get the APK watchfaces working again.
Anyone else on latest CN rom that have the APKs working?
Update: just to confirm I have now OTA updated to 2.6.4.2 and then to 2.6.5.0 and can confirm that the new Stratos version of APK watchfaces work. I don't know why it wasn't working when I was when I was using AmazeRom method but I'm happy with the CN stock for now.
Anyone else had a problem when updating from: AmazeROM v2.6.4.1
to v2.6.4.2 ?
I get an error 7 in TWRP (not sure if I have 3.2.3-7 or 3.2.3-6)
Even when I try to skip one update and go strait to: v2.6.5.0
Still error 7.
You should use the latest TWRP, the one included in the ZIP file works, it's the one I use with my Pace right now.
Updated to v2.6.6.0
Probably this is the best AmazeROM version ever:
- Based on latest stable CN firmware;
- All Xiaomi integration apps;
- Full support to English, including weekday names and voice alerts during activities;
- All features found in Stratos (excluding VO2max and swim activities, of course): all activities and music control;
- Updated GPS firmware and HR algorithm;
- Fully compatible with stock firmware, no mods = no probs.

[GUIDE] Asus Padfone S KK/L - Fix Brick/Bootloop, Converting TW -> WW, Root & Xposed
I've seen some people asking questions and I have solved some of these problems on my own. I personally have trouble remembering these steps too, so I thought it would be of benefit to keep them listed here.
Special thanks go out to Android File Host for graciously hosting the files.
First some downloads that we'll use later...
Stock firmwares:
https://www.asus.com/Phone/PadFone_S_PF500KL/HelpDesk_Download/
Recoveries:
CWM mirror
TWRP 2.8.6.0 mirror
TWRP 2.8.7.0_v3 mirror (seems to have issues flashing official FW files, may want to stick with 2.8.6.0 or CWM)
Step 0) Save the flashable zips that you want to your external SD card. You can download any of the stock firmwares, but if you're looking to convert your TW version to WW version you'll need some of these patched firmwares:
UL-ASUS_T00N-TW-to-WW-13.6.5.35-user-PATCH.zip
UL-ASUS_T00N-TW-to-WW-12.2.2.43-user-PATCH.zip
UL-ASUS_T00N-TW-to-WW-12.2.2.41-user-PATCH.zip
UL-ASUS_T00N-TW-to-WW-12.2.2.37-user-PATCH.zip
UL-ASUS_T00N-TW-to-WW-12.2.2.27-user-PATCH.zip
UL-ASUS_T00N-TW-to-WW-12.2.2.21-user-PATCH.zip
UL-ASUS_T00N-TW-to-WW-99.99.99.0-user-wipedata%28DowngradeLtoKK%29-PATCH.zip
Here are some additional flashable zips for Lollipop (Ignore if you're installing Kitkat):
Root: BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip mirror
Xposed: xposed-v73-sdk21-arm.zip mirror
* You will want the xposed-v73-sdk21-arm.zip for Lollipop 5.0 (Asus FW 12.2.2.21-12.2.2.43 are all Android 5.0). You will also want to download XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk mirror if you are flashing Xposed.
Extra Goodies:
Unlock Bootloader: CrowLock_RC3.zip mirror
Playstation Certificates (to enable Remote Play in the Playstation App) mirror
Step 1) Flash the CWM custom recovery (you can switch this to TWRP later, if you like).
There are numerous guides on how to do this, skip ahead if you've already got CWM or if you want to install it in your own way. Otherwise, you will need to download and extract the Android SDK Tools zip from https://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#Other
Save cwm.img into the folder where you extracted the Android SDK Tools
Start the phone in bootloader mode by holding volume up and power
Connect your phone over USB to your PC.
Open your PC's terminal/command prompt and change directory to the location where you extracted the SDK Tools zip by issuing the cd command.
Issue this fastboot command (Mac/Linux):
Code:
./fastboot flash recovery cwm.img
Or issue this fastboot command (Windows):
Code:
fastboot flash recovery cwm.img
Once it finishes, power off your phone.
Step 2) Boot into CWM by holding the volume down button and power
Step 3) Wipe the cache/dalvik cache in CWM
Step 4) Start installing the zips you want.
Unlocking the bootloader:
Flash CrowLock_RC3.zip
Fixing Brick/Bootloop/Missing Radios/etc.:
If you've bricked your phone, or gotten yourself into a bootloop, or you're missing some radio bands, or if you just want to start over from scratch - flash the 99.99.99.0 downgrade firmware. This will reset your user data, but also installs a complete version of the Android OS rather than just flashing updated files. It will install FW 11.10.7.18, the latest version of Kitkat (4.4.2) for the Padfone S. I've gotten into the habit of always flashing this first, since it seems to make everything more painless. If you're converting your TW version to WW, use the patch file I've listed above - otherwise use the official FW from Asus. You can use the patch file from above on any WW version of the phone as well.
Standard FW Install:
If you're not converting a TW Padfone to WW, go ahead and install the official FW from Asus at this point. You can use the patch files from above on any WW version of the phone as well.
Kitkat TW (Taiwan) -> WW (Worldwide) conversion:
To convert your TW Padfone S to WW Padfone S on Kitkat, you can flash any of the 11.x official WW firmwares. Yeah, it's that easy. No, if you have a TW version you cannot flash an 11.x WW firmware and then a 12.x WW unless you're using one of the 12.x patch files from above.
Lollipop TW (Taiwan) -> WW (Worldwide) conversion:
The WW stock firmwares 12.x META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script checks ro.product.device for the value "ASUS_T00N", and the TW version of the phone does report that while in actually in a running instance of Android. However, at recovery time the TW version appears to report "t00n" for this value. I'm not sure why this is, but if you don't want to trust my download (hey, I wouldn't blame you), you can download and extract the official zip from Asus and then alter the updater-script file check for "t00n" instead - repack the zip and put that on your SD card to flash instead.
Rooting Lollipop:
Flash BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip
And any other additional goodies you want (like the Playstation Certificates).
Step 5) Reboot your phone. If you're going to flash Xposed for Lollipop, then after getting into the OS at least once reboot into recovery and flash xposed-v73-sdk21-arm.zip. Reboot again.
Step 6) Go through your initial setup, setting up WiFi, logging into your accounts, downloading updates from the play store, uninstalling bloatware you don't want, etc.
Step 7) Kitkat only: If you want to root your Padfone S with FW 11.x, install and run TowelRootV1.apk.
Step 8) If you flashed the Xposed zip, you'll need to install its correlating APK: XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk - if you're on Kitkat you should be able to just run the standard Xposed app to install it normally. It's at this point that I install Rootcloak from the Xposed app to hide the root status from various apps.
Step 9) Now you can flash TWRP if you don't want too keep CWM.
My favorite method of doing this is to install Flashify from the Google Play Store, and then from that app I flash the twrp_2.8.6.0.img file. Personally I don't flash things often enough to keep Flashify on my phone, so I uninstall it.
Step 10) Final reboot, you're good to go.
I hope this helps some others out there that may have run into the same issues I did.
Will this work for Plus version? What is the difference between TW and WW?

I'm going to go ahead and say "no" to the plus version. Different hardware, different drivers, different kernel.
Difference between TW and WW appears to be default language on initial setup (which can be changed in the TW version to English like the WW version has). I can't find any difference other than that and the boot-time device ID being t00n instead of ASUS_T00N. While the OS is running the TW reports "ASUS_T00N" like it should. Oh, and if you register an Asus account in the TW version it will be set to the Taiwan region, rather than the US region (and all the e-mails they send to your account will be in Taiwanese - and there's no way to switch it).

When I started the phone with TW. It came up as english being first. I already have an account with ASUS so don't have to worry about that. I am pretty sure the plus version has the same kernel only difference is 3GB of ram and 64GB of space. Otherwise all other hardware are the same. I am using the same software as the none plus version.

Ah, yeah, sure enough. It seems that Asus released it under the same model number - and there is no specific support page for the plus model, they share the same page. So yeah - guess this does work for Plus models.
TW was the language option on my TW model with KK, maybe this changed with L. Kinda hoping to see an M soon, though. We can only hope.
Xposed is not working on this phone if im using Marshmallow?
Does the patch also works with Marsmellow. I have a bootloop after installing Magisk.

is there a way to change lockscreen wallpaper or icon set ? Is this a MIUI bug or there is some workaround? Thanks!
Hello, I'm using rom is great so far, except for a problem that miui has in the Chinese version that does not allow the use of unlicensed launchers. I did a research and saw that this does not happen in the global version of miui, is there any way to circumvent this?

There is a workaround for this..
I have made up to 10.000flashes testing my builds and i have faced this twice..
After to Many tries with Qfil kernel's etc finally I've found tge trick accidentally..
Flash clean my EUI30S-V17 ALL Formats including internal storage... with my TWRP 3.2.1-1 with tools..
Then go ti fingerprint settings abd make fingerprint calibration (lower setting)
for many times..uo to 15... after 12 time usually working..
Then flash any other rim you want and enjoy..
This worked for me twice so far.
I hope to work for you..

Hello, I am newbie yet so I am asking if anyone can explain the vendor's use, and what do I get from installing them.
Thank you for your time
Now almost roms here includes custom vendor. So you need firmware only.
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/vendor/beryllium/
And here's custom rom installation process
Flash rom
Flash firmware
Gapps(optional)
Dfe(if you don't want it to be encrypted)
Magisk(optional)
That's it. No need to know more.

Miui decided to use MODIFIED VENDOR IMAGE hence POCO F1 gets a modified vendor image for Android Pie-based Project Treble GSIs
what was the impact?
custom roms couldn't be flashed (booted) if you don't flash the modified vendor image from twrp
even today when most of the roms have their own vendor you still need to flash the vendor+firmware (atleast)
Developer Akhil Narang started collecting all releases at
https://mirror.akhilnarang.me/MIUI/beryllium/
currently I am using 9.6.27-9.0 which is working best for me, 10.3.6 image made my batter drainage high (atleast i noticed)
I am on HAVOC2.8 and this is how i did it
1. flashed TWRP 3.3.1 unofficial (download it from HERE ) ref Reference - as official twrp has TOUCH driver issues. this one worked with me very well
2. I wiped /data, /system then
3. flashed VENDOR.zip from HERE
4. FLASHED CUSTOM ROM (i use HAVOC2.8)
5. FLASHED DFE HERE - REFERENCE
6. FLASHED GOOGLE APPS ( GAPPS.ORG) ( ARM64>9.0MicroPackage)
7. Flash Kernel ( OPTIONAL- havoc uses shadow kernel , i feel optimus drunk kernel is better, battery and 4g connectivity) even Franco Kernel is very good
8. FLASHING MAGISK19.3
9. when i was on havoc2.7, by using MIGRATE, it made flashable zip of my APPS+DATA, stored in internalStorage, and now I will FLASH that file., Mine size goes to 2gb you can get it from HERE
10. WIPE CACHE/DELVIK
11. REBOOT
fire reboot may go in to bootloop and then second reboot may take a while and finally you should see Pixel Setup asking google accounts and info etc
-----------------------
extraa
once after you finish setup! don't RESTORE APPS from PLAYSTORE, (download only license apk, in my case I have purchases many apps from playstore and saperate license info is always appear in intial setup! SELECT THOSE ONLY)
ONCE playstore is DONE downloading all your selected (fewer) apps, and MAGISK ROOT is working...... put device on AIRPLANE MODE
FROM DROP DOWN Notification panel, CLICK MIGRATE, and it will prompt you what do you wana restore from your previouce ROM to newly flashed HAVOC ..APPS+SETTINGS+PERMISSION+DATA etc - migrate restoration may take upto 30 mins,
once done, uninstall from system and reboot device!
REMEMBER I DONOT RECOMEND MIGRATE TRICK FOR WHATSAPP, it doesn't work properly and NOTIFICATION ISSUES with BLANK DP observed by me whenever I forcely re-instated whatsapp by migrate!

Flashing custom roms will not wipe anything, so the vendor is still there. And firmwares too.
If you've flashed a non-stock recovery like TWRP*, you can not use the OTA update feature. You need to flash the full ROM via TWRP.
* TWRP is now officially supported, make sure you flash that version if you're using an older, unofficial TWRP.
1. Obtain the ROM you want to install. Make sure the download is from miui.com if you want stock
Official site -> My phone is the EEA version, so I use the 'Mi 9T EEA' tab. The website does not update links immediately after a ROM update is released, so you may have to do a bit of digging if you want a very recent update.
You can also check ROM links on third party sites like ezbox.idv.tw, again, make sure the actual download links are from miui.com and not somewhere else.
Latest EEA ROM(Android 10) as of 2020-10-24 -
V12.0.3.0.QFJEUXM
Nightly official LineageOS builds
2. Get into TWRP
Either run 'adb reboot recovery'
Or power phone off and boot into TWRP by holding PWR+VOL_UP during boot
3. Upload the ROM to the phone
Code:
adb push ~/Downloads/[B]miui_DAVINCIEEAGlobal_V12.0.3.0.QFJEUXM_12b99693bc_10.0.zip[/B] /sdcard/
4. Flash the ROM via TWRP
5. Flash Magisk if you use it, because flashing the ROM deletes it.
6. Remove the update file:
Code:
adb shell rm /sdcard/[B]miui_DAVINCIEEAGlobal_V12.0.3.0.QFJEUXM_12b99693bc_10.0.zip[/B]
That's it! Reboot your phone into your new ROM!
Also check out my debloat list and my detailed phone settings.
Additional note - formatting /system will brick your phone and you'll have to recover using a fastboot ROM.

If you've flashed a non-stock recovery like TWRP, you can not use the OTA update feature. You need to flash the full ROM via TWRP.
So how to get around this when the updater is telling you there is an incremental update?
Simple, we tell the updater to download the full image instead, move the update from the original folder so MIUI won't attempt to upgrade from it on next reboot, boot into TWRP and flash the image there.
1. Settings -> About Phone -> System update -> three dots -> Download latest package
2. Get filename of the update:
3. You now have the filename of the update. I got miui_DAVINCIEEAGlobal_V10.3.15.0.PFJEUXM_b6738621e2_9.0.zip and will be using this name throughout the rest of this how-to, replace the examples accordingly based on what name you got.
4. (optional) Backup the latest ROM file to your PC:
5. Prevent MIUI from seeing the update file and trying to update from it on accident by moving the file a folder higher:
6. Power phone off
7. Boot into TWRP by holding PWR+VOL_UP during boot
8. Flash the ROM via TWRP
9. Flash Magisk if you use it, flashing the ROM deletes it.
10. Boot back into Android and remove the update file:
That's it!
You can also download the full ROM directly through miui.com, but keep in mind the website does not instantly update the link there after a ROM update is released.
https://en.miui.com/download-361.html#619 -> My phone is the EEA version, so I use the 'Mi 9T EEA' tab.
Page best viewed in Firefox, clicking on the lock icon -> Arrow icon in the security tab -> Disable protection, since Xiaomi can't even set their website up properly.
In my case the ROM download through phone was corrupted and I had to edit the site URL from the filename I got to get a proper update file:

Hey @C0rn3j
I am on stock 10.3.12.0 PFJEUXM and TWRP 4PDA 3.3.1.-2 fix and Magisk.
My questions:
1. Is it worth the upgrade to MIUI 11 as it is still Android 9
2. If I flash it through TWRP, did you loose any dual app settings? (as I lost dual apps while backing up the phone with TWRP and Titanium backup)
3. as you said I have to flash the Magisk again, did you choose the latest or the same as was installed on the phone before the upgrade?
Thanks in advance for reply

If the Magisk have to be flashed again, does it mean all the hide settings which were there before has to be set again or stay there from the old version? I have few apps in Magisk hide root, so just wondering how this will be affected with rom update
A second question:
I am on 10.3.12.0 not upgraded yet to 10.3.15.0.
Can I upgrade straight to V11.0.2.0 or first to 10.3.15.0 and then to V11?

While flashing did you untick Recovery in the TWRP as I believe the whole 2,2GB ZIP has recovery image and could be flashed and overwrite the TWRP?
Your guide not working, twrp failed to install the update "file corrupted".
I've downloaded the OTA package from "http://c.mi.com//miuidownload/detail?device=1700361" and twrp very happy to install this file, my Mi_9T at the latest update 11.
Unfortunately the archive downloaded through the Updater cannot be flashed as is through TWRP (message: file corrupted)

How to update with unlocked bootloader, TWRP and rooted with Magisk?
Download the hole update zip, flash it in TWRP and immediately Magisk afterwards?

Backup everything on your phone.
From what I understand; if you flash an OTA zip you'll end up on MIUI without root or TWRP unless, whilst still in TWRP after the zip has flashed, you immediately flash TWRP's image again along with Magisk without rebooting even once so that both persist.
That's if TWRP let's you flash whatever file ends up in /sdcard/downloaded_rom to begin with. Flashing MIUI zips - typically only supported by OrangeFox if I remember correctly. And if I'm right MIUI updater will download the full rom instead of an OTA if it detects a custom recovery.
I'd advise backing up everything before going ahead. If you want OTA your best bet might be to go on your PC and do "fastboot boot twrp.img" instead of "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" then use the temporary TWRP to install the OTA zip and Magisk zip - that way it'll patch the stock bootloader.
I'd wait for someone with a little more knowledge though. I could be deathly wrong as I've only read this stuff and not updated MIUI with OTA before.

I think it's been withdrawn. It never officially came out of beta. They're still trying to fix a few minor Q bugs like battery drain and camera app issues; on top of that the development for MIXM in particular has been a bit behind - probably due to Chinese new year and/or Coronavirus. Though it's possible the MIXM (or Global) branch is compiled outside China; truth be told I have no idea why the Q update has been handled so badly for this particular device channel. The Mi9T Pro's development has been seemingly 'paused' as of late for Global users.
Reminds me a lot of my Redmi 5 Plus. Development was paused for much of the product's lifespan and they never fixed certain bugs on the device; just merged MIUI branch changes. Hopefully the same doesn't happen to the Mi9T Pro. It is a flagship-esque device and barely six months old (August 2019).

I had to download the OTA zip someone sent here and ended up manually updating. Tap a few times on the 11 in the updater until a toast message pops up saying that you enabled additional options and then tap on 3 dots and select Choose update package and browse to the zip you downloaded and select it.
Honestly I have like since forever used custom ROMs on my phones and this time I wanted to have the "stock experience", but if they keep delaying updates like this I'll just switch to xiaomi.eu weekly builds.
Since 31st of January Xiaomi suspended temporarily all updates due to the Corona virus outbreak.
How do i flash ota file manually on non rooted phone?
1. Be sure you have the correct OTA file
2. Place the OTA file in a folder of the internal storage named "downloaded_rom".
3. Go to settings/about the phone/systemupdate and tick the 3 dots on the right top
4. Then tick "choose update package" with this text or similar and go to the folder where you copied the Ota file and choose that file
Then let the Ota file update do it's work and after reboot it is done.

The option "Choose update package" doesn't show up unless you tap the 11 in the Updater a few times, because manually installing a .zip is an advanced (duh) option.
Was assuming that people here would know.
