I bought a brand new V30 on ebay a while back. That one had location issues, so did a warranty swap thru Tmobile. The warranty device has had nothing but issues with texting. Recipients getting 2+ messages from me, takes more than a minute to send, even crashes some recipients text app. I've done a factory reset to no avail, and of course now the warranty is expired. I unfortunately had to move to Samsung, but I miss my V30, with its outstanding software and camera. Any ideas? Tia.

I just got my Thrive about a week ago and am noticing that sometimes text messages are 4-6 minutes late to my phone. I dont think I have a problem sending. What usually happens is I get sent a text but I do not receive it. The person that sends it to me then sends me another one asking why I havent replied. Then a few minutes later I get them both at the same time. It is very hard to keep a conversation with this issue. Can anyone help me? I am not using any of the sms replacement apps at the moment. I did but once I noticed the delay, i got rid of it to make sure it was not the app's fault and now it still happens
Contact the carrier?
The reason i dont think it's AT& T issue is that my previous phone did not have this issue and i am located is the same which is my home
Hey everyone,
I haven't been having the best of luck. I use to be with Rogers, and owned a basic phone, and never had any issues. I got fed up with their customer service, and switched to Telus back in December. Obviously, I decided to pick up the HTC Amaze, and after a week of playing around with it, I really enjoyed it and decided to keep it.
A week later, friends started mentioning to me that I was sending out duplicate text messages to them. I was concerned since they don't have unlimited text messaging, and gave Telus a call. First they told me it was probably a buggy phone, and they gave me a new one, no charge at all, for the buggy phone.
Now that I'm on my second Amaze, things seemed to work fine. Couple weeks pass and the problem starts again. This time, I'm receiving the duplicate text messages from my friends. Me, getting really annoyed with waking up in the middle of the night to a text and finding out that its the same text from hours ago, called Telus back the next morning. They told me my SIM card needed an update. And I said "okay". After the update, I started receiving, AND sending duplicate messages.
Once again, I called them being extremely fed up, and told me to write down the times of the duplicate messages were received, and sent out. Here I am, 4 months later, with my second Amaze, 3 tech support calls, 2 pages full of days and times I received and sent duplicate text messages (thanks to my kind friends letting me know when they received doubles).
Before I call them for HOPEFULLY the last time, have any other Telus users have the same issue? Have you gotten it resolved? If so, how? What steps did you take? My phone is rooted, so if there are possibly any mods or patches, please let me know.
Even if you're not with Telus, and still have experienced these issues, I'd love to hear your stories/solutions as well.
I have had the same problem intermittently and have been told by others using telus that they have had that problem too. It hasn't been annoying enough yet for me to contact telus about it and since i have unlimited texting there hasn't been a cost issue for me.
I've had issues with telus over this in the past, and it isn't your phone, and it definitely isn't your sim card! Its telus' network. If anyone's getting charged over extra messages a call to your provider letting them know that you're getting duplicate messages will resolve that. But I still get duplicates, sometimes triple messages! Its annoying, but its not on your end. I've been with telus since 2001, and ever since I had my old LG Fastap I've been getting duplicate messages
Its never been excessive though, maybe 3-4x a week.
same issue here, mainly been receiving the double texts, happens with different friends from different networks so who knows what the issue is.
I have been with telus for 10 years now and this occasionally happens, at one point i was getting 5-6 duplicates of the same message over the course of an hour, that was really annoying. Only for the past month have i been getting the duplicate messages which happen back to back quite quickly.
im on unlimited messaging as well so dont think much of it.
First, some back story:
On Monday, I attempted to do a profile update. The update failed, and I lost data, texts, and voice. All subsequent attempts to update my profile resulted in either a vDM Client crash or an error 1012, which means that my phone has no credentials on Sprint's network. PRL updates result in the same error.
I have gotten data back, and I can make calls and send texts, but I do not receive calls or texts; if I ever get a text, I'll get it almost literally a day later than it was sent. The only time I receive these texts, I'm roaming.
Usually the solution to this would probably be fairly simple: just use EPST to reset my data profile, or run an RUU. Well, two problems there:
1) EPST does not work. At all. Typing in ANY of the codes does absolutely nothing. I tried it stock (which I have been since I got the phone), and I then rooted and tried other .apks, and then I RUU'd and tried again. Still nothing.
2) The RUU didn't fix my issue; I still cannot complete a profile update or receive calls or texts.
I'm leaving for college in Maryland on the 16th of August, so I need to get this straightened away. I'm going to be too far away from home to have to deal with not getting calls or texts.
I purchased the phone for full, off contract price through Sprint at the beginning of June, since I didn't have an upgrade available. I do not have insurance on the device, and I didn't think to get it because I've never damaged a phone or had problems with a phone before.
At this point I'm convinced that I'll need to get a replacement. The only thing I worry about is how much they'll try to charge me for the replacement. I hope it isn't too much, because this was a fault of their network and not something that I caused. And, since I'm going to college in a month, I don't really have a lot of money to use on a cellphone.
So, to anybody who has had to exchange the phone for a replacement, what kind of fees am I looking at in order to get this fixed?
I had the same problem on my evo lte and on my s3 apparently meid on my number switched my s3 was screwed up called sprint it was on there side for the mix problem they sent me a data reset to my phone fixed the meids apparently and I got everything working back as soon as the phone rebooted give them a call and ask them to reset your phone and fix it on there side

I've already gone through a phone call, and they weren't able to figure it out. It sounds like you had the exact problem that I'm having though. Maybe another call will solve the problem.
Yeah did I got the same error code lol check if your phone number is correct first and then ask them to reset it for you I have to do some pound thing then enter a code that sprint only knew then they fixed it on there end apparently they were receiving I was connected to them but it was sending back from Sprints side

did u get that fixed bro???
Haven't called yet. I'm going to be too busy to really need a phone the next couple of days, and then I'll call after that.
I got a few text messages on time, maybe things are improving.

So, I returned my Axon 7 to ZTE back on 12/18. They received it 12/23. I've heard nothing back and their status page shows "created" with no real status other than they got it.
I emailed them at [email protected] and [email protected] and at [email protected], all three email addresses came from my RMA email, their own website, and from the ZTE official forums. They all bounce back with various failure messages. I tried sending from two accounts too. I have tried emailing them almost 10 times and I have called them four times.
When I call, they NEVER know the status. One lady, after talking with her for several minutes, was going to send me a label for a return! I told her that I have nothing to send in, but that I am checking on a device that I have already returned. Yeah, she hung up on me.
This other occurrence is super frustrating but kind of funny: When customer service gets frustrated because they can't help me, they start speaking so quickly and their english is so poor that I just have to excuse myself, thank them, and call back again. It is uncanny how it happens every call.
So, moral of the story is: Don't expect good customer service if you return your ZTE because you are unhappy with it. And, be prepared to go to battle using your credit card company as leverage.
I am so disappointed in ZTE! They had such potential.... has anyone successfully returned a device to ZTE for a refund?
I did a RMA on mine about 6 months ago - USE LIVE CHAT on the website, DO NOT CALL. Those people have a remote clue as to what is going on. And visit them in the live chat everyday.
Do a dispute with the credit card company, print out the tracking. If you have a receipt that shows the return to address, include that too. Hopefully you took some pics of the box/packaging as well. A chargeback will get there attention quickly.
Miracles happened and I got my refund today! Thanks in part to a rep (Samer) on the ZTE forums.

I guess you're based in the US. European customer service from Wsupport has been amazing over here.
After going back and forth with T-Mobile a few times they agreed to send me a replacement phone. They assured me during the 14 day window I had to return the phone that the upcoming update would fix all these problems and they most definitely did not. They finally agreed to send me a "new" phone although I suspect that its refurbished. They said it wasn't but the phone arrived in T-Mobile's packaging and not OnePlus's. I know manufacturers make the same product and package them differently due to different uses and the phone didn't have any scratches but I just have no trust in T-Mobile. On top of the "warranty" claim I had to make within 1 month of owning the phone, i had to pay them $50 to make the claim. This is beyond absurd.
I'm not trying to transfer everything over with OnePlus switch and google back-up but this phone can't even complete that properly. It took 1.5 hours to "move" all of my messages (67,000) over to the new phone last night but they only dated back to the beginning of 2020. I'm trying to do it again right now but i don't have much faith in it. None of the settings moved over but the home screen did. I have to log back into all of my accounts and spend another half day to do all of this without any assurance that the new phone is going to work.
Summary
Does anyone have a full proof way to move everything over. It's the same exact phone and I'd like to move setings, accounts and everything over.
Any help is very appreciated.
I would try takng it in store and have them do the OnePlus switch. I did that when I got my 8tp mclaren and even though it took half an hour it was seem less. I've been told the OnePlus switch method is the best.
