I just noticed a odd thing when trying to flash Sony's original firmware with FlashTool, basically I couldn't flash it (fw 23.5.A.1.291), FlashTool couldn't detect the device correctly. Both Flashtool and fastboot detect it as CB5A22PX3X. With v0.9.18.6 I could select what device it was and flash the firmware thou. But why is it detected as CB5A22PX3X?
I looked at the default.prop file, and the device model seems correct there.

It's been over a week I am struggling with this bullsh*t. Don't mean to be rude, just I am nervous, because I read countless of guides and Q&A's; but I couldn't make this work.
I am just and only trying to install a basic kernel/Rom, but no luck for about 1 week.
Sony Xperia X10.
I am using Flashtool .0.9.11, installed drivers selecting "Flashmode driver, Fastboot driver, Xperia X10 driver". Installation fine, on the device management, it's seen as "SEMC Flash Device". Flashtool recognizes the phone as ADB.
I flash the FTF kernel by placing it into firmware folder and running Flashmode in Flashtool. It says flashing was successful, but it still boots with the old kernel. And in the kernel selection list, it doesn't show the new kernel I flashed.
I try fastboot mode, but the hell it never accepts that the device has fastboot mode. I plug the phone closed pressing the back key while plugging; I try to update the SEMC Flash Device with the "fastboot driver" that Sony supplies, but it says its not a valid driver. Though I had already installed the fastboot driver from Flashtool/Drivers folder; but it insists on saying fastboot is not available.
Hell what now?
Btw I tried Doomlard's modified Recovery which has the option "boot into fastboot mode"; I thought this time it's gonne be, but it just cut the power off; did not start back.

Upgraded to Windows 8 and didn't install the flash tool drivers for it?
say no to Drugs and ICS!
What is your phone actually?
Sent from my MT11i using xda app-developers app
I just realised by your question that I've posted in a wrong forum. The phone is Xperia X10i. I think it's not so much important anymore.
Hey!
Now my device is installed as Xperia Mini, when device is on, is this the right driver?
When not installed (before I press Install PC Companion software on this computer)
it shows up as Sony Ericsson sa0102 ADB Interface Driver, and I have the option to choose between similar named drivers, non of which works. This doesnt seem right?
What driver should the device use before PC-Companion installs the Xperia Mini driver?
In flashmode, the device is installed as Android ADB device. This seems right if you follow other tutorials/guides!
But I still cant flash/root nor unlock bootloader.
I know I need to downgrade the stock software version .62 to either .42 or .58 (The latter I couldnt find, so I will try .42 fw)
Bootloader unlock allowed: yes
USB debugging: ON
Unknown sources: ON
USB connection mode: MSC
Driver signature enforcement: OFF
Flashtool -> Throws error both on BLU and Flash, says my bootloader cant be officially unlocked
Doomlords v.4 -> Cant chmod/copy/install, but it seems it can push zergRush, if that means it "transferring" the app to the device
SE Bootloader_Unlocking_Relocking -> Throws exception when trying to flash, and hangs when I try to unlock the bootloader
SuperOneClick -> Shows half the process of zergRush then hangs, doesnt matter the method (zergRush, psnauter, GingerBreak)
fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version-> stuck at < waiting for device >
But "adb devices" shows the device! Is there a way to flash, root or unlock the bootloader with ADB?
This part might be the source of the whole mess!
Another problem im facing, probably highly crusial, when I try to upgrade the stock firmware neither PC-Companion nor SE update service can finish the upgrade!! It doesnt recognise my device when I being prompted to connect my phone in flashmode. I'm stuck here...
This might be a problem someone has encontered, and might share som insight in!?
When solved, I'll edit this thread to be "for those who facing the same issues as I'm doing!" And explain the exact details how and which drivers to install, and when!
And if I dont solve it, I'll think I'm gonna give Sony Ericsson a call after I posted on there official forums!
Dear XDA Developers,
I recently purchased an xperia pro mk16i from china, through ebay.
When trying to unlock the bootloader through fastboot; it already was.
The phone came with android 2.3.4, (in dutch, my native language, which struck me as odd) I believe.
I followed a tutorial to install sailfish, and all was fine; but I skipped a step that asked for stock android ICS to make sure the partition layouts and firmware was correct.
Trying to go back to stock and flashing a ftf for my phone with flashrom is where the trouble started, I never managed to flash anything through flashrom, despite trying everything I could find. (no driver issues)
Where I am now:
-I can flash a boot.img through fastboot, and cyanogenmod just fine (everything boots) but my touchscreen won't work
-Flashrom mentions an unofficial bootloader, and gives an error relating to loader.sin when trying to flash anything.
-Trying 'repair my phone' in sony pc companion states at the last moment (when connecting phone in flashmode) that there is no software available for my phone
How can I fix my phone again?
I tried emma; which mentions my phone is locked; though the bootloader has to be unlocked for I have used a custom rom.
flashtool mentions a nonstandard loader as well.
I think I somehow have a strange nonstandard but patched bootloader.
How do I flash a stock bootloader so I can unlock it properly, and flash a stock rom/ftf?
This keeps getting worse; I can't enter fastboot anymore (and cwm too)
that happened after trying restore in s1tool.
since then, my bootloader version is in capital R, not small r, indicating it is locked.
trying the unlock method with testpoint appears to work, however after disconnecting the phone, it resets back to R4A069
trying to flash with s1tool flashes adsp.sin correctly, but gets stuck on the loader just like flashtool
FATAL ERROR [ SECURITY_CLASS: SIN_HEAD_VER, Failed_to_verify_sin_header ]
I removed loader.sin from the ftf archive and flashed it with s1tool and it worked!
I forgot about simlock.ta, so I flashed that too :/
anyways, phone boots now, touchscreen still doesn't work, I have usb debugging / can access adb now, but I still can't boot into fastboot.
Hi guys, a friend asked me to repair her tablet Xperia Z4 SGP771, it does not boot at all.. It does have access to fastboot mode (blue light) and flash mode (green light).
This device had the bootloader unlocked and was rooted and, for some reason, she tried to factory reset it. It is dead since then...
I have no clue of which ROM version it had, or CDA, firmware.. location etc...
When I connected the device on PC (Win10) and try to verify connectivity via adb cmd the device list is empty, but when I tried to reboot into bootloader it was successful. (see pic1.jpg attached)
I tried to flash TWRP via fastboot but no success, see pic2.jpg, it says FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
I verified connections via flashtool, it says: Device Status: FASTBOOT mode, see pic3.jpg, which seems to be working fine..
Now, I was thinking to download a generic FTF firmware using XperiFirm and then flash it via Flashtool, is there anything I should know before proceeding on this step? I will wait for any guide/light from you guys... thx in adv
Hi,
Flash any MM 6.01 firmware (32.2.A.5.11). No Nougat firmware.
Here is an old guide to flash a firmware but you can use it : http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/03/1...peria-lollipop-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool/
And upgrade FlashTool to 0.9.23.2

I tried that but it is failing in the middle of the process. See pic, any other idea?
get the LATEST version of flashtool
you also might try another FTF in case something is wrong with your download
check that the drivers for your operating system are properly installed an up to date (more on that in my [GUIDE])

Hi. I am using Xperia X with firmware 34.4.A.2.85(UAE generic). I need to upgrade it to Indian generic version and i downloaded the ftf file. Hence i downloaded flashtool for flashing it. I installed the fastboot and flashboot drivers successfully after plugging in my phone. But flashtool is saying that 0 devices are connected. Do I need to root my device or unlock bootloader for this?

Fastboot mode is NOT for flashing firmwares
connect your device in FLASHMODE
install
c:\flashtool\drivers (there is setup file, - disable digital rights management in windows10 and install all)
install xperia companion
make first test connection , one by one , first in fastboot mode, then flashmode
now try!
ps: use LATEST flashtool version
I booted into flash mode but flashtool says that device connected in flashmode but drivers are too old.
